I've been in the xda community for years so whenever I get a review device early, I like coming here and sharing my experience. Let me know. My YouTube channel is Phone Tech At Work, I put up about 14 videos of the 6p and 5x if you need some more videos.
Have you seen if the "faster charging" label on screen happens when you don't use a usb-c supplied charger?
The charger has a USB type C connector as well so you need another wire. But the Nexus 6p does come with a additional shorter wire for USB type C to USB 3.0.I haven't tried it yet with another power brick but its definitely fast charging with the OEM.
Is fingerprint sensor speedy as claimed? Does phone get warm if multiple apps are running? Does it charge as fast as turbo charge? Thanks!

Mark, I have the 6s and Note 5, this fingerprint scanner is better then both, no question about it .. My unit hasn't acted warm on me yet but I've just been using YouTube and Social Media and testing the camera. It's not as fast as Turbo Charging from the Note 5 but around a hour and 20 minutes from 0-100%

Camera is pretty good. The 5x is surprisingly equal to the photo quality too but the video quality is better on the 6p. I've used it for 48 hours so I didn't have enough time to really test out the battery how I want to. Standby time is amazing and the most screen on time I had was almost 5 hours which is pretty good

I just re read what you said lol, I don't see any indication of fast charging at all when plugged into the included charger.
what colour do you have and how are the fingerprints?
Do you notice any excessive heat or slow down after a lot of usage?

No slowdown at all but I only downloaded a couple apps so far so my memory is pretty empty. It gets a little warm but that's just cause of the aluminum design. Not bad at all so far after 2 and half days

I have the really dark gray model, almost looks black in low light. It is a little bit of a fingerprint magnet but nothing bad as the Note 5 or s6. The fingerprint sensor is amazing.
Early reviews indicate it feels good in the hand. Slippery or par for the course?

Any review unit, I'm very cautious so I've been using the official Nexus case they provided us. I've had the case on since day one but as for my initial impression, it feels great.
Doesn't feel like a big phone but to the question is it slippery?.. Ehh.. Just a little bit, depends on the size of your hands. My hands are fairly big, so it's fine to me

When you plug in the included charger and go to the lockscreen it should state the following near the bottom "charging rapidly"?

Have you played with the 240 fps slow motion video feature yet? I'm interested in how it compares to other devices that can record 240 fps slow mo. Specifically how much blur is there for fast moving objects compared to other devices?

Hello Guys,
I have GNex, and of course it is a beast nobody can deny that... But, I am lost in RAZR M/i's display design.... I am looking forward to pre-order RAZR i.... Would you please share your experiences with it?? How is the phone/performance? Any noticeable lagging? How is the display?? A bit disappointing it is not HD, but very much comfortable to hold, that is where it caught my attention... Looking forward to hear ur feedback on this phone....
Many Thanks
Amoled display qhd not bad but yes would have liked HD (although still records in 1080p HD) Runs at 1.5 GHz which is the fastest out. Super clean. 1gb ram. 8MP camera. Been browsing homework answers on the internet and heavily using apps since 1030am lol and I'm at 94% so battery aint terrible. Although some people swear its god awful. Main thing is charging it with the charger that it came with. But anyways I'm loving it for the money man.

