So I went to use slo-mo and it went to a black screen like the attached picture. I can't swipe or do anything within the app. I've cleared cache and forced stop... Nothing seems to fix it. Any ideas?

You are in Camera mode, Swipe left to start capturing video in Slo Mo..
I too found some nasty bugs like this. If I accidently swipe from camera to video and then quickly return to camera, the app hangs and shows me a very similar frozen UI...
I normally have to close the app or open gallery and exit gallery to get the camera to work again. It's really intermittent.
Then on other occasions, again randomly but mostly after just taking a shot and quickly clicking the thumbnail, a blank grey screen shows up with no icons to press on. Again, this needs a force close and it turns out it didn't save the picture it supposedly took when this bug triggered.

Yes but I can't do anything when it does this. The only way to fix it is to reboot the phone.

Open the Camera app, swipe left to switch to video mode, You will see a icon on the top right corner that looks like a speedometer touch it and start recording.
I'm having the same issues. Only seems to happen when trying to do anything with slow motion. Other apps like snapchat that use the camera stop working. Is this a software or hardware issue?

Exactly, after it freezes (but never force closes) no other apps that access the camera work

I have the same problem, and we are not alone, when I googled, also find: https://productforums.google.com/forum/#!topic/nexus/o6BCn8qzbM4
But seems no solution so far, wait for google to solve it...

This happened to me this morning and nothing I did fixed it other than a factory wipe and reset. I tried clearing cache, data, force stopping... Clearing cache in recovery. I had to reset the phone. Bad bug.
Also did the option to chose which part of the video you want played back in slow motion go away?

Slow motion is huge for me because I am a coach and use it alot.

The few times it worked, it worked great. I was able to adjust when it slowed down. But something triggered it to stop working. Now it's just random. Sometimes it'll work and sometimes it won't (then I have to reboot).

Add another to the list....
I've had my 6P a week today, My camera quit working on Monday. Camera app starts, but black just like the previous photo, and I can't do anything else with it. Nothing has worked to bring it back, rebooting, clearing cache... nothing. I'm on 6.0.1, rooted with stock rom. Like others have said, no other app that used the camera works either. Also something for others to check out too, is does the flashlight app work? Mine doesn't. I really don't wan't to send this back, I hope it's a software/firmware glitch.
Just wanted to add my voice to the camera issue in hopes that Google realizes that it is an issue and starts to work to get it fixed.
any news for to fix it???
this bug really is annoying.
Just flash the stock boot.img and use the normal SuperSU
Anyone had any results in fixing this constant issue?
Thinking of sending mine in for warranty.
Any fix ? I m on 7.1.1 and the problem persists

i cant find it....
after playing x-plane, my g-sensor is all messed up, and theres no way i can find to re-calibrate it, none of the bubble level apps work
I was playing Drive with Zombies and it pulled hard right. Restarting the app several times and the bubble level had no effect.
Finally I tried laying it flat on the table and starting the game. Problem solved.
I'm resurrecting this thread, temple run is tilted to the right and its annoying, my nexus is stock but this no g sensor calibration is bugging me.

Well, thanks for the idea, but that will not work - I checked (I have similar problem on my Nexus 7) - The GPS Status APPs does not recalibrate the G-Sensor system, it only "recalibrates" how it interprets the g-sensor output for its own purposes, so the recalibration does not affect any other applicatons
You can check that deleting stored data for GPS Status app wil also resets the way it represent the G-Sensor data...
maybe there is some other way how to fix the G-sensor?

Well, good for you... I have read some reports that the sensor come to "senses" in special circumstatnces like keeping the tablet on flat surface when running faulty apps and so on, but none of them worked for me.. it any app i able to calibrate the sensor for itself, then it is fine for it, but other apps that can not do the calibration are not affected at all

Ok, I will try to look for other solution..., thank anyway..
EDIT: I think have just found solution: when I calibrated the sensor using App "Sensor tester" (yes, there are several apps of that name, but only one is working on my N7 and has calibration available), then ALL sensor testing apps (including GPS status) sees the G-sensor corectly calibrated, and it works even in the game that caused all my troubles. And also, it does not matter whether or not is that sensor app running - I stopped it and deleted its data and it is still working fine!

