Hi,
i dont own a galaxy s5 but my buddy forgot the alternate password. and the fingerprint scanner is not working either.
can you tell me what the easiest way to get the phone working again?
we dont need any data to be backed up... it just has to work again.
root? factory reset ?
is a factory reset possible when the phone is locked via fingerprint scanner or password ?
thanks
Boot to recovery (Volume Up & Home & Power) from a powered off state
Factory reset and hope reactivation lock was not enabled
if it was, you'll need to flash a stock KitKat ROM to disable it

I bought a Samsung Galaxy S3 Neo i9301i from Italy without any service offer. But i use it in Bangladesh. When i tried to use that phone here it say's to give a pin code for network lock. I went to nearest local service center and they unlock the phone in some way but i can't use my Swipe, Pattern lock . I can only use password. It is very painful giving password every time. Here is a screenshot of my lock screen. Can anyone help me about this matter?
Hmm seems that your device is encrypted.. dont know why it disabled features for you.. i suggest wiping data/ factory reset over recovery mode ( vol up + home + power ) to see if it will help. Note that this will remove everythign from your phone so backup important data
Maybe because in Italy is Locked, but i don't think that has to do...
Horrible english but i'm italian

I have already tried that too. It say's Pattern lock, swipe and other's lock system are disabled by administrators, credential manage or encryption policy. Please see my uploaded image

Thanks for your reply. Yes, I had encrypted my phone. Do you know anything about if i do factory reset/wiping data, will it show again a network lock? If it become network lock again it will cost me about 20$

Well, if factory reset does not solve your problem, the alternative that I can think of is to use ODIN to flash stock firmware.
Thanks all for reply. I just solved the problem. It was happening for encrypting my device. After decrypting my device the problem is solved
I've forgotten my passcode and can't remember, I can't find a bootloader (recovery menu) to factory reset it and the forgot password option that's on most android devices isn't there what should I do? Is there any alternative way to get access to my device or factory reset it?

did anyone solve this???
I have the same problem.
Hi everyone,
Sorry if this has been answered before but I've done some serious searching and can't find anything. I've found my old S5 to which I've forgotten the lockscreen pin. I would normally reset it using my Google account but I no longer have a sim that fits nor can I set up a new WiFi connection without access to the settings.
The device is not rooted nor do I think ISB debugging is enabled.
Thanks in advance!

Thanks, I should have made a note that I'm hoping not to have to reset it. I'd much rather be able to access it to see if I have left anything important on there.
If you flashed TWRP you might be able to wipe the security via recovery - but the security is there to prevent exactly what you are trying to do, so it won't be a couple of buttons to press
iirc, you have to adb in from recovery or something, but never done it myself
Flash TWRP with ODIN and have a google on removing lock screen security from TWRP
Or buy a SIM for £1 and top it up £5 (Or whatever your countries £ is
EDIT - Could give this a try

Make a backup in TWRP first (Could always restore the data side of the backup with TiBu after resetting which would ignore the lock I imagine)
So, i am running offical 6.0.1 rom. Today i had low battery, so i turned on the Ultra power saving mode and turned off the phone. Next time i opened it, it was still at the power saving mode and it had shutdown my Google keyboard and now the google now talking thing was the default kb. And i need to first put the password before using the fingerprint. I cant. Is there any way to install some keyboard to get password written. I know that i can factory reset, but i have autenthicators and important files inside. I have rooted and installed TWRP.
EDIT: I flashed samsung keyboard with TWRP and got it working.
Found this for bypassing the fingerprint, not sure if it still works with MM
Delete the template.db in /data/validity from TWRP

Hi, my sister somehow forgot the graphical key, so phone is now locked. of course it is not a stolen phone , i do keep all the documents proving that it was bought.
So, all the articles point me to use TWRP recovery or similar, but to flash the twrp onto phone i first need to enable USB debugging and unlock bootloader but since phone is locked i can't get to developer setting ....
So, any solution to this? Any help greatly appreciated!
p.s. tried flashing TwRP and aroma zips from microsd flash with no success ( permission error = blocked bootloader?)
u need to unlock bootloader first and if data recovery is avoidable the simply reset device via booting into recovery via power + volume down button
u can simply unlock bootloader via asus official unlock tool without using pc,just a apk to install and use

but some people say it is possible to just do wipe data operation to unlock graphical key. I don't understand why it doesn't work in my case..
Since Asus stock rom is encrypted.. .there could be hardly any way to recovery data without twrp or only using phone system.

But there is no need to save any data. Just need to remove pattern lock...
I seen youtube videos of how people just do wipe data reset in stock recovery and after reboot pattern lock is gone. Not in my case! why is that?
