S5 G900F HSPA Data Network Error!! - Galaxy S 5 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Dear forum members!
1) I got S5 G900F Model with lollipop installed from my friend.
2) He give it to me because it will not receive WCDMA Signals at all. When it switches to WCDMA it will not capable to make voice calls and notification panel shows Emergency Calls Only.
3)It's fully functionalwith GSM Calls and EDGE data
It had G900FXXU1BOH4 Firmware !!!
Then i downgraded it to KitKat firmware version G900FXXU1ANE2_G900FODD1AND2
Now it works with GSM Calls, EDGE and with WCDMA But Only Calls in WCDMA mode.
It will get H+ Indication for few seconds but Never receives data. Browser shows up DNS Lookup error. But SIM is fully functional
So any Experts here to guide me right path???
Because i think it's messed with MODEM firmware or something.

My i9505 only connect to GSM network (Only 2g mode) After switching to auto connect (2g and 3g) mode or 3g only mode, phone doesn't register on network. (but showing some of signal bars) emergency calls only. no Data.
When using WCDMA only mode, some time phone showing H sign and connecting to Data network for 1 or 2 min. But again switch to emergency calls only
On 2G only (EDGE) mod phone work perfectly DATA and Voice calls.
Phone has original IMEI and new KNOX boot loader
I've tried the following tasks : not fixed the issue
Changing stock rom to from 4.2.2 to 4.3 and 4.4.2
Flashing custom roms (Slimkat)
Flashed Modems : ModemXXUEMFK_BMH1, I9505XXUEMKE-MODEM, I9505_ZHUDMH6_MODEM, I9505_DVUBMG1_MODEM, I9505XXUEMK9_MODEM and more...
Please help :
I have same issue from 2 daya ago
Switching to cm .. flashing different modems .... back to stock .... no use
I notice the tower where I receive signal from has changed , it has different location id number now
I even switch to many locations but still same
Where u live ?
Service provider ? I didn't bother to call , will wait a couple of days more it may get fixed
Sent from dish washer
could u fix it? method pls
Is your phone carrier-locked?
Because certain phones can't access 3G/4G if it's carrier-locked.
Where do you live and what service provider do you use? Try changing between service providers to see if you can access 3G/4G with one of those providers.

[Q] Galaxy S5 (G900F) LTE Only Mode

Hello,
i want ask if its normal that LTE Only mode on my Samsung Galaxy S5 disables ability to use calls.
I have problem because my S5 is using mostly H or H+ connection in locations where LTE is available. When i choose LTE band preference it connects to LTE but voice calls dont work. When i choose LTE/WCDMA or LTE/GSM voice calls are working but after call its conneted to H or H+ again. It never prefer LTE.
What's wrong. Do you have same problem?
I've seen this kind of posts a few times already but there is not actual solution for that. Probably the problem is ( and there is very high chance of that) that your carrier says it is enabled LTE but they have bad infrastructure. And phone is always trying to connect on more stable connection and that's why you see LTE for a short period or whatever it is.
Hi,
LTE is actually only for data so if you had set LTE only mode wouldn't be able to make a call.
Thanks, any other questions?

No network/service only on 3G/H+

Hi guys, first af all sorry for my english, i'll make it quick.
My galaxy note 3 (custom rom, last bootloader and modem flashed, imei is right and confirmed by my carrier that is not blacklisted) find network/service and i can make calls ONLY when is on 4G/LTE. If i'm in a place where there is only 3G H+, it says not registered on network, i cannot do calls (emergency calls work) but the most amazing thing is that i have the typical no service icon, on his right there is 3G or H+ symbol and mobile internet works!!!
How that is possible? I cannot do calls but mobile internet works -.-
I tried everything i found on this forum, advice?
Thanks.

