Switch oneplus one to Motorola x play - X Play Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi friends, i have oneplus one but i Find offer im 284 € Motorola moto x play.
Do you recomend switch from oneplus one, battery, performance is better????
Camera i Know, lcd i Know
Enviado desde mi A0001 mediante Tapatalk

I have OPO, Zenfone 2 and Moto X Play...
I recoment you to keep your OPO...
1) Performance on OPO is MUCH better!
2) Camera is nearly the same...dont let you sway from Megapixels...
3) Battery is a little better on X Play but remeber 1) !

I swapped from OPO
prefer the Moto
Battery much better for me. Like... Hours better screen on. And turbo charging. Camera nicer, screen was great on OPO anyway but this is just as good.
Go for it.

I agree with all those points but beware youll probably notice a serious downgrade in performance.

Really?
Less perfomance than OPO?
And OPT?
Enviado desde mi A0001 mediante Tapatalk

Really!
Nobody knows what Android 6 will bring but for now i would stick with the OPO....
And for the OPT...snapdragon 810 gets Overheated and throttles badly .... So you get a fast phone... For a few minutes!
But Winter is around the courner so maybe a pocket heater is not so bad

The Snapdragon 801 is more powerful than the 615
801 was high end, 615 is mid range
I don't notice much of a difference but although being a heavy user, I never play games only watch video and browse, social media etc a lot.
Sold my OPO and got my X Play for only 100GBP

And the change is better or worse?
3g navigation, wifi navigation?
I m not player, but i talk very much all days, and WhatsApp, Tapatalk,....
Enviado desde mi A0001 mediante Tapatalk

I had both the OPO and the Moto X Play. I'm using my phone just for Browsing, Waze, WhatsApp, Gmail, Agenda and calling (quite basic usage). About games, I have just Piano Tiles installed and it is absolutely flawless. I got rid of my OPO because of the touchscreen issues all the people had and I do not regret ever since.
The Moto does not have any issues, no throttling or lags that bothered me. Don't know about benchmarks but I don't really care about them. The biggest argument is really the battery life. 6h SOT is common on stock rom, i will root it and Greenify some apps so hoping to get 8 or 10h easily.

Difference b/w Turbo 1 & 2

When comparing the Turbo 2 to the original, is this a fair statement: the only significant difference is that you gain a shatter proof display + double the cores - 140 mAh of battery capacity? Is there anything I'm missing?
Honestly, I would have been over-the-moon if they left the phone exactly the same except for an upgrade to 4200-4500 mAh. Does/did anyone else run low on battery towards the end of a heavy day with their original Turbo? And if so, will the extra processing power translate to the feeling an upgraded phone knowing that battery life isn't going to improve?
Don't get me wrong, I'm not trying to complain about Motorola... after all, I feel like they "get it" far better than any other manufacturer out there. Just wondering if anyone else is kinda bummed out about the Turbo 2, or maybe has something to say that gets me excited again like when I first found out about the original Turbo...
Sent from my XT1254 using Tapatalk
Plus bigger screen (not just shatter proof) and SD card...
Sent from my XT1585 using Tapatalk
And a better design and build quality/ materials in my opinion (plus Moto maker if you're into that)
Also a huge improvement in camera (tied in #3 with the Nexus 6p according to Dxomark )
Louder speaker. Still only. Mono though.
Micro sd.
Shatterproof.
Overall an incremental improvement.
About the battery, I think we get too focused on specs... My turbo 2 has lasted me close to 6 hours of SOT. Same as my original turbo. The 810 is more efficient than the 805 I guess... And with doze on Marshmallow it should greatly. Improve.
it hit all the areas that were lacking. So yeah IMO a good improvement.
I felt the same way, honestly, but after reading reviews and hearing what DT2 users have to say I may consider getting this when I get my upgrade. I've had my original Turbo for just about a year now and I really love it. It's the first time I've had a phone for a year and didn't want to rush into an early upgrade. I'd honestly be content with my Turbo for another year.
Sent from my Droid Turbo using XDA
Here's my take, after having both phones:
The screen is better, has better white balance and slightly brighter. Battery is definitely longer lasting than DT1 (even though spec-wise it's smaller). Speakers are much louder and crisper sounding. Camera is much sharper, better white balance and the lens is better because corners are not as blurry as DT1. There is MicroSD slot. Front has 5mp with Flash. Screen has a user-replaceable top layer so when you decide to sell 1-2 years from now you can replace your scratched up screen with brand new layer from moto for $29 turning it into almost new phone. Overall design - much stronger casing, no more cracking noise when squeezing the phone. Charging is 13hrs in 15 mins vs 8hrs in 15mins, using 25W charger vs 15W. I had both phones side by side for several days. DT2 is basically better in every single aspect I can think of.
Is the Droid Turbo 2, Moto X Force in my case (i live in europe), worth upgrading from the Nexus 5 (2013)?
Enviat des del meu Nexus 5 usant Tapatalk
I think you'd definitely be happy with the Force (which essentially is the Droid Turbo 2, yes) because it has everything everyone just mentioned plus its nearly stock Android.

