Will my firmware be regularly updated ? That's what in play for me.
I've tried to find the info, to no avail as of now.
Thank you very much.
You have KE7 firmware .
Multi European CSC .
Your phone is updated when the phone provider updates it ..
Connect to Kies to check for updates .

Thank you Jje. Difficult to check where I am vs the latest (kg1/kg2) ..always tricky with Samsung...cheers.
They should make some PDA/PHONE/CSC lookup script.

Your phone appears to be Hungary Unbranded version.
Hello Odia, you sure? If so, weird, I am in Paris! I fear that, as 2 years ago with the player Hd, i'll never will get the latest firmware! ;-(
Your CSC is OXX, which is the multiCSC version. If you want to check what you have and what is out in non-wipe firmware, Intratech's thread is excellent. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1075278

I want to change my CSC from KOR to TUR. I run Samsung Galaxy S / S2 CSC application but in CSC menu there isn't any option except for KOR (I want to install Turkish CSC, but TUR isn't on the menu):
I am using Frankenstein XWKJ3 and SiyahKernel v2.1. How can I install TUR CSC?
I have the norwegian version of the S5. Running a custom rom. And i want it completely back to stock.
But i have no idea how to manage doing it. I been at the samsung update page and tried to download, but the links dont work (Not even sure if it's the right one )
I'm running XtreStoLie V1.3.5
g900FXXU1AN8 baseband TEN
4.4.2 Kitkat
Could anyone help me find a link that workes? That i can download and flash with Odins? I tried both from Samsung update page, the one link do not generate a working link. and the other one just says "downloading" and est is 12-24 hours changing all the time..
Would really help me!!
Thanks alot!

Try this from Sammobile for Telnor
If you want a Generic Norwegian version change TEN in the firmware to NEE, you will need to register to download
Download the zip, extract the md5 and flash with Odin PDA

Just flash the latest NEE rom with Odin 3.09, then boot into recovery and data factory reset and see if the NEE csc file is loaded. If its not reflash the rom again with Odin and reboot and that should do it.

- Can you show your CSC? It is important thing to check when you want to download the firmware. Check your CSC with Phone INFO ★Samsung★ app.
- You can also open this Phone INFO ★Samsung★ app > Menu > 'Firmware Browser' to download the firmware for your device.
Hi,,
I went over to sammobile today to see if there's a newer ROM for my SM-G900F that'll kill the annoying "back cover" problem. However, there are a lot of different versions with different CSCs. How should I decide on which to use? Do they all contain English language? Will they all work with my provider given I apply the correct settings for internet/mms etc?
Also, are there any repositories with the latest pre-rooted firmwares?
Cheers,
Lars

Better use the stock firmware for your device (your CSC). Find stock firmware for your device by Phone INFO ★Samsung★ app > Menu > 'Firmware Browser'.
To flash firmware from another CSC, you have to make sure the PIT file are the same.
Regarding internet/mms settings, you can edit or add a new APN settings

Thanks,
It only displays the ANG2 firmware already on my phone, but I was hoping for ANG9 (or newer) as it might have fixed the extremely annoying back cover prompt. According to this ANG9 should be available for my country, but if I understand you correctly:
My phone has the following:
Baseband version: G900FXXU1ANG2
Phone INFO tells me my CSC code is "TEN", bootloader, baseband and PDA are "G900FXXU1ANG2" and CSC version is "G900FTEN1ANG2".
The latest one with my CSC (ANG2) from my country seems to be this one.
The latest one with another CSC (nordic - ANG9) seems to be this one.
This page claims ANG9 available for my country, but not branded - I haven't been able to find it, though.
Should I be fine installing the nordic version? I would assume so, but...you never know and I don't like bricks
Thanks again
Hello!
I have a quick question, I was searching around the web but still can't find how to identify the original ROM pre installed on my Samsung Galaxy Note 3.
I know that my device was made in Canada because is the version SM N900W8. And I had installed a ROM that I downloaded from sammobile.(Information added in the attachment), I upgrade it manually to the Android Version 4.4.3 and didn't save the information of the original one and at this very moment I'm having an issue with the "Android: GPS - Continuous Scanning or Unable to Fix/Lock Location". I tried solutions as http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2612757 but as far as I know this is related directly with the ROM that I had currently installed. I tried searching with the IMEI on http://www.imei.info/ and http://swappa.com/ but nothing related directly with the original ROM. Probably I'm missing some information regardless with the carrier that was made for, I'm currently located in Bogotá, Colombia.
Thanks in advance! :fingers-crossed:

Thank you so much for the reply. Great application +5 recommended. But it only shows me the information that I currently have installed (Trinidad y Tobago ROM) [Information Attached]- It had pre installed some ROM for a Canadian carrier, but for mistake I didn't save the information of it. What is the alternative method to double check what was the original one?
What you want, definitely can't be seen.
You can only see the version of the current installed rom.

