Oh thanks I will give it a glimpse! I live in Greece of the capital controls, which translates to expensive and out of stock tech stuff
Anyone seen any webshop where the Windows 10 single OS version is still available?
I only find the new Windows 10/Android 5.1 version.
Since I already got a great Android Tablet, the dual OS would just be a waste of space of the still very limited storage.

Thank you for your help, but I was talking about the Teclast x98 Plus, since according to most tests, it got the best battery time of the bunch of similar tablets.
Later I found it in stock in the gearbest EU warehouse.

I can say first impression are better on what I expect... But i have some questions...
1. On Android partition, how can i remove/erase all that Chinese applications?
2. How can i set win10 on English language and remove Chinese apps?
3. On Android version how can i add 2 accounts (2 deferend Gmail users/accounts and each one to be separated from other? I need one account profile for my self and one for my wife.)
4. And last question does mirek190 had any rom that can make that tablet a beast??
Thank you in advance..

I haven't got mine yet, so can't say what works, but...
1. Normal for any device with bloatware would be to root it and uninstall the apps with Titanium or something. Try to find some working root method, check the forums for the X98 plus's siblings, X98 Air, X98 Pro and so. I assume the Android 5.1 image is more or less the same on all of them. So the same root should work on all on them.
2. On techtablets there are some tips and tricks http://techtablets.com/forum/topic/x98-plus-trickstips/ for how to factory reset or reinstall Windows 10 to a clean state.
3. Wouldn't that be a standard thing in Android 5 and up with multiple profiles?
4. Sorry, I can't help you there

hi, i have x98plus only windows
can i add dual boot?
Hey guys
Am very disappointed from my buying
(teclast X98 plus dual boot)
The tablet its too weak with much lags or delays..
Especially on battery that seems to be powerful its still weak..
Today from 62% remaining battery suddenly drop to 35% and after 20mins it get shut down with 0 battery..
Am very disappointed
In one hand i didn't use Windows only android section but its still weak..
Also from tablet are missing apps like a task killer or gapps
I hope mirek190 to give us a rom for PLUS dual boot as he did with PRO dual boot..
Any one else facing that problems??
P. S.
How is possible with 4GB ram to be laggy or apps like SwiftKey keyboard and eBay app to be so slow??
Good news for folks in Europe:

Have things improved for you any?
Generally you shouldnt need a task manager, but it sounds like root would be handy to clear out any bloat/unwanted apps.
Have you installed any battery monitor apps like gsam to see whats sucking the power?
so guys !! thinks didnt went well with battery !! since i bought that tablet .. max battery 4 hours with medium use and screen on 20% ...
last night i tried to figure out what is going on ..
so i removed from tablet
2 user profiles i had (i think wile you are using one of 2 the second one is still active)
i remove all social apps
i installed greenify app and i select all apps (including systems)
i also installed DU battery saver
and nova launcher ..
now am going for a full charge
and i will see tomorrow how things work ..
i will let you know !!
but i want badly to root that device and i dont know how !!
I am playing with this tab about a week now and think to reinstall windows and try mirek190 x98pro rom. Any guesses why should this go wrong? Have someone already tried this out?
Btw, at first day i had a vertical line of bad pixels on the screen. But after full charge and discharge they disappeared o_0.
So as my previous post
After i done what I said above..
I saw some difference on battery life...
(additional i deleted DU battery & DU boost)
So with 100% charged battery
I tested like this
1 h 15 m on YouTube
30m Clash of Clans game
15m random use
In that 2 hours of use battery from 100% dropped to 72%
It's that good?? (before for sure will be at 45-50%)
Secondly any one knows how to root that tablet?
And finally does mirek willing to build a rom compatible with plus dual boot?

