Android Q Open Beta - OnePlus 6T Questions & Answers

I am rooted with Twrp and Majisk. I want to try out the Android Q beta, but want to make sure I install it properly. Was wondering if anyone has done this yet and what the best way to do this is?

Flash again dp3, flash again twrp installer

Just wait a week. Don't use the developer preview. It's a really bad build and not stable at all.
The open beta is said to be coming out by the end of this month. Meaning it will be dropping this week unless there's been some sort of last minute critical bug found (doubtful).

Best ROM for the P7000

Stock vs CM vs Vibe
We were supposed to get 5 different polished ROMs and, instead of that, we need to find our way to get a barely working phone.
Which is the most stable? Which is the most beautiful?
Those lucky enough to have received the phone, speak.

What's your deal? Taking so much bull**** that you need to spread it?
Right now I'm using MDS rom it's working good. Everything is working. Supersu is updated and xposed is too. I'm still having some visual problems but nothing to worry about... My album art work wasn't working on stock but it is on this ROM. They just took stock and made it better... I do have a question. Can you send me cm12.1 that I can flash in CWM. I can't get the tool to work for me.

look, the way you asked the question is how you got the first reponse. the same can be asked with you, whats your deal?
just calm down and let it go. keep it clean.
also what works for the other users might not work for you. so much hype around this phone and they didn't dissapoint-they market the item well and always sell half finished goods.
maybe the only good thing going for it is they "might" release source code which they should be doing any way so the community irons out the bugs.
they're trying a different approach with the P8000 saying we will give out the kernel source code blah blah blah developer friendly etc but i will wait and see. i tried for 3 weeks to get P7000 in flash sales. twice i had in my basket trying to check out and the price jumped from 159usd to 209usd by the time i checked out. i thought it was a sign, wait... wait until reviews and see if any shipping issues. i'm glad i did.
now to answer your question to the best of my ability...the stock rom is the only one that i know off that allows the fingerprint reader to work properly.
each of the other firmwares have their advantages and disadvantages.
XDA doesn't allow "best rom" threads but i understand where you are coming from.
are you looking in terms of stability or most working features?
look @ my signature, so far is the best rom, few bugs that needs to be iron out "other roms have not been updated recently"
@TopoX84
How did you get the Build 20150629? On the phone Wireless update it is Build 20150617 only?
Well, that's what it said on the ele flash app that they have on their website, if I check the settings it does states 20150617

The 20150629 release doesn't seem to be an official one, just a modded version of the 20150617 release.

Yes there is. Please test it and report back because I too am having problems with A2DP bluetooth audio and my car: only plays on the first try. If I close the app and open it again, it does not send any audio through.
A new version of the stock OS came in OTA. If you want to test it you have to reset to the stock rom and install the OTA update. It's way more fluid than the original, seriously for me it was day and night. I didn't get trouble with the photo and the new launcher is nice. It's still Android 5.0.

Sailfish OS on the bullhead

edit: latest 14.1 base out with fixed camera and booting
edit: alpha6 is out, sensors fixed, but camera is completely broken
So I finally have a decent enough port of SFOS on bullhead

Flash the latest stock image for your base and boot into it. for android 7 thats 7.1.2 (N2G48C, Aug 2017) and android 6 thats 6.0.1 (MTC20K)
Reboot to twrp
Format data
Reboot to twrp again
copy over the zips
flash cm or lineage from prefered base, but 14.1 is better.
Flash sfos zip
Working

also since store is sometimes a bit meh, you can use
https://openrepos.net/content/basil/warehouse-sailfishos
best way to copy files onto device is through ssh, setup password in developer options
store is sometimes broken, you need to do devel-su pkcon refresh in terminal, need to set password up in developer options.
OTA - Over the Air update
Best way to update SailfishOS is by using an ssh connection to the phone.
Disable all patches and Openrepos repositories before updating.
Before updating use
Set desired release version, for example 2.2.0.29:
ssu release 2.2.0.29

this wouldnt of been possible from the immense amount of help from the guys @freenode#sailfishos-porters

on hammerhead it works fine as 2nd rom.
Holy crap this is awesome! I was waiting for a sailfish os port since I switched from my nexus 4. Is there a way for me (as an non-coder) to help you out somehow?
Oh and do you think it is possible that camera will work in the future or is this a missing driver code thing?

And I know I'm bothering, but another question...
Is this rom doesn't contain boot animation? Cuz I saw cm13 booted well, but after flashing this over cm13 I can't see anything except google logo. Should I set my bootloader to the latest one?

What's the most current and bug free Pixel C Rom?

Hi. What's the most current pixel C rom that doesn't have any bugs or other issues? Looking to move away from stock but last I checked some of the roms had some bugs still. Is that still the case?
Lineage 17.1 is pretty smooth, camera crashes after ~30mins of video but I mean that's a lot, reboot fixes that. Sometimes on boot you have to wait ~2mins before unlock pattern will work if you want to secure it. Other than that, butter

Thanks. Looking into it. Not an easy thing to do for a semi-beginner. Will have to do more research on how to get it done. Want to be careful not to brick the device.

Eh, bricking a Google device is pretty hard. Easiest thing is unlock it (enable oem unlocking) then flash twrp from fastboot (need a Linux liveboot or mac system to do that) then flash the rom+gapps. twrp should let you mount usb storage but if not you can adb 'em over, there's install instructions for all of those things in the requisite threads

Looks like it's not fully stable yet, if that's the right term. Says encryption not tested. I tried looking into installing Lineage 17.1 as tabormeister mentioned earlier in the thread, but couldn't find an easy how to guide. It's been a while since I've installed a custom rom. Do you know where I can get easier info about how to install it?

Android 11 vs. Beta 5

Please help me. I have Android 11 -11.0.2.2 IN11AA. On the news feeds I see that there's an Android Beta 5 for the 8 series. I didn't know that the Beta was still happening after I had 3. Help me to understand the difference. Do I want to stay with 11.0.2.2 or go to the beta?
Thanks
I have tried both the beta is more usable and stable than the stable version.
In beta your getting the same updates faster (almost nothing is changed in stable compared to the beta)
I just installed the Beta 5. Right off the bat it's faster than stock 11. No complete wipe, I liked that. Not bugs yet but I'd expect some I guess. But so far so good
Thanks

Yo yo yo.....long press the file and click rename. Go to the end of the filename and make sure it doesn't say .jar at the end. If it does, delete that part and leave the .zip extension. Don't know why it does this sometimes, but it do. Then try installing again.
Edit: for misspelling

Oneplus 8 Pro DSU Loader Android 12 Beta

You can use the DSU Loader to test out android 12 beta on your Oneplus 8 Pro and most likely all Oneplus devices on Android 11.
Edit: Thanks to a friendly reminder I just received, for anyone who isn't using an 8 Pro and above this will either not work completely, freeze your device until you hard restart it or simply reboot and do weird things

For now, it doesn't load beta 12 as it should after testing for a few hours. You pretty much go back to stock OOS 11 and have very limited storage for anything so it doesn't work as intended and no performance issues either. Mostly a disappointment since no actuality beta 12 to test

Actually it does the thread looks like a route to android 12 yet when you get here you have to read several posts until you learn that it will cause problems..and that the reason of the thread is pointless.
So yes it does merit a change, it's borderline clickbait
Don't work on 7 or 7 pro
Although it supports treble project
But may be it doesn't support dynamic partitions
