I have an p700 with cm10( last version ), cmw touch last version, crossbreeder and first version of custom kernel (without oc). Run perfectly until yesterday. I intended to flash new kernel (V4). Battery was at 9 percent full. Reboot in recovery mode and... shock ... black screen. My phone is dead. Nothing... no power, no joy....
Thank you for help...
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using Tapatalk 2
did your charge it? did it boot? can you enter recovery or emergency?
and why did you flash with only 9%?!?

From my experience with p500 (optimus one) 9% battery it more then enough for flash an kernel ... but it seems that 9% was not for real (first version of custom kernel has problem with battery status). Anyway ... after I downloaded the new kernel (v4), from reboot menu (cm10) I gave the reboot recovery command ... "Rebooting now" ... and ... instead of recovery mode, the phone was powered off. So I never got to flash ... Now it's dead, does nothing ... No power (with or without battery and the power cord plugged in), no recovery mode, no emergency mode, no charging.
I used original charger (0,75 A), after that an Samsung charger (1 A), after that an Logitech charger (1.5A).
I tryed to charge with my laptop from USB 2.0 port and 3.0 port, and with my desktop computer ( USB 2.0, 3.0 )... All I've got is THE BIG NOTHING.
Thank you for replay...
It just happen to Me..!
Recently it works fine and I did nothing..
Battry on 66%, and try to refresh the system via reboot.
Few seconds, screenlight turn off.
I've keep waiting. it usualy showing LG logo after 10seconds.
But nothing happen.
Try to power on and also try CMW shortcut.

Unfortunately, the only way to bring it to life is JTAG. I paid ~ 35Euro for JTAG-ing.
damn
damn i want cm10 too, bet im to scared with bootloader unlocking etc after reading posts...
Its happend to me too and i found a way to get out there
Tip: NEXT TIME DO NOT INSTALL ANY KERNEL!!!
This is the solution:
1. Download LG Optimus L7 USB Driver for Windows | Mac
Download official LG Optimus L7 stock firmware from this page. The file would be a .kdz file. Download the appropriate firmware according to your network provider and country.
3. Download KDZ updater and install it on your computer.
4.The zip file has a Microsoft XML parser, make sure you run it as an administrator and restart your PC. This will solve the wparam 100 and lparam 6 issue mentioned in a comment below.
5.The next step is to put your phone into emergency mode. To do this, remove the battery of your phone and re-insert it (don’t turn it on). Press and hold Volume Up button and Volume Down button. While you are pressing the two buttons, press the Power button. So now, you must be pressing all three buttons together. See this video
6.Your phone will boot into emergency mode and you should see a yellow screen with Emergency mode written on it.
7.Pick up the USB Cable and connect your phone to the computer via the USB Cable.
8.Run KDZ updater as Administrator.
9.Choose the following options in KDZ Updater: Type: 3GQCT Phone Mode: DIAG and KDZ file is the one you downloaded in step 3.
*image:
http://www.hackmyandroid.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/09/Root-LG-P350-LG-Update.png
10.Re-check with the image above and ensure that you have the appropriate settings on the KDZ updater.
11.Take a deep breath and click on “Launch Software Update” button.
12.This process is usually long. It take quite a long time for the firmware to be flashed on your phone.
13.If everything goes well, you will see “Finished” written in the log screen and your phone will change to switched off mode from Emergency mode.
14.The next time you turn it on, your phone will take a lot of time to reboot. Stay Cool! its normal.

It is not possible to run that file as an administrator. I tried on 3 different systems: Win 8x64, Win 7x64 and Win 7x32. I have a logo stucked but after few seconds it plays the sound and logo does it's animation then same static logo and then it stucks. Is there any solution besides j-taging? Does warranty service cover this as a defect and repair for free?
Thanks

Try hard reset :
1. When the phone is switched off, press and hold the Volume down key + Power key with your left hand.
2. When the LED on the bottom of the phone lights up, touch and hold the Menu key with your right hand. You need to do this immediately, before the screen displays the LG logo. Make sure your left hand is still holding the Volume down and Power keys.
Then release the power key at vibration time.
3. When the LG logo is displayed on the screen, continue to hold the keys for around 2 seconds, and then release all
them at the same time, before the LG logo disappears.
Leave your phone for at least a minute while the hard reset is carried out. You will then be able to switch your phone back on.
Caution: If you perform a hard reset, all user applications and user data will be deleted. This cannot be reversed.
Hi,
one day, I changed the permission of /system/font by accident:
e.g. I changed:

others......V.....................V
to

user........V..........V..............
group.......V.........................
others......V.........................
After that, I can't turn on my phone anymore T.T
When I press the power button, the LG logo appears, and then vibrate, logo disappear, after a few seconds the logo comes back and that's it!
It just stays there (I waited for 2 hours and it didn't change,so I turned it off)
Please help~

Enter download mode, and flash your firmware like this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2409308 or just open LG Mobile Support Tool and select "Recover Phone". It does the same thing but it's easier.
Nothing's lost, you'll get it fixed.

