Hello every happy note owner... I am planning to buy a new smartphone.. i have two smartphone in my mind.. 1) note 4 or 2) note 5.
I saw a thread about the zerolemon for the note 4 10000mah and 500gb sd card.. For me is the battery important.. does the note 5 have good battery or would you buy note 4 with the zerolemon? i need honest opinion.. And does the note 4 can handle every app and game fluid? i love heavy games.. Modern combat and nfs no limit and so on.. Thx in advance

Get the Note 4. Note 5 is junk.
Sent from my SM-N900 using Tapatalk
I had the option to choose either, but I chose Note 4. It has removable back and SD Card which makes it a real Note. You can say the camera on the Note 5 is %30 better. I already have NFS No Limits, and going through tabs in game is laggy, but I think it is the game's problem, because the gameplay (when racing) has %0 lags. There are also Note 5 ports if you are willing to ROOT it.
I am really happy with it.
In my opinion the note 5 is a fashion tool much more expensive, no ext sd card, no removable battery, but very pretty a few better things than the note 4 but not much. The Note 4, removable battery, ext sd card, ir blaster and has a professional look, performance is excelent on the note 4 and if for you battery is the most import, get the note 4 and buy a zerolemon thing. This is my personal opinion!

The Note 5 has the better hardware no question about that, you just have to ask yourself if better performance is worth giving up a swappable battery and external sd-slot for? Personally I would pick the Note 5 over the Note 4 at this point as it is bound to get Marshmellow faster.
Look at this and make your own decision. It all depends on your personal preference

Fact is that note 4 does support.. sd card.. Removable battery.. ir blaser.. These 3 things are very important to me.. my question was that if the note 5 is really faster alot. I am talking about real life performance and not stupid antutu benchmarks. thx for everyone who replied to help me out

The Note 5 is the newer phone, so naturally it's faster. BUT, we are basically at a point where the performance in flagships is a none issue in real life. The Note 4 does not lag as does the Note 5. I have yet to find a game which the N4 under clocked to 1496 Mhz won't handle.
Plus the development for N4 is quiet a bit further, so you are able to get overclockable kernels, CM, MIUI and all the N5 Software Features. For me Battery and SD are not that important and i chose the N4 none the less. I like to let devices mature a bit concerning Development. That way you get all the fixes from devs for things Sammy screwed up :good:

Note 5 is junk, why must remove IR blaser in note 5?
For me Removable battery and IR blaser is very important and isn't important benchmarks for me when Note 4 is fast enough.

Note 4 still the best for me
Well i dont use my phone for 2-3 years but i always buy a phone that i "could" use for that long ...after all i am spending heck lot of money on it recently i had the option to buy a note 5 or 4...i went for note 4 because of 1)REMOVEABLE BATTERY it does not have a built in expiry date like note 5 or galaxy s6...and its not easy to replace the battery on these phones 2) SD CARD i suggest you go for a NOTE 4 its called Android King for a reason !

Nexus 5 released a day back and the specs are not that bad if we see. Now this has given rise to a hunger of having an official google product in me. I use my note 2 like crazy and love it too but I want to see how it feels having a nexus device.
Storage is one thing that still makes me think of retaining my Note 2. I dont use SPen much either. Nexus 5 looks strong on paper and its tempting me. Is it advisable to sell my Note 2 off and get a Nexus 5?
I am in same situation but specs are really a boost from note 2 but major flaws of nexus 5 are storage and battery life....though I really want to see the display comparison....is the nexus 5 display better than note 2's...I know its 1080p compared to 720p but I really saw some 1080p display looking worse than 720p's like xperia z1....
I will wait for some reviews and then will decide is it worth to upgrade..
The Nexus 5 compared to Note 2 , looks like cheep, plastic, smaller and non Spen device.
Next Move will bring us to Note 4.
And the answer is no way to abandon my Note 2.
Performance on the Nexus 5 will be superior. That Snapdragon 800 screams.
The main issue is battery life. A petty 2300mha battery for a 5 inch 1080p display... It's going to suck.
Screen is slightly smaller with more pixels. But it won't be as jumping with colors as it's an LCD type screen vs our AMOLED screens which pop with colors.
The performance will be much better on the Nexus 5. Better processor. Same RAM. Better GPU. More FREE ram at boot.
Now, if I didn't have the Note 2 and I were to buy a new device, I'd get the Nexus 5. But I think the Note 2 is superior FOR MY USAGE. The SPen helps a lot, and the extra screen is great. The screen is plenty packed with pixels for my usage, too. The 2GB ram is great. In fact, the Note 3 having 3GB isn't an upgrade as you have LESS FREE RAM AT BOOT than the Note 2! WTF Samsung! haha. Anyways, RAM is taken care of by the Android OS. But Samsung takes up too much ram to begin with.
With Nexus devices you won't have that issue, as there is nothing at boot extra. It's only Android processes. So it should run much more smoothly. My Note 2 does stutter or lag a little every once in a while, but it doesn't bother me in the slightest.
I don't know... Battery life on both devices are different. Smaller with updated processors vs bigger battery with less efficient display & processor? I don't know... Wait for some battery tests? Regardless, I've never killed my Note 2 in 18 hours except for my vacation days where I'm on a bus or train for 5-6 hours then I get it down a nice amount.
i was also thinking into a change to a nexus but the battery definitely make me consider having my note a year more. i bought the note for screen and battery and mexus doesn't win at any. moreover i dt know any game yet that doesn't run smoothly in the note and the screen difference is not that noticeable since my cousin has a 1080p screen and mine seems to be better also for him.
my 2 cents

