Does anyone here work at Best Buy? Curious if the white Evo has arrived in stores. What are the chances that this phone will ship with OTA already applied? Also, how early does Best Buy get to turn one on as a demo unit? I have one pre-ordered for the 11th and hope to get some info on it now.

My store has 2 white demo's, one functional, the other not. It's just a white battery cover, nothing special, the rest of the phone is the same, black bezel, etc.
Stock won't truely come in untill the 11th afaik.
Can you check to see what hardware version your demo is 02 or 03. Also is it an Epson Or Nova screen?
I saw the dummy phone at my best buy and it looks like more than the battery cover is white. It seems like the whole back bezel is also white so the phone looks half white half black from the side view. Pretty cool looking IMO.

Best Buy's new sales ad starts Sunday, Shipments come in alot on saturday night to prepare for Sunday.

I got my white one today. Does not have the OTA update. it was built on 6/25/10, rev 003, epson screen. i swapped my old one, and i could not believe how different
the screen looks. my 002 nova was super purple. looks fine if you have nothing to compare it to though. your best buy should probably have them today too.. they got the go ahead to start selling them early.

as soon as mine was powered on and enabled to my account it instantly asked me to download the new update. i declined.
My local Best Buy has the new White Evos in stock, so I'm assuming it's been released across the country. [US]
I'm hoping to get one soon.

going on what PCW said the other day 'they are receiving the Xoom's in stock on saturday' and 'DHL that are delivering only work Mon-Fri' - if they get the stock on Sat, one would assume they can't pass it to DHL till Monday (today), and they'll faff around with it till tomorrow at least!
I'd assume PCW/Dixons/Currys being the same company will operate in the same fashion... although perhaps using different deliverys depending on the area

You would think so, but then you got the manuals which will probably have to be reworded and so on and so forth, plus things like volume would have to be readjusted as the volume laws are different in both countries, so thhings like that would have to be sortedbefore shipping, dam eu laws, wish i just ordered one from the usa, did that when i got my exus one, dam i miss that phone

Yep, the eu put a restriction on how loud a device can be, which is rather annoying
edit: on dixons and curry's it is in stock, as for pc world, its not available which is a lil worrying, unless they are just updating their site

I did originally get my tab from pcworld.co.uk BUT the box wasnt sealed. i think it had already been opened so i had it picked up today for a replacement to be sent out. I hope i get a replacement before they are banned nationwide :/ they said another one should be sent out by the end of the week. Does anyone know when this ban starts? is it immediately?

The security seals on my box had been replaced indicating that it had been opened, I think it was likely due to the unit having an update applied after being boxed (hoping that was all it was).

You've already made the purchase. The ban shouldn't affect you. It only affects new sales.

Given apple has a patent over the rectangle shape, does it now mean that my tab has gone up or down in value?
IMHO the ban is unlikely to be in place for long, Samsung needs to present its case yet

My concern though us continuing support from both Samsung and the Rom developers here on xda, if there are less tabs about, is that going to have a negative effect?

I'm sure anyone who sees the Ipad and Tab next to each other will see enough difference, so I can't wait to see Samsung make its case. Pictures can be so deceiving.... Some genius posted a picture of an Ipad and a Tab next to each other to show how similar they are...a Tab 7 that had been enlarged to look as big as the Pad! The Tab 7 was also shown in portrait mode, with just enough icons to look like the pad; no widgets. People can be really dumb.
Bloody gutted, I was holding out for the 32gb to be released tomorrow and was going to get one after work.
Guess it will make people walking into a store and seeing the TAB & iPad then considering purchasing the TAB only to find out none available so will go for the iPAD

Today customer service told me this phone is out of stock because of software issue.

Weird! I ordered mine 7 days ago (Thursday) and they blatently lied and told me I would get it the next day. Upon not receiving anything I rang them and they admitted that they had no stock and I shouldn't have been told this however, I left the order in place.
Yesterday, whilst bored, I opened up an online chat on the T-Mobile site and an assistant who appeared to have little grasp of anything assured me that they had stock so I imediately rang them.
I was then told that I would have my device sent by the end of the week (tomorrow). I assumed that this was another lie as nobody else appears to have any stock and this morning I received the stock text saying that they hadn't forgotten me and that they would let me know straight away about any stock updates
About an hour later I received another text saying that I would receive the device tomorrow together with a ukmail.com tracking number
Make of that what you will. We'll see tomorrow and I'll keep you posted.

Also what kind of T-Mobile bloatware is on the phone?

