WWE Network

I saw that WWE Network App came out for the Amazon Fire TV, has anyone attempted to sideload that apk to the ouya?
Looks like its tied to the amazon app store app, it wont launch unless you have the amazon app store installed.
UPDATED Got it to work outside of the fire tv:
Modified the apk to work on other android devices. i belive it only works on 4.2 and above (Sorry Ouya stock people)

anyone? I have an android 4.4.2 box and this is basically the only app i care about that i cannot get to work, assuming the fire tv one would work flawlessly!

i modified the apk to play on other boxes but it needs android 4.2. so i cant test on the ouya (4.1) Will you be willing to test the apk for me? Link on the first post.

I actually have another post up on the amazon fire tv forums asking for an extraction and someone was kind enough to provide the apk for me, since i 'bought' the app on the web app store despite not hacing a device able to run it and also having the amazon app store on the device, i was able to run it. i did have lots of issues and while video technically works, i was not able to pause fast forward etc only go back here is the post:
So i was able to purchase/own the wwe network app from the online amazon store despite me not technically having a device it would run on, this box can also install the amazon app store no problem, though it obviously only sees the android wwe network app and not this one.. GOOD NEWS is that the app is working on my account! its def a bit wonky but i am hoping it is some stuff i can fix with some DPI xposed changes or something of the like, thanks so much very appreciated, and def works!!

So what exactly did u modify in the file? if it is to just get it to run, i have that already, if it is dpi changes or anything like that.. than it may be worht checking out!

this apk is modified so amazon app store isnt required. i havent tested is another box but it worked on my Samsung s5.

You were able to view other tabs besides home? Even on my HTC one m8 the homepage looks fine but the images dont load on the other tabs. Such as shows and schedule

I started to have this issue on my Tronsmart android tv box shortly before summerslam it stopped working and is still not, maybe there was an update to the app and i twas not updated here?

Today I looked at my Fire TV and look at that...
I can now Dload WWE app from AFTV store and use it.:good:
Have done nothing to my boxes.

I know this post is from 100 years ago, I'm trying to remove the amazon dependency from the APK but I'm having trouble figuring out how to remove the "check". Can you tell me what you changed in the APK so it will run without the Amazon app store being installed?

It would login and then never actually play the video. I ended up exporting the apk from my fire stick and side loading it to my android box. I also had to install the Amazon underground app in order for the apk to work.

Im sure this is a silly question but is there an actual regular app store or do you just have to browse though the panels?
There just doesnt seem to be many apps at all to install I figured there must be some better way of getting them more like playstore.

Yes, there are other/new places to look for getting Fire TV apps, but unfortunately because of being new in this forum I'm not yet permitted to place external links in my posts (which would be the easiest way to assist) So, just do search on 'fire tv apps 2014' and/or 'fire tv app options' which will lead to some info that should hopefully help? In addition, I found a few recent and relevant links on the 1st page in a Google search for 'finding apps for fire tv'. But as far as there being a store solely for Fire TV apps, I'm not sure if there is one yet

If you can install from unknown sources,there is 1mobile,appchina,wandoujia,voga360,and aptoide.
You can also use evozi and/or apkleecher to get free apps from the Play Store.
And you can even get your purchased apps by signing up at the Evozi APK Downloader page!

Update: @jarayn informs me that it is not a launchable app.
And just to bring it full circle. The Amazon Appstore comes preloaded on the AFTV. It's just very hidden. This is the location on the latest FW.
Go to: Settings / 4) Applications / Manage All Installed Applications / Apptore ( Just scroll down till you find it & launch)

Are you saying you can open that and actually browse through apps?

Humn... Didn't try to open it. Guess it is there but everything is dealt thru the UI. Wonder if there is another app to sideload that might act like an actual appstore. No point though....

I side-loaded the regular appstore apk from Play. Kinda messed things up. Had to Unzip Rbox's pre-rooted ROM to retrieve the correct one from Apps. Then had to R/W with Root Explorer to remove the side-loaded one and replace with the correct one.
Be careful messing with AFTV specifc apps.