And is it way better or considerably better than the Nexus 5 (2013), i mean is it worth the upgrade?
Enviat des del meu Nexus 5 usant Tapatalk
Yes. I mean, the only draw back is waiting for 6.0 which hopefully won't take long like it did for the first Turbo (in the US the first Turbo didn't get Lollipop until July)
Sent from my Droid Turbo using XDA
I wish the DT1 had a bigger battery lol
Mainly since I like to crank the brightness and run tons of apps at once, but honestly on standby, 3900 mAh is more than enough.
I'm pretty excited about the DT2. Looks promising, but the white front one is horiible, it exposes all the sensors.

I think the white version is ugly as hell.

Which is a better smartphone OP2 or Moto X Style?

Hey friends I would like to know which smartphone is better compared to battery life, camera, updates and over all performance and why?,
If you plan on unlocking the bootloader, but want to keep the factory warranty get the OPT. If you don't care about the warranty or you don't plan on unlocking the bootloader, then get the Moto X Style. I personally have the OPT, but that was just because of my great experience with the OPO. I was rather disappointed though. If I could do it all over again, I would have gotten the Nexus 6P or the Moto X Style.
I've been having some random freezing on my OPT. Mainly when pulling down the notification drawer. Pretty annoying to me, especially when my OPO still runs like a dream! OxygenOS isn't mature enough to be a widely used daily driver yet IMO.

Okay.. Well lemme ask you something. If we unlock the bootloader in Moto X and then if we lock it back, don't you think we can get the warranty...? Something like we usually do in old days.

I wouldn't count on that solution. You might could consider getting something like a 3rd party accidental warranty. That should keep it covered even if you unlock the bootloader.

They're both very good. Pretty much interchangeable. After owning the op2 for about 5 months now I can't express enough how terribly I want a moto x. I've had quite a few problems with this phone, if you don't plan on rooting than the moto x is the easy winner

I got one more phone which I really looking forward - LG G4
Had the Moto X Style before and like the OPT more.
I have OPT. I rooted it, installed a bunch of xposed modules and whatnot. Never had any significant problems with it. Performance (antutu score is way better than Moto X) and battery life are great (GSam reports 5:45 SOT). Also consider the fact that a 64GB Moto X costs at least $100 more than OPT. There only two factors where Moto X excels: quick charging and screen resolution.

Screen resolution is debatable, less battery, less performance and working on adreno 418... That's a choice, not a pro, personally i love that Oneplus 2 has a FullHD display and not a QHD, i could bought LG G4, Moto x pure, or whatever 500uds or less. I decided Oneplus 2 and im very happy with my decisión. Thanks god i didnt belive the overheating rumors, they are exagerated, my nexus 5 got hotter.