Latest Windows tablet model from Onda - V891w.
Trending 8.9 inch design, Full HD screen (perfect resolution for Windows, not too low, but not too high, since Windows doesn't scale very well on higher Retina like resolutions).
Fast Intel Atom Quad core CPU with a very tempting price just around.
Onda V891w - Mod Edit: please do not post commercial links onto xda. Thanks!
Screen 8.9 inch IPS (1920 x 1200px)
CPU Intel Bay Trail Z3735F Quad Core 64Bit 1.83GHz
RAM 2GB
Capacity 32GB + MicroSD up to 128GB
System Windows 8.1
Battery 5000mAh
Size 241x169x8.9mm
I was looking at this at well,
it's like the only 9" windows tablet which i found overall (including non-chinese ones)
and then the specs, with high-res etc and the price, looks a bit too good to be true? its even way cheaper than other ondas.
the back reminds me of my dell venue 8 pro to be fair, but i really like the back there
on banggood it looks like first batch sold out already and they expect a second batch
tinydeal and pandawill still have it from what it looks like?
but i cant really find any experience reports on the net yet (except one russian youtube video, where he just shows it)
I think that resolution is going to make this a very slow device.
Looks great though., like the Dell

what u mean with slow device?
as long as videoplay in that resolution works flawless, browsing and office software aswell, that would be sufficient for me
Bowsing is memory and gpu intensive. And at that reolution I'm guessing you want
to see 1080p contend and use other browser. Forget smoothness at that resolution on an Z3735G.
Just saying. Looks sweet though.

it's a Z3775F (which unfortunately is even a bit slower?)
for me this are just numbers and i have 0 experience with these hardware specs, but if someone says it won't be smooth then i would probably be looking for a different tablet? :/
1080p playback would be the major issue for me btw, i will only browse 1 tab with it, it's not a working machine, it would be for travels or for my couch/bed
Also not working and have 7 tabs open ? lucky number.
It's a Z3735F you mean, right? A Z3775 would be sweet but expensive.
You can always check devices with the same specs for there performance. Lots
of those.. A few at least.. all sluggish. Z3740 would even struggle.

ment it with a lil bit of homour
at first glance this tablet looked perfect, good specs with perfect price, so i was really lookin forward to it
thats the reason i post here, to get some knowledge on things i dont understand (e.g. the intel processors and their performance)
i am obviously thankful for you help !
Just keep your viciousness in tact and you'll do fine.
So i did some research today and tried to look how the CPU is working, couldnt find anything useful there, so i tried finding a tablet/notebook which has the same CPU in it with a screen running same resolution aswell:
http://www.notebookcheck.net/Acer-Aspire-Switch-10-Full-HD-Convertible-Review-Update.129800.0.html
From what i read here, it says basically that it isnt the fastest machine on earth, but that it's still running well and gets the job done?
Obviously not a gaming machine, but don't that 1080 videoplayback or normal surfing can't be done with it

i have the Onda v975w. it has the z3735f cpu and it has a retina display (2,048 x 1,536). it plays 1080p perfectly, it could play 1080p video while web browsing without a hitch although a bit tight on screen space

No, it blows crap out of EVERY ANDROID and iPAD tablet ever made! Intel Bay trail chipset has more power than most budget notobooks from the previous year.
Intel subsides Bay Trail CPUs up to $50 each, just to beet crap out of competition and take market from ARM.
This tablet runs 4k video, it can even encode them and run older games like Counter Strike Source or Call of Duty 4 at playable FPS rate.
Seriously.. z3735f is an low end cpu..
Don't misinform people, sir.

Very nice advice, so why you don't use it more often?
Here is my video with the cheapest and most basic: 8 inch / Intel Atom Z3735G / 1GB RAM / 8GB SSD / Windows 8.1 tablet.
I should
Quick reminder, Z3735f is the most basic. G and D only differ in memory size.

The Z3735G has one 32-bit memory channel, whereas the F has one 64-bit channel. The F has a max memory bandwidth of ~10.6GB/s, the G ~5.3GB/s.
If you have to choice between a F and a G then pick the F.
Yep, that's true. Can't argue with that..
My Onda has Z3735D and eStar Z3735G, but I haven't noticed any real difference. Maybe because both comes with Windows x86 or 32bit is still more than enough for 2GB RAM.
Both scores identical 67FPS in Counter Strike Source stress test.

