Hi. i hope every single Note owner and user here either would have just flashed to the latest official ics rom by now or would be thinking of flashing to this rom.
well i accept that i am not a tech master. but as i love to tinker with these tech gadgets alot and i keep on changing my roms just to check
here is just a minor addition to those who are somewhat COMPLETLY unaware of the flashing or are afraid to flash to this official rom especially after that article where it was advised not to flash the Leaked ICS Roms.
well i had the Chrack ROM v18 the GB rom and i downloaded this official rom. i thought to just flash to this official rom the XXLPY and i just did that. but what happened was i was stuck at the samsung logo. i got so tensed i thought my phone might have been bricked or something. (the actual reason was i was SUPER HYPER and SUPER EXCITED about the official ICS )
i then quickly flashed my phone again to XXKL3 stock gingerbread rom. the same issue remained. i was again stuck at the boot animation. i was again so worried
i then thought to check the recovery mode. i did that and that worked and God i was So relieved i cant tell u guys
then i just flashed the XXLPY simply using the odin and it was flashed in no time with no issues!
so here are my suggestion to those who want to flash this official rom:
1- if u currently have custom gingerbread rom, u BETTER first flash to stock ROM!
2- DONT panic like me while flashing is going on! it WILL take some time!
3- wipe the dalvik cache and u will be good to go!
4- it would be better to do a factory reset after the flashing is done.
i know almost everyone here would be knowing that all already but as i already said the reason of this post is not for the experts here! its for those who get confused and panic a lot while deciding or during the flashing! i hope moderators would let my thread stay here for the newbies

You could have just wiped and I bet you would have been out of the boot loop
If you hard brick, you won't even see the Samsung logo (ASK CHASMODO AS HE MUST BE HERE TOO SOMEWHERE ). As long as the logo is seen there is nothing to worry about.
curious.....was your first two 'flash' attempts via recovery or via odin?
I just flashed Alba coming from Stunner with no problems.....
Yeah all you needed to do was wipe in recovery after flashing

If you want to upgrade without rooting its fairly simple.
Assuming you have a STOCK ROM -
Just connect to PC Odin and Flash the update. Nothing else to be done.
Nothing at all.
The confusion starts the moment you want to update with root intact.

the first two attempts were using odin. i always flash stock roms using odin. i dont know if there is a method of flashing stock roms using recovery or whatever. and i am not that experienced like some of the guys like here but assuming i am a finance and accounts related person, i guess what i know about flashing and stuff like that is more than enough for me.... lol
I really need some help here..
I don't want to have to send my phone to Samsung..
Anyways my Note 3 SM-900V is hard bricked.
I tried to do a firmware update (I know..)
Needless to say it won't power on.
Any way to recover this? I am very computer savy minus running terminals in linux...
Did you try pulling the battery, waiting a few minutes and replacing it?

I'm interested in the processes you went through to actually hard brick it. Odin? Because I did several failed firmware updates and was still ok - it would boot up with a screen saying that I had to do a software repair on it. But yours isn't even booting?
Would need a little more info to offer any kind of help or suggestions. What update were you trying to install and what method were you using. Also what android versiin were you running prior to the brick.

Galaxy Gear Rooted Null Rom
Suck It Nerds!
So far ive gained root, and made the first custom rom for the galaxy core prime, ill be compiling a custom recovery for this device when i get my linux PC buil environment set up again.
for ANYONE who wants to root use kingroot(not kingoroot)
exactly like superSU but seeing as CF autoroot/framaroot/towleroot dont support this device it will have to do until i release a root method for this device with superSU.
So here goes
ROOT - kingroot(not kingoroot)
RECOVERY - coming soon
CUSTOM ROM - revolutionary core prime(coming soon)
Thank you!!!
Have a core prime and always wanted to check out the Custom ROMs that came out. It's a SD410 so it shouldn't be as hard as if it were an Exynos (I know it is not easy anyways, but at least the Snapdragon makes it a bit easier).
Will read this thread and see what you make!
Thanks and good luck
Me
I would be glad to use custom recovery too ! Thanks

hi for what model of core prime?
I would like a custom rom for the Prime Core also
I have been searching for a recovery and rom. I rooted a while ago with kingroot and now I have trouble with recognizing the charger input. (Same charging issue with nextbook nx7 on diff charger). rebooting usually remedies this. I fear kingroot corrupted my kernel. I would love to replace it with a prerooted kernel.
Btw I'm using the s820c variant galaxy core prime from straight talk. It has the Snapdragon 410 as well.
Sm-g361h??
Does it work for the sm-g361h model??

theres no pre-rooted kernel, i can release an insecure ADBD one if you like that will have to be applied by dd method but that defeats the purpose

yes the root works for all, once i get a working recovery ill make a few recovveries for other variants if i even need to then we will have the wiespread oftions of roms, only thing i lack ATM is a working 64bit linux PC
Thanks for the quick reply Ricky. still looking forward to your finished recovery as well as the rom. Is it cm based, aosp based? This is big news! there is very little support for this phone. good luck in your work.
appreciate your brave work son, for what variation of the phone you gonna make it?

im not a big fan of CM based roms, id rather build a rom from software built for that device and only for it then build from a source that is universal with reduced capabillities
Let me know if I can help. I got root with odin 3.10 but as we are all aware, there aren't many (if any) recoveries and custom roms.

