So I did some benchmarks with my new 6p(stock and unrooted) and for some reason the phone got better results from 3dMark with battery saver on compared to battery saver off. (1609 with battery saver and 1491 without battery saver.) Is there a reason why battery saver helped the phone get better scores?(I can't post the picture since i'm a new member. If anyone wants to see the results I can pm.)

Hello
Back in the days when I had an s3. I remember that the power saving mode had a significant effect on the battery life as well as performance.
Can anyone explain how the battery saving helps in gs4. I notice no performance difference here. Are the a15 cores still getting used when the mode is turned on?
Also, can anyone report better battery life with powersaver turned on vs off on i9500?
Thank You.

My GT-I9505 has always had a very poor battery life. However, thanks to Greenify and Amplify I managed to reduce the battery drain during deep sleep almost entirely. However, I noticed huge battery drain when the screen is on, it takes half of the battery and just for less than 2 hours of screen on! The brightness is set to minimum, I use Slimkat's Dark UI which it should help the AMOLED screen, but these battery drops keeps staying (even with other ROMs i have the same battery drain)... A friend of mine has got a Galaxy S5 and its battery is absolutely brilliant, screen takes only 20% in the battery stats and he uses it far more than me... Is this a normal attitude on the S4?

The S5 does have a bigger battery (bigger in terms of mAh). It also depends on the age of the battery. If the phone is new (therefor has a new battery) it obviously lasts longer. It also depends on what you are doing when the screen is on. Do you play games or what?
I usually read on my S4 and it does not drain so much as to go from 100% to 50% in 2 hours. But I'm running lollipop. I've never had any other rom beside original firmware and lollipop gpe.
Check your settings and governor.

Hi mate
Use an app like BBS let it run when the screen is on to really see what is keeping the phone awake

Hi. Im using an HTC One M8 Internation Version clocked at 2.5ghz
This thread is to know if current users of the M8 toggles the power saver ON by default or OFF and do not use it at all.
This thread aims to discuss what are the difference between the two especially the options within the power saver (conserve cpu usage, lower brightness, vibration feedback, and sleep mode)
But as for some using Greenify + Amplify, this power saver might not be needed anymore. What I am concerned now is the "conserve cpu usage" function of the power saver. Does it greatly affect the battery life when the screen is ON? Using max power all the time does affect our SOT?
Thanks for responses in advance. Good day!
Well first thing first... I know if you are running a custom kernel the power saving cpu conserve didn't do anything for me... The kernel runs at its own max speed and everything.
I haven't checked how it affected the stock kernel
I did some tests when I first got it.
The saver limits your CPU at 1.2 GHz. This is the biggest save except the brightness but it doesn't translate into too much battery use. At most you go from let's say 10% per hour of screen time to around 13%.
If you really need the battery I say stick with the extreme version.
Used the power saver at the beginning. The phones battery life wasnt that much better, on the other hand the performance didnt get worse either. I dont believe that it really helps that much, ...
if you don't really like your battery life, you cand consider changing your rom.. some of them have huge improvement in battery life
When I was on stock when I bought the phone used, I tried power saver and it did help battery life a bit but I never measured it. Performance drop was barely noticeable either though. I ended up just using it at night in case it helped deep sleep. Now I'm using VoIP for phone and text so there really is no deep sleep anymore on my phone with that stuff running and data always on, however I still get through a day no matter what rom or settings.
It makes a major difference for me. Most of the time keep it on medium battery saver. Not sure why I have a battery case that can charge the more than device twice. I'm a power user and my house has ****ty signal so it does a number on my battery.
Post your battery life at full charge
24hours 45min, 5hours light, 18hours idle
What is your battery life?
There is a dedicated battery life thread

Ok thanks I've been on accu battery and it says I get 24hous sleep 5hours with light and 18hours idle I thought there was something up with my battery life so I wanted to know other people's benchmarks. 5 hours didn't seem like much to me...
hello
is it bad?