Hey
What do you guys think about the PiPO W2F 8 inch Tablet Intel Z3735F Quad Core Windows 8.1? I saw it to a nice price at Gearbest. It comes with 2GB RAM and 32GB ROM that seems to be okay for a 8 inch tablet. It also has support for HDMI and OTG which I find very important for a tablet.
Due to Chinese manufacturers, the market of mobile electronic devices overflowed by cheap Windows 8 tablets. Devices of well-known brands cannot compete with the same quality, but lower prices of Chinese products. The famous Hong Kong brand PiPO presented 8-inch Windows tablet PiPO W2F.
The 5MP camera lens and stereo speaker’s grilles are located on the back cover. The Start button and volume lever are on the long side. On the shorter fringe located interface connectors: 3.5 mm audio, microUSB / OTG, miniHDMI, power jack, the microphone hole, slot for TF card and On button.
The screen also impressive. It is based on IPS matrix with resolution 1280x800px. Display supports ten-finger multitouch and reproduces pictures, videos and dynamic games with reasonable quality.
The basis of W2’s hardware is the quad-core Intel Atom Z3735F, made on 22 nm technology process. It clocked at 1.8 GHz and appropriate to Windows.
Video System integrated into processor’s cores and supports high-quality graphics in mid-class games. The RAM reaches 2GB. The tablet can simultaneously perform multiple tasks due to good balance of a hardware. With PiPO W2F users can listen a music, read e-books, work with documents and communicate in chats. The tablet can support all online games, and many other ones, except games, requiring a strong hardware and discrete graphic card.
The internal SSD storage capacity is 32 GB. Volume of memory can be increased by using the TF card. OTG interface allows you to connect a mouse, keyboard, external hard drive and other devices to the tablet. PiPO W2F can be charged from a computer or laptop via USB.
Wide range of Windows 8.1 applications and Office 365 with an annual subscription will make a work with PiPO W2F more comfortable and efficient.
PiPO W2F has FM-receiver, and all necessary sensors. The tablet can play high quality music and video.
With HDMI interface, the tablet turns to a video player by connecting it to a TV or home theater. Wireless technologies are implemented in the tablet via Wi-Fi 802.11 b / g / n and Bluetooth modules. The device has no GPS, because it is a feature of W line of PiPO gadgets.
The battery capacity of 4500 mAh ensures continuous operation of the device up to 9 hours in active mode, or two days in standby mode.
PiPO W2F – the device with good performance, which is runs on the latest Windows 8.1 system with an annual subscription to Office 365. It seems to be a best buy at the market.

Teclast X80h is the answer. Drop all the other chinese brands apart from Teclast. In Russia Teclast is by far the most popular one. Imagine why.
Post #1 also now updated with a video of the PiPO W2F, so far it is running good, I also own the Voyo Winpad A1 Mini, but the W2F is thinner and for some reason actually better to hold in the hand.

Hi! I am very interested in buying the Pipo W2F but I have some questions,
Have you found a good case for it? because I'm not able to find anyone.
What tablet do you prefer? Do you recommend it? (Voyo, teclast, Honda...)
Are you happy with this tablet?
Could you take some photos with both cameras?
And the last question, would you wait to Cherry Trail? (new Intel processor)
Thanks a lot!

I have not found a case for it sorry. I like this PiPO very much and happy with it, but the Voyo is also good (but higher priced).
To be honest, the camera is nothing special, only ok for a little Skype etc. don't expect too much from cameras in tablets.
I would not wait for the Cherry Trail, because there will always come something new, and then you can wait forever.
I've been thinking of buying Pipo w2 because the processor is better.... Thanks for your answer.
Because the USB of W2 is 3.0 and PiPo W2F USB port is 2.0.

Most of the drivers will be downloaded automatically from Windows Update, or are included in Windows.
You charge it from the USB port, it is fast enough even if you use it.

