Ok ive had the phone for 3 days now and i really love this phone because of the fluidity..but the size is killing me im thinking of sending it back and Jumping my s6 for a note 5 then rooting it after.. idk if its the ergonomics of the 6p that doesnt let me enjoy the phone... so i did order some cases for the phone but they wont get here till nov 16-19 and my nexus 6p return date is nov 19, so i honestly dont know what to do maybe when the case ges here ill have better grip and it will feel better? But then if it doesnt then i have to send 2 cases back and the phone...
Idk..but my question to all xda members/owners of this beautiful phone...how did u get use to this phone?
(Btw currently have the phone in its box because i dont wanna scratch it and feels slippery with no case at the moment)
Thanks in advance!!

Coming from the Nexus 5 (biggest phone i'd ever have) it took me no more than 24 hours to get used to having a larger phone. Granted I do have bigger hands (6ft tall) but after having this for a few days I could never go back to a smaller phone.
Can't go back to small phones, sorry
My 2 cents is that you should have looked at the Samsung Note 5/4. Since it has the same size screen as the Nexus 6p. Then you could have decided if you liked the bigger phone.
I agree here. Coming from an N5 it's definitely much more slippery and that combined with being larger it's harder to hold on to. I might break my naked rule on this phone. Still getting used to it as I've only been using it since last night but it does make me a little nervous about breaking it out while walking down a sidewalk. I'm 6'2" with good sized hands as well.

I haven't seen a Note 5 in a while, but isn't it a similar size to the 6P? They're both big phones with 5.7" screens.

I can do one handed texting without a hitch but then again i could use the nexus 6 (shamu) fine as well but i am 6'4" with big hands. Phone feels a lot bigger then the note 5 to me and about the same as note 4. Really good size though. Nexus 6 was a tad too big and this is like perfect

Well, it would have gave the OP a good comparison on a bigger phone. Even if the OP looked at the iPhone 6s plus. Which is very close to the size of the N6p. They could have made a judgement.
HTC Droid Incredible to a Galaxy S3 to a Nexus 5 to a 6P. Each phone gets incrementally larger and has taken me a bit to get used to. I'm 5' 9" with a average size hands. I find one handed usage is easy for certain things on the 6p and hard for other things. I've had my 6p for just over a week and would never think of sending it back do to size. I've found that using 2 hands just works better on this phone for most things and honestly that's okay. I've never understood the desire to use a phone with one hand at all times. To each his own but this phone works great for me and my average size hands. As always YMMV
Same here. Everything is perfect except the size. I am coming from HTC m8 so my hands sorta hurt while holding it in one hand but I am trying get used to it.

I work at tmobile so ive played and delt with the 6 plus but i guess not enough to think it could be a daily driver as in one hand use.. and note 5 is the same "screen" size as the nexus 6p but body is much smaller due to no front facing speakers but theres a dual speaker mod that makes the ear speaker in conjunction with regular speaker sound loud but idk i just love how fast the 6p idk... man this is hard...cases havent even shipped yet so i still have a chance to cancel and just buy the cases for the note 5 .. everytime i sell a note 5 it feels so good and small in the hand....

I have been using my nexus 4 on at&t's network for a little over a month now and I cannot find one downfall of this phone... I applied a Dbrand black leather sticker on the back glass and that just made the phone feel more professional.. almost like a blackberry 9900. (but more functional) My question is, has anyone found a phone that can shake a stick at the nexus 4 as far as fit and function. I have a Htc One and i am thinking of returning it because I see myself using the nexus 4 and leaving the one at home more often then not.

I'm a fan of the N4 but you have to be realistic. There are plenty of phones now which can easily be considered better than it (e.g. HTC One, S4, LG OG Pro, Xperia Z) and while none of them are anywhere near as good a deal as the N4, most are better phones for the majority. Only a few people actually care about updates outside of XDA and don't really know how awesome stock Android is compared to other UIs.

Yes it's too good
I wasn't really impressed with the S4 or the HTC one tbh. Overpriced for basically the same specs you get with the N4. Samsung phones are loaded with bloat now,and feel like a hollow plastic toy. You can hardly tell its android anymore with the TW bloat interface. Yea the HTC one has a nice build quality, but is it really worth shelling out almost 700$ for? I don't think so. I will never buy another non nexus device again. (All personal opinion) I am extremely happy with my N4. I haven't had 1 single issue with it. I get 2.5 days of heavy use and about 5 hours screen on time with my ROM kernel combo. And for 350$ you cant beat it.
Keep the Nexus, return the One.

Yea don't get me wrong, it is a really nice phone. The screen is large and vibrant. The specs are great. I just think its too large, by the time you get a case on it, its even bigger. It would drive me nuts in my pocket.
Just got a nexus 6 off craigslist for retail.... Phone is huge but fits comfortable in the hand. Using NFC to automatically download all my apps and and settings was seamless. Used my note 4 as that is the phone I have been using this week. Willing to ask any questions and post pics.
How does the screen compare to the Note 4?

