Hello,
I have an A500 with 8GB, bought in USA nov 2011.
it is currently running Thor/TegraOwners ICS ROM v164 (with CWM recovery)
my back-facing camera stopped working and I would like to go back to stock to send the tablet in for repairs.
I got the full stock firmware from here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1113878 (Acer_A500_0.000.00_4.010.10_COM_GEN2_1310535068614_9b84abb1)
unfortunately, I'm not having much luck flashing this :| ... I decrypted the zip and extract the update.zip and put it on the sdcard.
-tried applying update.zip through CWM ... no luck (it extracts but nothing happens)
-tried installing stock recovery using 'acer recovery installer' ... no luck (i get the android with exclamation mark when i try to go into recovery)
acer recovery installer shows bootloader version 3.01
any ideas ?
thanks

First off, get your UID number just in case you need it. You can get it in the Dev forum (sticky). Always have your UID written down somewhere.
Then go to the "all files" Sticky thread in the Dev forum. Where they have all the Acer roms and updates.
Download 2 or 3 of the a500 ICS Update files. These are full update files.
Decrypt them if needed, then pull the update.zip out. Copy to EXT SD Card, and boot holding Vol+ and PWR till you see the text about installing, then release.
Might have to try more than one, but eventually one should install. These are full update roms, not patches.
Should give you a stock ICS. Hey, check your camera, might start working again

Can this new zip be flashed atop the 4.4.4 retail ROM, just like the first zip? Ignore that. I just found out it needs to be flashed atop 5.0, which I already have. Upgrading to 5.0 now.
Hey, this new update also contains a gpt.bin inside it – that means it updates the partition table too. May this perhaps be an anti-downgrade strategy?
Is this an official update or another soak test?

As there are several reports of people getting / not getting update - those that have it CAN help other by doing this BEFORE you install it.
Download the OTA software update BUT DO NOT INSTALL it!! - it self deletes upon install.
With a ROOTED DEVICE, use a root explorer app and go to /cache folder inside the root folder of the phone and copy the downloaded ZIP file to your emulated SD card
then copy it to your PC - do not rename it as it's name shows what version it will upgrade from (yes from -this confuses people)
then upload to server of your choice and post and the link to this thread
The OTA will be named like Blur_Version.xxxx.zip
As I said, you need a ROOTED DEVICE to do this, and then you will need to unroot your device to install update -after you have saved it and linked to this thread

update to LXB22.99-16 via my signature then if OTA comes through, download install it or manually install via stock recovery
Both version of retail ds ds stage fright patch 8mb (LXB22.99-16) and 133mb (LXB22.46-28) update the phone to the SAME final version of LXB22.99-16.3 (note the extra .3 on end)
therefore if you are on LXB22.46-28 and have NOT got OTA update, you can jump the queue by installing my easy installer version of LXB22.99-16 and then manually apply patch blu_versionxxx.zip
Right this is how to install for ANY GLOBAL XT1068 running LXB22.99-16 Retail / Now working with Brazil LXB22.99-16
LXB22.99-16 is build number for the rom with system version 22.41.16 - THEY ARE ONE AND THE SAME.
You need to update to 5.0.2 LXB22.99-16 STOCK ROM to have the correct RECOVERY or this patch will NOT even start to install - it will also check system version when installing
I have been told you must be UNROOTED or phone hangs on boot logo once patch applied.
These 2 things are therefore are a must, STOCK OEM motorola Recovery (LXB22.99-16) and UNROOTED phone.
1) you must be on LXB22.99-16 this was the latest FULL version of 5.0.2 feb 25th - ALL xt1068's can run this - as it has drivers for BOTH types of front cams. ( Brazil has it own version of LXB22.99-16 )
2) copy the blur_version.zip to internal storage on XT1068 - pick correct one from attached files below
3) forget going to settings and checking for software - it wont show
4) reboot into AP fastboot mode then use vol down to select recovery and volume up to select you should see after a small wait with black screen a fallen android with red triangle - then hold power and quickly tap vol up - you should now be in recovery
5) choose apply update from sd card then choose blur_version xxx.zip
6) it will install if you are on correct lXB22.99-16
the new version is LXB22.99-16.3 system version 22.56.3.titan_xxxx released wed august 26th and yes still 5.0.2
Well I've Blur_Version.22.21.28.titan_retaildsds.retaildsdsall.en.03.zip on my sdcard. Where should I upload it?

Thanks. The steps are clear enough. For stock unrooted phones either we download the file from your link or directly upgrade the OTA way.
Your link will help those who have not received the OTA update yet.
After flashing stock recovery,I tried unrooting the phone from inbuilt unrooting option of SuperSU but this does not work. You need to be on stock to match the keys. Some how the fingerprint changes if you modify the system. OTA is installed only when the fingerprint of phone rom corresponds to that of the stock rom.
Cheers..

I have rooted my P8Lite with B608.
Today was released a new upgrade: b610 (upgraded security patch)
I put the update.app in my sd but when I make the Upgrade by ProjectMenu, my phone boots into TWRP.
How can I upgrade?

I have sloved by these steps:
New firmware downloaded
Put the upgrade.zip into SD
Going to TWRP/recovery mode and flashing it.
Then, re-install TWRP o your custom recovery by adb
