[SOLVED] Music beta outside of US

I have Google Beta working and syncing to device outside of US....Heres how I did it.
Sign up for beta using a proxy server (I used http://hidemyass.com/)
Use "Market enabler" to fake a US provider to download music beta
then follow directions for music beta and away you go
confirmed working in canada.

do you have to always run Market Enabler every time you use music beta?

you shouldn't have to once you set fake on boot, but to be honest i havent reboot my phone since stumbling upon this...
The only time you "need" to run market enabler is to install the app, I just tested it when rebooting after a rom install

I faked my ip using zend2.com and then used MarketEnabler to download the Music app. And after that, Music Beta runs seamlessly on my phone. I'm in Vietnam, but I don't experience significant lag (just about 1-2 secs at the beginning at a song) with the service.
In fact, I came to love this service so much. I'm impressed that it's working well in a remote country to US like Vietnam lol

i can only ask an invitation, now is up to google, i guess...

no, once its downloaded, you're good to go. You'll have to use it for any updates though to the app.
Got my invite last night, working well so far

I got mine last night too. Working in Canada. Upload speed is terrible. Uploading 6000 songs, after 24hrs, 1050 songs uploaded. Wow.

upload is based on your connection I believe but ya its taking way too long....

Got my invite last week, upload is slow but it's looking good.

Any of you guys getting skipped songs? i have 1k skipped tracks for some reason :/

only 14 skipped here

I'm living in Singapore however I receive the update as per normal on market. However it functions as normal music player only ...

I didn't apply for any invites just for your info I have no idea why it popped up as an update

I got mine on Tuesday and applied the first day

I'm in Canada as well and had an update notification through my market. When you clicked to update it would time out by saying "not found". However you can update by long pressing the app and selecting update.
Now I'm simply waiting for my invite.

I submitted my invite request a couple weeks ago using the suggestion in the OP, but I haven't heard anything yet. Hopefully soon!

Confirmed Works in New Zealand.

Worked for me but I stopped using it, it really drains the battery to have that service running all the time.

Google Play Books starting to get annoying.

Does anyone have this issue with Google Play Books working then after 2 days the app is missing? When ever it happens I have to uninstall updates then update it again for it to show up. I think part of it is that I live in Guam, part of U.S. at the same time not really. Same situation as Puerto Rico. Anyone have any suggestions for this problem. Besides going back to the mainland.

I was able to download the app back from the Play store after it disappeared and now it stays. Go look through the list of apps you own / have downloaded.

It disappeared again from the home screen and app drawer, widget disappeared too, so I decided to check settings>apps> all and its there but unusable, have to uninstall then install. Sigh, it's such a hassle to check if it disappeared when going to places without Wi-Fi.Just purchased 3 books, and would be a waste of money to switch to another app.

If you are rooted, you can convert it to a user app instead of system and it'll stay. That's what I did and I've never actually been to the us

I see, thanks, just going to stay stock for a month. I've always rooted my phones on day one and never experienced pure stock before, plus its different with a nexus, there's no sd card, so all my content would get wiped, nearly filled my 16 gb, and could imagine how long everything would take to put back.

Little Tip mate, stop uninstalling and re-downloading etc.
Try downloading a File Explorer e.g. - ES File Explorer.
Find the App in the File Explorer, long press it and click "Create Shortcut" BAM!

I'm still on stock too, I just unlocked and flashed su and bb for the little extra functionality.
Sadly, unlocking will do a complete wipe. But I picked up something about rooting without unlocking, using a method from the galaxy. Not sure it'll work tho, at least one person here suggested that it should. Might be worth looking up if you feel books is worth the trouble

Try this

Just download the apk lol.
I have a friend with oneplus one and n5 and he didn't receive it either, so it doesn't mean anything

Google for most of their apps (esp Play Services and Play Store) roll out updates in stages usually over a week or two, you just get it when you do, I don't have it on any of my devices yet but it will come.
Like others have said you can manually update with the apk if you want it faster.

I've just had mine update not 10 minutes ago, looks very good the material design makes me want Android L even more now

My brother's SAMSUNG GALAXY GRAND DUOS (GT-I9082) rooted running on LiquidSmooth v 3.2 just got it few hours ago. May be he got it due to PA GAPPS!
And I'm still waiting for it! Haha

I got it last night. Must say not quite impressed. Minor UI changes & nothing else. So all those who have not received it yet, you ain't missing much guys. :good:

Miner UI changes. But its awesome.
And i feel now its double fast too.

I got an update today on 5.0.31 ....

