Many Note3 Korean Variant users also reported this case
https://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2484602&page=115
The problem is that, I can't connect to LTE without losing my Network Radio Service Connection. I can connect to E/G/3G/H/H+ and still have network service, so I can still make calls and text messages, but when I turn on my Mobile Data, when it tries to connect to LTE, suddenly my service gets diconnected and I can't make phone calls nor messages though I could still use the data. I've already tried 3 LTE-Capable SIMS but the issue still happens.
What I had in mind is that it might be because it is Carrier Locked since it is a Korean Variant, but the problem still persists even after flasing other custom roms (this includes Note 7 Port ROMS, LineageOS, Stock-Based ROMS).
I love my Note 3, I will do anything to keep it alive, but still this one problem keeps bugging me...
Why can't I use both LTE data connection and radio service connection simultaneously?
Is anyone out there knowledge and willing enough to help us Note 3 KV users with this issue? :crying:
[UPDATE]
I get it now, when a phone is using LTE it means its not connected to any Mobile Network Service, instead it is connected to Data Network Service, yet it should receive Phone calls and Messages but it means that the phone will disconnect to LTE and switch to GSM/WCDMA (E/G/H/3G/H+) to be able to recieve the incoming call or message. I've tried that with my friends' phones, The first phone is connected to Data and is using LTE and the other phone is trying to call the first phone. The moment I call the first phone, I noticed that the LTE icon dropped to H and then recieve the call, It only happened because the option selected on the "Network Mode" (under Settings/More Networks/Mobile Networks-->Network Mode) is [LTE/WCDMA/GSM auto connect] so that's how it works
But that doesn't happen to my phone, after turning off the Mobile Data (I was connected to LTE btw) my phone doesn't automatically connect to GSM nor WCDMA network, it just stay on LTE mode and I have to manually select the GSM/WCDMA option in order to get Network Service.
So my final question is Why doesn't my Note 3 automatically switches Network Mode?

Please start to read about LTE technology and its frenquency bands.
Then find answers to these questions :
1- My SM-N900L is locked to use which frequency bands ?
2- Wich bands are in use in my actual location (country) ?
3- Is it possible to unlock more frequency bands for my N900L ?
i can provide more help if things remains not clear enough.
Good luck :good:

I tried searching the supported LTE bands of N900L but I can't find any sites that tell exactly what the N900L actually supports though I found out on this forum
https://www.frequencycheck.com/models/AZzWA/samsung-sm-n900s-galaxy-note-3-lte-a
1) A / P / T / V models are made exclusively for the US operator market and for no other people, as their indexes hint (A-AT & T / P-SPRINT / T-MOBILE / V-VERIZON). In Europe, mainly international versions are used - in the case of NOTE 3 - exclusively N9005, in Canada - its own carrier versions.
2) The models N900S / N900K / N900L are identical in the set of supported frequencies. If you rewind the topic on page 9, you will see screenshots of one of these models, which show the frequencies you are using, in one of the screens you will see the treasured frequency of LTE b7. I think that users of this topic can be trusted with respect to information in the topic, but no one has elected you the right to believe solely on the site www.frequencycheck.com.

I did try checking my phone on www.frequencycheck.com, N900L is not on the list..
https://www.frequencycheck.com/models/AZzWA/samsung-sm-n900s-galaxy-note-3-lte-a
N900S though shows that it supports Bands 3, 5, and 17.
I also look it up on wikipedia on where the SMART network (my current network) falls on the list of LTE frequency bands, and it shows that it is on Band 05 alongside with South Korean Networks LGU+ and SKT. The supported LTE bands on my country are Band 1, 3, 5, 7, 28 and 41
https://www.frequencycheck.com/countries/philippines
I searched for how to unlock all LTE frequency bands on N900L or Korean Variants or Note 3 but the only option that shows up is by accessing the Service Menu on Stock ROM and manually changing the values, which still didn't work for me.
According to my search, N900L is locked to :
LTE protocol : B1 (2100) and B5 (850)
LTE-A protocol : B3 (1800) and B7 (2600)
Now try to find the specific frequency band used by your carrier (he can't use all of the six available bands in Philippines), and activate it.
Wich stock firmware do you use when trying to access Service Mode ? It must be the LGU+ one.
And what code did you dial for the same purpose ?

