The phone model is a Samsung Galaxy Grand Prime G530AZ.
It is on stock 5.1.1 firmware.
Experiencing the problems in a couple different ways. The first instance that I'll mention involves the keyboard while in the stock messaging app.
The area that you press on to bring up the keyboard in order to compose the message is completely unresponsive while the phone is turned vertical with screen in portrait mode .... now, I found out today that if I turn the phone sideways/ horizontally and the screen rotates into landscape mode, then the messaging area becomes responsive and the keyboard pops up just as it should without any problems.
The next instance with the issues that I mention is with playing certain games from the Google play store such as candy crush ... etc.
While the screen is vertical, with the rotation in portrait mode, then the touch screen becomes unresponsive with certain aspects of the game which involves usually, tracing a line with your finger across various Adams on the game screen... Though if the screen is rotated into landscape mode attempting the same action which the touchscreen was previously unresponsive to suddenly works like it should /Touchscreen working normal versus how it was working whilst in landscape mode
I know there's gotta be a fix for this I mean it really does not seem like a hardware is you though i'm not a professional So I'm reaching out to everyone here that might possibly be able to help... If anything at least maybe direct me the right direction for a fix or solution you-know-what I mean ...
Just recently achieved root user access with KingRoot apk ... Though the issues with the touchscreen began long before achieving the root user access so I'm fairly positive that that is not the reason for the problems due to that fact .
Now i've tried looking everywhere online and google search is not returning any where close to the results that I am looking for about this issue...
Any and all assistance/advice would be greatly appreciated!!
Please and thank you for your time ...

Hello everyone.
I just got my X10 over the weekend and have started to play around with it. One thing I have noticed is that the screen will only rotate to landscape on one side (with the home buttons on the right in landscape mode). I've checked various videos on the net and they all seem to rotate in this direction, but don't show it going the other way. I checked my wife's Iphone and it rotates both ways. Can anyone let me know if this is an issue with the X10 in general, or just my phone. TIA.
Confirmed. the device only rotates on the left side. But i never thought about it before

Is there any reason why this would be a problem? must say I've not come across any occasion where I've thought that would be required.

It only rotates to the left, yeah. But I think it's great since I'm seriously annoyed with screen rotation at times. This way I can lie in my bed and write texts in portrait-mode with my phone on the side so to speak. And I don't want to turn it off completely since I use it when I look at pictures and browse the web. I just wish there was a way to disable screen rotation for different applications.
I believe this is the same for all droid phones. My buds Moto-DROID does the same thing and I do recal only being able to tilt the N1 in the same direction. On the DROID it makes sense to me, the physical keyboard only goes one way. However, my bud is left handed and he instinctively wanted to turn my x10 to the right so the hardware buttons are on the left and he coudltn. He immediately did not like the phone.
Thanks all,
this isn't really a problem for me, I just thought it was strange since I didn't really see a reason for it. This is my first Android phone, so I'm still getting used to the benefits and quirks of the system, and just thought it was odd. Well lets hope that we get an update to 2.1/2.2 or are able to root the heck out of this thing soon.
Cheers
The N1 use to do this too but in 2.2 it gained the ability to be rotated into landscape either way.
I reckon 1 way landscape rotation is the best thing ever... esp. with the reading lying down thing... I used to have to hold my Diamond on a weird 45 degree angle in those situations...
I bet you can think of a million reasons why it's great it only rotates one way, but I bet you'd struggle finding a decent reason why you'd need it to rotate both:
I have a problem and can only rotate my phone clockwise, this means I have to rotate it 270 degrees instead of 90, just to get it into landscape
I prefer to press the camera button with my thumb holding underneath the phone. Now I have to do it with my index finger like a normal person
I'm lefthanded - everything works backwards for me.
Ok so i bought a brand new Nexus S two days ago, the problem is in landscape mode the touchsreen randomly becomes unresponsive for a few seconds or until i change position or turn screen off and then on again or rotate the phone and back.
The wierd thing is it only happens in landscape mode when holding it so the buttons are to the right but if i flip the phone so that its still in landscape but the buttons are to the left it doesn't happen and works flawlessly.
I searched the net and found various touchscreen problems with nexus s, but didnt really find the exact problem. Can anyone tell if its a software issue or a hardware issue?
Also this Nexus S is with Super LCD and not AMOLED
Thanks

I had a similar problem. Happened to me a few times on different custom roms. However, my screen is Super AMOLED. I'm just scared it might be a hardware issue so I'm always ready to unroot my phone and get it back to stock so I can return it for repair.
Butt.... I think that it might be a sofware issue since the touchscreen is only unresponsive until you lock and unlock your device. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that it doesn't happen again for a while. Always gives me a scare :O