This phone is just plain great. Screen could be better, but definitely adequate. Battery life better than i was getting with my extended battery in a galaxy nexus, so I'm happy.
Good enough that I'm getting rid of the galaxy nexus and Motorola defy and just keeping this one. Would've paid double or triple...
After using the Idol 3 for a couple of weeks, I have the following observations.
Pros:
1) It is a very nice phone, especially considering the price.
2) Battery life is on par with most flagship phones if not better. I can get 5 hours SOT without turning anything off or down. (Considering most people on other phones are complaining about battery drain on Android 5.01/2 and everyone is hoping that 5.1 will fix this, our battery life may only get better)
3) The camera is quick taking shots and straight forward to use. (quality not so much)
4) The OS is simple with very little bloat ware.
5) Very good sound with the front facing speakers.
6) The phone is thin and light for a having a 2910 mAh battery in it.
7) The screen is very bright in direct sunlight. I use it outside a lot and enjoy using it without trying to find some shade.
Cons:
1) The camera is fast but only takes decent pictures. Although for this price one can't complain to much as it is on par of flagship phones a couple years old.
2) Double tap to wake seems to be a constant issue for many (myself included).
3) Only 1 update in the last 14 days. I was hoping for Alcatel to push out some updates quicker but only time will tell how well they do.
4) The phone isn't blazing fast but doesn't lag too much either so this is kind of neutral. Clearly the recent apps is choppy and slow but most performance is decent.
5) Very little in the way of accessories. I bought an ipad screen protector and cut it down to fit.(I can get 3 out of 1).
6) Development isn't there. Not sure if it will be as maybe the phone isn't popular enough or the root/boatloader issue my be part of that as well.
I had the Zenfone 2 and LG G3 and sold them both in favour of this phone. I have had almost every flag phone out there and thought I would play around with some lower priced devices and have been pleasantly surprised with this phone so far. 3 things for me to keep the phone as a daily driver for a little would be, the DTTW issue resolved, some development so I can have some fun flashing some roms, and update to Android M (or at least to 5.1 for some software improvements and extra battery life, but 5 hours of OST is good for me. I most likely will be keeping this phone as my backup once I do move on and will certainly keep an eye on Alcatel for future phones.
I agree 100% with what you said. Just waiting for an update to 5.1 (with some bug fixing) and I'd be very happy.
As for the camera, I'm coming from a Nexus 4. So this is a huge upgrade. I actually find that it takes pretty decent pictures in sunlight.

I watched a review that stated the Zenfone 2 camera blew the idol 3 away.
My personal experience is completely the opposite. The Zenfone 2 camera was slow at focusing and unless you picked a shooting mode the auto setting was the worse choice.
I was spoiled with the note 4 and G3 cameras.

Completely agree with all you have written on your posts[emoji2] . I have the phone and love it, double tap works very well, apex launcher + Deactivated animations in dev menu is a must!
And to screen off the device apex + screen off app is fantastic!
Oh and I have tried the laggy g3, its sad screen and its bad battery life [emoji6] ..

I like it too. if somehow development are started I don't really care if Alcatel updates. hardware wise I'm sure this phone can do better than it is now.
therefore I'm only praying for everything to come together for developments of custom roms before everyone got fed up of Alcatel and leave this boat.

There is a 3-pack of Mr Shield screen protectors on Amazon that fit the phone perfectly. They aren't the best quality (shows scratches pretty easily) but they have the cutout for the camera/light sensor.

I don't disagree but the update was on start up. Nothing after that. This is a budget phone and a great one at that. If they address a could issue this good be a decent daily driver.

Ive had this since yesterday. Phone has great potential with custom roms. My biggest complaint is the serious lag issues. Id assume this is from 5.0.2 and the memory leak. The animations are choppy as hell. Otherwise great device.

5.0.2 is full of bugs, yeah. Not sure why phones would ship with that in the first place but meh. To have a smoother experience, enable dev options and set all animation scales to off or .5x.
In europe evertything runs just fine animations, app clearing, everything even in 5.0.2, what's your build number?
The design is what sold me. Super light weight and very good battery life. Speakers are very good and the lcd is better than my nexus 5 was. The only downside is the lag which im thinking is from the gpu drivers and 5.0.2. Custom roms could fix this.

Hi all,
I am lucky enough to get a hold of a North American V20, H915 (Unlocked from local Carrier) locally through connections after seeing one on sale on ebay.
I also have a G5 as my daily driver prior to this and thought that it was the most underrated phone in 2016 (other than build quality). I have had every single mainstream phones out there since 2007, including the recently returned exploding Note 7
Ask if anything that you might have about it, and I will try my best to answer.

