Hello,
I'm facing since one month ago a problem that's getting worse as I use my phone. At the beggining there was a small part of the screen which became unresponsive and often there were some random presses on that surface, but now the surface is like three times bigger and I can't use the navigation bar without rotating the screen 180 degrees. I've read about the problem, but I haven't seen any explanation. The weird reactions and the unresponsive part can be seen in the pictures I've just uploaded.

My XDA Mini has a screen issue.
Only part for the screen (the middle) has stopped responding to the touch pad.
How do I fix this, has anyone else had it?
Cheers
Max
My Wizard (O2 XDA Mini S) has just developed this problem. The touch screen does not respond to touches around the middle of the screen. The outside edges of the screen work fine however.
I've had it for about 4 years now though, so I suppose its lasted well really. It's a G4 and I installed a WM6.1 ROM on it about 6 months ago (which is awesome btw, makes the phone sooo much better / faster!) but I don't think this is related to the problem.
Any known fix for this? I think it's a hardware issue since I also have the problem where upon opening/closing the keyboard, the screen goes white with multicoloured vertical lines and the phone emits a high pitched noise (have to put phone into standby then wake it up again to resolve). This, whilst annoying, I can live with, but not now the middle of the screen no longer responds to touches
I read somewhere its to do with the ribbon cable that connects the screen and main board, its gets trapped or worn over time as the keyboard is slid in and out. So I guess the touch problem is a more severe symptom of this? Can it be fixed?
Also a point of interest is that I keep the phone in the case a lot of the time. Could the magnets have possibly affected the screen? Anyone else with this problem keep the phone in its case a lot?
Thanks in advance,
Jamie
So since replacing my touch screen, I've noticed that the touch screen is having constant alignment problems. I read on another forum about a foam border going around the screen possibly causing problems and removed it and am still having problems.
When doing a test in the Notes function, it seems the more towards the center of the screen the stylus is, the more accurate it is. But when i start getting towards the corners, it either stops or freaks out.
Any ideas? Thanks!!
Trying to lower the top bar is practically impossible... Anyone else has this problem? Could this be a problem caused by the screen protector?

I have the same problem but my problem is not limited to just the top part. i am having trouble with taps and swipes across the whole screen
Me too, I noticed my knock on wasn't working at all, but knock off worked fine...Then I noticed that if I drag the notification bar down really slowly about half inch down it just snaps up as if I lifted my finger, almost like its not detecting touch anymore when it reaches that section. My phone has worked great for 3 weeks, what could be causing this all of a sudden?
Is there a charger in the dock?
Lots of devices get touch screen issues when charging. (I have to double tap everything on my Tablet when it's charging). Some have bigger issues than others. Depends on how good the battery is shielded.
I almost never notice it on my G2 though. Only a tad. Depends on how stable the currency is in my house (The problem is almost non existent at my home. At my mom it's just like my tablet. Have to double tap everything)
Could also be because of a magnet or something in the car dock.
Hey guys,
i noticed something strange on my tn7.
Sometimes (maybe 50% of the time) when i open the (original) slide cover to wake up the screen, the touch screen is very unresponsive.I can touch, but it notices only ~10% of what i am doing and is extremly laggin. when i then turn off the screen with the button and turn it on with the button again, everything is fine.
Also when doing this i have to wait for the screen to go off completly - if i wake it when the backlight is still on but the screen is black, the issue stays.
This never happens when i wake the tab with the button though, only with the slide cover. Thats what is kinda strange i think..
Anybody got an idea on how 2 fix this?
Running rooted Stock Kitkat.
Thanks
This is a problem that has existed since this tablet was released and persists still to this day. All you can do is cycle the screen off/on with the power button, unfortunately. Seeing as how this hasn't been solved in the last 10 months and Nvidia is showing signs that they're abandoning this tablet to focus on the Shield Tablet, it will probably never be fixed.
Screen lag
I have a similar issue on mine. I've had mine now about six months and it's very intermittent but at certain times, especially when the battery is low, the keys down the left side lock up and become unusable. I bought the tegra note 7 because of the stylus which I prefer to touching the screen with my index finger, but I don't much like the stylus itself which could have been made of better materials I think. I also find that sometimes it doesn't register clicks, then it will be perfectly ok for a little while. I had hoped with the tegra 4 and the much hyped stylus it would be very responsive but it's inconsistent. Anyone else recognise these flaws?
I also get this intermittently but only ever when waking it up with the cover, its never happened when turning on with the button. When it does happen a quick off and on with the button resolves the issue
I have a weird bug the last 2 days, after unlocking the screen randomly the navigation bar controls are unresponsive for 2-3 seconds, I thought it was a bug of ASE6 but I updated to ASE7 yesterday night and it's still occuring.
Am I the only one?
Yeah I have that issue time to time too. I first thought it was because of the screen protector that I didn't peel off the first week I got my device, but apparently that's not the case, especially the bottom right corner of the screen where the default back button is feels unresponsive at times. Switching on and off the screen helps. I don't know if it is a general problem or some sort of a hardware problem.
Btw does ticking the option to increase touch input responsiveness increase battery usage, and should we try that on?