Well, I work for HTC and in the tool that we use here. That is possible, it shows you all the information about the device. Baseband, rom version, date of installation, kernel source, lenght of download OTA. I tried to contact Samsung with out any good response for security policies.

It depends on how you installed the rom. Sometimes the Original CSC remains and can be obtained with Phone INFO ★Samsung★ app.
Ok try another way: install Kies, connect your phone to PC, go to Tools > Firmware Upgrade and Initialization, enter your Model name, then S/N. Kies will show you original firmware information.
Thank you! Question Resolved.

Thank you so much!! I really appreciate this. That was the information that I was looking for, now I know that my device is not from Canada, it was TELCEL Mexico, by the way is the same variant of the note 3 on Canada. :fingers-crossed::good: Now I hope I can fix the glitch with the GPS. (with the original ROM). I'm hoping now if the SIM unlock will remain if I do the forware upgrade and initialization from Kies.
phone info app
best way to know is install Phone Info App from playstore....it will give you complete details
Download mode shows your original Country code, no matter what CSC you flash
Turn off your phone, then press Volume Down + Bixby Button + Power button once for 4 seconds.
A blue screen will appear saying that do not flash non original firmware, press Volume Up.
A screen will come up saying at the top "ODIN MODE".
In this screen, you have some information about your device, but the one that we are intrested is a red line "CARRIER_ID: XXX"
That ID is your CSC code, no matter what firmware you install it on. Mine is PAN - the original - even though i currently have DBT installed.
and just press Volume Down + Power key for 7 seconds to restart to normal mode.
Your post is five years after question but more than that it does not apply to Note 3 .
Hey All,
I got a Note 3 N9005, which supposedly was purchased in UAE.
Currently trying to use it in India, but, the device always says "No Service", with a crossed circle instead of network signal icon on notification bar.
Phone is on 4.2.2 with UGNH1. Below are some observations:
- Phone does NOT ask for any PIN / Unlock Code.
- In Settings > Status.. irrespective of any SIM, or no SIM.. Mobile Network Type = Unknown, Service State= Out of service, Mobile Network State=Disconnected.
- Orig CSC code is displayed as XTC from Phone Info App
- Tried to select a different CSC from CSC Select app.. it changed the boot logo but, network status.. still crossed circle
- IMEI is proper as printed below the battery
- Still i tried ChainFire's RegionLockAway. But, as expected, the method is only for MI7 / MJ1 / MJ3 JB versions. Sadly mine has already crossed and has A2 bootloader. So, no change was observed with CF RegionLockAway. Reverted the cahnges.
- Tried to flash MJ1 / MJ3 binaries from sammobile. As expected the latest bootloader won't allow to downgrade.
- Flashed Omega, but for no luck. Still no service and crossed circle icon.
- Flashed latest CyanogenMod. Though there was no Crossed Circle icon, there was an icon of network signal with zero network.
- Flashed official Lollipop verson to see if any changes.. no luck. Reverted back.
- Installed advanced network info app, network status, neighboring MSC, cells.. etc was shown as none.
No clue how to enable the device's network capabilities (all else like WiFi and other feature work as usual).
It will be a great help if you can guide me through! Please let me know if any other info is required.
Thanks a lot in advance. !!
Purchased in UAE doesn't necessarily it was a UAE phone. Phone Info Samsung from Play Store can tell you where it is from.
What I would do is...
Download the firmware from Sammobile to suit your phone. One fairly common issue is that Hong Kong or Chinese phones get sold into Europe or other markets and their PIT and other partitions are different. So first thing is to go back to scratch.
If you phone IS from where you think, make sure you have the stock firmware for that location and flash the latest version using Odin and Download mode.
Start Odin - v3.09 is best.
To enter DL mode for anything to do with BL or Modem you MUST turn phone off. It is best to remove the battery and wait a while, then put it in and use the Power On+Vol-Down+Home key to get into DL mode, then [plug phone into PC and wait for Odin to notice it is there.
(if Odin doesn't notice it, get the latest Samsung USB drivers for the phone and install them with phone unplugged, then plug in phone and Windows should give a pop-up)
Click on AP in Odin and navigate to where you saved the firmware - note you DL'd a zip but you need the md5 file so use 7zip to unpack the zip.
Click on the md5 file and wait for it to load into Odin.
* [Auto Reboot] and [F.Reset Time] should be the ONLY things ticked.
Click [Start] and wait.
Let phone restart and set it up with your details. Once done see if you have network.

