Nexus 6P stuck on black Google screen please help! :( - Nexus 6P Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

So I tried to root my 6P with the Nexus Root toolkit , first I unlocked the bootloader, that went well . After that I tried to root it but my build number wasn't there (MDB08L) So I researched if that would be a problem and a couple of people said they followed the same instructions as with the MDB08K build and it worked just fine on theirs so I proceeded. I selected the "any build" from the options on the toolkit and it seemed to be going well, I followed the instructions , flashed the files on twrp and from there I rebooted and it got stuck on a bootloop... :/ so then I tried to use the toolkit to fix the bootloop and selected the MDB08K and after it ran and finished it isn't exactly bootlooping but it is now stuck on the black Google logo and does nothing ... please help! I have my old Nexus 5 so its not totallya desperate situation but I really hope this can be fixed since I just got the 6p and absolutely love it! :'(

Ditch the toolkit and try using fastboot or the flash all.bat from the factory image.

not able to flash factory image!

hey guys,
after a long day og non-success i really need your help here.
i tried to do a factory image restore as described here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1907796
Everything worked fine until it came to the point of flashing the image (fastboot -w update image-nakasi-jop40c.zip). as you can see on screenshot1 it stops working at step "sending system" (i´ve been waiting for 2 hours, nothing happened).
also tried the same procedure with nexus 7 toolkit and nexus root toolkit, but here the same problem mentioned above occurs when "sending bootloader" (see screenshot2).
all in all here is what i´ve got:
working unlocked bootloader (4.13), stock recovery and fastboot - but no system
i hope there´s all the information you need right now and anyone can help me out of this misery.
thanks!
Take a look at this video; it describes everything you need to learn how to use the Nexus 7 Root Toolkit: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sK9avekmA1c
Once you figure it out you will also be able to flash the stock ROM to your tablet.

thanks for your answer but this is not helpful. the problem is not that i dont know how to use the tools but somehow the flashing process stops at the points mentioned above and i cant explain why
Maybe your downloaded factory image is corrupted somehow? You could try re-downloading and/or flashing the system.img separately:
fastboot flash system system.img
i already tried that and also let the toolkits download the images themselves but still no success.
when flashing the system.img seperately it still just says sending system.img but nothing happens
trying to flash an older bootloader also failed due to the same problem
Try different cable/USB port/PC. Sounds unlikely but you'd be surprised.
Looks like the 4.13 bootloader has a serious issue with receiving and then flashing data, I keep reading about this....

Had a very similar situation myself a couple of days where I thought I'd completely murdered by days-old Nexus 7 3G and switching flaming USB ports sorted it. Annoyance and relief in equal measure! Glad it worked for you.

My device was already bootloader unlocked, and running 4.2 grouper JDQ39

Hi I recently bricked my nexus 7 too and unbricked it myself. there aren't a lot of people willing to help here as I know, and I know I can help you. First thing first, there is noway you can brick your nexus 7, no matter what you have done, so just clam down.
to unbrick your nexus 7, there is what I suggest you to try>
1, download fastboot, adb. make sure they are the newest version.
2, download recovery-clockwork-touch-6.0.4.3-grouper. this is a recovery img that you install into your nexus 7
3, get Google android USB driver!! uninstall every before you install this!!
4, put your neuxs 7 into boot loader mode by holding about 3 buttons.
5, connect your nexus 7 to your PC
6, If you are a windows using, using command prompt "fastboot.exe devices"
7, something should come up. then you are in the right track.
8, type fastboot.exe flash recovery recovery-clockwork-touch-6.0.4.3-grouper
9, you should get a message saying everything is install correctly.
10, using vol down to go the recovery mode on your device. The CWM should be installed!!!
11, Download any android ROM for nexus 7, and simply install it using CWM!!
12, Adb doesn't work on me because I can't get into USB debug mode. You have to use an OTG USB cable. Copy the ROM to an USB driver and connect that USB to your nexus using this OTG USB cable.
13, install!!! done!!!

Could you elaborate a little more on what step you picked from the main menu of that software? I'm not having any luck getting my Nexus fixed.
Posted my thread for help here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2560975
Guess I will try megapig's suggestions next. I've tried so many procedures and none of them are working.

[Q] OUT OF IDEAS- Nexus 4 stuck on boot loop

Could someone please offer some advice, i really am stumped on this one. I have a nexus 4 which is rooted has an unlocked bootloader and is running on the stock version of kitkat. Last week i changed network and as bizarre as it sounds when i got disconnected from three my phone bricked and got stuck on the boot logo.
Since then i went home and got the skipsoft toolkit up and running to essentially put a fresh rom on. Unfortunately no luck, i have gone into the bootloader and recovery,factory/wipe reset -- still no luck it's stuck on the boot logo. Now i realised that adb isn't working only fastboot which has also limited my options. i have tried multiple version of roms/recoverys etc.. they install which confirmed by the change of boot logo but that's it just hangs again.
Is there something else i can try? I would really appreciate some direction on it. Thanks very much in advanced.

What do you mean you changed network? What recovery are you using twrp or cwm hope it's twrp I think you need to search forums for wugfresh tool kit and start fresh which means going back to stock rom, recovery etc.. Wugfresh toolkit is the easiest method for you and even has videos on YouTube for step by step instructions you can't go wrong be patient and pay attention and you will be OK..www.wugfresh.com/youtube

I meant literally that i changed network from three to ee, which i also brought my original number over with it. The day my number transfered to ee my phone bricked and it's been stuck on boot loop since.
I have never used wugfresh before but i followed your instructions and spent sometime with it this morning. It's a very simple piece of software and i must admit i was feeling hopeful it might have fixed my boot-loop issue, but it hasn't. I have done factorywipes/wiped cache, flashed multiple version roms. As far as recovery i had TWRP running on my device, but for some reason i am no longer able to go into it only the bootloader. When i do click on recovery i got the android on its back with the exclamation mark, which obviously gives me the wipe options which i have done.
If there is anything else you can think of i would be greatly appreciative.

