Hey guys I just finished rooting after wiping data and now that I am back up and running I cannot enable System UI tuner? Is anyone else having this issue? Before I rooted I was able to enable it without issues but now when I hold on the gear icon it does nothing.
Anybody else having issues getting system ui tuner working after root?

hold down the settings gear in the notifications tray. The gear will spin and then when you let go it will enable it and jump to it.
Same issue here.
Make sure you have animations on and reboot after you turn them back on and try again

Hey everyone. I'm currently using the latest version of C-ROM. When my lock screen comes up the status bar or notification drawer is still showing and I am unable to get rid of it. The reason why I want to delete it is because if you click on a recent notification or hit settings it unlocks the phone without a passcode! Anyone else figure this out and have a resolution? Thanks!

Hello,
As you may know, Android 6 has a hidden feature, called System UI Tuner. This can be enabled by long-pressing the Settings icon in the top-right corner of the notifications bar. Once enabled, a new section appears in Settings, called "System UI Tuner". I think Developer mode must be enabled too for this to work, and animations must be on.
But on the S7 Edge, this doesn't seem to work. Tried to long-press that icon, and nothing. Animations are on, developer mode is enabled.
Did anyone succeed in enabling this ?
Thanks !

Really ? How can I remove icons from the status bar, like the Bluetooth icon even when it is enabled, for example, and have more room for notification icons ?

System UI Tuner isn't available on Touchwiz. Samsung removed it. However, I'm guessing most of you upgraded to Android Nougat, but for those of you who haven't should get this app called Good Lock.
Good Lock is an app made by Samsung that actually replaces the System UI on your phone, and will make it almost stock Android. I sure you still won't find System UI Tuner by holding the Settings button, but I sure that there is a setting in the Good Lock Settings menu to do so. My thought is that the Good Lock Settings Menu is their version of System UI Tuner.
You can find Good Lock in the Galaxy Store, but if it is not there for whatever reason, then just sideload it from this link here.
(apkmirror.com/apk/samsung-electronics-co-ltd/good-lock/good-lock-24-0-16-release/good-lock-24-0-16-android-apk-download)
--enter the link without the brackets, xda won't allow me to post links until I have made 10 posts--
I'm not sure if this will work in Nougat, as in the website it said that the minimum version of Android is Marshmallow, and the maximum version of Android is Marshmallow.
If you are willing to take the risk, try it and let us know if it will work.
Hope I helped!
It is pretty much impossible
You can't enable it Samsung and other companies have disabled it in manufacturing
How to enable system UI tuner in Samsung j5 prime
Go here and try it. I did get it working on my s7 edge non rooted but I recently had to do a factory reset and I can't get it to work. https://www.recovery-android.com/tips/access-system-ui-tuner-s7.html
i think this would be a better decision as it wouldnt require a computer.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.zacharee1.systemuituner
simply enable with adb once and you can tweak your phone anywhere without having to use a computer
Is it possible in any way to enable the System UI Tuner in Nougat build, or has Samsung removed this feature? I'm particularly looking for notification power controls as there seems to be no way to disable heads up without also making them silent.
Waiting to know the solution as well
Im annoyed by the WhatsApp heads up notification
Super annoying for sure! Hating 7.0 on AT&T because of this. Still no fix!
There's a new official API in Nougat for this
Check this https://www.xda-developers.com/get-custom-quick-settings-tiles/
Called? I don't see anything that disables peek and doesn't require root.

Sorry, don't understand what you mean by "called"

The "Nougat way" of editing quick settings buttons (actually replacing system UI tuner, which has been phased out) tiles doesn't' require root at all.
To use it under S7 nougat, fully expand quick settings area then, open the three dot menu and press "edit".
There are some 3rd party apps which allows to add custom tiles ("Custom Quick Settings" being one of them), some others apps already support this feature for their own usage.
I confess I don't know what "notification power control" is: I was only replying to the thread subject ("System UI Tuner in Nougat").
But maybe if you give a more detailed explanation of what you're trying to to ("disable peek"), I could help on it too.
"Called" means what is this app called that enables Ui Timer settings, therefore the ability to disable message peek.
Message peak is when you are trying to do something on your phone, but you cannot see your screen because every message that arrives is instantly in your face with the full length of the message for everyone to see. I want notifications to ding and vibrate, but only show an icon on the status bar. Not show my messages to the whole world, nor me when i don't want to see them. The only option in notifications with the Samsung version of 7.0 is everything off, or messages in your face with vibrate and ding. Horrible decision by Samsung.
System UI Tuner has the ability to set notification levels including disabling message previews however Samsung pulled it out in 7.0. The solution is this command and you don't have to be rooted:
adb shell settings put global heads_up_notifications_enabled 0

