I am having some trouble with my 4gb card in my XV6800. I have had it since January and been happily adding things to it and deleting them at will. Now I am having a problem with it however. I can add things to it through My Computer etc on windows and it shows up fine. But after a few hours when I go back into it on File Explorer on the phone any changes I have made are not in effect.
This includes both things that I added that are not there, and things that I have deleted that re-appear. Any ideas? It is not helping my wanting to install cabs and set up my UC config as you can imagine.
I know that they are transferring at some point because I m,anaged to install a cab from there last night, this morning, the original cab and folder is gone.
I'd suggest backing up everything currently on the card first, then formatting it using a card reader. Once the format completes, restore your files and see if your problems still exist.
P.S. Any microsd card <= 2gb will work for flashing. Anything > 2gb won't.

I agree with this... backup your storage card, and format it using software on your device such as CNETX FlashFormat... that seemed to do the trick when I was having issues related to the Storage Card
I was getting the error" file protected". I did lots of research, tried to format it in both my phone and laptop to no avail. I used diffrent software, nothing gave. Some people claim that putting clear tape on the SD adapter lock did the trick for them. Anyway, I contacted SD as my last resort, got an RMA and now I am awaiting a replacement. I did a back up and transferred all to 1 GB that I had as a back up.
FYI
I used SD Formatter V2.O and Hard disk Wipe tool (hddguru.com) , Format claimed to be successful but data was always there. This started after I installed TOMTOM maps on the card. Good luck man
there is a cab to enable sd cards over 2GB for the titan
i suggest some searching, if i come across it ill post the link
I have Tom Tom on my card, but then I have done from the start and I have only had the problems pretty recently. My computer wont read the card in the built in card reader in my computer, but it reads the new 1gb one fine.
Also, the phone does recognize it because I can play music off it, I just cannot add files to it or delete from it.
I have tried to format it with CNETX FlashFormat and it doesn't seem to work, everything is still on there as before.
Very annoying, I am going to contact SanDisk
Good idea man, it sounds like you have the same prob I do. Try putting tape on the protection switch on the adapter. It didn't work for me but who knows!
Hi Guys, just bought meself a new 16gb micro sd card.
How can I transfer or make an image of the old card to the new one? I have many installed applications on my old card, I don't want to go through the daunting process of having to reinstall every single application.
Any help would be appreciated.
Copy the contents of the old card to your computer, then write them back to the new card.
Everything should work just the way it did before.
as above, just copy everything to the new card, , , just make sure you have hidden and system files visible before you copy/paste them.

Although you can transfer an image from one card to another its really not recommended for the stable running of the device especially after a ROM flash.

Moving your stuff from one card to another has absolutely no influence on how the device runs. Unless the new card is defective, of course
Thanks guys, am abroad at the moment. The moment I get home, I'll try as you suggested.
Thanks again

That's just wrong!
You may get away with it but all settings and associations will be for the previous ROM and could be totally inappropriate!
WTF, we are on about moving stuff from one card to another.
Nothing to do with ROMs!
Your storage card is only for storage - ie it does not matter if you copy your files from (lets say) a smaller SD to a bigger one.
possible complications: having programs installed on the sd card.... here you could get error messages when you take the card out for the copy process. Nevermind them though as you take the card out, do your copying and then shove the new card back in....
after that just do a safety reboot and you should be fine

Then you obviously didn't read what the thread was about.. The guy just has a new card and wants to copy the contents of the old one to it. Nothing about ROMs, settings etc...
Put my old card into the comp, copied everything, pasted into a folder on the desktop then dropped it all onto my new card, put it back in the phone, turned it on and everything works fine

The OP mentioned installed apps on a mem card and excuse me but that DOES have something to do with ROMs.
Now you are wrong!
And before this goes any further you all believe what you want and do what you want because there's none so blind as those who will not see.
I shall not be posting further after those sort of comments, hollinshea!

No! A storage card is just that, a disk with a filesystem and files on it. If you copy the same files onto another card, there's no way the system can even see anything has changed, apps or no apps. It's not about deleting/adding stuff, just having exactly the same data.
We don't "believe" anything - it's just how it is.