Thanks Journyman16 for the quickreply.
I installed the "Phone Info Samsung" app as you mentioned and found the phone's CSC code is XTC! (= Philippines (Open Line))!!
Thanks for the hint. I will download the latest firmware from sammobile for n98005 for XTC and check. Will be back with updates in some time.

Update:
Flashed below 3 stock firmwares from sammobile, each time cleared cache and factory wipe.. still the crossed circle is hopelessly adamant and persistent.
4.4.2 N9005XXUGNH1
4.4.2 N9005XXUGNI4
4.3 N9005XXUDMJ7 (failed to flash, i guess due to current bootloader version A3)
I tried with Odin 3.09.3 & 3.10.6 & 3.07 .... same result.
Any suggestions? please share.. I'm ok to soft brick the phone Recovered from boot loop few times
Any further suggestions? Please share.. Shall i give a try with full wipe (/system/ folder wipe) with TWRP ? Or any other thing ?!
Tried a different sim card ??
Checked APN settings .
Checked you have modem/ baseband via settings .

They are old stock ROMs - how sure are you the phone wasn't updated to the new version of BL? I'm not sure if you're on the new version and then try to downgrade it, which version you will see in Phone Info but check it. There's also a phone # code to use that returns the basics for the phone, but I can't recall if you said you get calls or not and I'm heading for bed. Think the code is something like *#12334#* - google for secret smartphone codes.

Yea Journyman16, they seem to be still good old of 4.4.2. Latest must be 5.0. On samobile, for XTC i could see only till 4.4.2. Maybe for this phone version, there are no updates? Not sure.
And, yes, sadly BL is updated to A3. Which I could see in Recovery mode's REV line. (if it was A1, I could have flashed MI7 and tried RegionLockAway.. )

I'd upgrade rather than try to get around the downgrade issues. What Region do you WANT to have? European ones seem to get early release of upgrades - e.g. many LP ROMs are based around the Polish release.
I don't know enough to interpret logs, but my thought would be to find a non-Philippines version (one of the Europe ones perhaps) and find a PIT file for that one. Then go read up on how to safely flash a new PIT. Then flash your preferred firmware and follow the root process etc.
I started with a HK version of S3 - every time I tried to flash a new ROM it failed and bricked my phone. Eventually I found that the PIT file on most Asian phones was different and I flashed PIT, then stock FW for the region I wanted then re-rooted and flashed the custom ROM.
Read many time, flash once, OK? I do not make bricks, nor need them, so I will not accept them delivered to my door...

There's a Euro PIT on the link at This Post - I checked and the dropbox is still valid. It's 4.4.2 so could be just what you need.
Now you probably want an India ROM but I haven't any links for that 0 there's a thread for India users though I think.
What I think might be happening is that different countries use different frequencies and formats for signal. It might be that India's set up simply doesn't work with the modem you've been using and the India ROM will not set up with the Asian PIT set up etc.
But read up on the process first, OK? The more you know about it the better chance you have to recover from anything going wrong.
Also, I presume from your OP that the phone NEVER worked once you got it? Do you know for a fact it worked prior to that? Maybe you're chasing solutions for a faulty hardware issue?

Hi Journyman16, thanks for the suggestions.. i tried the pit file you referred, but, still no luck. And, if i'm not wrong pit file is all about allocating ROM space for /system & /dbdata and has nothing to deal with the antenna/telephony module, please correct if i'm not right.
About the phone's status yea you're right. It never worked after i received it. But, it was working usually in UAE, as per the info i got. Maybe.. as you suspected.. it might be faulty hardware too.. I don't know.. just exploring the options.. to conclude something..

The only unbranded NH1's seem to be Greece or Netherlands. Netherlands has a 5.0 - maybe DL that and flash in Odin? Greece has a v5.0 but it's branded with (EUR) so I don't know if that's a company or general... I'd go the Netherlands one.
Other than that, I'm not sure - might be time to get the phone checked properly?
Finally.. could trace the root cause.. antenna / receiver chip malfunction. So, it was an hardware issue that had to be replaced at a cost at service center.
Summary: If network icon is crossed circle, its not a good sign !! Thanks