In the APP menu select "other avaliable sensor", then select "MPL Accelerometer type: ACCELEROMTER " (it is actually a bit longer sentence). Then again, open the APP menu and there will be buton labeled "Calibrate" which will take you through the rest of the process...

oh boy, it seem that the problem is baack again:
I restarted my Nexus 7 (I was experimenting with USB host, but that does not belong here), and now the G-sensor it is back in its previous (misscalibrated) state, and this time, the "Sensor tester" app is not helping I even tryed several other apps, but nothing is helping this time, and I can not find what is different this time (restart)... :crying:
EDIT: hmm... today, I tried again, and now it is working (???). I do not know why it did not worked last time... If every application that uses g-sensor would also contain calibration settings for its own use, world would be so much nicer place...
Not sure what's happened, but the Auto Rotate functionality on my Nexus 7 doesn't seem to be responding anymore?
I have Nova Launcher Prime installed, auto rotate enabled everywhere I can find. It had been working perfectly, and I'm not really sure why nothing is rotating.
It seems to be getting stuck in whatever view it's currently in. I started up Transformers to see if the screen would rotate, it did because it was forced to, but then I quit the movie and my Nexus was stuck in landscape mode.
The only way I can seem to get it back to portrait mode it by making it go to sleep and then unlocking it. I've already powered it off and on to see if that would make a difference, but no luck yet.
I've owned Android devices for 2+ years now, and I've never seen this happen before... Ideas?

Sorry for the smudged screen, but here's another picture doing an accelerometer test, and the little ball was stuck at the top
Did you try default launcher? If not try that.
Another suggestion is uninstalling Nova Launcher Prime, and reinstalling.
His problem is happening everywhere, not just the homescreen, so messing with the launcher won't fix it.
Nick: This thread might help (seems like it might or might not work).

Btw, you probably don't need to turn on the flash when taking pictures of your screen. Turning it off would probably result in clearer pictures.
Mine had the problem from the start and various things I try sort it out temporarily but don't fix it.
You're problem could be reversed if it was ok to start with, something might have knocked the gyro off somehow?
Might be worth backing up and doing a factory reset?
Thanks for the suggestions everyone, but it doesn't seem to have solved the issue...
I tried uninstalling and re-installing Nova Launcher - No change
I tried to calibrate using that Compass app - No change
I then tried to do a factory reset - No change

Hi,
I was having the same problem. I first tried the compass app and went through the calibration and it was the same. I then did a complete erase. Still the same. I was resigned to sending it back, but was reluctant too as I'd bought it in an airport in the UK and I'm sure it would've taken some time and there would be some hoops to jump through. I then went into Youtube and started to rotate the device around quite aggressively and found if it was upsound down and I shook it, it changed to landscape / portrait. I then tried the compass app again, went through the calibration and hey presto - it worked!!!!!!:laugh: Don't know if the compass app fixed it or if shaking it agressively did the trick.
It now changes seemlessly from portrait to landscape and vice versa. If you're used to an iPad or iPhone you might have to wait a fraction of a second longer for it to work.

You sure you didn't have selective focus or HDR mode on? as with them enabled you can't zoom in/out.
Here are some screen shots of the camera screen.
As you can see only 3 modes.
And on the other no setting cog icon.
So how can I try different modes when I can't change them, and then the setting icon can't even use that.
I just want to get to use the camera to its full potential.
Thanks for any help guys.

