Google Earth?

Anybody get it to work? I installed from a copy on my phone and won't run.
Got to say, I was very unhappy with this device until rooted. How do you ship a device that can only get email and surf the web?
Now with the Market & ADWLauncher it works the way it should. Eden "looked" pretty, but drove me nuts!

Eden was horrible. It is so bad that I nearly grabbed my wife's iPad and threw the Adam in the bin. Now rooted and with Market and ADW Launcher EXE it behaves more like my N1.

Yea i was interested in google earth too.. online market says not availble to adam

I managed to make it work on mine (running edenX).

Bugs after 3.1,S US Wifi OUTSIDE US

I am in Germany and got the update to 3.1 om my US WIFI
After the update:
+ Books: does not work anymore. Can read one of the three books, two other say: "failure when trying to open the book"
+ Books: shop does not work anymore, says "https:market.android.com/books" is unknown URL
+ Movie Studio Icon is broken, says "app not installed", app under myapps still works, fix: reinstall on home screen.
+ no Movie access in market at all
+ no sign of Google Music at all
Thats it so far

Backup everything and do a factory reset....

All these apps are only available in US, so this is not a bug.

I'd call it a bug anyway.

Could not recreate first Books issue. Movie studio issue is well known here, I think. Easy fix.
Rest are because we are not in USA.

dl google books from market then go setting-apps-book-(sumthin like)remove update

Search for BooksTablet.apk and install it using ES File Explorer, then Uninstall updates. This worked for me.

The movie rental is a known issue by Google. The posted that it is not available at the moment for the Xoom Wi-Fi, even in US.

Play store on kindle fire!!! Omg!!!

Just got a modded play store apk from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1554338 and tryd it on my unrooted kindle fire and it ... WORKED!!! Almost after I tryd to download anything it said "app can not be found". So I think with a little more work this could really work and help alot of unrooted users.
Come on guys this really has potential to help a lot of people out!

Why did you need a modded one? The actual play store works fine..

Same for me.
It actually updated the market app.

It probably wont work though because google vending services need special r/w permissions

I tried it right before I rooted and it says server error when I try to login

If your kindle is rooted it works fine. Just root to install then unroot.

I don't see y you would root then unroot just for the market.
Well maybe if you are afraid to void your warranty then maybe you would.
But I say root and flash away lol.
But that is just me so pay no attention to me.

i heard alot of people talking bout the server error and even i experienced it with play store before root

It looks like Play Store adds the app Amazon Kindle, which really screws with the native reader software's ability to show your books list.... not sure what's exactly going on, but it's a headache that just started today.

i'm doing following (on stock rom):
- no automatic updates (only manually)
- don't update amazon software from google play (the kf has special versions which are integrated with the stock launcher - google play is'nt aware of)
- atm this is amazon mp3 and the kindle app
if you accidentially updated one of it simply go to settings - applications and select amazon mp3 or kindle - select uninstall updates - no need to restore a backup

WWE Network

I saw that WWE Network App came out for the Amazon Fire TV, has anyone attempted to sideload that apk to the ouya?
Looks like its tied to the amazon app store app, it wont launch unless you have the amazon app store installed.
UPDATED Got it to work outside of the fire tv:
Modified the apk to work on other android devices. i belive it only works on 4.2 and above (Sorry Ouya stock people)

anyone? I have an android 4.4.2 box and this is basically the only app i care about that i cannot get to work, assuming the fire tv one would work flawlessly!

i modified the apk to play on other boxes but it needs android 4.2. so i cant test on the ouya (4.1) Will you be willing to test the apk for me? Link on the first post.

I actually have another post up on the amazon fire tv forums asking for an extraction and someone was kind enough to provide the apk for me, since i 'bought' the app on the web app store despite not hacing a device able to run it and also having the amazon app store on the device, i was able to run it. i did have lots of issues and while video technically works, i was not able to pause fast forward etc only go back here is the post:
So i was able to purchase/own the wwe network app from the online amazon store despite me not technically having a device it would run on, this box can also install the amazon app store no problem, though it obviously only sees the android wwe network app and not this one.. GOOD NEWS is that the app is working on my account! its def a bit wonky but i am hoping it is some stuff i can fix with some DPI xposed changes or something of the like, thanks so much very appreciated, and def works!!