When you said activate, you mean select the band to be used by the phone right?
- Yes, I used the LGU+ Lollipop Stock ROM
- I typed in the dialpad, *#0011# and changed the network preference to LTE ONLY.

Hello ,
I bought a SM900F from UK a while ago and it was unlocked. I was capable of using 4G network there easily with no problems, but recently I have come to Dubai and am not able to hop on the 4G network . I have checked all the settings and made sure I had the 4G sim/ 4G data bundle and so on , but still same problem.
As per Wiki : Etisalat United Arab Emirates 1800 3 FDD September 2011 [500]

My operator provides 4G on 1800 and 2600 Frequencies which are supported by SM900F. Just to clarify , this unit had never been locked .
So now im sitting here confused on what I need to do to get my 4G working , Im always connected to H and H+ .
Thanks in Advance ,

Thanks for the reply ,
I have done that but still no hope

Your phone should support those LTE bands.
Confirm that the band /frequency information isn't outdated.
Are you in an area where the carrier doesn't have LTE coverage?
Open a support ticket to investigate if the carrier has provisioned your account /SIM correctly for LTE.
Look at the various online forums and find out if others are getting LTE in your location.
Set what the LTE signal strength is in the S5 service menu.
Set a preference for LTE in the service menu.
Possibly you are getting 4G, bit the onscreen icon is just incorrect?
Try updating or changing your 900F modem.

Thanks for the swift response mate ,
1) Band/Frequency are all compatible with the phone
2) The whole city is LTE covered ( specially mine that I live in the center ) .
3) Already working on a ticket with the carrier , but they say problem is from my side
1) I set the LTE Signal , Lost all connection
2) I put bearer as LTE , Lost all connection
3) Could be a possibility
Can you kindly forward me or show me the path to where I can change my 900F modem to a more international one , Thanks a bunch !

Something is probably misconfigured or misprovisioned. But regardless, the issue will only be solved by paying attention to details and a process of elimination (of the possible causes).
The most productive single thing that you could do at this point would be to borrow a known working LTE SIM from a neighbour and see if works in your handset. Whatever the result, it would narrow down the possible culprits.
Also, don't assume that the frequencies are correct. Confirm with the carrier that they haven't changed or added new LTE bands.
Make the effort to find out what forums your carriers' customers usually frequent and look at recent posts there for seredipitious insights that you won't find elsewhere.
Don't dismiss the icon idea out of hand. Are your speeds indicative of an LTE connection?
You don't need a more "international" modem. Just a more current 900F one. Or less commonly, an alternate or older modem if your current one has a bug. Do a forum search for threads about changing modems. There are a lot of them. Don't fixate on this - it's one of the least likely possibilities.
Also consider updating to Android 4.4.3 or 4.4.4 which is said to address some connectivity bugs.

Well if your APN settings are allright you either have no LTE coverage or it isn`t available at your provider. LTE should be activated automaticaly if available.

Better contact your provider. Does the G900FD support your providers LTE band/frequency? I would check that first.

I`am starting to think that the G900FD supports different LTE bands then the G900F because it is build for a different region. Its mainly sold in the far east as i can see so far. Better Google to find the specs and the phones supported LTE bands. You may not be able to get LTE with your device i`am afraid. Good luck mate.

Similar problem with me, could anybody share some insight
Hi guys
I also had the issue of LTE not being selectable on my S5 Duos - here's my experiences.
Firstly I tried putting another carriers SIM into the phone, and noticed that LTE -was- selectable, but upon putting my own SIM back in, it again wasn't. HOWEVER - after putting my own SIM back in after using LTE on the other SIM, the phone automatically connected to LTE/4G even though WCDMA (auto) was selected! Very odd.
To permanently fix this here was my method -
My phone was shipped with ANF7 firmware, which was patched to overcome the kernel vulnerability Towelroot uses to gain root. I flashed my phone with ODIN back to ANF6 firmware, applied towelroot V3, then installed root browser and edited the system file data >property>persist.radio.lteon and changed the value from false to true, and rebooted the phone. LTE is now selectable!
:EDIT: Upgrading again to ANF7 broke the selection, but it still connected to LTE automatically... So odd.