Twrp works to boot into recovery, though I have no idea whether or not flashing a custom rom will brick it. If you want to send me the one you made I can try mounting and see what happens.

hey mate woul you be able to link me to the recovery you are using? and what device is it built for? the way we can check this is make a full backup in recovery then extract the backup andd see if it has backed up the right partitions, if it has we need to check if its the right format, im sure i read a while ago TWRP backs up with tar and just mounts all partitions and wipes the needed partitions recursively, if that is true we wont have to worry about the format but we will do our research an get this successfully up an running
I didnt actually get twrp installed just the app though I'm js u can still boot into recovery with it. Sorry for the mis lead. I am working on the kernel that shiny side posted up. I'll let u know when I get w it

Just switched to metropcs and got myself a SM-G530T1. I have searched for an hour for a working root to this rom... with no success. I also discovered there is no ODIN flashable firmware available for download.
I am aware there is a method that works by ODIN flashing the firmware of T-Mobile SM-G530T [AOF8] and then rooting with ShinySides [AOF8] kernal... but doing this removes some native functionality and adds t-mobile bloat ware.
So I am looking for either a working Temp root or Perm root for the SM-G530T1 [AOH9], Android 5.1.1, Baseband: G530T1UVU1AOH9.
And then I will be working on creating a ODIN flashable backup firmware of this version for others. Just need help with step one.. rooting.

so i bought this phone about 3 months ago (SM-G530T1) and i bricked it 3 days after i bought it by installing busybox un-rooted. still not sure how that happened but that is not the point, the point is i flashed the only stock firmware i could find (at the time) and it just so happened to be a mis-marked T-mobile firmware package. i didn't let it bother me though and continued to gain root and flashed ShinySides [AOF8]. It worked like a charm! I was just running T-mobile FW on a MetroPCS phone and it just got confusing if you have to call costomer service lol. so i made sure it worked in every way and removed all the bloatware. the only problem i had was with the hotspot feature, it had a mind of its own and that got annoying but i dont really use it that often so i could live with that. the phone was a champ! so i went to find a recovery or twrp. i was looking and found TWRP 2.8.7.0...it was not for the SM-G530T1 but it sorta worked and when i say sorta i mean it does pretty much everything you want it to do except BACK UP FILES! Lol! (at least for me anyways) so i ran that with the T-Mobile software for a few months until lastnight... see I didnt know about the failure to back up my files issue so you have to understand that i fully expected the TWRP Backup files to work and last night when i went to restore one of the BUps it informed me that i had no OS anymore !! oh man i wanted to puke! Upon further inspection i realized that it was only backing up about 20% of my system only and i should have noticed but i didn't expect that and that is how we learn the difference between knowledge and wisdom right? OK so at that point i had a bricked phone (MY DAILY DRIVER i might add) and i was not to happy to lose all my personal info either, so i went back on XDA to see what i could do. i was very pleased to see that there was now a working MetroPCS Package compliments of TSAR3000 and I went to work. I flashed it via Oden and was happy to see the familiar MetrPCS logo again, but i needed to re-root it so i used the ShinySides [AOF8] just to see if it would worked with the metro Firmware and it did! it trips KNOX but i could care less cause i dont want that crap anyways and i get rid of it right away lol. I debated if i sould put this next part in the message but i decided i would because people should be weary of programs and roots applications and remember that this is the true reason we root and unlock our phones to begin with... so Im not a paranoid person by nature but i dont trust King root or any of those one click apps companies because of some article i read a while back about how the Chinese root apps and downloads could possibly contain spyware but i never found any truth to it but from what i do know about the Chinese government i dont take the chance but its my opinion and i like the good old fashion (though a little more involved) flashing of SuperSU or whatever you like. So yes if you want to use ShinySides root procedure do it cause it works with metro just fine. Good luck.

Damn. So no real reliable root for the SM-G530T1 without using T-Mobile firmware?
I just bought it today assuming it would be as easy as all the other Samsungs I've owned in the past.
Just make sure your oem unlock is marked (YES) In developers options. This means your phone can be unlocked to flash firmware or recoveries and such... this is not to be confused with carrier unlocked though. This should help with the frp problem. as far as the "flashing of firmware through odin" the firmware that is available for the metropcs variant is designed to be odin flashable exclusively. If it isn't working than either you have an a faulty firmware package or a firmware pacage that I'm not aware of.

Reactivating an old thread, have there been any updates to the situation since the last post in 5/16? I need to root my G530T1. Is there a safe method?
I assume no replies mean there is still no safe way to root? Any other way to get rid of unwanted carrier and Google apps?

if you want to root it still just download SM-G530T1 A0H9 stock firmware ill send you the link if you need it, download stock firmware you have now for backup, download the stock firmware for the SM-G530T A0F8 and the root kernel for the SM-G530T here: https://forum.xda-developers.com/gr...l-root-root-sm-g530t-5-1-1-t3203476?nocache=1 you will also need the newest version of odin to do this. So first flash the A0H9 stock firmware and then the A0F8 firmware to change it to t-mobile and then that root kernel and you should be fine. If you run into any problems flash the stock firmware you had when you started.
Thanks for the reply. I managed to root the phone a couple of months ago but it did not do me that much good. I still can't delete the unwanted carrier and Google apps, and I can't get apps to download automatically to the SD card instead of the device. Is there any way to get rid of the bloatware?

You don't have a computer, but want to upgrade to the s8+? I wouldn't take the chance using flashfire because it has bricked a few phones this way. I would find a friend and borrow a computer to be safe or give back the s8+ and save money