Is it running a custom ROM?
I recently got a S4 from a friend. At that moment it did not have a front glass (made an order from Ebay).
Now the first problem I noticed was the rotation problems. When Auto Rotate is on everything goes reverse. Default camera app has everything rotate as well (at all times). Tried to recalibrating but that did no good.
Second problem is that when I use the phone the damn thing at some point goes crazy. Hardly recognizes my finger (draw a line and it will mostly consists of dots). Use my knuckle and I can use it properly.
Can anyone help me? I need to get this thing fixed ASAP
The drawing shows how drawing 4 lines seems like. The only real line is made with my knuckle
And the other is showing my camera rotation problem.
I have a Moto G4 that has had the touch screen become very erratic lately. This issue appeared shortly after a factory reset. The phone is stock, recently OTA updated to NPJ25.93-14.7. It frequently freezes and won't respond to touches of apps or the home/back/recent buttons, and won't side scroll to the next screens properly. Sometimes random apps launch on their own without any touch, and if you try to quit them with the back button they keep relaunching. The problem is intermittent.
I activated "Show Taps" in Developer Options and when the problem is happening there is a tap dot near the lower right side of the screen. It bounces up and down a little bit and vibrates sometimes. When this dot is visible tapping on anything else like app icons or buttons usually has no effect, however the taps are shown on the screen. If I hit the power button to make the screen go black it will sometimes recover when I reopen the display, other times it takes a reboot.
Wondering if it's a hardware issue, a guy at a Verizon store who seemed to know more than most said it was a faulty digitzer--it's seeing touches where there are none. I've replaced displays successfully before, would just like to have a confidence level that the digitzer is really bad before doing that, as opposed to a software or other hardware issue. Any ideas about problems that might cause this problem, like other hardware or a corrupted OTA? Seems very hardware-ish to me, but I'm no expert.
I have Drive links to a couple of short videos on the symptoms, can send links. Much appreciate any insights.
Mine has that issue as well. It will spam the 9 key on the unlock screen or anything in that spot if an app is open or what is on that spot at the home screen. I have to double unlock the phone to fix it. I guess turning the screen on and back off resets it for that session. But it's mostly every time the screen goes dark and comes back up I have to turn the screen off and back on to use the phone.
I had a similar problem and was able to send it in under warranty and get a replacement phone
G4 Digitizer or ghost touch
Apparently this is called Ghost Touch issue, and affects many phones. One solution tried is to disable Battery Optimization for System UI and Google Now Launcher in Settings>Battery>Battery Optimization. That seemed to cure it for a week or so, but the problem returned today. I can sometimes recover form it by hitting the power button to blank the screen and then reopen. Other times it requires a reboot. I see all kinds of alleged solutions out there from dimming the brightness to removing tempered glass protector to using a slow charger, but those don't seem like real fixes but workarounds (if they even work at all). Any other ideas?
Hello,
When I scroll down/left/right in my phone and hold my finger on display, the screen automatically shakes left and right or up and down (depending on how I was scrolling my device). This also occurs while charging and while moving an icon on home-screen. I had this issue previously with Asus Zenfone 3, Samsung Galaxy J7 and a HTC Desire (dont remember the exact model though) and a similar issue with iphone 6 (which was registering that my finger was moving on home button). Is this a software problem or hardware problem and how can I fix this ? I have read on web that many people are facing this issue on various phones. but couldnt find any solution yet. Is this my screen sensitivity/touch/display driver/ battery or something else ? If anyone could suggest something, would be really helpful.
Edit: Exactly the same issue as this https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kxysauxJ5Yk&feature=youtu.be but mine shakes a bit less, still annoys me while playing 8 ball pool and other aiming games like angry birds, etc.
Thanks
There is an app which you can use to test your touch screen by drawing on it. You'll be able to see exactly what it's registering. From what I've seen it happens on a lot of phones with bad digitizers. Try to get a warranty replacement.

Hello,
Sorry for delay. I went to service centre and they said that it is normal because of smooth and silky touch and slight movement of fingers. I explained him that it occurs more while charging and he had to take my phone for inspection.
Here is the correct video : https://youtu.be/PmQ2lra4RXU
My hand didnt have tremors. I agree that human hands are not 100 % stable, however, none of my other phones do it. And if my hand is shaking, then it should shake also while the phone is not charging. When I unplug my device, it stops shaking (almost stops), but when I replug it, it starts to behave weird again when I am holding finger stable. Also, this shaking will move your aim pointer in gaming and it really is annoying while play games with pointer moving.
Is it really normal that your pointer moves while your finger is stable on screen ?