Hi,
I had the same issue as yours. You can either fix it by a method explained here at XDA and it involves rooting the device. However I fixed my issue by flashing the latest firmware "G900FDXXU1ANJ2" for the month of November via Odin and now I can see the LTE/WCDMA/GSM option on sim 1. Hope this helps
Hi everyone,
I got a new Galaxy S5 (sm-900-w8) for my birthday. The device was bought in Canada.
It got unlocked for international usage (entered the 8 digits pin-code) and it worked PERFECTLY for 5 days.
After those 5 days the device got turned off because of the battery died. Recharged it and turned it on, and suddenly I get "Unregistered network" message on my lock screen.
Tried 4 different SIM cards from 4 different providers. Still, nothing.
The device DOES recognize a network when I turn it on, but after I'm trying to make a call 2 times (and gets a "call ended" message), it goes back to "Unregistered network" message or "Emergency calls only" message.
Please note that the signal bar is full.
Any idea how I can fix this problem?
Also, I rooted the device after the 3rd day. Does it mean I don't have my warranty anymore?
Thanks.
You didn't provide enough information for us to know what is going on.
The unregistered network simply means that your phone isn't detecting a valid SIM card. First try your SIM in another unlocked phone to see if the SIM card and or your account appear to be working. If not, then contact your carrier to check your account settings or replace the SIM card if necessary.
If the SIM works in another phone but not yours then we'd like to know where you bought your phone as the number one suspect would be IMEI blacklisting. If that isn't the issue, then the first thing to try for any unexplained anomalous behaviour is to wipe the system cache from recovery mode.
If the problem persists then you need to start troubleshooting which is nearly impossible without a detailed description of your situation. You didn't even tell us any basic info e.g. what carrier you are using, whether the SIM works in another phone, what S5 model, firmware, a step by step description of the changes you made to your phone, etc.

Thanks for the answer.
Now that I know which information you need:
- I tried my SIM card on a different device (Galaxy S3). It works perfectly.
- Also, as I mentioned earlier, I tried 3 additional SIM cards, all of them works perfectly on other devices, but not with my Galaxy S5.
- The device was bought from Rogers in Canada. I talked to them, they said it isn't blacklisted.
- I already tried to wipe the system cache from the recovery menu. Didn't help either.
- I wrote the model in the previous message: SM-900-W8.
- The current carrier is Golan Telecom in Israel.
- The firmware is 4.4.2 that came with the device. Didn't have the chance to update.
The step by step description you requested:
- I rooted to device.
- I unlocked it using a code that was given to me from some kind of shop in the mall (wasn't there, my gf took care of it), but it worked perfectly.
- The device worked well for 5 days, then the battery died and after I recharged it the problem started.
- If I disconnect my battery for several minutes and connects it again, the device DOES SHOW that it is connected to the network ("GOLAN T"), but if I try to call, after several seconds it disconnects and the "Emergency calls only" or the "Unregistered SIM" message appears.
- Tried reseting it to factory settings and to wipe the device's cache from the recovery menu. Didn't help.

Bingo. That is why you can never have too much information when troubleshooting.
Until proven otherwise, your problem is almost certain to be the fact that you are not using the S5 model that your carrier expects. Most Israeli carriers use the 900F model and you bought a 900W8 instead. The W8 is not intended for use in the middle east and has a different spectrum allocation than the 900F model.
Ask your carrier to spell out exactly what frequency bands they use in their network. More than likely one or more bands is missing in the W8 and that will be your problem. Other possibilities include region locking, which is Samsung trying to block you from doing exactly what you are attempting.. buying a phone in one country and using it elsewhere. You should also check the carrier blacklist (this is not the same as the IMEI blacklist).. but rather a roaming block that may be interfering because you are using the phone in a country that it wasn't intended for.
And possibly.. although unlikely, your carrier may block foreign IMEI numbers. You'd have to ask your carrier if they have any restrictions regarding handsets that customers purchase from third party sources.
There is one possible anomaly here. Your first post said that your phone worked for 5 days before failing. Was that 5 days in Canada or Israel? If Israel, that makes the last possibility more likely, although it could also be attributed to other factors.
Even though your SIM card working on a different handset tells us that there is some incompatibility between your phone and your carrier's network, you may still want to open a technical support ticket. It's possible that your carrier support department may have run into this issue before and have an expedient solution. Perhaps something as simple as needing to manually add the correct APN info.

