Hey guys! I'm new here and I'd like to share with you the latest and probably the last official update N8000 will ever get (sad, I know - let's pour out the feelings of our souls together through Evanescence's Going Under [youtu.be/CdhqVtpR2ts]). It's the latest KitKat containing bug fixes and minor updates for N8000XXUDNE4. It was released in the middle of this year HOWEVER I'd like to ask you a favor in exchange. I can't download it here due to where it's been uploaded and my region's connection (more Evanescence!). Would you please upload a mirror on Mega for me? That'd be really nice and a great way to say thanks for this rom.

Sorry for the links
Don't forget to put the links in the propper way with "https://" in front of them. I just could't do it because I don't have 10 different posts helping users yet, which is kinda paradoxal since I must help people without giving links to anywhere. Also, I don't even know if I could post 10 different useful posts around here anytime soon.
I'm wondering if this kind of "update" could work on a N8010.
Any idea?
It would be nice to feel less in the past with my tab

Could someone make a "howto get back to stock FW" for the tab? Lots of howto's here, but no one that reverses the process. If someone also could decrypt the file here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=889165 and upload it, it would be great. The decodertest.exe does not work.
Thanks a lot!

Hello,
before I start
Flashing a device always comes with a certain risk - if you do not pay attention, you may end up with a device you cannot use anymore. For this reason,
* READ INSTRUCTIONS CAREFULLY ! *
If there are any videos, you can feel lucky + should watch them,
and follow the instructions step-by-step.
If questions do come up, I recommend to ask them BEFORE you flash being unsure if the settings are really ok. You can send me a PN or post in here
* * *
To go back to aka flash Stock Firmware for Galaxy Tab,
1) back up your files
2) go here: http://www.samfirmware.com/WEBPROTECT-p1000.htm
(if you have not yet registered for samfirmware, do it! Believe me, you will sure not regret it)
3) make sure to read the instructions
4) Download and read the PDF instruction guide in the link (especially the pages explaining how to pick the files for ODIN)
5) Watch the Video
6) Download: ODIN v1.7 & the appropriate Firmware for your device
- ! .. everything below here is also well described in the PDF guide .. ! -
7) Open ODIN, pick the files
(!) if you need to repair, make sure to also pick the .PIT file and tick re-partition (personally, I always flash with the .PIT file + re-partition when I flash a new firmware; only when I upgrade I do not flash the .PIT)
8) Switch the Tab to USB Debugging (Settings - Applications - Development - tick: USB debugging / go to: Yes in the pop up window)
9) Power Off the Tab
9a) I always take out the SIM Card and the External SD Card at this step
10) Start Download Mode (hold: Volume Down + then: Power, once screen starts release only the Power button; until you see the yellow droid with the shovel)
11) Connect Tab with the PC
12) now PC installs drivers & in ODIN: on the left hand corner there should be [COM:...] in yellow (this means: ODIN has recognized your device)
13) check once more if the appropriate files have been chosen in ODIN
14) once you are ready, click: START
15) ODIN will now flash - check the Message field on the left hand bottom
(!) don't run anything now, leave the PC and the Tab, and let ODIN do its work, it will take a few minutes
16) once ODIN is done it will say: "PASS" in green on the top left hand corner & the Tab will reboot
- the reboot will take longer than usual, let it fully reboot!
In my case, after flashing Firmware my Tab was in Russian language - I had to go to Settings and set my language to English (if you need help let us know)
Let me assure you that I have flashed two times using Firmware from SamFirmware.com and both times, everything went really well!
Thanks man! You're the best!
you are very welcome /
only a few days ago, I was sitting with my tab in my hands, the tab was stuck in boot loop, I was totally frightened of having ruined it .. asking myself exactly the same question: "How can I flash a stock firmware?"
.. Users sharing experience and helping each other out this is what this forum is here for
I followed your description and it seems everything went well! I still have a question, though; When I connect the tab with Kies, it says under "firmware information": This version of the unit can not be updated" (it's in norwegian, I have translated it so it might not be word-by-word the same as in the english version). The question is: how come?
When I now enter *#1234* the tab states:
PDA: P1000XWJMF
PHONE: P1000XXJMA
CSC: P1000SERJM4
Thanks!

I was inviting someone to research and study, then share their new knowledge. That is what pushes android development forward. My suggestion could have benefited many! At least I wasn't bashing anyone!
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kzi_U-fH5Us
That is amazing! Can I suggest adding a few key words in the description? No, nevermind, the title is perfect. Good work!
I was going to follow this guide to see if I can get my VZW USA Tab back to stock because it constantly force closes everything.. I just can't figure out if my firmware is on that website. It says if your from America you shouldn't flash any of those firmwares.. Is there any firmware that I can use for my Verizon Tab?

