[Q] Hide Apps from the App Drawer?

In Launcher Pro (or any other launcher with a 3D App Drawer that doesn't suck), can apps be hidden? I don't mean apps like bloatware apps, I mean apps that I don't want others to see. Can they be hidden?
GO Launcher EX can do it. It's free and my preferred launcher app, but some people don't like it.

[Q] Hiding apps without 3rd party launcher?

Do anyone know a way to hide an app without using a special launcher? Is there a terminal hack or something?
I been searching for a while and surprised that i haven't found much on this subject.
Not possible. You'll need to use a 3rd party launcher to hide apps from your app drawer.

How to get a custom launcher without rooting

If you are afraid of rooting but don't like the Kindle launcher there is a simple thing you can do to get a custom launcher without rooting and voiding your warranty
1. Download Applanet from http://www.applanet.net/ to your Kindle. That app lets you install 4rd party applications without rooting, and you can use it to install other apps you can't get on the Amazon Appstore
(Make sure the option to allow the installation of unknown applications from the settings)
2. Open Applanet and search for ADW Launcher EX (Normal ADW launcher doesn't work). Download, install and click "Done"
3. Click the Home button and you will be asked which launcher you want to use, click ADW and BOOM, you're good to go!
Now there are a few things.. Because of the screen size, icons are small and widgets are smaller, so its good to resize the widgets to fit the screen, but at least you have the launcher, a real app drawer, widgets, etc. Happy Using!

How to remove "Connect to Goodreads" in app drawer

After installing a 3rd party launcher such as Apex or Nova on my Fire HD 10 2017, there is an icon in the app drawer named "Connect to Goodreads". The icon is just the word "fire" in big orange letters. The app info shows "Device Setup version 1.0.312.2_4040710". Opening the app prompts to create or connect to a Googreads account. This item does not appear in the Fire Lancher
I would like to remove/disable this item from the app drawer. Does anyone know how? It seems like it might be tied to com.amazon.kindle.otter.oobe.
I know I can "hide" it in the app drawer in Nova or Apex, but I'd prefer to eliminate it if possible.
In Nova launcher you can go into the app settings>Apps & Widget Drawers>scroll down to hide apps
From there you can choose to hide apps you don't want to see.
Edit: Just saw you know you can hide it.
