Solution for soft-bricked N9005 after flashing Hong Kong's TGY firmware

I am posting this to help people who ran across the same problem I did the past 24 hours, which drove me crazy and it was quite difficult to find any info on it.
I bought my N9005 on eBay from a Hong Kong seller. I just updated it with Kies and noticed that sammobile.com has a newer MJ8 firmware, so I figured I'd just download it and flash it via Odin.
Kies shows my mobile as XME (Malaysia region), but I guessed it should work just fine, and boy was I wrong.
Moments after trying to flash it, it failed, but it did manage to flash the beginning of the firmware, which was the new MJ bootloader. That newer bootloader does not allow any other firmware with older bootloader be flashed on the phone. Not even Kies's emergency recovery was able to revive my phone which was stuck in emergency download mode.
When trying to flash I got all sorts of errors, such as:
invalid ext4 image
and
CHECK FAIL : fused : 2 , Binary : 1. (when trying to install the older XME Malaysian Firmware on top of the new bootloader)
To make a very long story short, after almost giving up and start waiting for a Malaysian firmware with the new bootloader to be released, I ran across the UK MJ6 BTU rom which does have the new bootloader too and decided to try flashing it. To my amazement - this worked and my phone is back to life! phewwwww!
This is a download link to the BTU MJ6 firmware:

my brick story in short is------ brought note 3 sm-n9005 from ebay from a Hong Kong based seller. pics of ap, cp and csc are attached. rooted with chainfire's and installed cwm6 by chenglu. A few days back, flashed bobcat rom version 2(mj7) and later 3( mk2 ) without problems. Was looking for different themes .yesterday flashed balckchrome from s4 forum that also went smooth. Unfortunatly flashed another theme for s4 which was not meant for andriod version 4.3. Pretty stupid .went into bootloop. Had nandroid backup tried to restore but couldn't.
Flashed another rom mk2 from cwm. again bootloop .took the odin route and flashed stock deodesk mj7 by Djembey from this thread.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=2461929
Failed again. Then downloaded latest mk2 from sammobile website. The same error (invalid ext4 img) in short failed on all ccounts. Have run out of options. The last thing in mind is to wait for some new bootloader after mk2 which might rescue me as mentioned in this thread that new bootloaders might help... Any guidance will be appreciated. Thanks
@pyarajaani
Try this:
1) Get X-Note v6 custom rom.
2) Use Odin to install CWM recovery.
3) boot the phone into CWM recovery and copy the X-NOTE rom (MK2 based) to your phone or card.
4) Do a complete wipe/factory-reset from CWM
5) Install the X-NOTE rom from CWM
And let me know how it went

Why did you suggest X-Note but not another ROM?
3 reasons:
- It's MK2 based
- I am using it
- It's excellent
And besides, if the method I suggested works, he can always replace a ROM later on if he wishes.

Nope, I didnt mean what is the best rom to use.
The problem is that how to bypass the bootloop issue.

No need to mess with kernels.
Were u able to install cwm via odin and then boot into cwm?

yes...I did that n installed X note rom from cwm. BUT I suspect that cwm is not fully functional. Why I m saying this is that I have a nandroid backup of bobcat mj7 rom...which cwm isn't able to detect even. ..nevertheless. .cwm is installed.
1) Which CWM version do you have installed?
2) Did you do a full wipe/factory-reset?
3) Did you try also advanced formatting (of system partition together with the full wipe) and then install the ROM?
4) Did you try all the above with the latest TWRP recovery instead of CWM?
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2467255
Try to flash this file by cwm first and then flash any rom after you want

Alright, now that my n910g is stuck with that I tried installing some nameless rom and the screen doesn't really work. I need to use Spen always even to click on the dial button.
Can you suggest any good rom for Note 4 N910g?
I really need to give my phone a fresh start as this will be my first time to flash my phone.
Please help!!
Listen, Dr. Ketan's note 5 port L12 with S6 edge features is based on android 5.1.1 Australian "COH4" baseband version. So first download and install that stock firmware having COH4 baseband version using odin. Here's the link for that: www.sammobile.com/firmwares/download/56424/N910GDTU1COH4_N910GXSA1COH4_XSA/
And after installing this, root your phone, then install CWM recovery and install dr. Ketan's L12 version rom which you have downloaded. Your phone will work fine after that.
Baseband version of your phone plays a very important role in determining which rom you can install on your phone. For example if u liked and downloaded a samsung stock modified custom rom that has baseband version say "PQR" and suppose if your phone has baseband version "XYZ" then you cannot install that rom on your phone. To install that rom you will first need to flash the stock rom of PQR baseband version in Odin. To check which baseband version your phone is running, go to (settings >> about phone/device >> baseband version). Look at the last 3 or 4 alphabets.

Did you try my method? Did it work?
Used coh4 baseband which you said. But could not find the proper root file. Please help with the root and cwm files for 910g which work. Then i will try flashing dr.ketan rom
Yes I tried, now I am using the same baseband you have mentioned which is Australian, now the touch doesn't work well but with s pen it works fine. What to do ?>

Downloaded the stock from from sammobile and my phone was able to boot successfully. But the problem is that ever since, I tried flashing twrp recovery to flash dr.ketan rom which did not work. My phone's touch is really not working well. I have enabled touches in developer options and confirm that my s-pen works fine but when I touch the phone, it gets detected 1 cm below where I actually touch. This problem might have been created when I flashed twrp recovery because that was the first time I saw this issue.
Please help how to fix this ?

