just wondering if anyone here experience this. I just upgraded my firmware to latest (rogers) DOH1. (using n900w8). after the update, my back button stop working. only home and menu button works. but when I use the spen, the back button works. everything works fine until I updated the firmware.
any ideas guys.

Quick background. I had a Chevron unlock token which I bought before they stopped distributing them and ever since I bought that token my phone was not quite them same (lag, slow...etc) but it worked and I never had any real problems with it..That is until I received an update from Verizon, at this moment I'm having a hard time remembering what the update was (7773?) idk, anyway since that update my power button has stopped functioning. I know that it works because I am able to enter the boot screen by holding down power and volume down. Currently I am running the 7.8 ROM Nokser posted with radio 1.53.00.02.15, HSPL 1.3.230506.209. Does anyone know if there is a possible fix for this problem? Thanks in advance for any help!
Also I dont know if this is of any importance but if I try to install any update through zune it is stuck in an endless boot cycle. I previously flashed a no-do ROM and tried to install updates and it did the same thing.
can anyone give me any tips at all as to what I should even try to get this power button working? It works because I can enter boot mode by holding it plus the volume button down, but is completely non functional when the OS is up and running.
I would appreciate any help.

My L720-S4 is experiencing a failure of the touch buttons (menu and return buttons next to the home button). I've researched and tried various programs, such as Virtual Button Bar and Button Savior. With these programs, the return function works well but the MENU button does not work.
I've done Xposed but that didn't have the options for the MENU button that I could find.
So after further research, I rooted the device to edit the /SYSTEM/USR/KEYLAYOUT/GENERIC.KL file to change the volume down button (114) to MENU. Unfortunately this also does not work.
Can I get some advice or suggestion as how I may go about reprogramming on of the keys to act as the MENU button ideally or have a menu button GUI overlay like the two software above? Device is currently on stock ROM @ 4.4.2.

The Sprint S4 boot loader comes unlocked,and since youre already rooted,just flash a stock ROM or ODIN back to stock and re-root. All of this assuming you just want the buttons to work like stock.

It's probably me but what you suggest seems to be where I'm at right now. Flashing back to stock then re-rooting is the same as me rooting the stock ROM. If at all possible, I'm trying to map the volume down button with one press to work in place of the defective MENU button and a long hold of the volume down button will lower the volume.
Again, maybe I miss understood your suggestion so my apologies if that's the case and hope you'll explain in more detail.

Has this ever happened to anybody before?
I performed a clean flash of N900W8VLU2DOD1 through Odin (pulled battery, booted straight into Download mode).
The menu softkey works, but seems to register as hitting/long pressing the menu button, so S Finder opens.
The Back button does not respond to touch, but will light up when the Menu button is pressed.
All of my softkeys are working just fine when I am running a custom Touchwiz ROM, or Temasek's CM12.1...
Does anybody know how to fix this?!

problem started when i flashed custom ROM. Recent key light wont turn on but its working than when i press it than trouble starts, back key (lights working) and recent key wont stop auto pressing till i start touching screen million times, auto pressing than stop till i touch again one of this keys. In *#2663# menu "Phone`s Touch key FW version: 0x1d" and "Part`s Touch key FW version: 0x1d" say i have that version dunno if this can be useful. I have SM-G900F, please help me also sorry for my English.

I tried with CM13 and some stock firmware`s, always the same situation when i flashed stock kikat only i change "part`s touch version fw"

Flash stock, Factory reset, don't edit or change anything, see if it works
"part`s touch version fw" controls those touch keys, obviously that's the problem

Ok i did that i flash first kitkat ever for my phone (G900FXXU1ANCE_G900FOXX1ANC7_G900FXXU1ANCE_HOME.tar) now my "Phone`s Touch key FW version: 0x1a" but "Part`s Touch key FW version: 0x1d" stay same. When i try to update its say that "IC`s F/W is higher than Bin`s F/W" what i can do know? I tried also this ROM and auto pressing is less frequent but back light on recent still dosnt work, just on back button.
I installed Lineage 7.1.1 and I am on the latest build for 2-14-17 on G900T.
I have an issue where my home, back button and the app switch button does not work. A quick reboot would fix it, but that's not working anymore.
Installed button savior and that helped, but I would love my buttons back. Can someone please tell me how to fix this?

I found disabling Talkback will fix it.
