Hi all!
I have a (noob?) problem, I can't include all the dependences necessary to modify the android messaging application (Mms.apk).
I've installed Eclipse and all the "android stuff" (emulators and so on...) and cloned the mms source code from GIT but, when I import the existing project, I've an error with the "com.google.*" packages, eclipse doesn't find them!
I figure out that the only packages that are avaible with my SDK installation are the "com.android.*" ones...
There is something missing...
Can anyone help me?

I have also the same problem in my android htc mobile also the file for playing are not supported for some format.

I was thinking about creating an open source project, to build a rom where everybody can help.
I think this is missing at XDA because only the dev’s cook and the users test. I think there should be more interaction.
So, if you are interested then:
1. Tell me
2. Suggest some ideas
3. Which website would be best to hold all the code and unfinished pieces.
4. Tell everybody.
I still think if all the Users and dev's would work together, great could be achieved.

I've been working on a Nexus ROM and would really like to get a few team mates to help me really push the ROM and get it to a stage which is viable for public release.
I'm looking for a team as follows:
Devs:
Could do with a joint lead dev to work alongside me.
Perhaps a dev or two working on things such as Aroma/scripts/Build.prop etc.
Themer:
Only really need one themer
Perhaps a GFX designer?
Testers:
Need one LEAD tester, which will get the test ROM FIRST!!!!
Maybe a second tester to make sure?
Anybody interested in joining my team and creating another wonderful ROM?

I'm interested in this dev world focused on Android ROMs. However, I'm far way to be an expert and I need some help to start.
- I've successfully built an Omni ROM nightly (homemade) by myself.
- I created a new project in Eclipse, pointing to ~/android/omni
- When I run the project I got some errors and different errors if I run with JUnit3 or 4 (what should I use?)
- How do I run this project in an emulator?
I didn't find much about those questions, mostly about developing apps or building ROMs.

I am currently developing a PC manager as i miss android commander and i am sick of the bloated software out there. Im making it in C#.
As im not the best programmer i will be making it open source and would love some help if anyone can help out ?
If there is interest please let me know ill post some screenshots of what i have so far later today (just at work atm so polishing up the GUI as much as possible)
My aim is to make it to work like a new version of android commander to work with all devices.
I will need all the help i can get as i say im not a professional programmer but i want to challenge myself and would lve people to join in / help develop this