ROOT
no idea about root for android yet. will update if i find some info about that, go look at post #22
credits go to @gecko16300 for finding this
"I think I found a way to root the tablet !
I’ve found it here : http://www.tablette-chinoise.net/forum/chuwi-vi10-t7085 (which is from http://forum.xda-developers.com/andr...p-cwm-t2975096)
– Install adb / fastboot drivers for the tablet
– Enable USB debugging
– Download SuperSU (http://download.chainfire.eu/supersu)
– Download IntelAndroid-FBRL (https://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=95897840722644693)
– Copy UPDATE-SuperSU-vX.Xx.zip to the tablet
– Uncompress IntelAndroid-FBRL on your computer
– Launch “launcher.bat” from IntelAndroid-FBRL folder
– Type “ACCEPT”
– Check if device status and device information are OK, then type “T3″
– The tablet should reboot in fastboot mode, and after another auto-reboot, CWM recovery should show up
– Flash UPDATE-SuperSU-vX.Xx.zip
– Reboot !"

Remove android and merge with windows partitions
found on techtablet.com and with the post of @roguealcatraz post #140
roguealcatraz said:
Hi all,
I just want to share that i found a way to resize partition in Windows. Personally i don't have reason to keep my android in my Chuwi Vi10, so i decide to delete Android partition and merging the unused disk space for Windows system without reinstalling whole operating system. i thought it was easy at first, but then it is not as easy as it should be.
I will describe step by step, but firstly what you need is to download EASEUS Partition Master 10.5 first. This program have more abilities than Windows built-in disk management. Trial version won't work, so here is a link to download it :
Chuwi Partition Tools
You must learn how to use EASEUS, because any changes you want to make (such as deleting, merging, creating partition) is NOT performed real time. First you choose what you want to do with a partition, and click 'Apply' button in the left top toolbar, otherwise the changes will not be made. Now please make sure you click that button in every step.
From windows, press 'Windows+R', type compmgmt.msc and Enter. At the left handside, click Disk Management. You will now see many partition. Please pay attention to EFI system partition and Recovery (OEM). STRICTLY DO NOT TOUCH THIS TWO important partition. This contain your EFI bios and recovery image of Windows in case you screwed up your system.
Now after you notice that two important partition, DELETE all RAW partition, EXCEPT those aforementioned EFI and Recovery OEM partition (Warning!!! This step will lose ability to use Android in Vi10). These RAW partition is consist of several small 16,32,64 MB, one 7 GB and two 1GB partition. After deleting it, you will have a 9.2 GB un-allocated space now.
CREATE new NTFS partition from aforementioned un-allocated space, the result should be around 9.2 GB. Click 'Apply'
The new partition will be positioned in the left of Windows partition (C:\), with a small 128 MB partition in between them. Restart your computer now.
DELETE that small 128MB partition and CREATE new NTFS partition from unallocated space. Do not click Apply yet, we will apply step 4-6 all at once.
MERGE the 128 MB and 9.2 GB in order to make a new partition which located side by side with the Windows system partition. You will now have a new 9.3 GB NTFS continuous partition.
Merge the 9.3 GB to Windows partition. ALL operations in step 4-6 will be executed all at once by EASEUS, and since these operation involving pre-boot formatting things, it will be done not in Windows, but after POST (Chuwi Chinese writing logo) and just before log into Windows. This required multiple reboots so please make sure your battery is above 75%
The final result will be like this:
Disclaimer: This method works for me. I will not be responsible for any data loss, corruption, damage, world war or apocalypse caused by said method. Always backup your important data before doing this. Even better if you can view this method in different PC so you can concentrate in re-partitioning your tablet.

Hi!
Thanks for your review
I have also bought the chuwi vi10 at aliexpress on the 18th may. Waiting to receive it, I'm looking for info about how to root it. It seems that kingo root could work with this processor...
@jugo00 noproblem
i thought it would be nice to have a thread about this tablet.
can't wait to have it in my hands. ) i have a 8" voyo a1 but it's just like nah its plastic and i don't know didn't like it maybe i will like it again with touchscreen lol. (broke my touchscreen by standing on it so ordered a new one it should come around the same time as the chuwi vi10)
the chuwi looks very nice in design and materials glass on both sides. etc. + android and 2 usb ports that made me buy it and the faster z3736F cpu.