My guess is 20A is ICS, 10C is the first release of Gingerbread, and 10E whatever update they did to it. If you're not sure, go with the LG Mob Supp Tool, it's safer and easier.

Did it work before with the exact firmware update you had? Remove the battery of your phone and re-insert it (don’t turn it on). Press and hold Volume Up button and Volume Down button. While you are pressing the two buttons, press the Power button or insert USB cable (try both if it doesn't work). Or try with: phone off, volume down + insert cable. I don't know the exact combination for your phone.

Even if you can't go to download mode you'll still be able to use kdz on it. just plug it in and start it. And btw, be careful next time. My Optimus L7 got hard bricked and I needed to go to LG for them to fix it.
Hey guys,
So I got my G2 today and rooted it using the recommended root thread(IOroot10). It completed successfully and installed SU onto my device. It didn't actually ask for any permissions when i opened it and when I attempted to update the binaries it fails because I never get the toast about granting permission. So I factory reset and tried again. It didn't work the second time either. I thought maybe it's because I didn't take the latest OTA, so I factory reset one more time, took the OTA, and am now stuck in boot. I can't get to any recovery or download mode.
The phone boots the LG logo then gives me a boot loader secure check real fast that it fails. After that it goes to a black screen and there's nothing I can do.
When I plug the phone in and let it get to the black screen, it creates a ton of virtual USB drives (16 to be exact). The first one contains a write protected folder named image which contains the files modem.bxx, mlserver.bxx, mc_b2.bxx, adsp.bxx, cmnlib.bxx, dxhdcp2.bxx, isdbtm,.bxx,
mba.bxx, playread.bxx, tqs.bxx, wcnss.bxx, widevine.bxx, where the xx in .bxx is replaced with sequences of 00 up to 26 in some cases. The rest of the drives it creates are empty.
Any sign of a recovery is completely gone, and I have no idea where it went
This is what appears in the top left of the screen when the LG splash pops up for a split second and goes black

-Hold Vol Up + Down and plug phone in (doesn't work)
-Power on, press Vol Up at vibrate (doesn't work)
+The phone never makes it to a point where I can ADB into it. I get the splash screen(with error) and straight to the black screen.
+Completely drain the battery and plug it back in to charge up. I end up with the same issue.
+Fastboot will not recognize the device, so flashing the recovery that way isn't an option.
-Could be a driver issue, but I think the phone just never makes it to a point where I can use fastboot.

Perhaps I'm missing something in that thread, but none of it applies to me.
The link to the other thread for if you can't get into download mode only talks about having TWRP installed on the device, which I don't.
And the rest of it is if you have ADB access, which I don't as well.

To get into download mode the G2 needs to be connected to the computer and upon turning on immediately press volume up. Compared to other devices, it's a weird way to do and may take a couple of tries to successfully boot into.

I'm still having no luck. I've read nearly 4 different ways to enter download mode for the vzw version and none of them have worked yet.
Holding the power button itself just restarts the device and it heads right back into the black screen. If I continue to hold the power button after it restarts, I get the LG splash again and then it shuts off.
It seems like the stock recovery is completely gone, but I don't understand why I wouldn't be able to get into download mode because of that.

truckroot, that does indeed work, I actually messed with my build.prop file today and it soft bricked my phone. It would turn on you'd see the LG logo and a black screen, man I was livid. So later I was going to to have it replaced under warranty, I called Verizon and what not and he told me to press this button combo and I got straight into CWM, holy crap that was quite an easy fix for me. Here is the key combo under "Alternate Method"
http://support.verizonwireless.com/support/devices/knowledge_base.html/87344 Hope it helps in some way, if the other ways still won't work for you.

turn your phone completely off: unplug it from the usb and hold down the power button for like 20sec. the phone should not be turning on or doing anything. then press and hold the power plus volume down. as soon as the lg logo pops up, let go of those 2 buttons and immediately press and hold power + volume down again. this should being up an all white screen with black letters. now press the power button 3 times til you get to "factory resetting". this should boot you into twrp. from there you can do whatever you want. this time do not take the OTA. hehe.
the drivers for your phone will be on lg's g2 site. make sure you've installed those with your phone unplugged from usb. if you have a previous driver installation, uninstall that. the lg drivers have the adb driver inside of it. also make sure you are using the most up to date adb.exe. if not then it may not be able to communicate with your phone. you can get that from android's sdk.

The fact that you see anything, is a good thing. Let battery completely die, and then plug into USB while booting to download mode. I had VERY similar issue and that's worked for me, then flashed to stock.
Sent from my g2 using xda app-developers app
With your phone on, and in recovery (twrp), plug it into your computer.
Open device manager.
Look for a disabled/uninstalled (marked with yellow) device that corresponds to tour device (in my case all it said was D800).
Choose properties/driver/update driver.
From here, you have to choose all the manual options ("let me choose the driver to install"), not automatic, .
Finally Windows should show you a list of device drivers compatible with your device.
choose the LGE (or androidnet) Single Sooner ADB ...
Let it install
Test your ADB interface (ADB Devices).