Hey, thanks again for the answer.
The 5 days that I mentioned (when the phoned worked perfectly) were in Israel. The phone was never used in Canada, so do you think the frequency issue is still likely?
I already talked to my carrier, and tell you the truth, the carrier doesn't sell any devices (at all), so I really doubt they will block my device.
Again, they didn't even knew I changed it. They checked it out when I called them, and they said they never block any device - I did mentioned that the device was from Canada.
And again: I tried SIM cards from 4 different carriers (except for Golan Telecom, I tried Cellcom, YouPhone and Hot Mobile).
Is there any other information that you need me to provide?
Just tell me what and I'll give you the information you need.

That datum confuses the issue, but yes the ostensibly missing frequency bands are still the most likely culprit. Particularly since you tried multiple known good SIM cards in your phone. Something is conflicting between your phone and your local networks. And by far the most obvious cause is the spectrum allocation. Meaning that it may work erratically (or for five days) but can fail when the system tries to use the missing band(s).
Less likely, your local carriers may be conflicting with something else in the phone. Or it could be a random hardware failure, although that is very improbable. If it was a hardware failure, I'd think more in terms of a damaged SIM slot than semiconductor failure. Troubleshooting is all about ruling out possibilities and looking for patterns. So you need to work though the list of the most obvious candidates. For a start:
- Find out what frequency bands your carrier uses. And compare that to the W8 specs (Google search: sm-g900w8 specs)
- Check the roaming /region lock blacklist i.e. /system/csc/customer.xml and confirm that your Israeli carriers are not listed in that file.
- Find out what your carrier's APN information is and confirm that your phone has the same settings.
If you don't find a solution there, you should wipe your system cache from recovery mode and do a factory data reset. And failing that even write a full stock firmware image to the phone again - the latest firmware available just to cover the slight possibility that it could be a firmware bug.
And while not a panacea, you should still open a support ticket with your carrier. Don't get them mired in a long set of I've already tried this and this and this.. Just tell them that your phone worked fine for 5 days and now gives an "unregistered network" error. And that your SIM continues to work in other handsets. That should spur them to look into your account settings and hopefully identify anything that may be conflicting with your W8 phone.
And as a last resort, I guess claim it under warranty. If you used Towel root your warranty is probably still intact. You can boot to download mode or install the Phone Info app to find out your Knox flag status. If it is 0x0, then you only need to restore the stock firmware and you should be fine with respect to warranty.
If your Knox flag is 0x1 for any reason, Samsung will raise a stink about it. A lot of carriers don't care about Knox with respect to warranties thought. I don't know Roger's position on that point but in any event don't make a warranty claim directly with Samsung if you have a 0x1 flag. Make a warranty claim through your carrier (presumably Rogers) instead.

According to this: http://www.worldtimezone.com/gsm.html, Golan uses 3G 2100 frequency, which is supported according to this: http://www.samsung.com/ca/support/model/SM-G900WZKABMC (tech specs are expendable at the bottom).
Other frequencies seems to be supported as well. Actually, all the frequencies of the Israeli carriers seems to be supported.
If your handset supports all active frequencies that is great news, but you still need to work through the rest of the list of things to look into. Also, if you know anyone local with an unlocked 900F S5 phone, try your SIM in their phone.
Specs for Israeli 900F and Canadian 900W8, differences in bold.
You need to confirm that your carrier does not use the missing frequencies i.e. B8 (3G GSM 900) & B20 (LTE 800)
SM-G900F
2G GSM B8 (GSM 850MHz), B10 (E-GSM 900MHz), B13 (DCS 1800MHz), B14 (PCS 1900MHz)
3G UMTS B1 (IMT 2100MHz), B2 (PCS 1900MHz), B5 (US 850MHz Cellular), B8 (GSM 900MHz)
4G LTE B1(2100), B2(1900), B3(1800), B5(850), B7(2600), B8(900), B20(800)
SM-G900W8

4G LTE B1 (2100), B2 (1900), B3 (1800), B4 (AWS), B5 (850), B7 (2600), B8 (900), B17 (700)
.
OP this may sound ridiculous but go into your System>About Phone and check for your imei... you can also do *#06# hit send on your dial pad...
If your imei shows 000 or something weird other than the one that is printed on the sticker under the battery or box then you have a defective phone. I usually see this Unregister Network thing happen to quite a few Samsungs over the years, starting with the S2. You may have done something and caused the IMEI to get lost/wiped in the EFS.
The best thing to do in this case is you have to have the IMEI rewritten. This may be really easy if there is still an EFS backup on the phone or if it is still accessible. Otherwise at the time of writing this I think both the Octopus/Z3X cannot write IMEI on the S5 so taking it to repair shop can be pointless until it does.
Worse case scenario is your actual baseband chip is screwed.
Anyway, check to see if your imei is there. No IMEI = network cannot register you on as you device doesn't exist.

