Has anyone run into this warning? I'm on the latest build that came out today. Not sure if it's something I did, or if this is normal for when you are rooted, bootloader unlocked, etc.
Never seen this. I would contact either Huawei or Google.

I've seen it when running ROMs on my G4. It's a check that fails, it doesn't affect any operation whatsoever.....that I've seen at least.

Did you flash the vendor image? I believe it's due to a build.prop mismatch between the vendor & system partitions but it won't cause any issues.

So I checked the build.prop in the vendor folder, and you were right. The build numbers don't match. Weird though! Never flashed vendor.img before. Did shamu have those?

No problem! I don't know why the error is worded the way it is anyway, when I first read it I presumed it meant a hardware problem and not a minor software issue.

Yup, that is the manual way. What part of ADB have you had difficulty with? There's a fairly comprehensive guide by Heisenberg that walks you through using ADB/fastboot quite simply. I use fastboot on OSX, so if you're using a Mac I can offer a tip or two.

Well, from what I see (can't download as I'm a 5X user) Screw'd by dsmitty166 has a 12/27 build which is based on December security update. This sounds like what you are flashing. There is one January Angler build that was released yesterday according to their G+. I am willing to bet the January release is up to date whenever it is released publicly.

No doubt, hope that helps. I can't help you beyond that since it appears the rom is in a beta stage of some sort given there isn't a new changelog beyond late December.
Just got NPD35K pushed to my phone. Hopefully some new stuff from the Google I/O?
I thought I wouldn't be able to receive updates with a rooted device and a custom kernel. Is this the new way of Android N system image pushing?
Apparently this is now the actual beta. And no longer a preview version. This counts as preview 3.

Just received it also. Great ... exciting!
Got it here too,so far,so good!!!

I've never once taken an ota but I'm tempted. Is it safe to accept if you're decrypted?

Were you unencrypted when you updated to it? I know TWRP doesn't work when it's encrypted (on N) so I'm waiting for the factory images to be released so I can modify those and stay unencrypted, but if it works anyway I'll update ASAP.
Hello. I want to take this update too. My bootloader is locked. Though i have enabled oem unlocking and usb debugging. Can i ota update to android n beta? I mean in case i get into bootloop. I have everything stock. Nothing changed. Currently on may update mob30i.

Hi
Got a Nexus 6p from google. I have flashed Purenexus and ElementX kernel onto it.
Work well except, I am on optus and in some areas ( Central Station, Burwood station, some places around CBD), I loose connectivity.
So typically I lose data access - so games stop etc etc. I have data show up when its Rx/Tx. so I can see. still says I have 5 bars but no data
Usually the only way to fix this is to goto airplane mode and then come back out.
This is a real pain. I don't remember having this problem on telstra.
So I thought maybe I don't have the right modem firmware (what am i supposed to call it ?).
How can I check what version i have
And can any one recommend a newer / better / latest one that should work with optus ???

You do not need root to read most system files.
It used to be in /cache but deletes itself after the flash.

I know. Since I flashed it, I couldn't pull the ota through logcat.
My update is having issues. Tried a handful of times and would get "update could not be verified" or something similar after the download would complete update. When it doesn't fail verification, the install fails after rebooting. wtf, I have tried the VZW/Moto software update program but it returns that I have the latest software. Guess that channel might not be updated yet.

Hello, but sorry it isn't the common warning. Since the begining i have unlock my bootloader (september or october)i have this warning. And not the first i have post. It's not the same.
Again this is a quite common warning on the one plus 5. Have you recently flashes a new ROM?
Have you updated widevile L1 in a service center? If so, that's the reason of the new warning message, nothing to worry about..
That warning is when you flashed Open Beta 10. There is an file (abl.elf) in the firmware that replaces the old warning screen to new warning screen. Nothing more, nothing less. So no worry though...

That's the new bootloader from beta 10. Everyone who has that installed with an unlocked bootloader will have it that way. And simply reverting to previous builds won't change it. But that's just a cosmetic change so don't worry about it.

That's correct. Reverting to the previous Oreo builds won't change it because the new file in the firmware is only present in OB10, and not the older Oreo builds, so it won't be overwritten even if an older Oreo build is flashed.
However, the Nougat builds of OOS had this file present in their firmware, so flashing the firmware of any of the Nougat OOS builds will get the old warning back, theoretically.
Can i delete this file? Because i will switch to recovery or fastboot over this screen.
Thanks Paper