Need Guidance...

Hey guys,
I'm going to install a custom ROM today to see if that maybe fixes my SensorHub not working. I just need guidance on the correct procedure. I have a SM-N900 model (N900XXUEBOL2) running Lollipop 5.0. Do I first need to root, or can I install a custom ROM straight from the stock recovery? It seems like there aren't may ROMS available for the SM-900 model, but I've found one that seems to have good battery life and performance: TR-ROM. This is the procedure I will follow:
1) Root phone with CF-Auto-Root-ha3g-ha3gxx-smn900.zip
2) Use ODIN to flash n900-cwm-recovery-6.0.5.0-kk_L5.0(0812).tar
3) Flash TR-ROM from CWM: TR-ROM XDA
Is this all correct? I just want to make sure that I don't brick my phone!
Also, how can I revert back to stock if I need to?
Thanks so much!!!

OK. ..so are the 3 steps I mentioned above correct?
http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-note-3/general/guide-root-note-3-sm-n900-5-0-install-t3069670
I'm trying to follow that guide, but the build number of N900 on the CF-Root site says:
LRX21V.N900XXUEBOA6
Whereas mine is:
N900XXUEBOL2
Will is still work? Also, it says a locked bootloader will probably brick your device. How do I check if mine is locked?
I've rooted and installed custom roms on many devices before - I'm not sure why rooting and installing custom rom on the Note 3 is so daunting...
Google?

I wouldn't be asking here if I hadn't already Google'd extensively.
But of course... The phone is brand new, so there's no info yet available. I understand...
Yes, do as you wrote in the first post. Should be ok, as those are the latest files.
Sent from my Note 3 running Purify CM13
I'm finding that there is actually TOO much information (too many variables). That's why I'm asking specifically about my version, as I can't seem to get my head around it - and rather than brick my phone, I'm merely seeking a bit of guidance from someone more experienced than me. In the past, when I was rooting previous phones, I received a lot of useful information and help from XDA - but it seems like now all I'm getting are sarcastic remarks and general unfriendliness. Why is that?
You have N900 its an exynos model not the qualcom .Not something that has a big following on here .
The links in your post point to zips , whats the point of me downloading a zip ??
CF autoroot you need to read the instructions regarding builds .
Locked boot loader no idea for that model .
CWM yes flash via Odin if its the correct one for your model .
Flash rom yes the rom will give you the method .

Correct flash order for rooting a stock firmware?

Hi guys
I recently moved to the note 4 910F from another device.
As I have always favored custom roms ( regardless if I was using a samsung or LG or another brand device ).
The problem I am facing now is that the xda Note4 forum seems to be incredibly messed up. There are literally tens of threads with useless information and whole new threads just for one download link or something.
If someone new like me comes to the Note 4 forum he will not know where to start. The previoux device I used had a beautifully organized XDA section.
Anyway. What I did until now was to flash :
1. flashed cf-root over the stock firmware and verified that it worked
2. installed busybox
3. tried to install TWRP as I have always used it . But , Their page said to make sure I have the correct bootloader installed.
So, I got back to the rom page that I wanted to use and the dev had links there for the correct bootloader and modem. Downloaded and flashed them with odin. Now my device was restarting every 1 minute or so and I no longer had any IMEI and baseband version was unknown
I fixed it by flasks the stock firmware with odin
Can you guys help me out with some correct information on how to be able to flash a custom rom ? I know how to root it but what bootloader do I need in order to install the custom recovery and flash a new rom ?
Thank you in advance.

Problem rooting G710

Hey guys, can you help me? I'm having a big trouble with my Grand 2
(Sorry for my crappy English, Spanish is my first language, so I can't speak English very well)
Here's the problem: I recently got a Grand 2 G710 (Single SIM), it's a cool phone but I want to root it, install a Custom Recovery and flash it a custom ROM, but since I was looking for the files for my phone, I discovered something weird, the codename for the Single SIM variant is "ms013g" but in my phone appears as "ms013gss" and to be honest, I didn't try to root it because two reasons:
1) The CF flashable zip file is supposed to be used on a phone with KitKat firmware, but mine is on Jelly Bean and I can't update it because this is the latest update released by the carrier and when I try to update it via OTA, it says the latest update is installed.
2) I can't find a root method for the JB firmware
Also, I'm checking the latest ROMS Released for the Grand 2, but mostly of the custom ROMS are for the G7102, I don't know if there's ROMS for the G710 or you can use the same ROMS for the G7102, so please, if there's someone who can help me with this, I would be very thankful for your help, I know some things about flashing ROMS on Samsung devices, so you can skip the basic things.
I attached some screenshots of some information from my phone which it would be helpful.
Thanks in advance

Ill help you with some research more ROMs for youre G710
Commonly grand2 devices are sm g7102 so its really hard when you dont have the model. Also im gonna research root methods for youre phone, its the most important common thing you need.
---------- Post added at 11:29 AM ---------- Previous post was at 11:13 AM ----------
Update: Since youre in grand 2 and you have custom recovery installed. Try downloading the supersu zip file from the chainfire website (it has updates so check the latest one), go to custom recovery, flash the zip file like you flashed the roms and youre done.