I was between the same devices. My decisión was LG G4 or Oneplus 2. Moto X it was my third choice.
I choose the op2 because of this:
-Full HD screen : more battery and less GPU demanding
-SoC: 810 vs 808. That means ram lpddr4 vs lpddr3, adreno 418 (qHD) vs adreno 430 (FHD).
About heating, because of the rumors oneplus throttle the devices too fast, if you edited the thermal file with boeffla kernel you could have awesome performance, for more info about throttle pm me.
-Fingerprint scanner.
-XDA community, not too much for no but it will grow up. Oneplus is contacting devs from XDA, that must be a good thing.
-Capacitive buttons, so it does not take space from the screen
-Alert slider is useful, but lg g4 volume buttons are very nice too.
-4gb vs 3gb, its not a real life difference but maybe it will be.
EDIT:- Better battery life. 3300mah vs 3000mah, also fhd vs qhd must make a difference.
About nfc, for almost 2 years i never use it on my nexus 5, so its not a problem for me.
Hope you can decide for the best, come with us :fingers-crossed:

I heard a lot about it
Me too, I've been wavering between OP2 and X Style for 1 month, view all youtube videos about those phones, borrow my friends'
Then OP2 was my final decision, and I don't regret about it
There's no better phones over others, just this phone is suitable for you than the others
In details:
OP2 vs X Style
Screen: FullHD 5.5" is enough
RAM: 4GB vs 3GB
CPU: 810 v2.1 vs 808
Storage: 64GB is enough for me, but X Style has an expandable slot
VGA: Adreno 430 vs Adreno 418
Sensors: Fingerprint scanner, doubletap2wake, Gyroscope.. I don't need Moto Voice or Moto Ambient Display
Battery: 3300 mAh vs 3000 mAh
This is just my humble opinions about OP2's strength, of course there're lots of pros of X Style that maybe suitable for you, for example NFC, quick charging, slightly better camera, durable brand name Motorola,...
I'm a fanboy of Motorola, but sorry Moto, my decision this time is OP2 =)
And the decision was...?

Better than Moto X Pure

Hey guys, I'm a Verizon customer and my 2 requirements in a phone are unlockable bootloader and sd card support. Since my options are scarce (CDMA compatibility) I've been using a 64GB Moto X Pure since they launched last year. I recently stumbled across the Moto G4 Plus and noticed that it fits my criteria for a smart phone.
Does anyone who owns a G4 Plus also own a MXP? They seem to be about the same size. The MXP has a better camera and screen resolution while the G4+ has a octa core processor. I'd much appreciate anyone's feedback who owns both phones. How do they compare in normal/heavy use, not just on paper?
Source - http://www.phonearena.com/phones/co...la-Moto-X-Pure-Edition-2015/phones/10053,9694
The Moto X Pure is much better in almost every way.
G4 Plus has a better camera, especially in low light situations. Fingerprint reader is super fast and I use it every day.
And the model with 64GB storage /4GB RAM is fast enough for every need. Who cares what a benchmark say? Nobody uses a benchmark daily...
Screen resolution? 520 ppi vs 401 ppi? Who cares, in order to see that you need to burry your face into the display or, if you are over 40yrs, you need two pairs of glasses to see that density!
PS: That comparison link is wrong, because that's not the US version of G4 Plus, it has the wrong LTE bands!
I ordered one off eBay that someone had lost the IMEI from flashing the wrong rom. Obviously I didn't pay full price. I'm hoping I can flash a stock rom and fix it.
If anyone has a link to the best restore file it would be appreciated. I tried to download from File Factory last night but after an hour or so the download failed. It's a US Moto G4 Plus 64GB.
Or if anyone else has tips about restoring the IMEI that would be great.

Nevermind. The @$$hole had been on XDA every day since he sold me the phone and supposedly shipped it to me. I checked the tracking # yesterday and USPS had never received it. I sent him a message about it. He first replied that he was shipping it tomorrow (today), then immediately replied that his son dropped and busted.
Why sell something on eBay if you're not sure that you want to sell it yet?