Kingo root or vroot should work fine, I'll be testing this on mine soon and will share the results.
@reggiexp $149 lucky! If I knew they were gong to have a sale I would have waited. I paid $176 usd and then 38 euros in taxes to get it a bit earlier for review. Ouch!
Hi!
I have bought this tablet the 1st may, also by aliexpress, and I received it yesterday.
It looks good, nice finishing. It comes with an adapter for EU Plug.
Actually, I just downloaded french translation and updates for Win8, no software installed (just an Android game to try : Terra Battle).
Win 8 looks clear of third party applications (except InsydeQ2S, that seems to be the dualOS system), but on Android there are some Chinese applications that crash sometimes and I would like to know if I can uninstall them ? I can post screenshot if you want.
Put a TF card is not really easy as it need to be deep inserted before mechanism lock it... but my 64Go TF Card is recognized by Win8 but not by Android (default exFAT), I need to try other FS, unless you know what it need ?
I can't help you for the root, but if you want to try something, just tell me and I will do my best.
Tonight, I plan to try some benchmark like Antutu...
I'm not really fluent in English, so I'm sorry for the mistakes
@Hendrickson hahahah you toke DHL? i learned my lesson no dhl for me. did it with my voyo a1. payed 17euro for shipping. +18 euro douane. + 12 euro again for dhl (10euro that they pay the douane in advance + 2euro for the file sh!t)
never again. i learned my lesson. yep 133euro im happy. still waiting for aliexpress to ship the tablet
okay good luck. hope it works
@ShadyGuard ow cool yeah got a response that it will include a eu adaptor after 10 times of asking...
me i can't help you with the format of sd i have no idea normally i saw in videos that you can uninstall apps on android the chinese apps. ahaha de parler francais c'est mieux mais faut faire l'effort ici de parler anglais.
after all updates how much space you have left internal? just curious.
Hi, 10.5GB free in Windows and Android 6.5GB free so not the best, much better with a 64GB eMMC. I haven't installed any Windows updates. Disabled that, I always do on 32GB tablets because it eats up the free space. You could loose another 2GB easy!
I only shipped it out via DHL to get the tablet a bit earlier for review purposes for my site otherwise I would have opted for the slow boat out of China.. In Spain I have to pay 21% tax and then 15 euros to DHL for their rip off customsk fee. , it's criminal!
I have the Windows drivers dumped here if anyone is thinking of doing a clean install: http://techtablets.com/chuwi-vi10/downloads/
As for rooting the tablet, no luck. Both Vroot and Kingo root fail and even a root tool box for bay trail tablets doesn't work. I'm lost as to how to root it and don't want to spend to much time trying to get root. 160 DPI on the screen makes it look blurry, a better DPI should be used here for sure.
@Hendrickson
Okay thanks. Yeah thats realy not much space, yeah still 64gb tablets are rare. Or expensive
Yeah dhl are assh0les, sure you have your package in 7-9days sure but there still crap for asking money for no real reason.
You are the dude that reviews the vi10 on tech tablet? Very nice reviews you make. Very good channel. Could you make a starcraft 2 video In a arcade game.? I know it playes but i Tryed it of a external drive via usb hub and otg on my voyo a1.
Damn no root yet. Hope some one will come with a solution.
Sure, I'll see if I can try Starcraft 2, just need to download it first. I don't think it will run it to well to be honest. Yes those are my videos, they are part of the review process I do for these tablets.
I'll have to use an external drive due to the 15GB install size being over the available free space on the tablet.

Okay man very good reviews. For the core m tablets and surface always nice to know what the chipset is capable of.
I think i will buy a sd card 64gb Kingston 80write 90read speed. 32euro. It is the fastest i found for a good pricr
But yeah if you could try it. That will be great. (i know heroes of storm doesn't work. 2gb ram is not enough for it, i tryied with a home pc with a good gpu and dualcore cpu it lagged like hell, even if they say you need 2gb ram minimum, its isn't enough.) starcraft should play on low. If it will good i dont know. Problèm with external is that speeds are not always fast.
Fast microsd cards aren't needed unless you have another PC that can take advantage of that speed. All these tablets microsd cards slots max out at 21-23mb/s read and write speeds.

