My md5s match, between my Sammobile download, and my AFH upload, so we should be good to go. I haven't downloaded and installed, from AFH, though.

It's good to go bro. We both downloaded the tar from sammobile and got the same MD5 and since it matches when you re-upload it to AFH it's perfectly intact. Now to see if i feel like updating my rom. freeza swears OJ6 is a great update so i trust him when he says that.

Install custom recovery. Either flash a rooted OJ6 ROM or for rooted stock, flash custom kernel and SuperSU zip.
For rooted stock, you need to get rid of Knox and ItsOn.

Could someone please make a file for the baseband that can be flashed with flashify? Thank you in advance!
I can do that but the best method to get updated if you plan on running OJ6 software is to odin the stock OJ6 rom tar. It will update all of your partitions including the modem and apn patch. I am currently uploading two stock rooted OJ6 roms and they include the OJ6 modem. If your're running an AOSP/CM based rom and simply want to update your modem then i guess a stand alone flashable modem would be what you would need. If you still need the flashable modem pm me later tonight and i will whip it up for you.

Do not unzip the tar package and it will work fine. Also check the md5 once it downloads.
I'm getting bootloops after flashing via odin. MD5 matched. the only thing that I could think of is I didn't uncheck the auto reboot box and what not. Could that be the cause of the boot loops???? Thanks for your help!

Did you wipe with reactivation lock enabled or what did you wipe before Odin? What custom ROM and mods like Xposed were you running before Odin?
Have your tried factory reset in recovery and boot again?

Great. That eliminates reactivation lock being enabled. Must have been a wipe.
OJ6 is impressive so far. I'm running rooted stock Odex with Wanam Xposed framework. It's more compatible with subscribed services like Netflix and Google Play than the OB7 bootloader, OG5 ROM with OJ6 modem setup was; LOL.

Had the same problem, you are probably on MJA (eg. 4.3) and you can't Odin back to 4.2.2 (thats what samsung-updates.com/device/?id=SPH-L720 firmware links are); rwilco12 has the stock MJA firmware that you can flash over modem to get back to stock.
Rwilco stock MJA: rwilco12.com/downloads.php?dir=Files/Devices/Samsung%20Galaxy%20S4%20%28SPH-L720%29/Stock%20ROMs/MJA/Original%20TAR
So just flash with Odin PC and the mja tar too fully revert back to stock? I'm currently running cm10.2 mja

I was hoping to avoid doing the full flash again. I have seen some threads of some Nexus 7 members flashing the required files they were so kindly provided so they can move forward to the 4.4.2 update similar to my situation. If I can't then I guess I will have to suck it up and erase her info and start over.

This forum is for the Sprint Galaxy S4, and it seems you have the T-Mobile device. Here's a link to the tmobile forum: http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s4-tmobile
MK2 is the version number that is specific to Sprint. T-Mobile may have the same number or not. But all you need to do is download the .tar file for the latest 4.3 ROM that is available for your phone, put the phone in download mode, and flash via the ODIN utility that you can download as well. This is not a complete guide, so see the relevant threads in the TM forum. Alternatively, there may be a T-Mobile .tar for 4.4.2 that you can ODIN directly. It is up to you to see if it wipes data or not. The one for Sprint does.
Hi everyone,
My phone was acing kind of wonky after the 4.4.2 update so I wanted to start fresh from MK2 and OTA to 4.4.2 like I did before. I tried to odin back to MK2 via Odin and the stock MK2 tar but it immediately failed and now it states Firmware upgrade encountered an issue. Please select Recovery Mode in Kies and try again. If anyone has any ideas it would be much appreciated. I'm pretty sure the stock 4.4.2 tar would fix it right up but I dont see it on Samsung Firmware website yet. Thanks.
I don't think you can Odin back to a previous firmware, in this case from 4.4.2 to 4.3. I believe this was the same issue with going from 4.3 to 4.2. You will need the 4.4.2 NAE tar file to recover your phone.
Sent from my SPH-L720 using Tapatalk
kevin is correct there is no way I think it is due to keys of going back ( not sure if its keys but think it is heh ) anyways what you need to due is install the newest update before kitkat threw odin then you can update to kitkat now that the ota file is available for download.

That might be true. Was just trying to say you don't always need the latest to get it to work. Ex. I've used MK2 on 3.07 and 1.85 I believe. But yes he might have luck with the newest.

I was in this situation yesterday. Here's how I got out of it:
1) I downloaded the (unofficial) NAE tar from here: https://mega.co.nz/#!55cWBB6a!v1L7J2MfLMe-gjybYpNSbnDapIVaKtbEJngRQmBcsKU
2) I used Odin to flash it. It failed at the end of the system partition, but it appears to have succeeded for all of the other partitions.
3) I then used Heimdall to flash just the system partition again, and it succeeded. I rebooted, and all was well. You may try Odin a couple times to see if it succeeds, but I didn't have the patience.
Hopefully that will get you up and running again.
Hi everyone,
Thank you for all your responses. I was able to recover after finding muniz_ri post here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=50345826&postcount=224 I used his Tar file and easily recovered from there. It rebooted twice while setting up but everything has been smooth sailing after that. Hopefully others can benefit from this information as it was kind of lost in that thread. Again, thank you to everyone for your help.

Pardon my ignorance. But assuming you are rooted now with TWRP can you just update OE1 to OG5 and then flash BeastModeStock1.0-N910P-OG5.zip to get root back? or is it more complicated than that.

It is slightly more complicated. If you're saying update with this stock tar, yes but in addition to TWRP and Beastmode kernel, you still need to flash the SuperSU zip to root. And then there's the need to reapply your debloat, getting rid if Knox and ItsOn and any compatible mods.
Or just update with the tar (drag it out of the zip to a folder prior to flash in Odin), Odin TWRP and flash custom pre-rooted OG5 ROM. Not to get technical but you had it right if you add SuperSU zip to your question unless you were asking if you could just flash a OG5 ROM in recovery. I wouldn't recommend that. Clean install is also recommended.
Here's a step by step guide if you have problems.

I wasn't sure if userdata applications were wiped or not.
Did you have to do anything special to get Android Pay to work with root? What were your steps and applications used? Standard AP apk or the one recommended for root users?
Or did you just flash stock tar, setup AP and then root?
Trying to get to the root of the issue others have. I hear rooted stock works with AP but others are having issues with custom ROMs.
