What app was used to change the dpi? I tried it with texdroider_dpi and set the dpi to 420 but the navigation buttons shift to the left. Are the buttons centered for you on different dpi settings or only 360?
Thanks!
What nav bar and status bar software are you using? Those don't look like default at all.
navbar is centered by itself?? good news then
You most have B327 if you are om B324 NAV bar dont center itself. My statusbar is another theme i downloded. Do not use textdroider dpi. Use Root Dpi changer
Im not sure, but if you change it to DPI 360 navbar center itself. Sry bad english

I am also running B327 and tried changing the dpi with "root dpi changer" but the nav bar is still not centered. Maybe the theme you have applied is centering the nav bar? Could you please provide a link to the theme you have applied?
Thanks

Tested it just with B327. Didn't root, adb shell -> wm density 360 worked fine for me except that "folders" on desktop are distorted and ugly big looking things. Replaced EMUI with nova launcher and least at now everything is working fine. I think there is something in EMUI themes that make folders looking weird.
Flash supersu with twrp and use root dpi changer
I used Supersu beta 2.52
Did anyone install this over b324 malaysian ( international version) ? i am using it at the moment but i am afraid to brick my phone. If its working that way , ill try installing it tomorrow
You can install it over all build, its a full installation package.
It appears that the navbar centers itself only on certain dpi values. I've tested 360, 400 and 440 successfully. Stock browser doesn't work at these values but everything else seems OK. I'm on b327.

I wonder if there is a way to resize the navbar. I am not talking about hiding it, only resize the original one. I already tried auto hide soft keys app and couple of others but the problem is they designed to be hidden since they overlap the page content.

That exactly what i am looking for thank you.
Only problem with resizing the navbar is,that you will need to do that every time a new rom is available. The navbars are only working with the given rom they are supposed to launch.I have found that a nice way to resize it without doing anything is to change the DPI with a program. Its will make the navbar small and you can make the icons bigger to have a similar outcome as before.
and...
...it does not work with our international version either.

The bigger icons you can make from the phone itself from what i remember, the DPI program is texDroider, only problem i saw its that the camera doesnt adjust on the new DPI while everything else i tried so far is normal. But it can be solved too with xposed framework and a mod (app settings 1.5) that can put the camera or everything else you choose in 480 DPI mode.
please some one know the way , please make it work with D802 model

I dont think that you can just change the DPI of the frameworkres.apk, from the program, and it will work just like that..I saw they got it modded in order for it to work. Not sure tho since im not familiar with these things.
Hey there! I have a question, I hope you can help me. I changed via "textdroider dpi" the DPI of my phone. So far so good. It´s just that the Icons in the app drawer are also changed in their size and now a little bit too small. Is there anyway to change the DPI for everything BUT the Icons in the app drawer?
Thanks!
@elwoodblues1985 you can try to use app settings with xposed and then set the stock dpi or what you want for the launcher.
Long time lurker here, love XDA and just actually got up and running with my new Note 4. The same thought went through my head with the stock Note 3... "Why the hell do they make a phone so large and just blow the icons up, it does me no good, I'm not a blind man..." So, naturally, one of my first steps after getting root was changing the DPI.
Like with the Note 3, I quickly realized that the Samsung Applications don't play nice with the custom DPI.
I realize this may be a completely stupid question, but my Google-fu has failed me so far. I've tried using Xposed to change the DPI (just on the Camera so far) back to defaults, but nothing seems to change the camera. Is there an alternate method to tell these applications to use the default DPI, are there modded version of these apps released yet, or is there a guide I could use to assist with modding these apps to make them friendly to DPI changes?
did you enable (tick) the (app settings) at module page of xposed? I am using note 4 too, and set default dpi = 480, and notice camera app is not support custom dpi, so i use app setting to assign it back, wish this can help.
Oh samsung, you still haven't made the camera app multi dpi, that's poor

Hey thanks for this info, but I don't seem to be able to change dpi of dialer/phone with app settings (camera and lockscreen worked). Am I changing the wrong app? (changed com.sec.phone and com.android.phone back to default 640)
Anyone know how to change recent apps dpi back to normal?