Okay thanks good to know so a simple 20mb/s write and 40mb/s read sd card is all i need. Higher speed won't work?
Hum did you try faster sd cards in chinees tablets? Ones that have more than 40mb/s? Or has the sd card slot same speeds as the usb 2.0 ports?
All 20mb? That sucks. Tought sd card had faster working speeds.

Yep, I think it's normal, try formatting the card in FAT32, or format it directly with Android, Windows should recognize it.

Anyone tried 128Gb cards ?
@gecko16300
yuppp i hope hendrickson could make a sd card speed test on the chuwi vi10.
i did try a 128gb sandisk in my voyo a1 once? but just to check if it was real, didn't save the speed somewhere...
@reggiexp Sorry but I have installed some apps... so I try to calculate the free space after updates without this apps, it's about 7.95Go/14.3Go
@gecko16300 Yes, I format it directly with Android, it's FAT32...
@ShadyGuard don't worry, just curious. someone else already give me a answer . 8gb free after updates?
i know on my moms danew dualboot android 4.2 and windows there was not much left. and now after all the updates it's like 1gb. really bad. but i think i will need clean up the hdd.
@reggiexp Yes, 8gb free after updates.

No idea, Play works for me and so does the official keyboard I just got. Not sure what else you could try? Ask your reseller what they recommend or get a refund and swap it for one that works?
Nice keyboard by the way, it's a step up from the Pipo W1/W3/W3F keyboards.
Now i would like to share Chuwi VI8 Plus tablet pc review with you. This is the windows 10 OS tablet pc, which be the other version of Chuwi VI8 dual boot model. Chuwi VI8 Plus is built in Type C port to be the nice version for most users. Chuwi Tablet PC has made big progress in the past few years. It has provided us not only the nice and affordable price, but also the ultra wonderful performance.

Chuwi VI8 plus highlights overview:
Operating system:*Windows10 OS
Display:*8 Inch*IPS*1280*800, 10 Points Capacitive touch screen
CPU:*Intel Cherry Trail X5 Z8300 Quad Core 1.84GHz CPU
Storage:*2GB DDR3 RAM + 32GB eMMC ROM, T-Flash 64GB max
Dual cameras:*Front 2.0MP + Rear 2.0MP
Functions:*Support Bluetooth 4.0/OTG/HDMI/WiFi/Type-C
Build & Quality:
Chuwi VI8 Plus is made of plastic material, it has USB Type C port, the demension has 211.2mm length, 123.2 width and 9.3mm height, it weigh 350g which is easy to handle and take or bring. It has HDMI and Type C port which has much progress than that of Chuwi VI8 tablet pc.
It has 8inch 1280 *800 screen display and support 10 points capacitive touch screen. To some degree, the screen size is reasonable for a convenient tablet pc. And the screen resolution also gives us the nice video playing or games playing. I don't have to buy a ipad mini to spend much money with low performance. This Chuwi VI8 plus can gives us that ipad which will not provide. And Chuwi VI8 plus has supported Windows 10 OS , which is the latest OS like a real PC.You can treat this tablet pc like a computer to do office work, and personal recreation.
Therefore, i am so satisfied with this Chuwi VI8 Plus with this kind of design and quality. BTW, the screen also responses so quickly.
CPU and Internal storage:
Chuwi VI8 plus this time is powered by Intel Cherry Trail X5 Z8300 Quad Core 1.84GHz CPU and 2GB DDR3 RAM + 32GB eMMC ROM, and it can be expandable to 64GB by TF card. As you know Cherry Trail X5 is the lastest chipset of Intel company. and the performance will be compared with a computer. Altought it just has Quad core processor, when you paly games , you can feel the outstanding power than those dual core tablet PC. So you don't have to worry about the playing speed. And it has RAM 2GB and ROM 32GB which can support download many apps as i want. Of course, i just download the useful apps. I am afraid it will run slowly. Meanwhile, if you think the storage is not enough for you to use, you can add the tf card to expand the storage to 64GB. i bet it will be defintely large enough to use.
Dual cameras:*
Chuwi vi8 plus has improved the dual camera with front 2.0mp and Rear 2.0mp camera, due to the last tablet Chuiw VI8 with only 0.2mp front camera, this time Chuwi VI8 plus has 2.0mp front camera with can be used well in facing time or video chat. Of course i can also take selfies by it. And the back camera 2.0 mp also let me take some vivid pictures, although it can't be matched the smartphone with 13MP camera.
Battery Life:
With only a 4000 mAh battery inside is it enough? Using Battery Bar Pro, your looking around 5-6hours hours of normal web, video and doc use depending on what your doing and screen brightness of course. Personally I would have liked an hour or so more here, but it seems size or most likely cost constraints came into play in terms of battery capacity. But overall it’s good for an 8 inch Windows tablet.
Final Thought:
I am so satisfied with Chuwi VI8 Plus right now, i spend less and get a windows 10 OS tablet pc to support USB Type C charging. It also has HDMI port which is the one of most features i like. Of course , i don't know if you like the 8 inch screen size. So how do you feel about it?
Great specs for the price. I would like a bigger battery, but 4000mAh are enough. And what about connectivity? Does it have an HDMI? Also, are there any other versions such as dual boot (Android+Windows) as the Chuwi Vi8 or does it come just with Windows?