Btw you should get better battery life on the g4 because of Smaller resolution and same battery. If I recall the mxp also has 3k mah. The CPU should also use less energy, not sure on that.
Overall, you're downgrading, especially camera. I like the g4 plus even on 2gb memory. It's smooth and decent battery life. Fingerprint is fast. You don't really have a choice imo. You may even opt for the regular g4 imo. Not much difference outside camera.

Good information. Thanks.
I currently have the moto g4 play (Verizon version)
and I'm thinking about getting the Moto X Pure or the Moto G4 for the bigger display and hd calling. I have read that both phones have a problem with overheating. (The Qualcomm snapdragon 808 and 617 processors are known for overheating issues). I would lean toward the Moto G4 but it seems the overheating issue is a bigger problem with the G4 than the Moto X pure.
What are your thoughts on the overheating issues?

Oh okay. Thanks.
I really like the moto g4 play and feel I would like the moto g4(don't want the plus 'cause I don't need or use a fingerprint sensor and there's not that many upgrades that
justify me getting the plus over the regular g4).
My concern is that I play a lot of music videos on my phone and when I tested a Moto X Pure in store,
the phone got hot after watching a music video on YouTube for only about two or three minutes, so I was like okay don't think I want to mess with that.
I'm thinking it might be the same or worse with the moto g4.
I don't want a fire trap for a phone.
May try the moto g4 and if I do experience constant overheating I'll simply return it.
I personally think it's a mix between:
Better camera, fingerprint sensor (and a good one), & battery life with the g4 plus
vs
Better performance (both cpu and gpu, especially gpu and overall performance) & maybe the fact there is more community support since it's been out for a while, for the x pure.
Can't be asked about the heat problems that some users are having with either, I ran antutu benchmark on both g4 plus and x pure and none got hot to the point where you couldn't hold it or have it feel like it was burning you. US variants of course.

Moto X Style Very Poor SoT

I know there are a lot of threads about the poor battery life on the Moto X Style my case is a bit extreme, My SoT doesn't extend beyond 2 hours and I am considerably a heavy user but I have cut down on most apps and I use those on my Moto Z which is like my second phone, I use that at home but for college I use this Moto X Style and I have to charge it twice daily with apps like Facebook Instagram Messenger WhatsApp one or two arcade games that's it. What could I do to extend my SoT? i don't want to root my phone till I am receiving software updates. I bought this phone in January 16. There are no performance hickups either. I have disabled apps that i don't need too.

Yeah... Battery life is bad... Stay on WiFi as much as possible. Social media, especially with less than excellent signal will kill the battery on this device. I get anywhere from 2-3.5 hours on a single charge with mixed WiFi and mobile data.
I don't know how but last two security updates made it worse. i used to get around 2.5-3.5 hours but recently it's hardly 2-2.5 hours with mixed 4g and wifi mostly wifi though
Uninstalling Facebook and Facebook messenger would be good for increasing battery life.

Personally I think it's either the same (in some ways) or a step backwards going to the new G5. Price wise you can get either phone for pretty much the same price; hence my question between the two phones. I actually thought they'd use a snappy 810 as the processor in the G5 Plus

Moto G5 Plus is a great device... as far as a downgrade, that's personal opinion of what matters to you. The screen is a downgrade from QHD to fullHD and NFC is lost, but you gain Fingerprint unlock, battery life is increased 50%-100% for SOT, and the SD625 will walk all over the SD808 in terms of performance, both computational and GPU performance. Other than the display itself and the loss of NFC, the G5+ is probably a superior device in my opinion.
Jessooca said:
I was talking to a reviewer friend of mine and he said he was fairly disappointed in the camera quality though.
Superior device? Perhaps you're being generous with the word Superior. Lol

