Can change it in build.prop (not really sure how, haven't looked at the differences between the two models)
Can change the ROM of the device to that which comes with the A2003 (I think HydrogenOS to OxygenOS, assuming A2001 is the Chinese model)
But can you change the actual model number written on the phone or its box? No of course not, but you can change every other difference to represent the A2003. So essentially, yes you can. The hardware is identical anyway, so why would you want to? Unless you're talking about the modem frequency bands, then I have no idea how that works, whether it's hardware or simply a modem flash.. No idea.
Wait, is the A2001 the 16GB international model? There might be unexpected consequences if you pursue trying to change things to the 64GB. Like falsely reporting RAM size or storage space for example.. Just a thought.
Mine 64gb version. Its a chinese version. I see that asian model is a2003, and this a2001 is refering to chinese ver. But so far i doesnt have any problem using this chinese version in asia. I just wanna know is it possible or not.

i have a problem with band, Can I change the model from A2005 to A2003 to work with LTE ??
i dont think there'll be major problem if we're using the A2001 variant in asia. i've been using it without any problems so far.
off topic, i'm from Lahad Datu! nice to see someone from Sabah here.
You can't change the model version itself. There's slightly different hardware configuration to support different bands in different versions. You can change it in build.prop, but be aware that this change doesn't change the supported bands, it just displays another model version in settings.

hi to all, i see flosmall and others start to sell chinese version of opo2, what are the differences? i know os is different, but i can install oxygen os to chinese one? there are others hw differences? thanks
Last year I ordered opo from china. You can unlock bootloader & flash oxygen os.All you have to confirm the bands match with the bands available in your country

You can flash roms, but need to make sure the Bands are supported where you live. For the oneplus one people were able to unlock other bands. Maybe someone can unlock the bands on the Chinese version.
Chinese version is spied by chinese government. International is not.

It is dual sim, but apparently only has a single IMEI number, so can not be used with 2 sims outside China. Dual sim phones are pretty standard in China, they wouldn't remove such a key feature for that market.
The difference is the bands, especially 4G, and the OS. You can definitely flash OxygenOS as I have already done it. As for the bands, only time will tell.

The Chinese version is dual sim but only has 1 IMEI number hence outside China only one sim will work.
Can experts find a way to get over the same I know IMEI numbers are unique but there would be a way around it I am sure

The Chinese version will have very limited 4G compatibility in Europe and North America. More importantly, it only has one IMEI meaning you will not have dual-SIM capability outside of China. If you like having dual SIMs, do not buy the Chinese version.
So International version has 2 imei and dual sim support ?
Hi, I know that G928F is european and G928C is Asian. However, what exactly is the difference? I'm asking because previously the processors used to be different. However, Samsung have put the same processor in all of the Galaxy S6 Edge Plus.
P.S. Which GB did you get? 32GB or 64GB?

Mainly the Modem and the bands it supports is what's different between these models, at times companies also include Country specify features like LG G3 had TV antenna for Korea version, but that's rare. Apart from that if you buy it from a specific carrier they also might some say, for instance Samsung pay not working on Verizon models.
So, for the most part it's almost identical except modem.
I got 32 as 64 isn't available in my country (yet?) But boy I love this phone, killer looks and display with an awesome camera.

let me know
I just got G928G, and on it's box there's a sticker "American SIM card only". Does it mean that it wouldn't work in Ukraine?
Morning all,
Can you tell me what the differences between the Chinese, USA and European versions are likely to be?
I need a new phone so that I can stop using my wife's old iPhone and had planned on getting the Axon 7.
But if the UK release isn't going to be until Q4 then I'd be looking into importing from China but I'd want to know what I'm likely to get.
Cheers, Patrick.
The only different will be LTE bands and Single or Dual SIM shouldn't be much differences between versions.
I would suggest to wait for us release and buy then. English and cheaper price are guaranteed
Will the US version be dual sim?
Sent from my HUAWEI MT7-TL10 using Tapatalk
There is nothing anywhere that lists specifications indicating that there is any single sim version. If there was one it would surely have been mentioned somewhere but I haven't seen anything.
What are the differences between those two in terms of stock software?
Sent from my SM-G9200 using Tapatalk
Right do you really mean the Korean version or do you mean the H870DS as the two are different.
The Hong Kong Asian H870DS is much the same as the European model albeit it has dual SIM support and is currently unable to have it's bootloader unlocked.
It has 64gb and Quad Dac.
The Korean model is different in that it comes with a number of specific Korean apps that many of can neither be disabled or uninstalled. Only a few can be disabled. Likewise the dialer on the Korean model will show Korean characters below standard numerical digits, it also has dual clock on the Lock-screen because it consistently thinks it is roaming, so you have to use a work around to disable the dual clock from showing Korea. It also can have trouble with networks and international dial assist numbers as again it presumes the user is Korean and roaming, even with another country network SIM.
There are also parts of the GUI that remain in Korean such as sounds in settings.
Essentially the Korean model is NOT the one to get if you want clean software or not have a headache.
---
But you can get the Asian H870DS model as it does not suffer from those issues and comes with same language support and without the problems the Korean model has.
However if you plan to unlock the bootloader in the future, the EU H870 model would be a better buy, but software wise it's much same as the H870DS.

I need to have dual SIM support and 64gb. On auction which I'm following is written that, this is model H870DS and has DAC. I don't want to get that Korean software. How to check if it's the Asian model?

The H870DS is not the Korean model so you will not get the Korean software.
The model number for Korean model is G600L
If it's listed as H870DS you will be getting Taiwan/Hong Kong version with software much like the EU H870 but with the dual SIM, extra storage and Quad Dac.

Hi all,
I'm about to buy a G6 too and wonder which model to choose...
HK model (H870DS) is very interesting since we got double data storage and QuadDAC (and dual SIM but don't need it) for less than the European H870 model.
But...there's a but (and a big one), i'm a Nexus fan (Galaxy Nexus->Nexus 4->Nexus 5->Nexus 6->Nexus 6P->back to Nexus 6 cause of 6P battery issue) so i like stock Android and all flashing things. And H870DS bootloader can't be unlocked (and will never be from what i read about previous Gx models).
Recent Android interfaces/overlays are much lighter than before but I think I'll miss the possibility to flash all the things (did you say "flashaholic").
I think i could find a H870 in mint condition for the same price of a new H870DS but i would have full 2 years warranty.
Since we now have official TWRP, development will surely grow for G6.
Do you think Custom ROMs will handle well specific G6 HW like 18:9 screen ratio or Dual camera ?
Going to place order. Would like fingerprint to work. Is it easy to enable it on US model? Any downside? Or should I just get international version?
Sent from my SM-G900T using Tapatalk
I have us version. I flash german firmware and i have working fingerprint.
So flashing other firmware doesn't lose any functionality and keeps warranty?

Does German firmware supports (Volte) can i make call by using 4g network.

There should not be any hardware specific function loss. Each region might have slightly different kind of bundled software though, for example US firmware doesn't have battery care. Regarding to warranty, I'm not really sure. X compact is not sold in my country (I imported it), so I might have hard time dealing with warranty regardless.

Sorry, I don't know anything about this.
The German firmware supports VoLTE in Germany.
There are some slight differences. For example, Germany has a different set of frequencies for Wifi. In the 2.4Ghz range there are two additional channels (so no problems connecting in the U.S.). In the 5Ghz range there are broad differences in which channels may be used or not. I don't know if the firmware adapts to regulations of your current location when you use the phone in other places. If it doesn't, it might happen that you cannot use some 5Ghz APs.