yeah, it supports HDMI port, and Onda V820w CH has similar specs at Chuwi VI8 Plus. you can compare them and make the choice. It supports Windows 10 OS and Android os, too. Any other idea ?
I have a Chuwi Wi10, and it's amazing if you unistall Android. I have installed Win10 and run flawlessly. Vi8 plus won't be the exception.

How can I backup the Windows 10 rom? Is there an Android rom available? (I'm not looking for dual boot)
You can see in TechTablets.
Hello guys,
Have any of you tried this tablet for reading?
I am looking for a cheap tablet to use as an e-reader. This one seems to have a high-quality display on paper, but is it really good, does it strain your eyes?
Also could anybody tell if there is any difference between Chuwi and other similar Chinese brands that you can find on geekbuy or gearbest, like Onda or Techlast?
not good for reading in my opinion
the screen is too dark for me and becomes darker after about 140° viewing angle
windows 10 is not my way by many aspects. Anyway.
Is there a possibility to flash an android system on Chuwi vi8 plus?
In Techtablets you can find info about that.

Maybe I will have to go for the more expensive MI Pad 2. It's screen seems way better, and aspect ratio 4:3 is more suitable for reading.
I have recently got my first android HU, its to go in my 2010 Audi S3.. it's this one ...
eBay item number:173701634590
I've got it wired up on my test bench to a PSU ,i've set up a launcher how I like it, set up waze navigation, spotify, and apple music (as well as torque for the widgets).
I'm reluctant to put it in my car, even though it's far more capable than my factory unit, its sooo slow! Boot time is like 10+ seconds, then once booted each app takes ~10 seconds to open on their first run, and apple music is always very slow even once opened. So I will be half way down the road before I have navigation or music working properly.
After about a minute of running once everything is in RAM, its not so bad, fairly snappy apart from Apple music.
It's just not up to the job if you ask me, and I would happily pay 3 times the price for one that is as its capabilities are brilliant, just not performance.
It's a quad core with 2GB RAM and 16gb Storage. They recently released a new version (after I ordered mine) with 8 cores 2gb RAM and 32gb storage, is it going to be much better ? it needs to be at least 4 times faster to make it usable when I jump in the car.
I wonder if I could utilise the display and housing and have a high end flagship smart phone (say my samsung note 8 I m abut to replace for example) connected to that LCD and touchscreen and amplifier etc, its not something I could do myself but if possible I would be happy to pay a professional, the system would be very fast then would it not? however things line canbus talking etc would need to be reverse engineered and made to work.
Or I wonder if I could use the internals of the very newest Joying unit (4gb RAM) inside the chassis of mine an that would be suitable. Or could I possibly upgrade the internal storage to something much faster (and/or bigger).
Another thought on top of all of this is why does it need to shut down at all, why can't it just power off its amplifiers and sleep like a tablet would, a tablet has the apps still in RAM when you come back to use it next time. Can we perhaps work out a way to modify it to do this? I need to open it and see if the amp is a seperate circuit which can be relayed from the ACC on its own, and then put in something along the lines of an Anker power bank to run the rest of the unit in sleep mode when the ignition is off. Any thoughts on the possibilities of this ?
Other than performance I have 2 other complaints ... The bluetooth app for using hands free is ugly and clunky, it hogs the screen during a call, cant even minimise it to go back to navigation, is there a better one, ideally one that integrates with the rest of the system better. Or is there an API I can use to build one... or documentation for accessing the hardware I can use to build one ?
DAB was similar but DAB-z seems much better.
Also I seem to have Access Touch permanently enabled on so I have a n annoying floating button constantly, there is no settings option to turn it off like you would expect under display or accessibility or something.
Any feedback / input / collaboration appreciated, after all if we find ways to improve things it helps us all.

