These are links to factory images that I have pulled from different sources and have posted here for you guys to use to to restore your tablets to factory out of the box status they all work. Personally tested. If you have any problems its usually a bad download. So just redownload and you should be okay then. I regularly use these files when I experiment and they all work. I will update the thread when new firmwares are released. The latest was released June the 13th and seems to help with the battery drain issues. Im getting 7 hours screen on time now whereas before I was getting maybe 4.
Those files....ALL OF THEM ARE FOR THE N5110 ONLY. N5110 US VERSION ONLY. MEANING THE WIFI VERSION. SO PLEASE PLEASE DONT FLASH THESE TO ANY OTHER DEVICES. I TAKE NO RESPONSIBILITY FOR DESTROYED DEVICES. You have been warned.
You will lose custom recovery and root access when you flash these, remember its putting your tablet back to how it was when you bought it. The easiest way to regain root access is to use mskips toolkit. Its a great tool and works 100 percent of the time. Hes a highly skilled developer and I stand by everything he puts out so check out his thread in original development and download his toolkit. Another benefit of downloading his toolkit is that it contains the ODIN version you will need to flash these files. So check him out. You wont be disappointed.
Good luck and happy flashing!
Below is a small 6 megabyte file update.zip pushed to United States n5110 devices this morning.
Must be flashed completely stock. This brings your firmware to ueemf2.
REMEMBER THIS IS A PATCH OTA FILE I GRABBED FROM MY DEVICE WHEN IT WAS PUSHED OUT TO MY US N5110. Gotta be completely stock to flash.
Change log for ueemf2 is
"Stability improvements“
But there does seem to be faster ui. Tell me what you think. Link below.

You can also use Google Drive
Ok I will try now
Edit I'm going to have to try from my home at 5pm its not working from my phone nor tablet. Google drive is a huge space hog by the way over 1gb application wtf!

Never use Dropbox public links for sharing to masses. They will block these after a certain amount of traffic. Instead use the sharing function, which will lead the user to the dropbox site from where you can download as easy as with public links.
Thank you. Looking forward for your post
Does anyone know how to use Google drive to upload. I keep getting but o see nothing happening. Nothing no progress bar nothing
Sent from my GT-N5110 using Tapatalk 2
Just open the browser, and go to Google Drive. Select the file that you want to upload and drop it in the browser. Once it finish to load the file you need to select the file, right click and share it.
Yea but it just hangs at waiting for upload
I know I sound stupid but I've been trying all dn day to get it to upload. Just hangs at waiting to upload. Then sometimes it starts stops and disappears then notification comes up saying I have no more space on my phone which has 8 gb free. This is weird

Newest firmware released and uploaded check OP FOR DOWNLOAD LINKS. hopefully this will help those of you out of a pickle. Remember restoring to factory stock may remove root access and erase data . It will also replace custom recovery with the standard android recovery. So no complaining about lost stuff...
But this will save you if you borked up your nice shiny tablet. Guaranteed.
Yourrrr welcome. Pm me for questions help and concerns. A question not asked is the only stupid question. Oh and " use the search function" replies that are frequently told to new users are not allowed here. Period. Respect all.

Hi, I just received my Note 8 and want to confirm if those original images are for any 5110. Are there many different models or I can just install the newest one.
Thanks,

Hi! I have just 8 days with my galaxy Note and I have already install civato's rom and that kind of things. So my question is if I can install this firmware to revert all to stock, but my device says: N5110XXBMC9.
So that's what I'm asking!

Probably not. This firmware is for the UNITED STATES version of the galaxy note 8.0. I am not sure if you can or not. You may need to look for a firmware for your country.
Heres a helpful link.
Sammobile.com
Click firmwares fill out the click box forms and it will pull up whatever is available for your country or region. Then youll be able to download the stock firmware for your specific model.

I bought my N5110 in Canada and it came with XXBMC9 stock. I later flashed Civ's custom kernel and Rom which was the US version XXBMD1. Then yesterday I flashed the new UEEMF1 firmware from Beanstown's thread and it's all working great for me.
Just received JDQ39.I537ucuamf3 OTA, anyone have any idea what it was? Probably just made it even harder to root lol.

I usually don't take OTA updates if I have any plans of rooting or keeping root.
U.S. localized versions of the latest MEA/MF2 branch of Samsung official builds.
Check over in the i9505 threads for more info. It's possible some things have been tweaked for AT&T, but probably not a whole lot.
That update will probably allow app2sd functionality, not to mention the "purple smearing" effect some have complained of, and a few other little updates.
But as the other poster said, I wouldn't flash it until it's confirmed that it doesn't patch the loki aboot exploit. Otherwise, you can say goodbye to custom roms and root.

