I9500 Palm motion Sensor problem

The sensor is responsible for the Palm Motion (screenshot capture with hand gesture in front of the sensor) and the "Mute/pause" by covering the sensor, doesn't work for me ... I guess it's sensor problem, but It could be also software problem...
Anyway I'm on S4 I9500 (what they call Octa core) I'm rooted (Cofface root) and my Android version is in attached image.
I'll be happy if you guys can check if it works in your device... just go to:
Settings> My device> motion and gestures, then turn on the "PALM MOTION" toggle...
And if you make a gesture above the screen from right to left or left to right and the device does not take a screenshot, you probably also have this problem ...
I'd be happy if you comment here and update us.
By the way - what is Samsung's secret dial-up codes to check the sensors?
Thank you!
By the way, I found some schematics for the I9500 and I see that the left sensor is a light sensor and not proximity/gesture sensor... but anyway, I've activated all Motion and gestures toggles, but Palm motion still doesn't work!
Quick glance does work perfectly and also other Gestures and auto brightness, so I don't understand why the palm motion doesn't work if it uses the same sensors?

Any ideas?
Just so you know, I had a lot of trouble figuring out how to take a screenshot the "gesture" way and, unlike on the SGS3, it seems the side of your palm needs to be physically touching the screen as you swipe from left to right. At least it does for me!
Hi, 10x for your reply...
I tried all variations, but no luck... :\
And Palm mute/pause doesn't work too...

Palm mute/pause doesn't work for me either. Hardly any of the gesture's work well enough to be useful
hhmmm... this is so weird... I tried it on my friend's S4 and everything works great!
I think this is a software problem, I think I'm gonna download the latest Firmware and flush it via odin and check it again on stock version! maybe something messed up when I rooted my phone, or my stock firmware is not the latest one? (chek my attached image) does your device runs the exact same firmware as mine dose?
10x.:good:
Update!:good:
Ok I think I found the problem, for those who have that same problem, relax, probably the hardware is fine, As I assumed, this is a software problem (specific Build I guess) I dialed #*#0* in the Dialer Aoo and it's launched the device sensors debugger... and there you guys can check if the sensors are fine!
I suggest to check these particular sensors:
1. light sensor
2. proximity sensor
3. gesture sensor > Direction
and there you can verify if it's a software issue or hardware issue...
hope this helps somebody.
cheers!

That number doesn't work for me
Ooops...
My mistake, the right number is: *#0*# (star hashtag 0 star hashtag )
good luck !
Your hand has to physically touch the screen. Then both screen shot and mute work
Sent from my GT-I9505 using xda app-developers app
AIR
Meltus is right. Your palm needs to cover the screen physically in order to work. As for the screen shot, the palm needs to physically swipe the screen

Q> quick glance

i have a i9505 and im having problems with the quick glance feature...
i did all the things i cud come up with like calibrating the gyroscope...enabling all the air gestures...
resting my device on an obviously flat surface...
but still no luck...
it would work but for a brief period of time only..
when i tap on the try it option on the quick glance settings and after the TUT i would lock my screen and it will work just like magic...
but when i unlock the screen and lock it again it wont work...
the sensors on my device is fine bcoz the other air gestures are working perfectly...
can some1 here pass on some tips or solutions?
tnx

[Q] Upside Down Camera & No Screen Rotation

Hi,
Could you guys please help me out for Upside Down Camera & No Screen Rotation in my Grand 2.
After googling for a few hours, I found out the possible solution that I need to calibrate gyroscope but there is no sensitivity settings in motion menu and nowhere else.
Please help me to fix my newly bought Grand 2.

Gravity (or Magnetic) Sensor out of calibration

When I hold my phone vertical (portrait or landscape) to take panorama or photosphere photos it's out of alignment and I have to downward it to the earth to adjust the horizon line to the middle of screen! In another word if I hold my phone in ~80° its sensor behave like it is in 90°. Attached photos shows the problem. I have rooted my device with official 4.4.2. I couldn't find any helpful guide about how to initialize or calibrate accelerometer or G-Sensor. rotating phone in 8 path, rotating around all 3 axises, restarting device didn't help.
Please help me how to solve this issue. I don't want to reset factory device right now. I've access to all system files if needed. Thanks

G530AZ with touch screen/ screen rotation combo issues

The phone model is a Samsung Galaxy Grand Prime G530AZ.
It is on stock 5.1.1 firmware.
Experiencing the problems in a couple different ways. The first instance that I'll mention involves the keyboard while in the stock messaging app.
The area that you press on to bring up the keyboard in order to compose the message is completely unresponsive while the phone is turned vertical with screen in portrait mode .... now, I found out today that if I turn the phone sideways/ horizontally and the screen rotates into landscape mode, then the messaging area becomes responsive and the keyboard pops up just as it should without any problems.
The next instance with the issues that I mention is with playing certain games from the Google play store such as candy crush ... etc.
While the screen is vertical, with the rotation in portrait mode, then the touch screen becomes unresponsive with certain aspects of the game which involves usually, tracing a line with your finger across various Adams on the game screen... Though if the screen is rotated into landscape mode attempting the same action which the touchscreen was previously unresponsive to suddenly works like it should /Touchscreen working normal versus how it was working whilst in landscape mode
I know there's gotta be a fix for this I mean it really does not seem like a hardware is you though i'm not a professional So I'm reaching out to everyone here that might possibly be able to help... If anything at least maybe direct me the right direction for a fix or solution you-know-what I mean ...
Just recently achieved root user access with KingRoot apk ... Though the issues with the touchscreen began long before achieving the root user access so I'm fairly positive that that is not the reason for the problems due to that fact .
Now i've tried looking everywhere online and google search is not returning any where close to the results that I am looking for about this issue...
Any and all assistance/advice would be greatly appreciated!!
Please and thank you for your time ...
