Everytime i try to flash a firmware on my smg900h device, odin keeps hanging at the same "initialisation" step. I've been trying for 2 weeks, any help would be greatly appreciated.
Try removing your battery before you go into download mode, and then when odin recognizes it, put it back in and start the process

Tried doing that multiple times =s still hangs =/ and after 20-30 minutes of patience i just remove the cable, the phone never gets soft bricked or anything too
Did you also try different USB ports and different cable? You can also try a different PC if you have one

As for the ports, i tried every last one of them =s the only things i haven't tried are a different computer, and a different cable (since i have only one >.<).
I'll try them out and post back with results; thx for your help.
Let me know, hope that solves the problem

Yep, still hangs using a new cable =s at the same "initialisation" step..
I tried flashing a custom recovery, a custom rom, even just the CF rooting module but i always have odin freezing at the same step every single time.
i can't help but ask if i'm doing something wrong here >.<

OK, finally managed to use odin without having it freeze. As it turned out for me i just had to use the rear usb ports on my laptopt which i had compeletly forgotten they existed. And managed to root my phone. it's soft-bricked, but that's another issue for another thread i guess hehe thank you vevry much for your help

Try recovery mode, but probably it won't work neither. Try also removing sim and sdcard... In such cases, when you cannot start the phone in any mode, the Samsung service is the only solution...
ok. can it be done under warranty?
what do i say to samsungg service?

I guess this is covered by warranty... you can say the phone crashed after reboot or after using Kies.

I can possibly purchase the phone off you. If nothing can be resolved by yourselves!
Tell samsung it crashed while updating with Kies
hi guys,
I noticed something strange at my phone. It seems like it`s stuck at NG1 modem. If i try to install any other modem it will not boot up at all. Once I flash with Odin NG1 modem everything starts to work again. I tried like 4 modems and each one had the same issue.
Anyone has any idea what`s happening?
cheers,
change odin version and try khizar method....and finally shut down your phone during 10 secs and start directly in dl mode

tried that method already the issue is not that it`s not installing new modem , but my phone will not boot after this operation. Seems like it has a looked option m, or I don`t know. If I install NG1 boots fine , but any other modem doesn`t start at all...
sorry I don't know why...very strange in fact...
but there is no such difference between NG1 or NH1 , even NI3...
Yeah, flashing the modem was a pain in the ass in my case too. I had repeat the whole flashing procedure 4 times until it started working. I read somewhere that one should repeat the steps multiple times if it doesnt work.
I did it as follows:
-Tuned off the phone and took out the battery
-Startet odin 3.09
-Put the battery back into the phone, connected the (original) usb cable and booted into download mode right away
-Flashed the baseband with odin as usual
I literally did the same thing 4 times in a row, and then it worked. Don't ask me why, but give it a try. Maybe it works.

Recovery is not Seandroid Enforcing Odin isn’t detecting my phone, any suggestions?
I successfully rooted my phone and was trying to install the exposed framework and i guess downloaded the wrong one. When i flashed it i ended up getting into boot loop. I am on N910F with the 2 Network.
I have tried factory resetting with the caches but to no avail. The only other option i found was Odin, the problem is Odin is not detecting my phone when in recovery mode but seems to have no problem coming blue when starting up giving the 3 logo startup which just goes when it start looping again. I have tried 2 computers, a different cable although old and all my USB ports and the same thing keeps happening. I have already reinstalled Samsung USB Drivers times. I am wondering if they are any others.
Please Help

Are you connecting phone to Odin in Recovery mode or you mean to say download mode. You should put phone in download mode For connecting to Odin.

Thank you,
I just figured that out from some genius from Reddit Not 4 Thread. I guess the guy in the YouTube tutorial accidentally said "hold volume up" and so did everyone else I happened to come across which ended up wasting me a lot of time.
That was so lucky, because I really would have done some crazy stuff I didn't know about.
Thank you so much for taking the time to reply. Maybe I should contact the guy from YouTube to add an annotation or something.

Yes it was, the problem was I was given a bad tutorial and told to hold "volume up" to go into TWRP recovery instead of "Volume Down" into downloader.
Everything is working great now and my phone is working again.
Thank you for taking the time to reply. It's genuine people like you that make the internet great!

congratulations bro im happy cause ur phone fixed :victory:
somedays ago, i rooted my samsung galaxy grand prime (sm-g531f). which is processed by flash twrp via odin, & then flash supersu via twrp recovery.
after root, i erroneously add google account, so that frp lock was on. and top of that when i go to recovery mode its shown "custom binary blocked by frp".
so, solve this problem (bcoz i already solve this many time on many phone), i go to download mode, and i try to connect my phone via usb cable in pc, but everytime it say "usb device not recognized", but when my phone was switched on (before locked by frp), it also not recognized by usb but it was charging..
so, now:
*i cant switch on my phone
*cant go to recovery mode
*cant connect by usb cable
*i tried on many usb cables
*two laptops
*install/unistall samsung mobile drivers many times
but, nothing wasnt solved my problem..
if anyone also faced this problem, and solved this, please share your valuable process in this thread.. and help me...
Update-1: now i even change my phone's usb connector if anything could happen, but again my bad luck.. nothing happen, means usb not recognized..
Update-2: sorry i was offline or forgot to update my condition. I was tried to fix it via many mobile hardware technichian. And at last, i fixed my problem by change my whole motherboard. Bcoz, the all technichian told me that, it was my phone's cpu which have problem. For that, it couldn't recognize by any pc.
Do u have another samsung phone? If yes then try this connect that phone to your laptop or pc let it be recognised anf when thatd done removed the port from that phone and immediately connect your phone in download mode. This worked for me. If that doesnt work tell me ill look for another solution