Unfortunately the update is FORCED. In mine there was no way to not accept it. If you hit cancel it just reboots and installs anyway. So not much choice on not taking it...
It does include app2sd though. Which is nice.

Only forced if you're completely stock and un-rooted.
At a bare minimum, you should root, and freeze the appropriate OTA update apps to prevent that kinda thing.
Again, AT&T will eventually patch the loki-exploit, and possibly at the same time roll out "root defeating" kernels.
It's just a matter of time.
There isn't an option but to be completely stock and unrooted with this phone yet unfortunately.

God dang it! I wish I read this thread BEFORE accepting the update. Now I really hope AT&T or Samsung has not patched anything that prevent root.
I cannot NOT use Wifi since I have very limited data plan...
Has it ever happen in the past, at least with AT&T phone, that they send OTA update that PREVENT rooting the phone EVER?
Don't fret. We have some mighty fine developers here. You will be able to root it.

LCD screens don't suffer from the purple smearing anyway. That's just something that AMOLED screens do. No way around it except to change the colors a bit. Which was all they did for the GS4.

I never took the update (I didn't connect to wifi so it didn't force me to update) but now I want to update it. However, when I hit the update button it tells me that 'the software update was interrupted' and won't download the new FW. If I hit it again it says I have to wait another 24 hrs. I tried changing the date to a day ahead but it still failed. I was able to update the wifes phone no problem but I accepted it as soon as it notified me.
Is the above link the current FW? I see the name is UCUAMF1 but mine came with UCUAMF2 from the store... I'd rather just update the FW since it appears everyone else got forced to update but can still root it.
Edit: Phone fixed itself overnight connected to wifi.

Hey everyone. I just got an OTA update for my Note 8.0 LTE (AT&T). It's a small update (16.3MB). The new firmware build is I467UCAMF2. This is probably just a bugfix update but OTAs are almost always a good thing.

Update the Software for the Samsung Galaxy Note 8.0 (i467)
Update summary
The latest software package updates the baseband version to I467UCAMF2, and includes improvements to the initial setup process on the device. The update is available for download over a Wi-Fi network connection.
What to expect after the update
Although there should be no impacts to settings or data, we recommend that you back up your media files to an SD card, a PC, or using a favorite application (from the Play Store), prior to upgrading the software. For information on backing up and restoring your phone using Samsung Kies, click here.
How to update
Customers will receive an alert and be prompted to download the update, or have the option to initiate the update manually. When prompted, you can postpone the update up to 3 times, and 4 hours per occurrence. After the update has been postponed for the maximum allowable time, your device will automatically download and install the update.
Note: Before the update can begin, your tablet must be connected to a Wi-Fi network.
To initiate the update manually, go to Settings .
Scroll to the "System" section, and then tap About device > Software update > Check for updates.
Tap OK.
The device will determine if new software is available, and begin downloading the software update. Once complete, the device will restart.
Please wait until your tablet reboots completely, and then tap Done to finish.
How to verify the update
From the home screen, tap Settings .
NOTE: Alternatively, from the home screen, press the Menu key, and then tap Settings.
From the "more" tab, tap About device. The following information will be displayed:
Android version: 4.1.2
Baseband version: I467UCAMF2
Build number: JZO54K.I467UCAMF2

OK so allow me to translate that into English:
"Because we're A, T and f***ing T, we decided to make Samsung replace Google's normal Android setup app with our own called AT&T Ready2Go. The problem is, again because we're A, T and f***ing T, our app sucks. If you have two-step verification enabled on your Google account, you won't be able to sign into your Google account during setup with AT&T Ready2Go. I guess we underestimated how many people actually have it turned on, so oops! Our bad. Here, it's enabled. Happy now?"
I manually updated a couple of hours ago. After playing around with the Note 8 with the update for about an hour I no longer experience the screen stutter/freeze/pause/etc. issue. I hope this in fact is fixed, but so far so good.

I'm still getting the unresponsive screen issue post-update. I've thought about doing a reset, but haven't actually done it yet.
Would be nice if someone had the OTA zip, as it is possible a root could be made from it if the right images are included.

A little of both. The bootloader is encrypted and locked on the AT&T model, but also, very few of us on XDA actually have one. Let's be real. People around here thumb their noses at tablets with an LTE connection a lot of times. They just have no hipster cred in the Android geek community. The in crowd just buys a WiFi-only tablet and tethers it to their phone. It's the geekier thing to do, even if it's a pain in the @$$. You can talk about why LTE tablets are useful until you're blue in the face but it falls on deaf ears more often than not.
Unfortunately, I'm not very optimistic that we'll ever see root unless there comes a time where the WiFi-only root method works on the AT&T model.