The first day was stellar, had a full charge when I start the day and ended with 46% by the end of the day. It runs extremely cool and seem to manage the battery much better than the Note 7 and G5. The G5 does well most of the time but it's inconsistent, it could be due to the better Doze as well.
I will monitor it over the next few days and report back.
How's the camera? It seems from media they use the dual lenses in a less effective manner than the iPhone. The wide angle looks a bit weird. Can you give some overall impressions of video and stills?

Yes, that's what I meant. My H870 has no Quad-dac, no Inductive charging and "only" 32 GB ROM.
I wished the screen would have been little wider and I am trying to get used to this resolution, heat is another issue especially when I play those mind games for sometime it gets hot which worries me a little, I wished lg would have given an option to remove bloatware both from att and lg to save some space, overall when I compare it to the g2 that I have used the last time for android its not a huge change for me except the larger screen which doesn't look like it.
Get it. Best quality phone I've owned in a long time. No chronic issues at all. There are few issues here and there but none compared to most other phones.

I was not that impressed with the G6 and sold it and am acually happier with my Lenovo P2 when using Android (albeit the camera totally sucks in comparison). 18:9 just doesn't do it for me as the screen feels like a 5,2" screen. Too narrow. Camera is good but image quality is bad when zooming in. This leaves little room for post processing when wanted. The UI stutters a fair bit and it does not feel very smooth. Definately not as smooth as my P2. The plastic back makes the phone feel cheap. Does not feel like glas. It is plastic?
Anywho I'm happier with my V10 and it will get just as awesome when it gets Nougat. Or even more awesome I would like to say.

No experience with the P2 by Lenovo, but also have a V10 and that is a good phone, too. The G6 is almost all glass, except for thin bezel and frame. Screen ratio is certainly personal preference, but when I look at other phones with the standard bezel, I really appreciate the nearly bezel free design. They just look cheap now! It also seems different variants have different oddities. My Tmo version has great, superb even, battery life and is very smooth. I think carrier software and poorly designed apps account for the lag.

What happened to the phone?
What happened?
1. Put it in the pocket (more than 50% of battery at time)
2. Few minutes later it was off
3. Tried to reset it with keys, plugged in charger - nothing
4. Left it overnight and in the morning after plugging in charger it said battery is 0% and started to charge (yeah!)
5. Phone started fine, everything was working but ~1h later while charging it died again
6. Left it - entire day and night, tried today again and nothing....
Stock software, no new application, no idea...
For me, perfect one
I have 3hr 30 min 50% battery left SOT
Looks like I'll hit 6hrs sot.
Sweet jebus what a beauty ...
I'm going to change it for camera quality.
Wide camera is cool, white balance and colors are perfect, but when zoom in too many details are losts. Also with low light my 5X was far better.
Before buy I recommend to look at some photo samples (I didn't!), I'm not a big photo expert but seems that LG has a particolar way to elaborate images (with pro and cons).
Rate this thread to express how well you can see the HTC U11+'s display outdoors. In case you've been playing Minecraft for 18 months straight, you might not known how to get outside anymore. Well, find the door and walk through it. A higher rating indicates that it has very high maximum brightness and thus fantastic outdoor visibility in direct sunlight.

GSM should have known it`s a defective unit& redo the test before posting the review. How come only they get subpar battery life results on U11+ while others report great battery life and a nice screen?

I imagine the 4 hours SOT is with LTE most of the case and high brightness level and 7 hours with most WiFi and lower brightness lever for example 40-50%
With my Galaxy S8 plus that’s the SOT I get so as I can see HTC has the same behavior and no problem.
Now I’m having one week now Huawei P10 and having 5 hours SOT per day mixed WiFi-LTE usage.
So judging from that the battery life for HTC is above average and on par with my previous S8 plus and current P10.

My point with that statement is that a key feature of the phone is a HUGE battery which comes at the cost of weight. Now if this extra 30g of unwanted weight isn't able to provide more battery life than say the LG v30 then it seems really quite bad.