Nevermind, I forgot it was to change contacts apk. Also, with the new DPI, minimizing apps by drawing in from the corner no longer works. It will show as if it is shrinking the app to pop-up window then it will vanish. However, the window is still active as I tried multiple apps and then it prevented me because it said there is already 5 popups active (which is the maximum). Thanks for any help in advance!

I am not a developer, but I like all the work developers done for Android phones. I also had the same problem. Camera problem has been solved using "App Setting" application thru Xposed framework. However, Dialer and Keyboard didn't work.
Then I finally download Google Keyboard , which is the best one to use instead of Samsung Stock Keyboard. So, I am looking for another alternative for Dialer. lets see, I will post here if find anything. Thanks!
G4 stock DPI is 640, I've managed to put this down to 540 without any issues, but it's still way too high for me. I would really love 440 but loads of stuff, including stock camera and more importantly settings, force closes. I really didn't want to have to unlock the bootloader but it looks like I might have to as soon as a new ROM is available.
How did you change the DPI without unlocking the bootloader and gaining root?

Yeah you have to use like Nova or Apex if you change the stock DPI
Yep, confirmed it works with Nova. But found another issue. When it was set to 560, with the camera app in manual mode, you are unable to change the focus to full "zoomed out" or the camera app crashes.
I'm going to leave DPI for now...don;t want the camera to be affected.

I don't have that problem on 540, manual focus works fine. Why all OEMs have to be so limiting on DPI really is beyond me. It can't be that hard to make apps work on lower DPIs.

I thought it was too low! lol I'd like to see the status bar text a little bigger, like for the time, signal, LTE, etc. But without a kdz to restore from, I'm too afraid to try anything on this G4 in case anything goes wrong!

Well all I can say is bring on root so we can get Xposed going. And Viper4Android. That's the one I'm really missing more than anything. OEMs need to talk to that guy about paying him to include it in their roms.

When you changed the DPI did your app drawer button resize? I've changed my DPI down a little and no matter what value I use the drawer button doesn't resize and just looks like a big blurry blob.
I saw people mention in another thread that there were graphical issues with the stock launcher at non-stock dpi. That might be what you're seeing.

Can anyone else try this for me please? Modify your DPI and reboot. Then open the camera app, go to manual mode and select manual focus [MF] then scroll the wheel all the way up (toward the mountain icon). Let me know if the camera app force closes when you do this. it does for me. it's the only thing stopping me running a custom DPI. Thanks.

Strange - I can replicate it everytime. Oh well I'll put up with it for now.
Another issue I have is that while Nova works great with custom DPI, the lockscreen shortcut icons are all blank white icons. I assume because this is still using the stock lockscreen which doesn't like the 560 DPI. Are you seeing this?

I can also confirm this, with 560 DPI, the camera FC when i zoom all the way out but 540 DPI works fine.
I use nova, the stock launcher has a number of glitches at anything but standard DPI. And the lockscreen is LG's stuff so yeah white icons. I have a quick circle case and when I close it the analog clocks are to small and off center. The digital clocks with weather work fine (?!), funny thing is the white "ring effect" when closing the cover is way of center, even though I use the digital clock that fits. Weirdness....
When I had samsung devices in the past developers sooner or later released modified stock apps that worked with most DPIs. It's probably going to happen here to ...

No such issue at 540dpi. Manual slider can be moved all the way up/down without FC'ing.

You can also use a custom launcher like Nova.
Custom launcher, or change your dpi. There's a simple way to do that by modifying your build.prop, but there's also a free app on the play store called texdroider that'll do it for you. Heads up though, lowering dpi will make everything smaller! Personally, I love that seeing as we have such a sharp, big screen. It allows a lot more to fit without scrolling. Just try different values until you find one you like!