N900L Network Data Issues LTE GSM WCDMA no automatic switching

READ THE [UPDATE] DOWN BELOW
Many Note3 Korean Variant users also reported this case
https://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2484602&page=115
The problem is that, I can't connect to LTE without losing my Network Radio Service Connection. I can connect to E/G/3G/H/H+ and still have network service, so I can still make calls and text messages, but when I turn on my Mobile Data, when it tries to connect to LTE, suddenly my service gets diconnected and I can't make phone calls nor messages though I could still use the data. I've already tried 3 LTE-Capable SIMS but the issue still happens.
What I had in mind is that it might be because it is Carrier Locked since it is a Korean Variant, but the problem still persists even after flasing other custom roms (this includes Note 7 Port ROMS, LineageOS, Stock-Based ROMS).
I love my Note 3, I will do anything to keep it alive, but still this one problem keeps bugging me...
Why can't I use both LTE data connection and radio service connection simultaneously?
Is anyone out there knowledge and willing enough to help us Note 3 KV users with this issue? :crying:
[UPDATE]
I get it now, when a phone is using LTE it means its not connected to any Mobile Network Service, instead it is connected to Data Network Service, yet it should receive Phone calls and Messages but it means that the phone will disconnect to LTE and switch to GSM/WCDMA (E/G/H/3G/H+) to be able to recieve the incoming call or message. I've tried that with my friends' phones, The first phone is connected to Data and is using LTE and the other phone is trying to call the first phone. The moment I call the first phone, I noticed that the LTE icon dropped to H and then recieve the call, It only happened because the option selected on the "Network Mode" (under Settings/More Networks/Mobile Networks-->Network Mode) is [LTE/WCDMA/GSM auto connect] so that's how it works
But that doesn't happen to my phone, after turning off the Mobile Data (I was connected to LTE btw) my phone doesn't automatically connect to GSM nor WCDMA network, it just stay on LTE mode and I have to manually select the GSM/WCDMA option in order to get Network Service.
So my final question is Why doesn't my Note 3 automatically switches Network Mode?
Note 3
Model Number: N900L
Status: Rooted with Custom Note 7 Port ROM

Please start to read about LTE technology and its frenquency bands.
Then find answers to these questions :
1- My SM-N900L is locked to use which frequency bands ?
2- Wich bands are in use in my actual location (country) ?
3- Is it possible to unlock more frequency bands for my N900L ?
i can provide more help if things remains not clear enough.
Good luck :good:

I tried searching the supported LTE bands of N900L but I can't find any sites that tell exactly what the N900L actually supports though I found out on this forum
https://www.frequencycheck.com/models/AZzWA/samsung-sm-n900s-galaxy-note-3-lte-a
1) A / P / T / V models are made exclusively for the US operator market and for no other people, as their indexes hint (A-AT & T / P-SPRINT / T-MOBILE / V-VERIZON). In Europe, mainly international versions are used - in the case of NOTE 3 - exclusively N9005, in Canada - its own carrier versions.
2) The models N900S / N900K / N900L are identical in the set of supported frequencies. If you rewind the topic on page 9, you will see screenshots of one of these models, which show the frequencies you are using, in one of the screens you will see the treasured frequency of LTE b7. I think that users of this topic can be trusted with respect to information in the topic, but no one has elected you the right to believe solely on the site www.frequencycheck.com.

I did try checking my phone on www.frequencycheck.com, N900L is not on the list..
https://www.frequencycheck.com/models/AZzWA/samsung-sm-n900s-galaxy-note-3-lte-a
N900S though shows that it supports Bands 3, 5, and 17.
I also look it up on wikipedia on where the SMART network (my current network) falls on the list of LTE frequency bands, and it shows that it is on Band 05 alongside with South Korean Networks LGU+ and SKT. The supported LTE bands on my country are Band 1, 3, 5, 7, 28 and 41
https://www.frequencycheck.com/countries/philippines
I searched for how to unlock all LTE frequency bands on N900L or Korean Variants or Note 3 but the only option that shows up is by accessing the Service Menu on Stock ROM and manually changing the values, which still didn't work for me.
According to my search, N900L is locked to :
LTE protocol : B1 (2100) and B5 (850)
LTE-A protocol : B3 (1800) and B7 (2600)
Now try to find the specific frequency band used by your carrier (he can't use all of the six available bands in Philippines), and activate it.
Wich stock firmware do you use when trying to access Service Mode ? It must be the LGU+ one.
And what code did you dial for the same purpose ?

When you said activate, you mean select the band to be used by the phone right?
- Yes, I used the LGU+ Lollipop Stock ROM
- I typed in the dialpad, *#0011# and changed the network preference to LTE ONLY.

I mean activate only the LTE's frquency band used by your carrier.
Check your PM.

I've already done that, but the problem with radio service network is still present, I can't make or receive any phones calls nor messages.

J730F (DUOS) Network SIM1 LTE Error

J730F
current ROM: RR-O-v6.1.0
Hello community,
I have a network connection problem:
No matter with which ROM - except the official Samsung 8.1 - I can not select an LTE mode on SIM slot 1. Although LTE is always preferred in the connection properties, it always stays in H + or EDGE. Even about the * *#*#4636#*#* function and and there "LTE Only" or "LTE / UMTS auto (PRL)" does not work. The mode in SIM1 remains in HSDPA or EDGE. It only switches to the respective mode if I set GSM only or WCDMA only. Then he also changes the net type. LTE does not work here. Although LTE is present - because with the original Sasmung8.1 floor works the conversion - the only error: after a restart is always WCDMA preferred in it.
I can use different Custom ROm (everything formally properly formatted before) - no ROM works.
The 2nd problem: on SIM2 slot no incoming calls go. Call can be accepted, but no sound is heard - but I call with SIM2 everything is as usual without error.
What do you have for tips?