Hello,
i've got a strange problem with the camera. I don't know when it happend the first time, for sure it worked after i've rooted the phone.
I open the app and the picture shown by the camera has strange green / green / purle triangle on it.
I take the picuture and even the picture has these errors.
If i open the options and change f.e. the stabilisation mode to off the errors don't occure anymore until i exit the camera app.
I tried to reinstall the camera app but the problem still remains.
Any idee what to do to solve the problem
I recorded videos on mine at a football game yesterday and they won't play shows its an mp4 tried an mp4 repair app and it says maybe it's not an mp4 file it's annoying me

one way that i found
Hi... first i want to say sorry if my english is bad... because i still learn.
Ok.... this thread start because someone tell his or her camera can't zoom.... when he/she try to zoom with pitch it always "can't zoom in or out in this mode", well i have same problem... i search on google how to solve it... there's many way but only for S3 or S4.... until I play with my setting and i found somethings... yeah it's "Easy Mode". when i found this i remeber that S3 and S4 zoom problem can fixed when the easy mode changes into standart mode soo... i change it... and walaa.... finally i can zoom and out the camera.. yay...
For who can't find any setting option in camera.... it's not form the camera but our setting in phone... go to PERSONALISATION and find the easy mode there... open it and change it into standart mode..
Well that's one of many way that i found to fix it.... thanks. I hope this reply can help many people.
-My girlfriend shot a bunch of portrait photos and every single portrait photo when shared to Facebook (or sharing to any app like SMS, not just FB) are automatically rotated to landscape orientation. Viewing exact same portrait photo in the google photos or the gallery app shows the correct portrait orientation. However, shooting in landscape maintains the orientation whether in the gallery or shared. Therefore the problem lies somewhere between the portrait photo being shared and does not appear to be app specific. I have read that switching to a new camera app like the Google Camera fixes the problem but I DO NOT want to downgrade from the LG G4 stock camera. As of now, she is manually rotating all the photos in facebook which is a HUGE pain in the----- Any fix for this? I am hoping to get more exposure to the issue.

Four pages of whining until a workaround was suggested.
Just tried few photos and uploaded to my computer and they are all looking properly. Pictures are always digitized as in normal landscape orientation and exif orientation tag instructs viewer to rotate picture if needed. Is it possible that you have some protection software that blocks exif tags when sharing images (since they can contain sensitive information like gps address where picture is taken)? Similar issue was existing before with fb and iphone.
Might be a lollipop bug. I had the same problem on my Galaxy S5 after it was updated. The same problem continued on the G4.
It is an android bug. Especially with Hangouts. Been around forever.
I have had the same issue as well, although have just thought - does it change dependant on the app from which you share the image? i.e. if you share it to fb from the LG gallery, ES File Explorer, Google photos etc. does the same issue still occur?
Dan
I just got my LG G4 yesterday for Tmobile and noticed this bug today when i shared a picture with buddies on Hangouts. It's not a huge deal, but it'd be nice to get fixed. I decided to do some testing with other apps and so far I've only had issues when sharing directly from hangouts or from the Google photo application. If I use the stock LG gallery and share from within that app to hangouts I have no issues. After reading a bit online i noticed there were a good number of people who had this happen in MMS, but I've yet to experience that.

If you're using a task-killing app,it is likely the culprit,ditch it & don't look back.
If not,check the following:
Go to SETTINGS > APPS > QUICK MEMO+ & ensure that all app permissions are enabled.
Also,go to SETTINGS > BATTERY & POWER SAVING,tap on BATTERY USAGE & scroll down to Ignore optimizations & choose QUICK MEMO+
Other than that, the only other recommendation I have is to clear all the app data from QuickMemo+ & try again.

Thanks I'll give it a shot. Have done all the clears; cache, data, force stop. Not running a task killer....I'll post my results.

Negative. It's not asking for permissions, I ignored battery saver, and still I cannot hit the add button without it Force Closing.
Capture+ now just does nothing when I click on it.... So strange

Very odd, I've got nothing.
Outside of a factory reset or device replacement, I'm stumped.
May be an effort in futility, but, I'd drop this on an AT&T associate in-store,see what they come up with.

I appreciate your help. It's just one of those little things that irk me. I'm very happy with the phone and everything is working great so no need to return it. Not sure about AT&T (just switched) but if it's anything like Verizon going there would be a complete waste of time.
I'm coming from the 5x and prior to that, quite a few years if rooting and custom ROMs. Like I said I'm very happy with this device but I wanted to try and take advantage of as much of the stock software as possible, since I'm so used to customizing my phone to the exact same setup for so long.
I'll live with it, and again thanks for your help.
