One day I left me Galaxy Note 4 cell at home and I needed to see the calendar events I had entered. I was at work using my PC but I could not figure out how to access my calendar from work on my phone. Is there an app that will do this? Thank you
you probably have 3 calendars on your phone in which you can add appointments, all controlled from the S planner app.
"my calendar", "Samsung calendar", and "google calendar".
if you save all your appointments under "google calendar" you can access them from any computer by logging into your Google account at http://calendar.google.com/
I have events entered into the "my calendar" app already. Is is possible to view those events remotely?
the "my calendar" is a local-only calendar, and can't be viewed remotely at all.
you can move appointments to your Google account though by opening them, pressing the edit/pencil button, and tapping "my calendar".
appointments in your Google calendar can still be viewed and managed through your current calendar app.

Looks like calendar sync with facebook is having a bug.. I can't find the solution anywhere Here is what i did:
1. I tried to add my facebook account to be synced.
2. After it's finish syncing, I saw that all of my friend's birthday are added to "My Calendar" instead of "Facebook" calendar. I have already tried to uncheck all of my calendar except "My Calendar", but all of my friend's birthdays are still there!
3. I removed my facebook account from my account management, all of the facebook contacts are gone, but the birthday events remained in "My Calendar"
4. Added my facebook account to be synced again
5. "My Calendar" now contains duplicate birthdays event
Have anyone met this problem before?? It's a madness to delete 400 event * 2 = 800 (duplicated) manually.... Any solution is appreciated..
I have exactly the same problem. Anyone got any idea how to fix it?
Funny that I can't find anyone complains about this problem..
Turns out this is a feature for Galaxy S' TouchWiz "Contacts" feature. The feature is to automatically add your contact's birthday to the calendar. Tried it out on my friend's HTC Legend, add birthday to the "People" app, nothing is added to the calendar. Since the facebook contacts are coming with birthday info, those birthdays will be added to your calendar as well...
Can't seem to find a workaround yet.. What I did is to clear the Calendar Storage data, which means all of your events saved to your calendar will be erased as well. Another workaround is to always add your own event to your GMail calendar, and hide your "My Calendar"..
Hope they will fix the on froyo..

The work around is to not use the Touchwiz crap and use the facebook app from the market, which has a PROPER contact and calender sync. It gets confusing though because after you install it you now have two facebook providers, one from Samsung and one from Facebook, in your sync setup, and you have to pick the right one.
I really hate the Social Hub BS... I wish it could be uninstalled, all it does is duplicate a bunch of stuff already available in Android, except poorly.
I only use it for phone numbers with facebook and gmail account and I check "Only show contacts with phone number" and for duplicated I went to gmail contact and applied "Find & Merge duplicates".
Maybe you could try:
Turn off facebook calendar sync, sync your calendar with google calendar, go to google calendar on computer and delete it

the birthday is added to "My Calendar", not your "google" account's calendar.. so syncing it won't enable you to delete it from computer..

-_- You can sync birthday with "my calendar" and you can sync "my calendar" to google so birth goes to google calendar !! Facebook > My calendar > Google Calendar then if you delete under Google Calendar the phone will sync.
The sync with android is in the contacts app under "Activities" press add account (only worked for me on JPC)