This might be stupid but try it worked for many people. Boot your phone in download mode connect it to your pc open odin and without removing the cable remove the battery of your phone. Your screen wont go off , and if odin recognizes your phone put the battery back. It might not work but still give it a try

I'm having this exact problem also. I've downloaded usb drivers for Samsung, i've downloaded kies, ive tried 5 different computers and 4 different cords. No computer even recognizes it (but it does charge) and only one computer says couldn't recognize usb device.
Currently i'm stuck in the google loop of trying to login with an ID that you've previously used on this device and when i enter in the correct info it just keeps looping back to that screen, so i cant even get into the phone to debug or choose MTP connection etc.
The only reason i pulled out the grand prime and started working on it, was i rooted my s6 and s5 and i wanted to keep learning so i pulled out the grand prime and realized its powerful enough to run updated software so it doesn't have to be a paperweight anymore.
Me too I have same problem bro plz help me
FIX for FRP LOCK USB Not Working
The only way to fix that I have gotten to work is to download the stock firmware and Flash using ODIN. I had to try a few different cords but it will eventually work!! Keep trying!! I did the BL the AP the CSC and the CP, went into download mode and ONLY STOCK FIRMWARE works ok!

it took me a few minutes to figure this out after flashing Root with CF auto didnt work nor did TWRP. So I tried the Samsung Smartswitch and no luck..
hi ,did you find a solution to the frp lock and usb not recognising?
Hey, first time posting here but a long time lurker. Amazing community from what I've experienced.
Yesterday, my phone bricked out of the blue, not turning on and showing a rapidly blinking LED. It refuses to charge, and when plugged to a computer, it displays in the device manager as a Qualcomm 9008 device.
So far I've tried unplugging the battery once, holding down the power button for three minutes straight, holding down volume- and power button, and none worked.
Apparently, flashing the phone seems to work for a lot of people, but I cannot do it because my phone randomly disconnects and then reconnects to my computer, repeatedly. This happens every 20 seconds or so.
I've tried using different ports, uninstalling then reinstalling drivers, resetting my PC, using a different cable, but nothing helps.
I've got a big trip tomorrow, and I don't want to go away with a dead phone. What can I do?
Update: tried cleaning the phone's USB port and the USB itself, no luck.
You got into EDL mode, search for guides how to use it (basically install correct drivers, flash ROM, reboot).

I know it's in EDL mode and I've looked into every single guide I could find, that's why I'm posting here.
Nothing so far has worked and I'm trying to flash the phone to see if it works, since an user here posted a youtube video of someone using MiFlash to get the phone back working.
The issue is that my phone has micro-disconnects when USB plugged to my computer every 20-30 seconds, and because of that I cannot flash it.
Do you have correct drivers installed? Fastboot mode reboots after ~30s if there are no drivers installed. Might be the same for EDL.

I downloaded them from xiaomigeek (cannot share the link due to post count), as suggested in another thread.
Also I tried installing them automatically through Windows device manager, but I still have the same issue.
Hm, don't know then.. Maybe someone else experienced something similar and can help.
Small update, cleaning both the device and the USB ports with a brush and alcohol does nothing to prevent the "micro-disconnects".

Buddy those disconnects are not because of dirty port.. cleaning wont help..i actually had this problem with my first gen android phone it disconnects every 5 secs.. but once i hit flash in sp flash tool(mtk flasher) it stops disconnecting and starts receiving rom packets without problem

Any resources where I could try this on the Mi A1?
Edit: correct me if I'm wrong, but after a bit of searching it seems I'm not unable to find a guide because there isn't one, but because sp flash tool isn't compatible with my phone.
Use another pc may be. Or another USB cable

Tried both.
The cable doesn't seem to be the issue as a different cable yields the same results and another phone I've tested doesn't have any issues with it.
And I tried doing this on my laptop instead of my desktop PC, then on my roomate's PC, but the same thing happens.

Sp flash tool is for phones with mtk CPU's only brother.. could u try different pc? Or try flashing via cmd?
---------- Post added at 04:25 AM ---------- Previous post was at 04:21 AM ----------
Btwn have u tried flashing the phon via miflash? Or u didn't cuz it disconnects? Well what happened to me is *I didn't even try to flash the phone with sp flash tool for 5 straight months cuz i thought its impossible to flash when it disconnects like this...but when i finally consoled myself to give it a try it flashed all the way to 100% without any problem..uh the phone stops disconnecting once the software pushes few packets to the phone
I have the same problem :/
If take to warranty they ill help or not?
Go into edl mode. Edit xml file that store info about partitions. Select few necessary. (like bootloader & idk about what other partition needed for sure, but just telling you to exclude big partition like system. You do your research on that. May be cosmicDan can tell you what partition you need to enter fastboot)
Im hoping you will be able to flash small partition.
So you can get into fastboot. Then try to boot twrp in fastboot to flash all partition from twrp image shared in xda. (May be use memory card & flash twrp image from there)
Good luck