Works perfectly!
I, I get it: I didn't have all the extra options in system UI tuner in my previous device running Marshmallow (only the "tiles" stuff", this wasn't a Samsung device) thus my mistake on the exact scope of your question.
Dear madfusker,
Did you find a solution to the problem? I just updated my S7 Edge to Nougat 7,0 and now I experience the exact same problem as you. Very annoying.

I don't know how to enable the System UI Tuner, but you can disable "peeking". In Application Info inside Settings > Apps, just below Permissions you will find what you are looking for in 'Apps that can appear on top' under 'Advanced'. It's there for most apps.

I have night mode on my Samsung Galaxy Tab S3 tablet running 7.0
You might want to consider a third party app. I know it's not the elegant way but there is an app that offers you a full System UI Tuner.
https://labs.xda-developers.com/store/app/com.zacharee1.systemuituner
Read carefully etc - you still use a Samsung phone But I use this app on my Galaxy A5 running Stock Nougat TouchWiz and most stuff works.
Hope I could help achieving some good results.
Edit: Use this link from your phone with the xda labs app installed. I don't know whether the link works otherwise!

I've got Galaxy S8 Sm-G950U Nougat 7.0 on Boost Mobile and can't get the SystemUI Tuner to enable by holding down setting gear in notification blind. Did Samsung remove the feature?
My wife has Moto E4 Nougat 7.1.1 on Boost and I enabled it just fine on her phone. I don't see the Night Mode option in her SystemUI Tuner though.
Edit: nvm. They apparently did. For anyone else who wants the features of the SystemUI Tuner and can't enable it,

Hi,
I just tried to long press the gear icon for a long while. Unfortunately the "congratulations" didn't pop up. Has anyone had any success on this?
PS: I'm using the cheaper amazon-ad version.
PS2: The phone is running android 7 nougat
EDIT: HOLY **** I just found the reason why I cannot.
http://forums.androidcentral.com/showthread.php?t=677644&p=5263698&viewfull=1#post5263698
I usually turn the animation from 1x to none, and this makes the difference ...........
Thanks!
It worked for me, I pressed the gear icon at top of quicksettings for 3-5 seconds then a message came up and it appeared in the settings menu after Developer options.

Maybe, I'm using the no-ads $299 Amazon version. Are you able to get the Developer options by tapping build number 7 times? I would think if you can get that then the System UI should also work. Maybe someone else with the ads version could try it?

I already revealed the developer options by clicking build number 7 times. Maybe they removed the UI tuner since the tuner is somehow related to the locking screen ads.
I have amazon ads version and was able to show system UI tuner.
Interesting. There is an "EDIT" option at the bottom which allows me to adjust the tiles, but pressing the GEAR icon doesn't help at all.

Are you running android 7.x or 6.x?
For those who are not able to do this yet. Make sure you do not have the battery saver option active. I deactivated and it worked fine
Trying to access the System UI Tuner through Nova Launcher/Widget/Activities/System UI Demo but the app keeps crashing when I try to access. Anyone else having this issue, find a fix, or find another way to access the System UI Tuner?
Same problem. Would like to know how others are accessing it.
I thought that was just a stock Android thing, no?
Same here with my S10e. I think Samsung is trying to prevent us from removing the icons from the status bar.
If you go to settings and click on the search icon and search for "Status bar information", you can select/deselect items from the list like Time, Date or Battery Power.
However, it does NOTHING even if you deselect all and items like clock still persists in the status bar.
Use this:
NiceLock
https://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s10/themes/app-nicelock-lock-2019-launcher-pie-t3908649
You can hide everything + do much more
Same here, I just want to show seconds on my clock using System UI Tuner but I still cannot access it using S10.