Update manually
I found a way to update manually without having to download any apk file. You can do it right from Google Play Store. Here is how:
-Open Play Store
-Press the menu button (top left of the screen, 3 horizontal lines)
-Select "Settings"
-Scroll down and under "About" you should see "Build version". Press it and it should say that "Google is going to download a new version of Play Store and update it" or something similar
-Wait a few minutes
That's it. You should have the latest version of Play Store now.

I was just about to check, but then realised, it's already v5.0.31 :good:

I just got the update, not much but good ui

me too checked today and it was updated

I am on v5.0.32 due to force update through normal apk installation.

Kodi removed from the Play Store?

I can still see it via browser on my desktop and my Moto X but it seems to be gone from the Play Store on the Nexus Player. If I try to install it to the Nexus Player from my browser, it just hangs.

I'm running into the same problem. I just set up my nexus player yesterday, so I haven't been able to get Kodi on it at all yet. Hoping that it pops back up on the store.

You can still sideload it.

Yea. I noticed that yesterday. Just got this on Friday and trying different roms. I can say it WAS in playstore on Friday but gone by yesterday afternoon.

Still available for the Razer Forge TV, hopefully temporary.

I loaded Kodi on Thursday and then removed to start a fresh build late Saturday night and when I went to the Play Store to load it, I couldn't find it. I screwed around for hours and subsequently beat my Nexus Player with my fists until it popped apart and bloodied my right hand, as assumed it was the device and then maybe a Google account issue. I eventually found the number for Google service and after about 20 minutes on the phone, they discovered there was an issue. The rep said he believed it was an issue with the developer and that it must've just happened because somebody else had called in to another rep about the issue while I was on the phone with him. Think the player is going to go back to the store, regardless of whether or not I damaged it permanently from beating it. By the way, Kodi IS still available on my Android tablet via the Play Store just not the Nexus Player. I might just take this as my red flag that the Nexus is going to be quirky in the future and be done with it.

Well That video is months old but it worked for me... i downloaded the x86 version haven't had a issue. The version in that vid is like 14.0 helix were now on 15.2

Yea, it came back today.

Mine never came back and I am having a problem on the x86 version (cannot connect to pvr that is on my network), gonna try the ARM version to see if that fixes it
EDIT: After uninstalling the x86 version that I loaded the other day but wasn't working with my PVR, I checked the play store and it was available on there and I installed it and it works perfectly again with my pvr

LOL! What is with people and having to have kodi? It's like, crack for media junkies! I have never used this Kodi (XBMC). What is so great about it?

I was going to say, I checked and it is on the playstore. It says "Updated 10/27/2015". Kodi goes off the playstore for a day, this guy notices, and all hell breaks lose! LOL

It doesn't, that bug only existed for a couple weeks. It was fixed in 15.0 beta 1 back in the early spring. You're better off using the x86 version now.

Samsung Internet Browser now available on Play Store

just an FYI to my fellow VZW people, the samsung browser is available in the play store. on reddit, some vzw people said it still wasn't, while a few of us said it was, and we got it fine. i have it running with an ad blocker and all. try it out and see if it works for you. it's SO much faster than chrome, especially with Crystal (the ad blocker) so i deleted chrome. idc about synced bookmarks anymore honestly bc of how crappy chrome is on mobile.

I had already installed it from another thread on XDA then this morning when I clicked on a Playstore link for it, the Update button was live and updated it to a new version.

Yeah not working for me on a brand new phone with new software updates.

I was disappointed as well. I loaded Firefox and have been using it. Frankly, I like Firefox on my PC, but mobile, not so much. Thank you for the heads up.

I put a help ticket in at samsung asking for an apk. I'll update y'all with what they say

The 50 one in this thread is what I was using until my update from the Playstore. The Playstore updated it to the 51 version. Worked just fine for me.

i also never took any updates....i'm on day 1 stock with OTA frozen on my phone (because i don't like taking updates until i can verify with poeple that there's no issues, unlike the note 4 5.0.1 fiasco.....) so maybe htat has something to do wtih it? idk.

Could be, I also have Ota frozen

Here's the update: the browser came out after the s7 was released and was originally setup for the older devices. We may receive the browser in a future feature update.

Per samsung customer service

no it didn't. that browser was around when marshmallow came out to the note 5/s6 etc...which was before the s7. samsung customer service is useless lol

I ended up going to the google play store on my mac and selecting install and it pushed it to my s7.Did not give the option from the play store on my s7.

I downloaded the version from Dropbox as the one from mega won't install either. That works though the play store version still says not compatible.

Been using the 51 version since available, was also saying device not compatible, but today it links up perfectly to play store

I was using version 50 without a problem and the Playstore said it was incompatible until last Thursday when Playstore notified me of an update to Version 51. Let it update and runs perfectly.

So then, everything is working for you now?

Works for me today from the play store.