Hello everyone, I have learned a lot from this forum but before this topic I have searched a lot but couldn't find the solution to my problem. I am from Pakistan and recently my Carrier "Warid" started 4G LTE Services. I bought N9005 to use LTE services and got my 4G sim too. But I couldn't manage to use 4G. I called my Carrier helpline and asked them they said only Samsung Note 4 and Samsung Alpha are supported on their network, if you want to use it you can do it by rooting it on your own responsibility. I searched and found numerous ways which helped others but non of them worked for me. Here is the list of the following methods.
1- I read somewhere by *#0011# I should my LTE as GWL - This thing didn't work.
2- I edited my persist.radio.lteon to "true" and because of it I can see LTE/CDMA/GSM under network modes and I have selected LTE/CDMA/GSM. Still no LTE.
3- I found that system/csc/common/system/etc/lteon_netlist.xml didn't had my carrier numeric codes. I entered those but still no LTE.
4- I found that system/build.prop telephony.lteOnCdmaDevice=0 I changed it to 1. Still no LTE
5- I tried an app Advanced Signal Status, but still no results.
Please experts shed some light on this matter as there are many N9005 users in my country who are facing the similar LTE issues.

Huhmm, it seems you have discovered many methods. You have done good job, I think.
My suggestion is try to update your phone to the latest stock firmware.
If it is already on the latest firmware and still doesn't work, try the Method 3 above, but you must also edit the files \system\csc\XXX\system\csc\contents.db (where XXX = region code).
You must modify their contents to reflect the SIZE of the new file \system\csc\common\system\etc\lteon_netlist.xml (after adding your carrier numeric codes).

HI... THIS IS A MAJOR ISSUE WITH MANY USERS ALL OVER THE WORLD... IT IS A TOTAL MATTER OF SUPPORTED LTE BANDS.... BANDS MEANS FREQUENCY OVER WHICH YOUR DEVICE CONNECTS TO THE NETWORK PROVIDER FOR DATA AND CALLS. SO NOW NOTE 3 N9005 MODEL ONLY SUPPORTS LTE 800 / 850 / 900 / 1800 / 2100 / 2600 (Bands 1, 3, 5, 7, 8, 20) MHZ AND YOUR WARID TRANSMITS 4G ONLY ON 1800 MHZ. AND CURRENTLY WAHID 4G IS IN A TESTING STAGE, I CANNOT FIND WHICH BANDS IT SUPPORT ON 1800 MHZ. LTE WORKS IN TWO STAGES FIRST IT WILL GO ON SUPPOSE 1800 MHZ AND THEN BAND 1, 2, 3, ETC ON THAT FREQUENCY. WHICH I THINK DOES NOT MATCH WARID'S BAND IT ONLY MATCHES FREQUENCY THAT IS 1800 MHZ.
SO NOW QUESTION IS WHAT THE HELL IS THE USE OF OUR LTE NETWORKS.???
ACTUALLY IN INDIA, PAKISTAN, AUSTRALIA( ONLY CARRIER NAMED OPTUS) , AND VERY VERY FEW MORE SUPPORT FDD LTE AND YOUR HANDSET (FORTUNATELY WHICH I ALSO HAVE) SUPPORT ONLY HLTE. THESE ARE DIFFERENT TYPES OF LTE THEY ONLY DIFFER IN SUPPORTED BANDS AS WELL 2 OR 3 FREQUENCIES. SO WAIT FOR UPGRADATION OF YOUR CARRIER.
PLEASE PRESS THANKS BUTTON IF MY REPLY HELPED YOU.... I NEED THAT THANKS.

Ok, edit your lteon_netlist.xml as required, save it, note its size (in bytes) and convert to Hex value, e.g. AB12. Then open the file contents.db using any hex editor, search for the string lteon_netlist.xml, 2 bytes right after that string is the file size. Replace them with the new size (in hex) that you have noted above. Finally save it and reboot your device.
Please follow step by step carefully.