Is it encrypted? I got this tablet 2nd hand and I may never even put service on it. If I can't root it, I'll probably trade it for a wifi version. I know AT&T and Verizon pushed an OTA to the S4's that prevented root. Luckily I was rooted/rom'ed prior to that. My GN8 doesn't have the latest OTA. I'm still hopeful for root and unlock/simunlock so I can grab a pre-paid card for this tab.

Those who got the device with a locked bootloader knew what that would imply and what they are getting into.
Now you, with a locked bootloader, wish that there will be a big security flaw for all devices (also the unlockable) just so that you have an easy root? That is really selfish.

Dear Technaudio,
how does one go back to 4.1.2?
I really want to go back, these new updates are doing the Z no good as far as i know. The UI looks worse, the camera makes a chirping sound when started fast and now the battery drains like a moterh****er too.
One thing I keep hearing which does not make sense is what is this battery drain that everyone keeps complaining about, I have had no problems since updating to Kitkat. What is normally recommended when doing and upgrade like this is to do a factory reset when you flash so you start fresh, that's what I did and I have not had one issue. I would say to guess this next update to come won't fix the problems you are having or it will create new issues as each update does. When I flash this next update I will be wiping all user data and apps and starting again as that is the easiest way to make sure any new issues don't affect your phone. I get no lag no battery drain no Google server issues nothing my update that I have is the best update Sony has done to date. If you are having these issues factory reset your phone and I bet you 100% all your issues will be gone!!!

Flash a .FTF file using flashtool.
Search the forum (XZ forum) for 4.1.2 .FTF roms, flash your device and done.
Be careful tho because if you don't untick that you want to keep your files, you will lose everything on your memory (SD card not included I believe)

I really want to go back, these new updates are doing the Z no good as far as i know. The UI looks worse, the camera makes a chirping sound when started fast and now the battery drains like a moterh****er too.

Go back to 4.1.2, root, via any simple 1 click method, allow ota updates, done. Simple. Rooted 4.4.2 no bl unlock required.

Have you tested and it worked?

I'm currently on a custom rom at the moment, I've not tried with 4.4.2 yet, as it only got released for UK in the last few days, but it's worked for every ota update before. However, if you've changed anything in /system it will fail.
I will do it sometime soon as there's a few annoyances with this custom rom, as there always is, and I've never had any problems with stock and root by doing it this way.

Wrong. I updated via OTA from 4.3 to 4.4.2 and retained root.

First, plug phone into computer, and install updater software from the phone that is on the device in 'Installer Mode'. Take the download on the PC, then follow directions below, and you can still have root after.

Hi again,
I installed the upgrade assistant in installer mode but for some reason it is not picking up the new NE9 update on my computer. See attached print screen. Very strange.. It sees the update on my phone to download though.:cyclops: Do you know why this is and how I can get it to see the update on the upgrade assistant as you mentioned?
Kind Regards
Can you explain why you want the update so bad? You do realize that rooting and accepting official otas is completely contradictory, correct? OTAs are generally what fix things like what towelroot exploits. If you accept official OTA, you will likely lose root.
But can't I just re root after the ota? I guess the reason I want the Ota because I heard of camera enhancements and stability fixes

No. OTA have patches for known security flaws as well. The flaw that towelroot relies on is closed after the new OTA. Meaning, no more root.
edit: in this case I believe folks have figured out a work around for keeping root with the update. In general though, if you value root and what it provides you do not accept official releases.

@ks3rv3rg I believe the links mentioned above provide a workaround for the Root to be kept after updating.
As for the problem nick, I can't help you there. I haven't personally take it as I see taking OTA's is silly with a rooted phone you can modify to be much more. Perhaps someone else who has done it will chime in...
Thank you both for your perspectives.. Plus, I can always just wait for a ROM that currently has the update installed.

Thank you both for educating me on this. Ill try the work around to try to keep the root and update. I just wish I could get the Verizon update assistant to download the NE9. Either way Ill just wait for a ROM with the new OTA.

I just saw that JasmineROM came out and it's updated to NE9 and all you do is flash the stuff. Check it out.

I think you are referring to my safestrap flashable OTA zip file. I'm going to keep that one in my back pocket for the next OTA since the kernel swap worked.
I'm happy to say I installed this rom and the firmware and it rocks!! Thank you .plus I got my download booster and my overclock settings!!

I have a similar question but reversed. How do I stop it from updating and it from asking me to update? I have the free version of titanium backup and can't freeze it. Is their another way? I can't turn off SDM that runs the ota upgrade i can only force stop it.