lol sorry nobbie here how do you sync "my calendar" to google?? do you mean i have to edit the event 1 by 1?
Open my calendar> press menu button> More > Settings > Calendar Sync> Under manage account turn off facebook calendar sync (for the time of deleting everything)
tap on you gmail account check sync calendar > wait for sync then go to google calendar this page https://www.google.com/calendar/b/0/render (settings in top right then calendar settings > calendar tab) and delete your default calendar it will not delete it but the events in it
Wait for phone to sync or try Menu > More > refresh
Then you can turn facebook sync back on
Done ^^
Can anyone confirm this:
If i assign a category to an appointment in my work Outlook 2003 (backup up by a company exchange server which syncs it to my Galaxy), this appointment turns up on my Galaxy in a separate calendar named after the category. Since i use Android Agenda Widget, in which you have to designate the calendars shown in the widget, the appointment does not show in the widget.
Example: i assign "Project X" as a category to the appointment "Project Meeting", then the appointment "Project Meeting" appears in a separate calendar "Project X" on my Galaxy, with a different color and all.
If i remove the category, the appointment shows up in the calendar named after the Exchange Account i set up in "Accounts & Synchronization" (as it should).
I can confirm this. Happens to me as well.
I'm using Touch Calendar with my Desire Z, with the "Show All Calendars" option set. I can see most of my Google calendar entries, but when I add a new entry to my Google calendar via the web on my PC, then select "Refresh" in Touch Calendar on the phone, the new appointments don't appear.
Can anyone think of any possible reasons why some Google calendar events wouldn't be displayed?
(My wifi internet connection on the phone is fine, by the way)
The appointments setup on your desktop computer will not instantly appear on Touch Calendar, you need to wait a few minutes (or have you already done that, and they NEVER appear?). I think the refresh function on Touch Calendar just refreshes the Touch Calendar app with your phone's calendar. But does not sync it to your PC's Google Calendar. You have to wait until your phone syncs with Google Calendar, then you should see it come up on Touch Calendar.
Hi,
sorry to bring this up again, but I am trying to figure out how calendars on this device work, as I seem to have a lot more calendars than I have on my galaxy nexus phone.
--
Ok, let's start from the source: GOOGLE CALENDAR.
I have 5 calendars on google.com/calendars:
- 3 Personal Calendars: Personal Appointments, Personal Anniversaries, Personal ToDos
- 1 Tasks Calendar (this being the usual Google Tasks)
- 1 Other Calendar: Contacts' Birthdays and Events (this being the usual Google Birthdays)
--
Now on my Galaxy nexus phone, where I have the official Google Calendar app installed.
Here I can sync 4 calendars:
- 3 personal calendars: Personal Appointments, Personal Anniversaries, Personal ToDos
- 1 Other calendar: Contacts' Birthdays and Events
Of course there is no Tasks Calendar, as this cannot be synced with Google Calendar App (stupid I know) but for this I am using GTasks.
The same applies for calendars to display: all the calendars I can sync I can also display.
Good, all is fine.
--
Now on my Note 10.1 where I use s-planner for calendars and GTasks for Google Tasks.
Here things start getting complicated...
-
First of all, if I go under "Settings" then "Sync Settings" and then "Sync Events/Actvities" I get a pop up labeled "Add account" where I see a green light next to: Samsung Account, Facebook, Google (screen shot attached "add account").
What the hell is this? I understand this is where I can choose which accounts I can sync with s-note, right? So then why can I only select new one and I cannot deselct let's say Facebook? And why is Facebook there? It is not there on my phone, why is here on the tablet?
-
Second, still under "Settings" I see two voices: one labeled with my Gmail address ([email protected]) and one labeled with my name (Giovanni Stoto).
If I click on each one, I see some calendars I can sync, in the specific (see attached screen shots "sync gmail calendars" and "sync gs calendars"):
-a- [email protected]: Personal Appointments, Personal Anniversaries, Personal ToDos, Contacts' Birthdays and Events, Samsung Calendar and Samsung Tasks_Activities
-b- Giovanni Stoto: Facebook
Now I guess Facebook is there because it is also there at point one above. fine, I can live with this, i simply don't sync it.
What about the two extra Samsung calendars (Samsung Calendar and Samsung Tasks_Activities)? Are these created when I create a Samsung account? Is the only way to get rid of these two samsung calendars to remove the samsung account? And if I remove the samsung account, do I lose anything? Please note that the samsung calendars are showing my gmail address, but that's because I have used this address to register with samsung. I give for granted that if I select to sync these calendars, then they will be synced with samsung website, not with gmail, so sort of useless.
-
Third, let's go under "Settings" then "Visualization Settings" and then "Calendars".
here I get a list of calendars that I can display. Well, yes but... I get a lot more than I can sync!!!!!! (see attached screen shot "view calendars")
Besides having my google calendars (Personal Appointments, Personal Anniversaries, Personal ToDos, Contacts' Birthdays and Events), my samsung calendars (Samsung Calendar and Samsung Tasks_Activities) and my facebbok calendar (Facebook), I also have "Personal Calendar" and "Personal Activities" and "Contac's Birthdays".
So where do the 3 new personal calendars are coming from? I presume they are local calendars built-in in s-planner. And why I cannot deselect "Personal Birthdays"?
--
Fourth, let's add a new event in s-planner. (see attached screen shot "add event calendars")
When i choose in which calendar to add the event, guess what?! I get a list of ONLY 5 calendars: the 3 Personal google calendars (Personal Appointments, Personal Anniversaries, Personal ToDos), the Samsung Calendar and the Personal Calendar.
Ok this makes sense but... If I am chosing not to sync and not to show Samsung calendars and Personal; calendars, why are they showing here? Any way not to have them in the list?
--
Fifth and last, let's add an activity in s-planner. (see attached screen shot "add activity calendars")
When selecting the calendar here I expect at this point to have 2 calendars: Samsung Tasks_Activities and Personal Activities.
Indeed I do, even if the Samsung Tasks_Activities is labeled with my gmail address (maybe a bug).
I also understand (and prove me wrong if) that Samsung Tasks_Activities are synced with samsung account only and cannot be synced with Google Tasks.
----------
I believe there is no way to ge rid of calendars from Samsung, Personal (local) and Facebook.
I managed to choose only the google calendars for sync and display, but I would also like to get rid of samsung calendar and personal (local) calendar from the list of calendars when adding a new event, but I understand thgis is either a bug or is not possible.
Well anyone that can clarify or help or just put his own 2 cent, is welcome.
wow 90+ visits and no1 has anything 2 say...
I have a Samsung Galaxy Note 3 (GT-N9005) running on DarkLord ROM.
I've been using the ROM for quite sometime now but only until today that I noticed my contacts' birthdays are not showing up in my S Planner. I've tried almost everything I can find on the internet from syncing Google Calendar to clear data and cache of the Calendar Storage and S Planner to making sure my calendar setting for "Display contacts' birthday" is turned on. Nothing works...
I really need help on this on... I've saw someone saying:
Open Calendar and tap menu -> Calendars to display. At the bottom of the screen, tap "Calendars to sync" button. For each calendar (if you have more than one), check the box next to "Contact's birthdays and events".
But I just can't find the "Calendar to sync" button. Please help! Thanks in advanced