Absolutely please, go ahead!
Hmm, I was considering flashing my Verizon Tab as well with a custom ROM, but from what I am reading it still seems to be an iffy process.
If I were to go ahead and attempt it can anybody tell me if any of the ROMs out right now offer signifigant improvements over the stock? And since it is a Verizon Tab would the procedure for flashing a ROM as well as flashing back to stock be the same as the other carriers? Many kudos to the person who gave the detailed response about flashing back to stock, but I just wasnt sure if it applied to Verizon's version as well, as it's the Tab I've found the least info about.
Edit: Just for clarity, making the Tab into a phone isnt something I'm too concerned about...just wanted to slip that in as it seems to complicate the process of flashing these things much more.

Should I select (WIPE DATA/FACTORY RESET) ?

Will
This ROOT Method works for Rogers tab, Verizon's LTE tab and wifi Tab not sure for the rest. However, the recovery i will be posting here will only be usable for the lte tab. And to clarify i take NO responsibility if anything happens to your tablet.
Pre-steps: Download both files i have for you at the bottom of the post.
1. Take the root file that is on the bottom of this post and put that in the root of your tablet. then Rename it to "update" no need to write .zip at the end. Once done turn off your tablet.
2. Hold power button and volume up (volume down i think for the non LTE tablets) Just try either volume down or up but holding it with the power button. you will see The Samsung galaxy tab words. just keep holding it till you see the 2 images. recovery and download mode. what you want to do is click volume down so that you enter recovery. then using your volume buttons scroll down to update from zip.... choose the update zip file. let it do its thing. then reboots you.
3. when you boot up all the way go to applications then make sure you have superuser. if you do it worked. now you can flash your cwm recovery.
4. the file must be a .tar.md5
5. power off your tablet and power on while holding volume up or down whatever your case is. then go to download mode. and enter it.
6. Go tho this link : http://droidbasement.com/db-blog/?p=2668 and look for your model and download the recovery for that model. example : Download LTE (Odin; SCH-I905):
recovery.tar.md5
(the download will be here)
7. now go to the recovery zip i provided and unzip it. right click odin3 v1.85 and click "run as administrator"
8. click on PDA and look for the recovery file you just downloaded.
9. click start you should see a green bar and when it finishes you will reboot.
You are done enjoy your root and cwm
Sorry, have not the option update from zip i recovery on my P7500 ... Can not therefore run this update...
I have ICS 4.0.4...

Virus?
AVG is reporting that the Rooting-Samsung-Galaxy-Tab-10.1.zip file you posted is infected with the Android_dc.DCY virus. What's up with that? Specifically, it finds it in the Superuser.apk file. How might I obtain a non-infected version? Thx!

Samsung did not enable MTP USB in many of their software builds/upgrades including their 4.0.4 upgrade which prevents rooting. MTP WiFi was enabled but cannot be used to root the 10.1
After digging through XDA, there wasn't many root methods available to us Canadian users of the i9000m! This procedure roots your phone and installs ClockworkMod Recovery.
Requirements:
Your device must be running on the latest Gingerbread KG3 Firmware. If not, please update with Kies.
Samsung Drivers
1. Download the files (Found below)
Odin3-v1.85
KG3-CWM-Kernel.tar
2. Run Odin as an administrator. In Odin, select PDA and open the KG3-CWM-Kernel.tar file. Auto-reboot and F.reset should be the ONLY things ticked off. Do not close out of Odin.
3. Enter Download mode on your phone. Press VOLUME DOWN + HOME + POWER all together until you reach the download mode screen on your phone.
4. Plug in your download mode phone into the computer. Make sure Odin recognizes your phone. It will show up in the "ID:COM" on the left side to verify the connection. The text box should also say "Added!". Press start.
5. Do not touch your phone. Wait until your phone reboots to disconnect your phone. You should now see the new app SuperUser.
And that's it! This procedure will only take seconds. Now you can flash ROMS and update your phone to Jelly Bean.
To enter ClockworkMod, hold down VOLUME UP + HOME + POWER.
Thanks... was looking for that TAR file as a friend of mine wants to root his good ol' GS1
Works perfectly, Thank you.

You need to download the cf root from the android development section for your JW6 firmware.
Hey all,
I have tried searching about this on the forum, but I can't seem to find anything solid. And I'm a novice at that.
I made the mistake of auto updating my S5 to Lollipop and my phone is seriously laggy, wont respond at times battery drains very quickly etc etc.
I've looked into ways of downgrading back to 4.4.2 and I'm sure I can use Odin and possibly Kies.
Kies seems like the easier option, can you downgrade using it? Through Tools, then Firmware Upgrade and initialization? Or will it restore it to the current version 5.0?
Odin seems to be more difficult, I've seen comments on how it hasn't worked out and I don't want to muck my phone up I've only had it this year, this procedure wont void the warranty will it?
Going through SamMobile on country, my carrier is o2UK would I select o2 or BTU? As I'm sure my phone shipped unlocked. (bought it through o2)
Would I need to also download a 7Zip driver? Or use the stock one which comes with Windows?
I've backed the phone up using Kies3.0, I'm just scared about using Odin.
This may seem ridiculous to you, but I would really appreciate any help, or tips.
Thanks.

