Will the Nexus 6P see Multirom compatibility soon? - Nexus 6P Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hey gang,
I was a flashaholic for a long period of time with my nexus 5. Got much worse when Multirom was released for it. I'm assuming it's only a matter of time before the Nexus 6P has it, or is there something that could potentially prevent this?

BUMP! I was hoping to see this soon. Calling HSBADR!

I'm waiting for this as well.

@Tasssadar
It probably will be sooner or later. It was supported by the 5 & 6, so I'm sure he's probably working on it.
Patience. ????

All bets on it happing... when he is ready rock it!

Lol I'm so used to multirom. I keep thinking I can flash all roms at once

I would also like to see multi rom

bump for visibility.

I loved it on my note 3. Patiently waiting

Hmm, theres an idea. Another possibility I was thinking about...
Has anyone considered trying to port it to our Angler? Maybe we can put some heads together?
To those of you poised to reply about how farfetched or unrealistic this is (you know who you are): please hold your horses/nuts/boobs/whatever you got before you poop on this idea by replying about how farfetched or unrealistic this is. In all honesty I don't know how ambitious this would be, but the dev provides a solid base to start from for anyone who wants to try and port mltrm to another device.
If you download the multirom app onto Angler and open it up, says it isn't supported and give the link to page that - from what I can tell - describes the porting process step-by-step. He says some knowledge of c+ is likely needed.
Anyway, I'm willing to give it a shot. Actually I'm going to give it a shot and anyone whose up for working together on this is more than welcome.

Any progress on this or is it too much for us uneducated?

If anyone do it, i also give him $

Is anyone working on this. Had Multirom on my Nexus 6 and I need it badly for my Nexus 6p

Release date?
Does anyone know when is "ANTI" going to be released?
I actually hope they make it a hard install

Will this support Android 2.1version handsets...?

[Q] So; how often do you guys check for the 4.2 OTA?

I've decided to be patient, and only checks like 5-10 times a day :silly:
On a more serious note: On Google's Nexus page they write:
Nexus 7 comes with Android 4.2, the latest version of the world's most popular mobile platform.

Are Google shipping new Nexus 7 with 4.2? If they are, surely they should be able to release an OTA?

no point in checking now....when 4.2 gets pushed to AOSP you WILL see it everywhere. and then the devices should get it within the day.
save your fingers, i think you are going to need them on the 13th (official launch of the nexus 4 and nexus 10)
I'm not going to get AOSP 4.2 since i'm on AOKP. Just don't wanna miss some of it's features. But some tim aftere release there will also be AOKP 4.2
What update.
Google will personally call everyone who owns a nexus 7 Tablet two hours before its release . During the call you will be given information on how to obtain this Life saving Technological Breakthrough. They will also explain to you the update procedure. Google will also get your mailing address as to where to send you a refund check for the full amount of the cost of Android 4.1.2 . The check refund is to say they are sorry for having to wait for the new Os. If you mention 3 times while on the phone with them about . thats 3 times talking bad about apple and Ms They will increase your refund by 3x .. Please be prepared to do a short online survey (required).
On topic.. I do not check The day it comes as soon as i log into the forums i will see all the post from all of you guys checking for me...
Have a nice day The above story comes direct from the small part of my brain that does not as i tell it to..
I'll check around the 14th. No point really in checking before then.

AOSP Rom

Was able to get a ROM built and running based on LRX21V straight from source. Just trying to get a feel on how many people would want to run AOSP. There are some bugs present such as video recording causing the camera to stop working. I think there are binaries missing that Google didn't include in the binaries that are available. Same problem happened on the Nexus 5. Didn't test it much as I just purely wanted to see if it booted.
Also there is a lack of gapps available so I won't be rushing to get anything out. Let me know what y'all think and I'll try to tackle this to get some other options out for us.
Here is the test build for those that want to have a look. This is just a test build so bugs are to be expected. Video recording does not work. Haven't tested it completely as I need a fully working device this weekend. This is for those that have free time to just nit pick and find all bugs in this. Please report back after you are done and let me know what else you may have found that is broken or not working right.
Stock Google kernel (so if you flashed the kernel image to remove encryption your phone WILL be encrypted again)
Built off 5.0.0_r7 from AOSP
Flash ROM, flash gapps and flash SU that is linked below. This will allow root access on the stock kernel.
You can also optionally flash the custom boot image after flashing the ROM, gapps and SU by rebooting to bootloader and fastboot flash boot the custom encryption kernel. That is optional. Be sure to go back in to recovery after flashing the kernel to reflash the SU to make sure it was not overwritten.
Download Rom:AFH Mirror
Download Gapps for Lollipop:http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=56810851#post56810851

That is pretty offensive. It is a new device and isn't in the developers hand so releasing work without testing their work leads to quality problems.
I don't see you doing any development work and developers don't owe anyone anything as they do all this work as a hobby pretty much.

I know the reasons behind it, which was the point of the "no offense." I wasn't whining. I was trying to help motivate and encourage OP. He, as well as others, are working on making things happen and I'm excited for it and waiting eagerly for the kernel source to drop.
You took what I said the wrong way, so step off of your soap box, zephiK.
Edit: That reminds me. If any devs need testers, PM me. I'll be happy to help the community out.

No. Minor bug fixes for the particular device it was made for but that's it. I did notice on the N5 that there was a significant "miscellaneous" battery drain on r7. Might roll back to r3 if its present since r3 is the one for us (its also the same build for the N5).

Miscellaneous bug again? I wonder if they broke the same thing they already fixed, or if this is something else that is just falling into miscellaneous as well.
Thanks for the work on this!

Simply installing the SuperSU apk is enough for root, correct? I don't have to re-run CF... Especially since I'm not near a PC

Nexus 6P Update (Google Assistant , Pixel Features)

Hey guys.
Just heard that Google is actually releasing the Google Assistant to some devices , including the 6P , through the Google play services.
Seems like Google is giving us more Pixel Features , so first the dialler and messaging apps and stuff like that , now we're getting the assistant.
Does anyone know when we are going to get it ? (Heard something like next week)
And does anyone know what Google is actually doing , are they going to give us the pixel launcher , the blue accents , the solid navigation buttons? Let me know is you know anything about this. Thanks !! ✌?✌?✌?

No it doesn't, very little does, but there are rules in place for a reason, so we don't have anarchy with people posting wherever they feel like. However, the next time someone comments that you posted in the wrong section, maybe realise that it's not an attack or an insult to your intelligence but rather simply pointing out that you did something you shouldn't have and helping by passing along the information instead of trying, and subsequently failing, to be a smartass. If I had reported the thread or had it deleted then you'd have a right to be upset if even if I said you were stupid or negligent then again you'd have the right but alas no, but I'll be sure to point it out to you next time.
Goodnight gentlemen.

Post has been reported to facilitate transfer to the correct thread. No need to start any arguments. So chill
@op The Voice Assistant update is a staged roll-out, meaning more and more users will get it within the next few days. No one really knows the full extent of Google's plans for bringing pixel features to other devices like the Nexus line. I guess we'll just have to wait and see.
All I can say is that such initiatives are welcome, especially if the changes are not merely cosmetic in nature, but instead add useful features to our device.
So yeah ... Did anyone get the assistant during the week ?