So what exactly did u modify in the file? if it is to just get it to run, i have that already, if it is dpi changes or anything like that.. than it may be worht checking out!

this apk is modified so amazon app store isnt required. i havent tested is another box but it worked on my Samsung s5.

You were able to view other tabs besides home? Even on my HTC one m8 the homepage looks fine but the images dont load on the other tabs. Such as shows and schedule

I started to have this issue on my Tronsmart android tv box shortly before summerslam it stopped working and is still not, maybe there was an update to the app and i twas not updated here?

Today I looked at my Fire TV and look at that...
I can now Dload WWE app from AFTV store and use it.:good:
Have done nothing to my boxes.

I know this post is from 100 years ago, I'm trying to remove the amazon dependency from the APK but I'm having trouble figuring out how to remove the "check". Can you tell me what you changed in the APK so it will run without the Amazon app store being installed?

It would login and then never actually play the video. I ended up exporting the apk from my fire stick and side loading it to my android box. I also had to install the Amazon underground app in order for the apk to work.

[Q] Does anyone have Xfinity TV Go working?

I am really trying to get Xfinity TV Go to work on my NP. I have tried the one from the play store as well as the Leanback Launcher one that is out there. All of them crash and say "Unfortunatley, TV Go has stopped" when I try and play a video or watch a live stream. I tried an older version of the app last night and it loaded video, just no sound. Does anyone have any success with this? I know others have said theirs work.

I've got Comcast so I can try this out, but it will be later tonight or tomorrow before I'll have time to play around with it.

Thanks! Just let me know. I am very frustrated with it since ESPN works flawlessly for me.

I have the same problem as you, the app sideloads and opens just fine, but when I go to play any video it crashes back to its home screen.

Any luck getting xFintity GO to work on the Nexus Player?

I did notice an update is available but i haven't tried it yet

I managed to get a version to work. I had to extract the apk (unzip), remove the lib/x86 folder, re-zip, and sign.
Since when you sign, it will be with a different key, you will have to uninstall the current installed version first.
Either use adb uninstall com.xfinity.playnow
or, if you have root and want to keep the data, adb root; adb shell pm uninstall -k com.xfinity.playnow
Then install this:

I am going to try this when I get home. So can I not just uninstall the current xfinity tv go the normal way and install yours?

I tested out the app last night and it works! You are a genius! I did notice that the 3 dot menu does not work, so you can't watch live channels or search for anything that is not on the main menu. Android broke that functionality in 5.1. I then downgraded to 5.0 and it worked perfectly. I did not root my NP and when I woke up it had updated to 5.1.1. I may have to downgrade again and root so it does not change.
My question for you. Do you know a way to use the 3 dot menu in 5.1.1 in general? BC it wrecked tons of apps we sideloaded. Also, since you are good at altering an app, would it be easy to alter the xfinity app to allow the 3 dot menu?

Can you edit the androidmanifest and make the app open to "networks" instead of featured? Or any other section in the context menu?

I didn't try remote. But controller (gamepad) doesn't work at all.
The mouse is required to navigate through the app on Nexus Player - login and navigation.
And yes - no way to open menu or so ever. Basically you will be stuck on first 'Feature' page only.
In my case it was 'Must see', 'Thu Night TV' and 'Wed Night TV'.
Tried to play one of the available episodes - works perfectly fine.

Any thoughts on why this wouldn't work on Android X86? They are both Intel.

Got Live TV Working!
So I modified the apk and told it to launch to the live TV page instead of featured videos. APK Attached.

i have the regular Xfinity TV Go app working. With live tv and recorded shows. I get the full app menu. I'm running android 5.02 still on my ADT-1

The modified APKs in this thread do work on the Nexus Player which is an x86 device. Are you trying to use it on something else like a tablet?

The ADT-1 uses a Tegra 4 SoC so it's an ARM device. If you update the operating system to Android 5.1 or higher, then some of your apps will lose the hamburger or 3 dot menu access.

Gabby It was actually really easy. Decompiled the apk, Edited the "\smali\com\xfinity\playerlib\view\launch\PlayerLaunchStrategy.smali" file. Replaced the two calls to the /featured/FeaturedActivity with /browseprograms/LiveStreamsActivity. Then recompiled and signed. (I did have to use the apk that you posted as a basepoint).