Reply to your questions:
Kies will not restore previous version of firmware. It will restore only current settings and what you have checked to be backuped.
Using odin will not void your warranty.
In About Phone - there is version of your number this is relevant if you want to flash original 02 rom.
Windows embeded zip functions are enough to unpack firmware.
Thanks for clearing that up,
So if anybody could please confirm I have the procedure down correctly?
1) back up device
2) Install Kies Driver
3) Download 4.4.2 o2 SM-G900F stock rom
4) unzip/extract Downloaded file
5) Install Odin v3.09
6) Unzip/extract Odin and run as administrator
7)Paste Md5 file in AP/PDA
8) Turn off device, and hold down vol/pwr to activate download mode
9) connect device to PC
10) First box should turn blue
11) click start
12) Couple mins should show pass
13) factory reset device from recovery mode
14) All done?
PLEASE let me know if I have missed something, or should do it differently.
Thank you very much
Anybody?
As far as I remember the procedure you wrote is pretty much correct. At the 8th point - it should be: 'Vol -' + 'Home' + 'Power'. And before clicking start in the odin make sure 're-partition' is not ticked. I did downgrade on my s5 couple of days ago - Lollipop is terrible... , but I encountered some problems... Just after turning on fresh and clean KitKat I turned off Android auto-update option and couple of minutes later - bang, phone is downloading the lollipop again. I'm furious. Any ideas?
That sucks! First thing I did after the download was turn off auto-update.
Hope this doesn't happen to me, seems pointless to do it otherwise.
I hope I don't muck this up
Can't add much to your list or what's been additionally suggested........
Except......
Make sure kies is NOT running......go to windows task manager and kill any processes that mention kies.
Turn off anti virus and firewalls before starting the flash.
Sent from my rooted kn0x0 SM-G900F S5
very helpful indeed, was looking for downgrading.

Hi guys, i'm here to share with you the Android Marshmallow 6.0.1 firmware for the SM-T715 (wifi and LTE version). It's an italian version of the firmware but it should work with other regions too. Here's the link for the download:
Link: http://www.sammobile.com/firmwares/download/70887/T715XXU2BPD6_T715OXA2BPD6_ITV/
Courtesy of Sammobile.
And here's a guide (written by miguimercadob, all credits goes to him) that you can follow also for our tablet.
1->Turn off your tab and boot it into the Download Mode. To do this, turn off your device and then press and hold Volume Down + Home + Power buttons simultaneously for 2-3 seconds. When you see the warning screen with a yellow triangle sign, press the Volume Up/Down key to enter Download/Odin mode.
2->Download the required Odin.zip file and extract the file on your PC. You will get the Odin3_v3.10.7.exe file. Open it as the administrator to get to the Odin window.
3->Connect your Galaxy device to the computer using the USB cable.
4->When you connect the device, the ID: COM port on Odin will turn Blue. You’ll also see“Added!!” message to indicate successful connection. If Odin des not detect your tab, try to reinstall drivers, try another usb cable and another usb port.
5-> Check "AP" box and click on AP. A window will pop up, just go to the folder where you extracted the firmware and select T715XXU2BPD6_T715OXA2BPD6_ITV.tar.md5 file (name may vary according to device model)
6->Now Odin is checking MD5 and will freeze for a minute or so, but don't worry, just let Odin work.
7->Click on the "Options" section and make sure that only the Auto Reboot and F. Reset Time boxes are checked. (Do not, in any case, check Re-Partition box).
8->Now, click the Start button on Odin to begin firmware installation.
10->Once you get a PASS! message on Odin, your device will restart. It’s the green signal that indicates a successful installation.
11->Once our device restarts, you can disconect it.
12-> Enjoy Marshmallow on our Tab s2 (First boot will last for some minutes, just be patient! )
That's all! Hope that everyone can update
**HOW TO ROOT**

Hi, Giuskiller, thanks for giving credits to me. Just one thing to say, people is asking for root, so it would be a good idea to add a link to my post so people can follow twrp and root instructions.

I currently have ee uk Android 5. So far only wifi tabs are officially rolling out MM. If I install this Italian version, and switch the language will I get any updates?

No this wont trip knox as you're just updating (at least my one is safe). And yes, my t-715 is LTE version, so no problems at all.