+1 on this.
I need a little assistace please.
I have 16Gb card from day one with Leo, and installed over 80 apps on it, and many my docs settings and so on.
What would be the safest way to trasfer everything as it is to new 32gB card.
use somenthing like norton ghost? i thing just copy and paste wont work, and i would like to avoid that.
Thanx for any helpful advice.
Personally, I would use copy & paste. Either connect your device as a USB drive, or use a card reader. Copy everything from the root of the card to a folder on your PC, then swap the cards and copy everything back. It should just work - nice and simple.

i got an error in few seconds...
some file reported an error, and copy process stopped...
it would be easy, i know, but i just does not work...there are (i guess) some 10000 files on that card, and chances are some are garbled.
so i would avoid filesystem alltogether and try to clone, and if that does not work, then c/p folder by folder if it does not go other way.
I connected my HD2 as a drive, copied the entire 16GB card to a folder on my PC, formatted the new card, copied everything back, absolutely perfect.
Yep, disk drive mode, or just put the card in a USB card reader. I just did that for 8-> 16GB swap. There's no "better" solution.

I do hope you bought that 32 GB card from a reputable source.
Many fake 32 GB cards are sold on sites like ebay.

No, the errors are probably due to the fact that your HD2 was running apps that are located on the SD and are 'locked' that way. So they will not be copied...
Just take the SD-card out, put it in a card reader of some sort and just copy & paste everything to a hard disk, and copy it to your new SD card. Should work 100%.

Did you enable "show hidden files" in your file manager on your PC? Sounds as if you havent copied all the hidden files.

i bough it from sandisk dealer here in Zagreb. and guy is allso my friend from way back, so i got it at allmost factory price...about 70 euros.
SD card only works 2/16 gigs
Might be unrelated, but I could use some help with my microSDHC 16gig and 8gig
I've used a card reader and the phone itself via activesync to copy files. Once I fill up to past 2gigs of files, any additional music or video file no longer functions and weird symbols appear in my folders and I guess you call it "corruption"
I've formatted and scanned for errors and still the same thing happens.
What is up?!

Yep. I had the exact same thing with a "8GB" memory stick, that turned out to actually be 1GB.
according to my knowledge, u can't copy like that, u need to hardreset your device and then using new microsd.
may be I am wrong, but it happen last time when I am using omnia i900. and it might be every sdcard has the different id.
or check with flash memory toolkit, it will show the information of ur micro sd

Definitely not mate - you must have had a problem with something if you needed to hard reset to swap SD cards. One of the selling points of most up-to-date devices is "hot-swapping". Did you maybe have encryption switched on?

You need TeraCopy, its free and great, replaces stupid windows crap copy function.
I looked at some other threads, but none I've seen tell me if I'm going to need to redo the process w/ cyanogen.
Others were saying to copy and paste the contents of the old card to the other, will the Nandroid backup I have take care of it or do I need to just stick w/ Windows Explorer?
Also, after it's copied, will my Cyanogen still be on the phone (I thought the SD card was just storage)?
Any help is appreciated. Thanks in advance.
Ok, I just got the card delivered and tried it out.
Like I was thinking, it's just storage, so copy the contents of the old card to the new, and you have those same directories...so no problems.

Just make sure you have your pc set to view hidden files/folders or those might be missed.
This problem started about 4 months ago.
I have been using Android on my HD2 since the SD days and since i started NAND flashing 3 different roms have now deleted my complete gallery & music.
Why is this happening? Every other file is intact and the SD card is fine.
Last night my SD card wasn't readable by the phone after this happened, worst case so far.
I formated now and flashed a new ROM.
If this happens again i am done with this HD2 bull**** and i am getting a galaxy s2.
I have never lost my vids, imgs! Have u tried another sd card?
This is a premium brand authentic one.
Shouldn't be the cards fault
Please provide more details. Check and scan your media files (vids, music) for malware on pc before copying them to sd card coz my friend had same problem;his whole gallery, media files used to get deleted after copying to sd card! GoodLuck!
Make sure there is NO ".nomedia"-file in root folder of sd-card. Some app's create such file and after rebooting your phone no media-app is scanning folders which include a file named ".nomedia"

"Shouldn't " doesn't mean "isn't",, it "shouldn't" be the hd2, but you're happy enough to believe that it is,, its a premium brand, authentic phone, which seems to be enough for the card, why not the phone? There are no similar "my hd2 wiped my perfectly good SD card" claims elsewhere that I've seen, ,but there ARE "my perfectly good SD card screwed up and everything has gone" threads.
There probably isn't an easy way to tell, only keep regular backups and keep an eye on it.
