Anybody experienced this problem? I need help! When I first got the XDA II MINI, the 1.3 mp pictures are quite ok considering a phone cam. After upgrading the camera ROM upgrade from seeo2.com, the 1.3 mp pictures got many obvious white spots, but the rest pixels pictures are fine...very weird !
Very strong sharpening might result in white pixels at edges. Thats an artifact of (too strong) sharpening and can be avoided by less strong sharpening.
Try a lower value at your sharpness setting.

Very good tip for me...changing the sharpness. Isnt it ironic that O2 actually made this ROM to enhance the sharpness, but when sharpness is enhanced to a new level at a capibility to "Sharpness value=15", the white spots is caused by it? Anyways, you saved me from flashing the original rom...I have almost done that! thx again!
XDAII Mini
Is this camera patch applicable / usable to the XDAII Mini?
Yes the patch works on the XDAII mini as well. It's a cab file that you can isntall on any Magician.
I didn't like this patch at all. I found the quality to be much worse after installing the upgrade, especially in night mode. Decreasing the sharpness to 5 still doesn't give the same quality as before.
When I get mine back from repair (broken external speaker :-( ), I will certainly NOT install the patch!
hello,
i love my tab but one issue has been bothering me.
in both gallery and in browser, picture quality is sub par.
even when i'm viewing a high quality jpeg from dslr camera, colors are saturated and the whole picture is pixelated especially when zoomed.
anyone else noticing this issue?
thank you!

is this because android 2.2 isn't designed for GT's screen size?
if anyone has any ideas or can referred me to a previous post that discusses this, i'll greatly appreciated it.
why don't you change the display: white, black and saturation balance on the display settings and also remove the check box from the "save power mode" ??...

Thank you, I didn't think to look there. That definately helps with the saturation issue.
However, all my images are displayed pixelated, especially when they are zoomed. Images are 18 megapixel jpegs and should be crisp on most displays. Same image looks better on my Blackberry!

Isn't your Blackberry going to have much smaller pixels anyway?

Don't use the built in gallery: it's horrible (well, just bad actually) for anything at a resolution different from the Tab's screen. Try something like QuickPic from the market, while it's slow, shows the images properly. Or if it's possible (i don't know) install the stadard Android gallery.

Or try Image Viewer from the Market. It's very fast and renders in high quality.
Great!
Thank you so much guys, 3rd party image viewers seem to be the solution.
Is there any tweak to make the picture quality become higher? I know there is tweak to increase the picture size but I was wondering if there is tweak to increase the picture quality.
there good apps for better pics, have tested Camera Fx,FV Camera and with this the pics are better as with normal app.

It may increase graphics quality of your cellular screen but don't do any thing for camera!!
But I found no change in my device with this bravia engine & also u may not!!
Try to use camera fx!! Which is better than stock one!!
For cellular screen quality you have to increase ur phone brightness!! Drains battery faster than before but it bright colours make the screen beautiful!!

I know that MP can not be increase its a hardware thingy ..what I mean is that quality can be fixed in photoshop or other software it only change coller depth and stuf so it looks a bit bether picture is stil 2MP .
There are still people out there that think they can increae MP
Never use camera in night mode (it'll noise), never use zoom foor better photos quality, use camera hack to hack the resolution if you wish to change it :good:
I haven't tried this, but check this out

My friend did this and also edited build.prop camera.preview.fps. from 15 to 30. He reports that this works fine.

Yeah we all are aware about the camera quality of our beloved N4. There is no such fix for camera(in terms of hardware and software).
BUT
you can try apps like camera zoom fx(paid) it is too cool for clicking pics with good quality. Try it yourself and see it satisfies your needs.
Press thanks if I helped you. :good:

Hello this can be fixed because i payed that phone 370€.........
Root your phone and flash the XCam advanced drivers. Using just the XCam apk itself won't cure your problem.

By night , the camera is slow and you show the 'pixels" on screen, but when you take photo with flash, the photos are good!
