After using the finger print scanner for the past three months on my lock screen it has suddenly locked me out. Says no match...I have used my backup password to get into the phone ok, but when I use the backup password to try and alter the screen security it will not accept it.
I have to use my backup password every time to access the phone.
Will I need to do a factory reset to solve this problem? Any help appreciated

I had to exchange my atrix for a new one after a line of dead pixels wouldn't leave my screen.
I copied all my storage from one to the other and then ran a restore from Titanium Backup.
My original phone was set with fingerprint reading (which worked great by the way) and of course the backup pin #.
Now when I turn on my screen it prompts immediately for the PIN...no lock screen at all. It did restore the PIN that I set on my original phone.
When I try to manage the lock screen (settings - loc and sec - change lock screen) it bounces over to the finger print reader setup and then bounces immediatley back.
Seems like I'm kind of stuck.
Any suggestions on how to get my lock screen back and finger print reading up and running without a system restore and limited (app only) restore for TiB?
Same problem

I have the exact same problem. I had a very long pin and I don't always like to have my phone secured when I'm working from home all day so its a big pain.
I don't want to go back and rebuild my whole phone again (SBF, root, CWM, Gingerblur 1.2, restore) so it would be nice if there was a way to reset it to just take the pin. My guess is the pin restored but not the fingerprint templates so the system is looking for them and failing.
If you use the search function, this has been discussed already. There is a line of code you can run to reset it.

Guys one noob question how can i unlock the device only with finger print? On oxygen2.2.1 I have that option available and on CM based ROMs just can't find it,tanks.
What do you mean with only FP? It's a safety feature to still be able to use on screen pattern since the FP sensor has a tendency to stop working from time to time under CM13 telling you the hardware is missing. Only being able to login using FP would lock you out of your phone in those moments. Also first time unlock after reboot requires patter unlock to verify it's you and not just a 3d rubber print out of your finger print. ?
The problemas was an APP called screen lock that I always use, after uninstalled it everything works fine now, thanks
Any work around yet for restoring a backup from a previous device and putting into a new device. I am in this boat due to my phone falling out of my pocket on a roller coaster and having a piece of wood go through it. Magically still turned on though. Anyways I am plagued with a successful restored backup on the new device and the finger print sensor will not work because the data is from the other original device.
Yes I made sure to delete the lockscreen.db before I booted it up. Everything works perfectly besides the fingerprint sensor and you cant set it back up. If you try it says "Enrollment was not completed. Fingerprint enrollment didn't work. Try again or use a different finger." Also says "fingerprint sensor not available" at the lock screen. If you wipe data then it will allow you to reset it and it works great. My question is does anyone know what needs to be removed or deleted to allow you to use this nexus print feature again? Thanks in advanced.
Suffering the same problem; did you get anywhere?
Probably not. Just have to factory reset. It's not that bad...
By default we have 5 attempts, how do I increase that? Because many times it does not recognise my fingerprint and I've come to the last attempt many times. Luckily it recognized my fingerprint on the last try. What would happen if all attempts were used? I don't want to try since I am travelling and don't want to lock myself out if that is what happens.
You can not lock the device on this way... Fingerprint works with PIN or password lock.
When you can not unlock with fingerprint, unlock it with PIN or password, delete that fingerprint ID and make new one (or two different of both hands) in optimal condition.
In my case fingerprint work fine, 99% at first attempt...
Hi everyone,
I notice that I can bypass my fingerprintsensor with tapping 3 times with the wrong finger on it and after the third time, the phone is unlocked.
I am on the last stock oxygenOS.
Does somebody else have this bug?
No.
No.
Yes I found that since the 1st day.
Now I tried twice with with a unregistered finger with the 3rd try another unregistered finger and it is unlocked!!!!
not all the time.

Doesn't happen to me. Have you got a pattern enabled?
After 3 failed finger print attempts the phone prompts for a pattern.
After testing, I was shocked to see that this worked on my phone...but after a little testing, it only unlocks on the third attempt when the phone has a smartlock device connected and doesn't require a PIN anyways.
If I turn Bluetooth off, the third wrong finger button press simply turns on the screen and asks for my PIN.

Smartlock was the key here!
I turned trusted places "home" off and on the 3rd try asked for the pin code.
So basically if I'm in trusted places or connected to a trusted device after 3 consecutive failed fingerprints it will open my phone without pin code

I think that's the point of smart Lock... ? So you don't have to unlock even with FP. Just swipe up and it should unlock...
That is interesting. Would only work around safety devices/places?