Sounds identical to the problem I had. It's like a REAL slow bootloop. If you catch it just right, can you get it to factory reset? And then from there, it just does the same thing?

What do you get when you hold the power button for longer than 15 seconds (force shutdown), then power it back on (hold power for a few seconds, then release)?
If you have a fully non-booting device, warranty it, of course blame it on the update.

turn the phone completely off. unplug it from the usb/charger. while the phone is off, hold down volume up then plug in the usb/charger. you should automatically see download mode pop up. if that happens then you can return back to stock by googling howto's. if not then you will have to take it in.
no devices when you plug it into computer in that state?
Hopefully none of that text at the top of the screen mentions root or modified system.

Hi guys,
I recently installed Simple ROM (Stock Android 5) for my G2 D802 however, I've found a need to downgrade back to 4.4.2. I went to flash a stock rooted 'H' version of the ROM which i've used before however during the flash, I got the error 'error executing updater binary' during the process.
After searching on google, it seems that I needed a newer version of TWRP (I had to change to a 'bumped' version to install the Simple ROM).
Having flashed 2.8.4 of TWRP, I rebooted the device however I now have the following issues:
- The device boots, shows the LG logo and the LED flashes
- The device never finishes it's boot
- I can not access recovery mode using the key combinations required
- The device doesn't seem to turn 'off'. When I press and hold the power button, the screen goes blank (though, still on) and then shows the LG logo again
I suspect, that because I cannot turn it off, I cannot boot to recovery.
Any thoughts on a quickfix?
EDIT: - It seems that I CAN turn the device off by holding vol UP, DOWN and POWER for a few seconds. I can get into download mode this way..

Make sure you're trying both combinations possible for recovery, PWR + VOL DWN > PWR + VOL DWN method as well as the PWR + VOL DWN > VOL DWN + VOL UP method. You may be on a different recovery then what you think (happened to me once). The fact you can enter download mode is great however, worst case you can always return to stock.

Thanks for this. I've tried recovery both ways, and neither work unfortunately. I'm going to plug it into PC Suite and see if that picks anything up, failing that i'll grab a kdz. :/

Okay good luck. Make sure you grab your kdz file from a site like http://www.lg-firmware-rom.com using your IMEI.

Not going so well.. Installed everything on my Windows machine but it doesn't seek to pick up the device in download mode.
If I select 'Read phone information' on the Flash tool, it stops responding and I end up needing to close it. Also, in the Flash tool, what should I select under 'select type' - it defaults to CDMA..
I can skip the 'read phone info' bug and just hit START which then loads the 'select country and language' view, then the LG Mobile Support which doesnt pick up the device.
help?

Have you installed the LG Drivers? Link
If you have, when your phone is connected open device manager on your PC and see if you can spot your android device, or anything that represents your device.
Everything you need to select is in that thread I Iinked you too.
You dont need to change anything within the tool, keep cdma selected and just make the language english, you can keep the country on korea it doesnt matter.

Yup AFAIK everything is installed. The device was picked up by the machine as it did ask me install more drivers.
The main issue seems to be sat with the LG mobile support tool. It continuously fails due to an error and nothing progresses on the device itself.
The only thing i've noticed is that the bottom of the device screen, shows 'B18' and 'Rooted'. The B# keeps increasing, though?

The B is just your current battery percentage. It will increase as it gathers charge from the USB connectivity, nothing to worry about.
As for why there's no communication between the software and your phone, I can't explain that but it's obviously looking like a driver problem. Try opening the LG Flash Tool log file found in C:\LGMobileUpgrade\log.txt.
Copy and paste the entire log onto pastebin and I'll have a look at it for you.

Ah good. Thanks!
See below - There were 2 log files, this is the most recent..

EDIT: further to this, i've looked at the LG mobile support tool on it's own.. That seems to get a lot further than when it's called upon from the update tool. However the battery is now too low.

May I suggest putting your kdz file in the LG Flash Tool folder.
Also does the LG Flash Tool stay at 0% or does it increase before failing? May I also suggest trying this on other Operating Systems if at all possible.

I'll give that a go in a moment.
The Flash tool increases several times before failing. Is there a Mac version of the flash tool?

Not that I'm aware of. Have you tried a hard reset?
Take your phone and turn it off.
Wait while your device is shutting down.
Then, press volume down button and power button together until the LG logo appears on the screen.
When the LG logo is displayed, let go of the power button, keep pressing the volume down key and then press once more the power button.
Once you do that, on your LG G2 the factory reset menu will be displayed.
Press power button in order to agree and wait while the hard reset is being completed.

That requires booting into the recovery though right? I can't get to that point. So yes, i've tried that but the LG logo just shows, and does not get to the reset or recovery screens.
The device just sits at the LG logo screen with the LED pulsing and changing colours.

No, you could just do it while the phones turned off.
Instructions to do a Master Reset with Hardware Keys can be found here.
The only other option I can give you is attempting the old manual kdz method found here, sorry .
All fixed - first time.. Issue was down to a crappy Windows machine at the office.. Thanks for your help.
