System UI Tuner Not Working - Samsung Galaxy S10+ Questions & Answers

Trying to access the System UI Tuner through Nova Launcher/Widget/Activities/System UI Demo but the app keeps crashing when I try to access. Anyone else having this issue, find a fix, or find another way to access the System UI Tuner?

Same problem. Would like to know how others are accessing it.

I thought that was just a stock Android thing, no?

Same here with my S10e. I think Samsung is trying to prevent us from removing the icons from the status bar.
If you go to settings and click on the search icon and search for "Status bar information", you can select/deselect items from the list like Time, Date or Battery Power.
However, it does NOTHING even if you deselect all and items like clock still persists in the status bar.

Use this:
NiceLock
https://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s10/themes/app-nicelock-lock-2019-launcher-pie-t3908649
You can hide everything + do much more

Same here, I just want to show seconds on my clock using System UI Tuner but I still cannot access it using S10.

[Q] Remove or hide the clock in the status bar

After searching high and low on Google, I'm unable to find the answer to one question:
How do I remove or hide the system clock in the status bar of my Verizon Galaxy Note 3?
I've already turned off most of the phone's unnecessary bells and whistles, I've deactivated as many unnecessary or unwanted crapware apps as I can, but I can't find a way to perform the simple action of turning the status bar's clock off.
I'm not a rooter, so that isn't an option. I'm hoping that someone can point me towards a well-hidden system setting or a simple app that can get rid of the clock.
Just FYI - I want to get rid of the clock because I don't need it since my Accuweather widget displays the date and time, and I like to keep the status bar as clean as possible. I'm a clean freak when it comes to my computers & devices.
Any suggestions?
If you're not a rooter... you're not a clean freak... :silly:
As much as I'd love to remove every single byte of bloatware and take 100% control over my phone, I don't want to risk being forced to pay full retail for a new device because I bricked the one that I currently own. Therefore, I have to be a "clean freak" within the boundaries and limitations of an out-of-the-box OS installation.
Only way I know of, is with root, xposed framework and wanam xposed.
Well if you use Nova launcher you can completely remove the status bar, or really it's just hidden. However it reappears when going into apps. Here's a pic

How to enable System UI Tuner ?

Hello,
As you may know, Android 6 has a hidden feature, called System UI Tuner. This can be enabled by long-pressing the Settings icon in the top-right corner of the notifications bar. Once enabled, a new section appears in Settings, called "System UI Tuner". I think Developer mode must be enabled too for this to work, and animations must be on.
But on the S7 Edge, this doesn't seem to work. Tried to long-press that icon, and nothing. Animations are on, developer mode is enabled.
Did anyone succeed in enabling this ?
Thanks !

Really ? How can I remove icons from the status bar, like the Bluetooth icon even when it is enabled, for example, and have more room for notification icons ?

System UI Tuner isn't available on Touchwiz. Samsung removed it. However, I'm guessing most of you upgraded to Android Nougat, but for those of you who haven't should get this app called Good Lock.
Good Lock is an app made by Samsung that actually replaces the System UI on your phone, and will make it almost stock Android. I sure you still won't find System UI Tuner by holding the Settings button, but I sure that there is a setting in the Good Lock Settings menu to do so. My thought is that the Good Lock Settings Menu is their version of System UI Tuner.
You can find Good Lock in the Galaxy Store, but if it is not there for whatever reason, then just sideload it from this link here.
(apkmirror.com/apk/samsung-electronics-co-ltd/good-lock/good-lock-24-0-16-release/good-lock-24-0-16-android-apk-download)
--enter the link without the brackets, xda won't allow me to post links until I have made 10 posts--
I'm not sure if this will work in Nougat, as in the website it said that the minimum version of Android is Marshmallow, and the maximum version of Android is Marshmallow.
If you are willing to take the risk, try it and let us know if it will work.
Hope I helped!
It is pretty much impossible
You can't enable it Samsung and other companies have disabled it in manufacturing
How to enable system UI tuner in Samsung j5 prime
Go here and try it. I did get it working on my s7 edge non rooted but I recently had to do a factory reset and I can't get it to work. https://www.recovery-android.com/tips/access-system-ui-tuner-s7.html
i think this would be a better decision as it wouldnt require a computer.

simply enable with adb once and you can tweak your phone anywhere without having to use a computer

How to Access System UI Tuner in EMUI 5.0! (no root)

By default you are unable to access the system UI tuner in emui. With this app (ALL CREDIT TO LEEDROID) you are able to add various shortcuts to your quick settings tiles. One of these is UI tuner, which will bring you to the settings unlike holding the settings cog.
Note that this method is sometimes rather buggy when getting to the menu, and it works best if your settings application is cleared from recent apps.
Just download the app, hit edit in your quick settings, drag the UI tuner to your quick settings and you're set to go.
Don't give up if it won't work on the first press! Clear your recent apps and give it another shot.

I discovered this a while back on the Mate 9, but unfortunately most of the functions don't work so there's really no point to it.
I tested this, but if I'm right, not many of those new settings in System UI tuner work in Honor 8. I did not get Power notification controls to do anything new (no new settings appeared in app notification settings). Similarly turning on Do not disturb mode shortcut seemed to once flash the options in the volume popup, but after that... nothing. The only thing I managed to get to work was to remove icons from status bar.
Or did I do something wrong?

No, you did it correctly. Some of the settings may not work properly due to the EMUI skin. The issues you listed are probably why honor had it hidden in the first place. But there are still some useful settings in there.
There is simpler method to do that https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gm8PEYKrjrw
However SystemUI is very limited, nothing useful to do

How to display seconds & analog clock?

I tried these settings and nothing happened:
Those settings are for the clock app, and they work inside the clock app...
If you want Analog clock in the status bar, it's not possible in stock afaik, maybe some custom roms offer that. You can get seconds in status bars by going in "System UI Tuner", I let you Google it to find how to activate it.
The default clock app as well does have an Analog widget.
I already tried System UI Tuner and it worked... Yes, you are right, it works inside the app:
It would be great if it also worked on the lock screen. Anyway, thanks for your hint.

alarm clock icon next to wifi strength indicator..no idea whats triggering it

thread title is as it says, got an alarm clock icon next to my wifi strength indicator and ZERO clue what triggered it or how to get rid of it.
help?
Open your Notification Panel
Press and hold the Settings Icon for a couple of seconds and then release
You will see a notification acknowledging that System UI Tuner has been added to settings and the settings panel will open
Scroll down and select System UI Tuner
Select Status Bar
Select Alarm
With Alarm now deselected you will see the alarm icon has been removed from the status bar
Do you use Tasker?
Certain apps, such as Tasker, have use scheduling functions that cause the alarm icon to be constantly displayed on newer versions of Android. Tasker has a setting called "Reliable Alarms" that disables this.

no to tasker.
I...THINK I figured it out? I got as far as clearing alexa's cache and that solved the problem. still no clue how to get into the system ui tuner though.