Does it seem snappier than the Nexus 5 and Note 4?
Does the trim around the sides look purple in person?
Congrats on getting it!
The screen on the note is a little sharper... It is so Much snappier then the note 4. I have an at&t note 4 and it is so sluggish even just using hangouts is a choir. I'm hoping they fix it with an update Samsung needs to boggle down touchwiz and change the ui so out dated.

Why would someone sell it at the list price, when he can get so much more for it??
She said she got it free from google and the phone was too big for her. I can only assume she didn't really know what the resell value is since it isn't out yet and she can't compare. She literally charged me just 649 gave me one dollar back. She rocked!
Nice! Please post some more pictures though.
Here's what I'm wondering:
- Is there any noticeable lag especially when opening apps, taking shots with the camera and going through the overview (recent apps)?
- How do the camera and display compare to the Note 4? Can you do some side-by-side pics comparing the two devices?
- Is the back of the phone "rubbery" (like the black Nexus 5) or "slippery" (like older Samsung phones)?
- Any issues while you've had it?
awesome man,
does it have slimport support?
trim color purplish or metal?
sot?
Does the front facing camera lag and stutter, especially in lowlight, like on the Moto X 2014?
If you had a Nexus 5 (new) in hand, would you pay the $700+ for a Nexus 6 or would you hold onto the Nexus 5 for a while longer?

Hmmm weird how she would get it free from Google. Did it come with everything or just the phone? Cause the cable I see attached to the phone in your initial post is white, I thought it was black from reviews I've seen. I can almost bet she works for a certain carrier and she took it lol.

So far I'm getting use to the size. This thing is huge. It's really fast but does show some lag when you open the camera and ambient doesn't work all the time. As far as if would I rather have my nexus 5 No I would choose the 6 over the 5 just because of the battery alone. Phone does not feel slippery at all. Metal trim is definitely blue when looking at it in person.

How bright is the screen in daylight outdoors.
How bad is the battery life compared to your note 4
Do you find it any faster than say, a nexus 5?
Does it still feel premium in hand than a note 4?
Anandtech reported slow Nand performance than nexus 5 and a worse lowlight camera performance than nexus 5. Even Joshua from the Verge said the n6 camera: "Its laughably bad"
Can you confirm any of this?

I'm coming from the Nexus 5 and I was worried about the size of the N6P. I went to best buy and messed with the iPhone 6s plus to get a feel for the size and it didn't seem too bad but now that I got it, it seems bigger even though they are pretty much the same. Maybe I'm just not used to it yet but its gonna take some adjusting.
Anyone got any stories of how they been adjusting? No more one handed use for me.. Well for some things I probably can still use one hand but for a lot of things.. Not soo much.
Yes I just came from the n5. The first 5 days honestly I didn't like this phone. It's just too damn big. But now I'm starting to love it. I swore for 2 years I would not use these huge phones but I might be coming around.
I skipped the N6, had to jump on the 6P though. I adjusted fine. This was after doing nothing but crying about just wanting an N5 refresh. After looking at the 5X and 6P the decision was easy.
My N5 looks so small in my hand now. All that needs to happen now is that jeans front pockets are made maybe an inch or two deeper. No I don't wear skinny jeans. And I'm about 6'2" so I haven't had much problem with the size, just a muscle memory adjustment like every other new phone.
Also hate cases and screen protectors, using it naked. Loving it.

Yeah I'm the same way. I skipped the N6 and even when they were announced I was like no that's too big and I always just wanted a 5 refresh but something about the 6P caught my attention at some point.
I prefer cases and screen protectors though lol
I used both my N6 and N5 and originally was going to upgrade the N5 to the N5X. I didn't like the memory options of the N5X and got the N6P instead. I was really becoming uncomfortable with the N5 due to its feeling too small compared to the N6, which is my primary phone. Now with the N6P I can move easily between the two.
2 years with my Nexus 5. Almost a week with My Nexus 6p. Love it. Now when I pick up my Nexus 5. It seem so small lol.
Picked up my N5 yesterday after a week with the 6P and it felt wrong. Far too small and bulky. Only thing I would have changed it to move the volume buttons up higher as you can nudge them reaching across to press the far side of the screen. Other than that I can't fault its size or feel.
I used the N5 for a whole year. Then I got the N6, and I adjusted fine, but I missed the perfect size of the N5. Now I got the N6P, and it's much better in the hand than the N6, so no problems here, I'm loving this phone!
Less than a week with 6P, and adjusting. Love it!
Pickup the 5 (using it now) Love it!
Need a case with a SIM cutout...

The phones sizes are now becoming like TV. When you move from 32 inch to 55 inch screen for the first couple of days it looks so big. And after a while you feel like, damn I should have gotten the 65 inch instead. Same will be true for the big screen smartphone. At first it looks to big, bulky, and ugly. After getting used to, once you'll hold back the Nexus 5, you'll feel like you are holding a baby and you'll quickly look for your Nexus 6P [emoji4]

Haven't really put much thought to it but it does have a crack in top left of screen. Still works fine just hairline crack. Huawei wanted 163 to repair. Decided to get pixel xl and couldn't he happier. Best Android phone I have owned and I have had all the top tier devices.

