Does anyone have a link to the OTA update IAN76K from IAN76H? I know factory images are available for IAN76K, but I'm looking for the actual OTA file that was pushed to Nexus Q devices. Thanks in advance!

I have this sneaking suspicion that the I/O Q's shipped with H loaded but K in the recovery or whatever. I noticed that mine had changed when i did a factory reset. I don't know for sure though. Doubt anybody is able to get a logcat at this point in time. Do you have a device with ian67 H installed?

No. I don't own a Q actually. I operate a firmware repository for every Nexus device from the Nexus S onward. I mirror official factory images and OTA updates for posterity. The site is http://randomphantasmagoria.com. I just added a page for the NQ today and was looking to see if anyone had the OTA link so I could mirror it.

If anyone that has a NQ is willing to take about 30 minutes to assist: I'd like to find the IAN67K ota:
If you would like to help, here's what you can do:
Reflash IAN67K (if you are not already on stock, and you must be on stock to do this)
Root your device
Change the following lines in build.prop:
Code:
ro.build.date.utc=1339795569
ro.build.fingerprint=google/tungsten/phantasm:4.0.4/IAN67H/384240:user/release-keys
Check for updates
Post the name of the update zip it downloads

I'll give it a try in a little while.
You might need to check adb logcat while doing the check for updates, as we do not have the actual URL for it, just giving the filename will only give the filename.
I'm not sure how setting up adb works on the NQ though, I assume it's like normal devices as it has a usb port(?)
(if you know how to set up adb you can skip to step 7)
Download platform tools
Download usb drivers
extract both packages
Turn on usb debugging (I dont know the exact steps to do this on the NQ)
Install the drivers if windows requests it (and I am assuming you are using windows)
go to where you extracted platform tools and do "adb logcat"
Check for updates, if there is one available then post the contents of logcat
If you are able to get that far you can just directly post the logcat if you do not know how to read it.

No problem. I wish I would have seen this thread months ago. I would have done it then. I don't get over to the Nexus Q forums too often.

Well we only realised that this works a couple days ago, unless you actually had a NQ with IAN67H the entire time

I don't ever remember seeing IAN67H. As far as I can remember its been "k". I really hope its not the last version we'll see...

Given the current (lack) of news on the NQ, it seems unlikely.
I dont even own one but I'd hope it does too.
Like a hypothetical merger of NQ type media streamers and google TVs into KLP like how ICS merged tablets and phones.
But I digress
Because we now have this information, I have created a Nexus Q page on the website to mirror the firmware.

Yeah it seems like a very minor update.
User facing changes:
Hubbroker.apk got updated (what is this? is it the NQ's launcher?)
Music2.apk got updated
Lib/frameworks/non user facing updates:
/system/bin/common_time
/system/framework/ext.jar
/system/framework/framework-res.apk
/system/vendor/lib/libWVStreamControlAPI_L1.so (WV as in widevine?)
and that's it, every other file is simply updating the timestamp.
OK, so maybe a dumb question, so bare with me here. I m new to the Q but not the android world.
How would us users who have a stock Q go about updating to this latest version. I am having issues with my Q after about 20 minutes and was hoping to give this a whirl and see if it fixes it.

I can almost guarantee you have the latest version as its been around since I got the Q last July.
I have the same issue you have as well. I'm pretty sure its a Google back end thing and not a problem with the build. Although Google may release an update that fixes the problem.

Okay so I have a LG E960 aka Nexus 4 here. I bought this phone from a random guy on the internet. Now the thing here is its running on a pre release Jellybean 4.2, no Photosphere and some apps are still buggy. The hardware is same with the device which will be released on November 13 but I'm thinking can I get OTA update of final JellyBean 4.2 from google? Is there anyway that the AOSP be ported on my phone? Here's the screenies of my about phone

Cool, thanks, I had forgotten why I stopped frequenting XDA.
According to androidpolice, Google will be pushing an OTA update to prerelease devices on Nov.11, which will include lockscreen widgets, and hopefully some optimizations.
Good luck man! How does the device feel?

Software wise, its fast. Apps still buggy at the moment but useable. One thing that I really love about this device is the screen. Color is so lovely and much better than Galaxy Nexus with trinity kernel (phone where I came from). The phone is a bit fat for me which makes holding this device a bit difficult with one hand.
And one more thing, the camera is good also!

Does it say nexus on the back? Maybe once the device is available you can flash a custom ROM with recovery or once the factory image is available you could use fast boot and flash the image.

Yea! Its pretty much the same with the Nexus 4 unit which will be out on November 13. The thing is there's no usb drivers for this phone right now so I can't unlock the bootloader. Maybe once the OTA will be relase I can connect it on my PC. Hopefully!

10 char.
And a quick and dirty run down on how to get the SDK USB drivers, with pictures. All in all it's a pretty quick process depending on internet connection speed, as long as you don't accidentally download the API's, and you aren't gathering and cropping screenies.
01. Download the Android SDK installer.
02. Run the installer.
03. Chose to start the SDK Manager.
04. Uncheck the API's, Check Tools->Platform-tools, and Extras->Google USB driver, hit Install.
05. Select accept all, hit Install.
06. Plug in the phone, shut down any driver auto install windows.
07. Open control panel device manager.
08. Find something with a yellow triangle that sounds like it might be the phone.
09. Hit update driver.
10. Chose Browse my computer.
11. Let me pick from a list...
12. Show all devices.
13. Chose Have disk, then hit browse, go to wherever the SDK was installed, navigate to tools/usb-driver/ highlight the .inf. Then Open, ok, and every positive choice that comes your way after that.
Ta... da.
Currently download Android SDK. It will be done in a few minutes. I noticed I skipped a few steps on the your posts before. I will try it again this time. Phone it works now!

I have a gnex but I remember seeing that someone ported it in the ns4g.
Its still under the name boot2gecko but you probably going to need to wait for a more stable version gets released. Right now I think its buggy with limited functions but has a radio.
I'm not 100% positive this is correct but I'm just trying to give some insight.

Hi!
Firefox os did support Nexus S. Here is my method to put Firefox os into Nexus S.
1. Download ICS image from google, soju-imm76d-factory-ca4ae9ee.tgz
2. tar zxvf soju-imm76d-factory-ca4ae9ee.tgz
3. Press volume up + power key. Nexus S will get into fastboot mode.
4. run "./flash-all.sh" Nexus S will be flashed with ICS image
5. get into B2G code and run script "./config.sh nexus-s"
6. build image "./build.sh"
7. flash image "./flash.sh"

but google today release android L source code for Nexus 4 and other Nexus devices.
It's just gpl projects, not full source.
You must read carefully and understand.
Below the link for Andriod L preview source code for nexus 4:

@simms22 I'm trying to learn how to port with my growing older by the minute Nexus 4 before I switch over to something new with the Nexus line in jeopardy. I'll be honest, I don't think L is ready to be ported. I ran it three times on my n5. it is nice, but its buggy as heck. and there is no real source for it(to use). what's published is very incomplete. it also has kernel changes and new binaries that aren't published. you can't build a nexus 5 ROM from it.

Just wait a week. Don't use the developer preview. It's a really bad build and not stable at all.
The open beta is said to be coming out by the end of this month. Meaning it will be dropping this week unless there's been some sort of last minute critical bug found (doubtful).