I would say very tiny gap at the top between aluminium and plastic. I have double dip hard case on though so never notice it.
No bloatware I can think of, most annoying thing for me is Blinkfeed that I cannot get rid of!

To get rid of Blinkfeed Ithink there are 2 options:
Install another launcher and make it is default (thanks godofwar424)
If you want to keep HTC's launcher/Sence5, Root your phone and un-install blinkfeed using tools like root-uninstaller or Titanium Backup etc
I have read some reviews on Amazon UK complaining about damage caused by the double dip hard case.

T-mobile? There's t-mobile services app where you can pay bills and check your horoscope (ffs)
There is also a load of other bloat from facebook, twitter, google etc, so if you want your phone
to be secure and spyware free you will eventually have to root and make your own ROM built from
secure apps and those which require no special permissions and lock down/encrypt everything else.
The handset is a class apart from the competition though.

I also read these (after purchasing!) but I can't see any damage on my phone. I remove my case every night as I put the phone into a dock (currently using car dock in the house until a suitable desktop dock is found that I like)

Same situation here, just had a recent text saying they havent forgotten about me lol.
I did Tweet tmobile support and they said no date yet.
Fingers crossed for this week.

I have no T-Mobile bloatware on it at all but the cid is ORANG01 and it is running 1.28.61.7 which I guess is orange firmware but haven't clarified that yet.
After 3 days of use, there doesn't seem to be any issues with the device (In fact it's brilliant :laugh

Good to hear that you have received your handset.
I spoke to T-Mobile customer support today and I have been told that the waiting time is 15 working days which means I can't have it till next week.
They guy also told me that I can go to a T-Mobile store and pickup a handset if I wanted to (and if I could find one)...
But, I will wait for T-Mobile to send my handset in post, hoping that it will be from the new stock.

Any tmob shop that I have called have said that they have no stock and it is pre-order only

If it does arrive it probably won't have a microphone in it
According to this Verizon will open prereg order direct tomorrow.
So as many of us know, Best Buy did not show the leather as being available only white, blue, grey. And they want $609 versus $550 direct from Verizon.
So, I might now bail on the Best Buy one I PO'd and order the leather one direct and forgo the $100 best buy gift card since I would have to buy the leather and since the VZW one is $59 cheaper + not having to buy a leather back, now the Verizon direct might be a better deal since I DO want leather.
BB = $609 + tax = 658.79 - $100 gift card = 558.79 + have to buy a leather back (60-80$ so say $60) = $618.79
Verizon = $550 + get leather (and maybe the plastic back I hope as some in the UK get a plastic when they buy the leather so 2 backs in 1 buy) - having to buy a leather back + less tax $44 = $593.98
OR.. maybe get BB to match the $550 price and then you are back to being ahead if you have to buy the leather back but I just called, and they say they do not price match... oh well. Tomorrow I decide if I keep the BB po or order the VZW direct.
ps - And these preorders will begin shipping before its in stores on Thursday, June 4 (which is when BB has earliest pickup).

I just did the same thing.
So now i have a BB preorder and a Verizon preorder 1 will get cancelled since the Verizon is set to ship 6/1 so maybe 6/3 or 6/4 delivery then I fully expect to cancel the BB preorder - the day I get the VZW phone - because as per above, the direct Verizon is a better deal IF you want leather - and I want leather.
Just cancelled my BB order. Getting the leather from verizon. Just a heads up... I had to call best buy to cancel... Online would not let me.
Or you can live in a state like me with no sales tax and still win leather back is useless unless you're planning on not having a case (which is just stupid).

Yes, it is the "black" one. And yes, they do not make it entirely clear and obvious, especially when on a mobile device.
Some might be able to find out today what we get in the box - and how the phone seems - since Verizon claims "select stores" will have them in shop to see as of today. My local shop did not.

Lollipop has barely been adopted and pushed out to phones - atiny laughable 1.6% of Android OS usage - and now they are on to something else. This is part of the fragmentation downside of the Android OS. Most are still on KK and JB. Some might even end up skipping Lollipop usage actually. And even if this phone can support M - which I bet it can - that could be a year away (or more) based on M offical release and then, the provider prepping it for the phone and then pushing it. M? I couldn't care less about M right now.

And even if this phone can support M - which I bet it can - that could be a year away (or more) based on M offical release and then, the provider prepping it for the phone and then pushing it. M? I couldn't care less about M right now.

I agree. My note 4 is on kitkat still and i have no issues with it. I feel no need to upgrade to lollipop yet.