I really have no clue what changing network to ee is did you not create a backup if so you could restore it but since you can't once you get in bootloader and scroll to recovery you get dead android use to toolkit I told you and flash stock+unroot option it should work

I am very grateful you taking the time to help me with the boot issue. But i have actually just managed to sort it, finally!
It came down to me changing to an older radio version for 4.4.4., then i installed a 4.3 rom which it worked! I then upgraded to 5.01 and hey presto it's back to normal.
Thanks again nexus root tool-kit is definitely an essential

Nexus 6P (Stock MMB29P) Stuck on boot after OTA, fastboot locked, adb sideload fails.

Hi
Since Friday my Nexus 6P freezes on boot animation logo.
I never tried to root my phone, neither force an updated on it (First time I went in recovery/fastboot mode was this weekend).
Friday morning I received a notification for an OTA update, so I clicked on it to install it and from this point my phone never started up again.
I tried many solutions but none of them worked, so I deciced to ask here finally as my last resort..
What I've tried :
Fastboot flash fails "device is locked" (and fastboot flashing unlock fails aswell because "oem unlock is not allowed" in dev options)
Recovery wipe data/factory reset works but my phone won't boot either (waited for ~1h)
Adb sideload OTA.zip (MMB29P → MMB29Q) fails "Verifying current system... System partition has unexpected content"
Nexus Root Toolkit (Flash Stock + Unroot with options Soft-Bricked/Bootloop) doesn't work
I run out of options, does anyone have another solution ?
Thank you
sorry I don't have ansewer except call google play support 855 836 3987

Get to stock recovery using this guide, once there wipe cache partition then wipe data/factory reset. If that doesn't work call Google or RMA like error629 said.

if your bootloader is locked and you didnt enable ADB in developer settings, you're out of luck

Yes exact same problem. I'll try to contact Google or Huawei then..
So I contacted Huawei Support (since I didn't buy it from the Google Store) and they told me to bring my phone to a PSM. PSM took my phone in charge and now I have to wait ~2 weeks (they send it back to Huawei). I'll update the thread when I get it back, this might be useful to somebody.
were on the same boat..
i remember a mate of mine uncheck the oem unlocking in the dev option.. then an OTA update came out and i updated it.. now the phone is stock only in bootloader. i wish i could enable the oem unlock.. but the problem is the phone wont boot normal.. pls help
im getting frustrated with my phone.. im thinking of overvolting the usb port with 12V so the dealership wont know about the reflashing

That would be fraud. Have you tried adb sideload?
No not yet.. i tried researching about sideload.. but i cant seem to understand it.. perhaps do you have any guide on how to do it? Would be really happy if someone post a guide.

Also my nexus 6p wont enter recovery mode. It can only access the bootloader
So i cant make adb sideload to work because i cant access my recovery mode. It can only enter bootloader and barcodes and thats it.. pls help.. sigh..

If that's the case there's nothing anyone here can do or say to help you, your only option is sending it back for repair. Hopefully a lesson has been learned here.
Good morning
We should make group called nexus 6p bricked devices since we all got same problem .
I read in Google forum that March update released and some users got same problem after flashing it
So we have to make topic also called ( warning read before flash your ota ) at least to help new n6p users .
Ok so i got my phone fixed by my dealer.. So far so good. And they knew that i fcuked up my nexus so they've told me not to reflash the system again.
My nexus 6p is now bonestocked

I just started having this same issue.
I can't get into recovery from the bootloader in order to perform section 13. Once hit recovery, it's back to looping boot screen with white Google text.
Just got finished with Google phone support. They're sending me a new device. It must be a hardware failure.
Background: I got OTA notification on Friday night. I downloaded and hit install. Then after a while it said there was an upgrade error, and to please try again. But it was going to have to download the 1+ GB OTA file again, so I just said screw it, i'll do it later. Here am I 2 days later with a broken phone. Thinking this has to be related.

Hi Heisenberg,
I ran into this problem today with my phone stuck on Google screen. I tried to use your guide and put my phone in recovery but it just goes back to rebooting and just shows the "Google" logo so if I can't get the phone into recovery then I won't be able to use your guide right? Is these any other way to solve this problem or am I screwed?
Also how can this problem be prevented in the future if I got new phone under warranty? Do I root and flash pure Nexus ROM and backup images?
Thanks,

For your second question, it's hard to tell... Making regular backups may help protecting your datas, but can't help your new phone to start acting crazy...
I have been doing weekly backups to my pc. I backup my TWRP, TBU, Super Backup, DCIM and download directories.

Any ideas are any solution when I have custom rom?
EDIT: Not needed, seems that wife phone has motherboard problem because now it will stuck in TWRP screen.
I am pretty sure I had this problem before. Actually within hours of purchasing and rooting. Lol go into fastboot and install factory images. If you were able to get into recovery you could use adb to oem unlock.. but that doesn't sound like an option.
My phone died last night in a bootloop death. Thankfully here in the UK we have a 2 year warranty so Huawei are taking it back. I mentioned "bootloop issue" and the tech guy stopped asking the standard stuff and just sent me a returns bag.