As I said... All depends on what you want.
G4+ vs G5+ boils mostly down to screen size, build quality, and battery life. G5+ has a smaller screen, but is slimmer, it also has a more efficient processor thus uses less power, but they both use the same 3000mAh battery, this gives the G5+ about a 20% battery life improvement over the G4+. The G5+ also has a metal build and seems of better quality. Camera is a wash quality wise, but reviewers state the G5+ starts up and focuses faster. The G5+ also has a faster processor and GPU.
Winner in my book, the G5+, but realize to me screen size, once it gets over 5" or 1920x1080 resolution, means nothing to me.
I do find it odd on the G5+ Lenovo opted for a smaller display... But 5.2 to 5.5 is not really significant.
Jessooca said:
Well if you get a chance, put one in each hand and your mind will change, the skinnier G5 just feels odd and looks meh. It's like holding a Blu R1 HD.
Ok there is a debate going on about the best for under $299 with many saying the Moto G5 Plus is the best bang for your buck but how can that be when the Honor 8 is $260 on Amazon and if you've used it it's hands down a perfect device under $300

Well, where do I start with this... I have touched all these devices and more. I like the metal feel, better than plastic, again this is just personal preference. The build quality seems noticably better. I thrown them in a case regardless.
I was only making a comparison between those 2 devices, not considering other options or manufacturer's. Personally, the Honor series has great hardware, but EMUI ruins the device completely, especially with how much under the hood crap Huawei has done to prevent you from changing the launcher, seriously, is it that bad to swap a launcher? But if you can deal with the bloat of EMUI or Asus's ZenUI, they are great options in that price range, personally I think the UX ruins the devices from these makers.
Personally, I like the Axon 7 Mini at the $200 price point (BestBuy and others frequently discount it to that price, my son has one, it's great). Plus there is the Blu Vivo 5R, with 3GB RAM, 32GB storage, dual SIM, and an unlocked bootloader with nearly pure Android is nice at $169 (MicroCenter current price, the website doesn't say 5R but that is what's in the store). Or even the $129 Blu Studio XR2 is a fantastic deal.
At the $300 price point, things get interesting... The Blu Pure XR is fantastic, plus they have a few more good devices in that $200-$300 range. Don't count out Blu, the last couple years, especially the last year, they have really stepped up there game.
Pushing that, I'm big fan of the OnePlus 3T but it's pushing a bit out of price range for even high-end budget device.
Yeah... I've been looking... A lot.

My thoughts about Le Eco Le Max2

Today I've sold this wonderful piece of unsupported hardware.
It's really sad considering the fact that the phone is very well made but plagued by a very weak battery (~4-5 hours of SOT with only Wi-Fi enabled, brightness set to ~30% and very little CPU usage) and practically no official support. I could have overlooked all these issues but this phone's idle battery discharge rate is simply unacceptable - over 0.5% per hour with pretty much everything turned off except a radio module (meaning texts and calls). Also this phone's camera is another letdown: 21MP of blurriness and very bad low light performance. Open source ROMs don't solve this phone issues however add a whole more.
I need to mention that I absolutely love this phone's screen, performance, audio (CDLA + audio effects are top notch), speaker but now I'm considering other options with timely updates and better battery life. They might be more expensive but nowadays you buy a full package and not just a telephone which cannot work without being charged every few hours. I already have a dumb phone which works beautifully and have an exceptional battery life.
I'm choosing between ZTE Axon 7, Xiaomi Mi 5 and LG G5 (which is sold at $250 at the moment) - all three are well supported, however only the latter sports a decent camera, though it's no match for SGS 8 or LG V20 (the top two performers in the world of smartphones at the moment).
if can play continually 4-5 hours of SOT with only Wi-Fi enabled, sounds a great bettery life for me.
you have something blocks sleep ....
Do a full reset , not install anything and turn off wifi and don't touch it. I am sure it will run for days.
It won't run for days and I've already tried four different ROMs, RR, LOS, stock Indian (19s) and Chinese (23s), all flashed after wiping everything, with similar results. And I've already run various apps to assess the idle discharge rate - it's not caused by rogue apps waking up my device, it's the phone's issue.
5 hours of SOT is poor by any definition. SGS 8 can browse the web up to 12 hours or play videos for up to 16 hours with just a slightly better battery.
Mi5s camera is better than iPhone and Galaxy S7 Edge. Support is good too.
Anyway, nothing beat 2k 5.7". With QC3.0, battery life is not a problem.
I think you didn't use the good rom, battery discharge when phone standby you said is unheard of to me ( I use stock mod rom by Tora33). Battery is plenty for me and it's good never discharge when phone is on standby. Maybe some Nougat rom about battery life when it discharge like you said. You can tweak it if it drain too much, I did set Cpu for battery on Nougat roms I tried and it was last very long time. Consider it got 5.7" I think the 3100 mAh battery doing the job very well.
The thing I don't like is it's too big and heavy like a brick, I like more compact phone with less weight.