2GB Ram and Android 8.1 combination, there lays the performance problem. Android 7 runs smoother on 2 Gb units.
I would suggest flashing it with Hal9k_mod Rom's and using microG framework !

Thanks I will get onto that.
I would prefer better hardware though .. do you know of any with 4gb+ ram and a good processor that is the same form factor as mine ?
Thanks.
It's not the 2GB memory. 2GB is more than sufficient for Android 8.x (although 4GB is better). If you use large games or the (akward) facebook, you need more memory. For a car unit 2GB is good. I have 2GB and I did actual memory tests: I never had an issue.
It is the too old T3 processor that is the performance issue. That one is very slow. You should have looked to faster processors like the Alwinner T8 or Rockchip PX5. or the new PX6 or Intel Airmont.
Edit: Never take an android 7 unit. All these units are either running on the old Alwinner T3 or the old Rockchip PX3 (RK3188) or the old MediaTek cpu (forgot the type).
Thanks for the input, I seem very limited in my form factor, can you find one with a better CPU and if possible more RAM?
I would like to use apple music which is RAM hungry, but I've uninstalled it for now. Spotify is doing OK, just lacks some content.
Can I transplant another unit into my chassis for better reprformance perhaps?

https://www.eonon.com/Car-Type/Audi.html
and more if you search
Thanks for that but the only reason I've finally gone android is becaue they now make one which is pretty much all screen for my car finally! , the fake audi nav looking ones look and feel awful (seen them in friends cars) and the universal double din are OK but hey use a cascading sea of crap plastic adapters to make then fit.
This one I have is the only one that fits well in the car and doesnt look out of place amongst the quality interior. I've been on the look out for about 2 years (the mk5/Mk6 golf ones always impressed me).
I guess I just have to wait until they release one in this same form factor with a decent CPU, it will probably come eventually!
Dont want to seem ungrateful for your help though. Thanks
Is the CPU in this one any good?
Ebay item.. 303046069027
It's the same as mine but xtrons with more storage and 8 core CPU.

You should post a link (or mention which ebay you use. ebay.de or ebay.ca or ebay.whatever. Every country version uses its own item no.'s )
This item number is totally useless. Same from your first post.
I
It's ebay UK
As a junior forum member I can't post Links yet.
I was a member here back in the days of the Pocket PC devices, and used this forum when android was in its infancy. But I don't have my account details so had to start agian.
Thanks for letting me know the item numbers arent International.
I agree links are always better . . . . but being curious, I tried that eBay number on UK, US & NL sites. eBay finds the same item on all three sites.

Really?
I did search with the number 303046069027 and the one from the first post on ebay.nl, ebay.com and ebay.de and can't find them, whereas I do find them on the ebay.co.uk.
Hence my conclusion.