Hi my first thread I was excited. I have been using aptoide for installing virtually anything without any difficulties and whilst browsing it informed me there was an upgrade for Amazon store, of course I clicked it, I have updates blocked in the router by the way.
Well I didn't expect much , Amazon store runs for about 20 seconds and closes so far, shame.
I opened my main menu, closing the fire menu Low and Behold all my apps now appear in the main app menu . I have powered off and on, they are still there. Here is the screen shots, excuse the text I'm on my phone . Enjoy

This is a great post.
I really want this but do not want to loose my root access or want any funky issues. I think my questions will put a lot of user concerned to rest.
I hope someone brave enough who has rooted there AFTV would try your approach and see if it works. I would love it if that person can confirm the following
1) Was your AFTV rooted before you click on the AmazonApp and updated?
2) did you block OTP updates using adb or just thru router?
3) what firmware are you currently running? Is amazon stock firmware or pre-rooted firmrware?
4) Did you try the boot into CWM using Rbox boot menu and try to reboot system thru CWM for normal amazon boot?

I read in another thread that installing the Amazon Appstore breaks something.
Would be nice to have all appears appearing like this, but I'm waiting until I hear more.

Hi I did as stated have Amazon store open. With my details etc I clicked through to log-in all fine the store opened and can be opened but closes after a short period. I did not use the store before presuming it unavailable and just a service I don't have anything paid on the device and probably never will being an ex-pat. Just running xbmc with smart DNS all fine here Thx

it is fine if u dont use prime video or any of that but if u do it breaks things

It doesn't really break anything, and there's a simple solution to get things working as they should, simply uninstall and things are instantly back to working. What I have always done is keep the app store apk so that I can uninstall when I need to install amazon apps, then reinstall when I am done.

Seems as reported I jumped the gun, appstore does indeed get broken. As a helper you can use Es file manager, Go into Library and app. You will find the apk there , long hold to highlight then backup / uninstall it will ask you if you would like the factory default apk. All done and returned along with the backup for reinstallation . hope this helps

I have got my AFTV yesterday, I have blocked the amazon urls in my rooter and used opendns as well but still Firetv is updated to the latest version which is 51.1.4.2 I think which is unrootable. Any way I have tried OP's option of getting the aptoide and updating the amazon appstore, which broke the the appstore but all the apps appeared in the apps as OP showed in the image without doing any llama thing etc. but as in previous post I have repaired the amazon appstore and all the view is back to normal for the apps screen. So, I am thinking to update appstore again and restore my apps view which is better for me as a starter but I have to think of a way to get the appstore working for some apps. hope my exercise will someone and if anyone have solution for my problem, please reply. Sky Go Now Working on AFTV!

I have been trying many different ways now to get Sky Go working on the AFTV and gave up in the end. However sky updated the app to 4.1.3 yesterday which states it will work on all android devices above 4.0.
I update the app on my phone, used another app to extract the apk then used adbfire to install the app on the AFTV...it now works perfectly.
You will need a mouse or keyboard with mouse to use it as the aftv remote doesnt work, yo h also need to ensure you have a UK IP. I had a DNS setup for XBMC so have that setup on wired and then UK ip on the wirless

I cant get this to work. Ive logged in, but when i go to play a stream, I get the error message that Sky Go does not support Miracast. Im running the latest version of Fire TV, and I believe Miracast was added in one of these updates. Are you running the latest version of Fire TV? Also, I am not rooted. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

Can you explain what it is you are trying to do?
What i did is install the .apk file with adbfire (im on mac) and then Sky Go shows in the applications list. I just launch the app and then once logged in it works fine.
You need to ensure you are using v4.1.3 of Sky Go else it wont work

Im doing the same as you. I have the latest skygo app. I just get the error message about miracast. Are you running the latest Fire TV software with miracast? (Im not using miracast, but the app is coming up with this error presumably because the Fire TV has this functionality)
The old skygo app didnt let you log in as it said the device was not compatible. The new app lets me log in, but wont let me play streams

How are you guys hiding your root as I get the error Sky Go is not supported on rooted android devices?

The NOWTV app also works with a USB mouse connected
I used the same method for installing kodi to get the app to show in my recent list and changed the ikono icon to that of NOWTV's
Nice to get skys channels on the fire tv

Any idea how to get this to work on a rooted AFTV without using Hide my Root? I haven't tried it but with Hide my Root I think the only way to get it to work is uninstall the SU App and then reinstall when you are finished with Sky Go. That feels a bit risky to me and also is really a root removal rather than cloak...

Might just be worth un-rooting my second Fire TV to get Sky Sports and Movies in the spare room then

I just unrooted mine to get it working, didn't really ever take advantage of the root anyway. It is now working great on both the Fire TV and Fire Stick.

I'm on a Mac, so what I did was right click on the adbfire app and go into it's contents, navigated to the kodi icons directory and replaced the icons with the NOWTV icons.
Opened up adbfire and selected to replace the ikono icons with NOWTV's/kodi's.