I get reliable 4-5 hours SOT over about a 12 hour period with 50% brightness using a combination of wifi & LTE data. It isn't great, but it isn't terrible either. I hear similar reports from Pixel XL users, so I think it's OK from a bargain price device which has plenty of other good things going for it, and it charges very fast so I can easily top up anyway. The camera is OK for me too. I get very good results a lot of the time. I rarely use it in low light, and unless you buy an expensive flagship like a Galaxy S, Note, Pixel etc you won't get good low light anyway. Video is meh, but that's not a priority for me.
While I agree to some extent with the op, I'm definitely satisfied with this phone. I had to make some compromises, coming from a g4, then a v10 I was used to great cameras, micro SD and headphone jack. But the trade off was worth it, the screen is great, performance is top notch, even the cdla headphones are great(I had my doubts about this). The bang for buck you get with this phone is incredible, and as for support, the dev community has embraced this phone so we have plenty of roms. I could have gone with a g5 or v20 instead of this phone, but the g5 was too small and the v20 too pricey.

The camera is definitely not bad. Not sure why the hate.

It's not that it's bad, but when comparing it to other devices (in my case the G4 and v10) it just doesn't stand a chance. The sensor has potential, but le eco needs to add better manual controls to unleash the camera's true potential.

To OP. Happy for you, you sold the phone, so bye bye...
By the way, compare a 180 vs 600 dollars phone, great!

Sarcasm aside, for a 180 phone dollar phone, this baby can give most flagships a run for their money!

Not to dissed V10 which is great for wide-angle. I see no point comparing small sensor camera because it's kinda crappy when the light falls. I am happy enough with what x820 can do.
About the blur focus, I haven't encounter any. Have you have blur focus camera before?

not sure what you mean with blur focus. I know sensors are small, but you can still get some decent night shots with the right tweaks on manual mode.

I also don't understand the blur focus. I pick it up from this forum. Got people complain about it for Le Max 2. So far, my Le Max 2 focusing is as expected.

Try Open Camera if you need manual control.

Same here. I'll admit that the FP sensor is a sore disappointment, as is the lack of continued software support.....
But:
- We got 99% working custom ROMs on it
- It's $270.
Seriously. $270 - do you expect an Axon 7 for 50% of its price? If you wanna see a phone holocaust, check out the BLU Pure XL. My philosophy has always been that if you can buy two or 3 of something for the cost of the high end thing, it's probably worth trying. On the whole, if the FP sensor worked and the ROM was stock, I'd say it's pretty close to the perfect phone. Maybe tack on a slightly better cam and a 3.5mm jack, and I'd be peachy keen.
Gotta be realistic though. It's a phone on a steep discount that actually has some quality to it. Even EUI, beyond the Chinese ROM garbage, is decent, if alternative. Who knows. Maybe one day I'll summon the strength to cash out for a V30 or something, but until that point I think that this phone will be quite sufficient. It's also liberating upgrade wise, because honestly, I kind of like that I could upgrade after a year and I wouldn't cry no tears over it.