of course Nexus 5. Note 2 will get its last update with Android 4.3 Jelly Bean. But you will have many updates with Nexus 5. If you are not a traveller person, don't think about battery life. Buy 32 gb model and live your days good.

Non removable battery (instant deal killer right there for me), small and non expandable storage (32GB vs the 80GB total on my Note II), small display (even smaller than its 5" since part of that space is taken up by the virtual buttons), no S-Pen, no Samsung SW features like MultiWindow = for a poweruser they don't even play in the same league.
Samsung is doing something very stupid with the Region Lock and something less stupid but that is pissing powerusers and geeks off with the Knox warranty status but the (sad) truth is that the Note III is the ONLY smartphone out there today which I would replace my Note II with. ANYTHING else is INFERIOR to my Note II.
I gass you have very big hands to use note 3 like phone lol
Ive got note 2 yesterday and one nexus 4
Sorry but that clean android isnt for me. I prefer samsung and htc devices....not nexus

I`d go with nexus 5..coming from note 2 user!!

Well, If I were to buy a new phone and the Playstore sold hardware in my country, I'd seriously consider the Nexus 5.
But as an upgrade to Note 2? No way. Sure, it will run circles around the Note in the performance department... but I find that for my use, the Note's performance is sufficient (even though it lags now and then). Even for games, the lower res mens that pretty much everything runs smooth so far. And the lower res doesn't really bother me, as I find the screen of the Note 2 absolutely fantastic... better then that of HTC One, IMVHO. Xperias just can't compare. Sure some text zoomed out can be a tad sharper on 1080p, but otherwise the screen on the Note 2 is just gorgeous.
The S-Pen is usefull... especially for extending menus while browsing the web. That's one unique functionality that only a handfull of phones has and means that some webpages can only be browsed with these devices. Other tricks like video or gallery highlight thumbs are neat as well. And it's good for Excel editing too, especially during a meeting (otherwise it's quite difficult in a zoomed out view - only view in which you actually see a reasonable amount of data).
Storage? For me 16+64 GB is barely enough. Actually scratch that, 16GB internal is definately NOT enough (a bit more than 10 GB available...). I hope an update can allow me to use the external memory for apps. My memory card is almost full as well. So 32 GB altogether? No thanks (even with less bloat).
Battery? It's decent on the Note 2, but I wouldn't call it a stellar performer. So here we have a battery that's smaller by almost a third? And not removable too? I'll pass, thank you.
Plus, does the Nexus 5 even have the USB OTG capability? I remember there were some issues with the earlier models. I like to output video via MHL... love connecting an external USB drive or additional memory card via a card reader and it can be nice to connect external controllers via USB. Is Nexus 5 able to do this all?
Other stuff, primarily Multiwindow and Popup Browser are neat also. Hopefully even Pen Window will be possible on the Note 2.

Think of it this way. Only for a few minor hardware boosts and a new Launcher would you really want to upgrade ?
Note 2 still stands as a power house when compared. And if you like the idea of talking to your phone start using Google Now the experience will be no diff.
On the other thoughts I would love to upgrade to Moto X if ever get an opportunity

Oh God! I think it makes no sense at all! Galaxy Note II is a pretty much older device which can still be compared to other TOP devices. Plus, the Note II has got touchwiz, and lots of Samsung applications which are pretty usefule. Nexus devices are a little too poor to me. I think that if you want to try out a Nexus device, you should try the Nexus 7 2013! I think that rocks. Got such a cool display, so incredibly fast and pure Google style. Plus: updates and other Nexus stuff.
Hello, I'm upgrading soon and would like to know if anyone has experiences with both the Note 2 and S4. I know the spec differences and I'm leaning towards the Note. I would just like opinions of people the have used both. Thanks
Edit: sorry, needs to be moved to q&a section.

get the S4, so much better than the Note 2, it's faster, better camera, more pocketable, more pixels, better screen, higher ppi, better software, longer battery life and so on.
The only thing Note 2 has is the stylus.
S4 is definitely a better option while doing a direct comparison. Since the price is almost same for both the phones its a pretty valid question.
The are 2 departments in which note 2 excels:
1. Considerably Huge battery
2. Spen with handwriting recognition and a bunch of other features.
So decide accordingly. If u can live without these 2 features go for S4 without hesitating.