I share everyone's sentiments here. I received my XL today.
A few things...
1) Coming from a 6P that I love, I am in love with the size of the XL. It doesn't feel like a big phone. It's not unwieldy and it feels more pocketable. I know the size difference isn't huge on paper, but it's more tightly engineered. It doesn't feel top heavy. It's just more comfortable to hold. It doesn't feel a lot bigger than an iPhone 7.
2) I'm not in love with the black, though. It's more of a grey. It's not ugly, I just wish it was darker.
3) I know it's early, but damn it's smooth. No hiccups or stutters on my end.
4) I was using the Pixel launcher on the 6P. I love it.
5) Like the 6P, I enjoy the fingerprint reader on the back. It just makes sense. It even feels better here.
6) The hardware is flawless. Samsung and Apple flawless.
7) This started with Nougat, but I enjoy how the contact pictures show up on my 2016 Impala infotainment center. Other manufacturers have had this, so it's a nice addition.
8) It smelled good when I opened the box.
9) The lack of waterproofing is a bummer, but whatever. I've never dropped a phone in water. (I do have my iPhone 7 in my shower. I use it only as an iPod)
10) I really like it. Google did a hell of a job.
11) I know it won't be mentioned much, but Google nailed the launch. 2 weeks between preorder and delivery! Last year we waited nearly a month. I think the same thing happened with the Nexus 6. Everyone lauds how Apple does it, Google just did it too.

I intitially balked about the screen shrinking, then I remembered how I was initially against getting the 6P due to it's large screen size lol.
Just so I don't sound like a 'fanboy'...
One thing I find a little annoying on the pixel is that the auto brightness adjuster makes the screen too bright for my tastes.
I have the brightness slider almost all of the to the left.
Not a big deal, but I'm not sure why the default brightness is so high.

I had the note 2,3,5 but eventually switched to nexus 6 and 6p and have loved it, although disappointed with no OIS and the battery issues, my 4th RMA to be delivered today.
I personally am torn by the note 8 and pixel 2, once it's not so hideous, has less bezel. But the reasonable price on v20 and g6 seemed enticing for a second as does the screen on the s8.

Personal preference.
1. They look plain silly to me.
2. Distortion in the curved part of the screen.
3. Finger falls of on the curved portion, so it becomes an unusable area.
4. Cases now look strange.
..
..
I prefer a perfectly flat screen with minimal bezels.
I'll be hanging on to my Nexus 6P for a while if the Pixel2 has a curved screen.

I personally am torn by the note 8 and pixel 2, once it's not so hideous, has less bezel. But the reasonable price on v20 and g6 seemed enticing for a second as does the screen on the s8.

4th RMA? Aren't you entitled to a new device or a refund at that point??? I would've raised hell after the 3rd.

Since i'm on google fi, i have the nexus 6p at the moment. I'll pass on the Pixel line and wait another year to see what google will come out with
I've switched to the S8. I looked at the plus but it's actually a large phone and the s8 has the same size screen as the 6P, but not as wide. Really, it's been a good phone. The bluetooth/wifi isn't as strong as the 6P, but I like that it's water resistant and easier to handle. Also, the always on screen is great, battery life has been better than the 6P and yeah. It's been a good device for the 4 days I've had it lol. now to sell my 6p on swappa
Ordered the Galaxy S8 Plus International G955F Exynos model which has unlockable Bootloader!

The first one was because of the massive battery drain but it came slightly after my manufacturer warranty and they took care of me. After a few weeks I finally had somebody who let me know they couldn't really hear me very well, so I turn my speaker phone on and realized it was something in my microphone or whatever. So I had that replaced and the one they sent me after that had the same battery drain immediately, so now I'm on my fourth total, I've been on it for about 12 hours and I just hit 13% and it has not shut down so it looks like I might be okay for a while. I agree they need to do something. I'm not sure what's going to happen with this whole class action lawsuit situation but Google has taken care of me. No complaints. Definitely consider the pixel 2 if it has thin bezels and larger screen

Have considered the same but if I'm going Sammy, I'm going back to the note line. I LOVE this phone and the shamu though. I'd still be on it if the camera was better.

I wouldn't exactly call it junk. Knox is actually very good if you value security. It definitely increases the security of the phones.
It may hurt modding a phone but security should be every OEM's main focus, especially when their devices contain all your private information.

Should be an option and it should not brick the phone.

Perhaps if there's a way to hack the phone, then it is fully possible to install spyware, loggers, etc on the stock software, then sell it to someone and just steal everything. I do recall a ROM that actually did that and was instantly removed from the forums.
I mean it's nice to install custom ROMs on a phone, but you would really have to look at the whole picture and not from just what we want.

Note 8 or 2017 nexus for me. Haven't had a note device in 4 years (tablet). But I'm not particularly thrilled with a touchwiz device or non nexus because of the lag, the inevitable lag. I got a g4 2 yrs ago and got bored with no real ROMs or low ability to mod it
Basically, any new phone with dual front facing speakers I will probably buy. I would like to have a newer processor though for connectivity reasons.

I'm really curious what the note 8 will bring to the table, I had the note 1 (laggy mess but original concept), note 2 and note 3. The 2 and 3 were some of the best phones I've had tbh.