I just grabbed it from google images and resized it to match the sizes of the kodi icons.

How do you set Ikono to work for both Skygo and Kodi. Is this possible.

I sidloaded last night. The remote will not function, have to use gamepad. I was unable to view the guide. It was not a good experience. I will just continue casting until/if they support android tv.

Thanks, I truly dislike using the controller for my TV operations. I have a Fire TV and was experiencing streaming issues using the service. Day 1 launch problems.

anyone able to get a hold of the apk for the fire tv? that should work with the shield tv with the remote and all

Fire TV made apps won't work outside Amazon devices due to device compatibility checks that are perform during the launch of the apps. I tried this with the Vue app on my Nexus player.

I tried it with the iTV fire apps and the Amazon video app and got them to work by basically looking at the dependent amazon apps and installing them as well. If I had a fire still I'd give it a go but alas I don't.

Ok, so I was able to extract the Fire TV .apk file and sideload onto my Nvidia Shield TV. I was able to open it and navigate using the standard Shield remote. The only issue I am having is playing live TV content. Sometimes it loaded fine and other times it gives me an error and telling me to Refresh the content. Seems to be very buggy for Android TV. Here is a link to the extracted .apk file. I would like to see what you guys get trying this out.

I will try it this evening when I get home from work. What you are describing is basically the same issues I am having with the supported Fire TV device.

Well I installed the Amazon app store too on my Sony TV since the Vue app was asking for it and I still kept getting that device compatibility error. Of course there's now an Android TV app did the Vue though.
*I wanted to add that maybe my devices aren't rooted so I don't have any means to turn device compatibility check off like I do with my 6P.

I installed it and got error 40 which I got on my tablet because it's rooted. I assumed it was due to root so I disabled super su and tried again. This time ESPN started right up but video was choppy. I try other channels and get error 40 again. Are you rooted? If so can someone without root try? I don't want to unroot to try it but will I have to. I hate having to switch inputs to my fire tv box to watch live tv.

I got it installed on my unroofed shield tv. Similar behavior with the errors on some channels. I'm having better luck using the streams from the what's on now section

From what I have seen that error 40 if it followed by something like 1005 means it has detected root.
I was able to load a version of the amazon fire app onto my shield last night. The remote works, same interface as my fire stick down stairs.
I got TBS to stream, but then had no other luck and gave up. The error I got was telling me to refresh, I don't remember the code it was almost 2am.
My phone Pixel XL that is rooted is giving the error 40 and I did look into that some, seems to be because of root. I don't THINK I rooted my Shield TV. Pretty sure I never did. Never had a reason to want to.
Some of these errors were due to what I believe to be service overload. They are admitting to an "overwhelming demand" It was not loading channels consistently on my PC at work yesterday 5PM EST yesterday and was also messing up when I got home to try it on the Fire Stick. This got a lot better by 11PM EST last night and I am told that it is working great today from the Amazon Fire Stick, I have not been home to try it yet.
With all of that said it has been hard to tell which errors were because we are trying to sideload the app and which are service errors in general that have nothing to do with the device we are trying to use...
Side note is there a thread just about the DirecTV Now app? Would love to figure out how to bypass this root detection so I can use it from my phone.

I have this loaded to my google drive to try on my shield tonight.
The Amazon App does not seem to have the VOD content that the phone app does. Im hoping this is the phone app, but that also sounds like you need a mouse to make it work well. (remote issues)
Purchased one of the Adesso mouse/keyboard/remote thingys to try with the app and the shield.

Looks like the thread in the link above was created the day after this one, just thought I'd mention it incase anyone has missed it.
No conclusive answers yet. Seems there is the Google + post about the app that is tweaked gonna try it soon.

Heya - I'm thinking about the Shield refresh. Currently use a K1 tablet as my pseudo-TV experience. I need DirecTV Now to work. So I guess things aren't looking optimistic yet and I should stick with the K1 for now? Is Android TV and the remote worth it?

Unfortunately I don't have the file. I downloaded it on my old phone and I didn't save a backup. I also wiped my Shield TV so I don't have it on there either. You aren't missing much because it was just the mobile app and it didn't work very well. I don't know what the hold up is with Directv Now and Android TV but if they don't get an app before my 3 months of prepaid service is up I'm cancelling and going back to PS Vue or Sling TV. I was having so many issues with it on my Apple TV that I just started using a free 2 month trial to Sling TV.