Used to be a S4 owner but i sold it to buy Note 2 and i don't regret.
S4 over Note 2
- better display quality but not a huge difference , our eyes cannot make such a big difference between their ppi's.
- better camera , here you can see the differences.
- newer software ( but honestly i still prefer android 4.3 instead of 4.4 )
Note 2 over S4
- way much better battery , around 6+ hours of screen on with 1h games + 1h talk + 80% of the day wi-fi on
- better gaming , since the display it's bigger
- nicer design
This is my opinion,i hope it will be helpful for you.
Thanks for the input everyone! I went ahead and pulled the trigger on the Note II. I went with my gut on the Infuse and that was a great phone, now I'm going with my gut again on the Note.

Go with Galaxy S4
Seriously? Please add some context. Both phones are good but they're meant for different people. Well, sort of.
S4 is a more "mainstream" phone. A phone nobody will have problem using. A phone that is "compact" and has all the features necessary and more. It is meant to act as a phone suitable for everybody.
Note 2,different story. Bigger screen, stylus and note taking apps etc. Do the math. Note is basically a phone originally meant to replace paper and pencil. Of course it's much more than that. In fact most of us buy it because it has bigger screen. Also it's kind of less "mainstream" if you ask me. Want to differ from the crowd? Lol just joking.
I got Note not because I have particularly large hands but I still enjoy a big screen and like taking notes etc and act all cool by using the stylus. Joking again, I find the stylus rather useful.
So there you go, pick your side. Note(pun not intented) that S4 Is one generation ahead(year older), but the under-the-hood differences aren't too notable if you ask me. Personally I love big screens. Makes power usage easy and fun. Sure the big screen can be a disadvantage sometimes, can't argue with that.

Hello
I have a question which i would like your oppinion
I have a note 3 using a galaxy note 10.1 2014 edition. My note 3 is used for about 30min hotspot, 2h30 screen on, 1h call duration , many hangouts messages and a 14h Bluetooth connection to galaxy gear.
This is my usage every day. I've ended with about 50%of battery.
However, i feel i didnt need such a big device because I have a big tablet too. And after 4 weeks I didnt get tottaly used to the big size of note 3.
Do you think if i trade for a s4 o would do regret? Do you think the battery life of the s4 it would be enough for no usage, using a my connection to the gear?
Many many thanks for your oppinion

I just got my on2 two days ago. And before that i was using oneplus one and i don't feel like this was a big upgrade that i hoped it would be . Sure performance is a bit better, and there's fingerprint sensor etc which i probably don't use much.
I've always hated the Samsung touchwiz and I've always stuck to the pure stock smartphones n4, htc one m8 GPE, Oneplus one, now oneplus two but now i wanna try something different. I can't afford a note 5 at the moment but i can buy a note 4.
So will it be a downgrade if i move from on2 to note 4 ?
Can note 4 compete with on2 in terms of performance(not the benchmarks... Real life usage) even after flashing kernels, roms etc?

Note 4 (on the latest 5.1.1 firmware) is pretty lag free.....but it wont be as good as stock android. On the other hand you get S-pen and better battery life !!
I would have said... Flash any stable cm rom on note 4 and you'll have all you want... But unfortunately for us.... We don't have great cm roms. They are extremely buggy. I think nexus p is what you should get.
I have used a lot of smartphones Android (Samsung, Sony, LG, HTC, Huawei & Motorola), Windows Phone (520, 920, 720 & 830) & iPhone (5s & 6s).
{ I trading in smartphones }
I believe that using Note 4 is special experience, after years of using so many smartphones I kept Note 4 with me (Stock Rom).
Note 4 provide best user experience for Android with great s-pen.

I was thinking about getting OP2 also after OPO few days ago. But went with brand new Note 4 Exynos model, flashed Ditto N5 Rom right away.. it flies, no lag whatsoever. I would get Note 4 over Note 5 any day. Display and camera are amazing, way better than the OP2.
Forget the better battery life on exynos hardware (note 4 n910c) - it will give you around 4 hrs SOT. If you use encryption - even less (and you will suffer horrible lags). I like s-pen but as soon apple advertise it on their devices I'll switch to this platform as it is better optimized and just works better.

Tbh its not that hard of a quest, im sure the majority will prefer the note 4 such as i, the note 5 has taken away expandable storage and the rf blaster but is given a performance boost with a newer processor.
So imo id stick with the note 4 as it is a much more diverse device, samsung dropped the ball on both the note 5 and obviously the note 7, here is what you do though, use your note 4 and install a note 7 port and it will feel brand spanking new, i have aurora 4.1 and i am absolutely loving my note 4 performance and battery wise.
In terms of processing power, yes the Note 5 is better than any of the Note 4 variants. But in terms of flexibility for everyday use the Note 4 is better as it has a microSDCard slot.