Thank You for the response sir, Warid 4G is officially launched now. Warid transmits 4G on 1800MHZ and 3Band. I have seen people here who are using Warid 4G services on N9005 just by using *#0011# and then going into LTE menu and Preference mode as GWL and it worked for them. A friend of mine is using Samsung S4 I9505 (he bought it used) 4G services are working perfectly in his phone. Right now my phone is using latest firmware which is N9005XXUGNJ2 CSC Country UAE.

I have the same problem, cannot get LTE (Warid Tel, Pakistan) to work on N9005. I did what you said. Change the hex value as per the new size in bytes of lteon_netlist.xml file in contents.db. But still the same problem. I'm running Hong Kong TGY - N9005ZHUENJ1
Ahmed Shaikhani, u mentioned that your friends got it working on their N9005s, can you ask them how they got around doing it.

One of my friend is using LTE services of Warid in his N9005, he did nothing special he just dialed *#0011# and he set GWL as a Pref Mode and his LTE services are working perfectly.
Today I switched my phone and I placed my LTE sim card into my friend's Samsung Galaxy S4 I9505 (Non-Rooted). I just dialed *#0011* and switched on LTE and the 4G signals popped up just after the reboot. :S He is using the UAE firmware and even I'm using the firmware of UAE. I don't know what's the problem here. I called my network helpline they said "May be binary of his phone is updated". :S Any suggestions experts ?
Bump anyone ?

Yes Sir I live in a 4G coverage area, this issue is with most of the N9005 Warid users they are not able to connect 4G services with this phone. Warid has no answers for this question, may be I'll switch to Sony Xperia Z2 or wait for Official 5.0 lollipop to fix this bug.

Are you sure? It is even possible? Maybe it is
when i bought my note it also had UAE firmware installed.... then i downloaded and flashed UK FIRMWARE 4.4.2 ending as UGNG1 from sammobile.com. So the problem may be in the firmware.... well in 90% cases its the firmware... so try it.. flashing a stock rom of n9005 device on your n9005 will not void your warranty or not brick it... it is totally safe to flash usin odin software... just google it... otherwise im there to help.... astold above that warid transmits 4g on 1800mhz and on band 3 then n9005 should have 4g working.

Hello,
I have been using my Meizu MX5 for about two months now without the 4G network working. I have recently updated to the latest firmware and I am currently running Flyme OS 4.5.2.7A and that has not solved any issues either.
I have checked that the phone settings are configured properly.
Network Mode is set to "4G First".
The phone is pending between, H-, H and H+ connection (3G I believe?)
I have checked with my provider and these are the following frequencies which should be providing 4G in my country (Sweden) for the provider:
800Mhz, 900MHz, 1800MHz, 2600MHz
Other providers have the same frequencies as well.
I have also gotten two new SIM-Cards during this period of time without it solving any issues. I have tried the SIM cards in some other phones and they get 4G connection without any issues.
I have been in contact with Meizu customer support in China and after some random troubleshooting of factory resetting and reinstalling the same firmware on the phone without solving anything.
They have also provided me information regarding the different bands/frequencies which the phone operates on:
GSM/GPRS/EDGE (900/1800/1900MHz)
WCDMA/HSPA+: Band 1/2/8 (900/2100MHz)
FDD LTE: Band 1/3 (1800/2100MHz)
TD-SCDMA: Band 34/39 (no freqency specified)
TD-LTE: Band 38/39/40/41 (no frequency specified)
I am not 100% sure on how this works but according to the information I am given, the phone and my provider share at least one frequency for the 4G network and therefore I do not understand why it is not working.
I am sure that it is software related and thus I won't send my phone back to China (4-8 weeks delivery time and all expenses has to be paid by me) for them to troubleshoot.
Anyone here who has knowledge which could give me an answer?
Kind regards,
Martin
Hi mate.
I had this problem but upgraded to new firmware late last night and it came on. Thankfully!
Give it a try
Hi,
I have checked the upgrade app on the phone and it says I have the latest firmware.
Which firmware version are you running?
Kind regards,
Martin
Maybe it is an APN related problem. Look if you have the same data as in the other phones that 4G works

Hi iicc,
Thank you for the reply.
I have checked the APN settings about four-five times and I can't find any inconsistencies. I have even crosschecked it with a support technician from my provider.
The only things I can think of is either my anntenna being gimped, that the firmware is not properly developed or that somehow there's trash in my system and that my phone maybe needs a complete wipe and reinstallation.
After the upgrade to firmware 4.5.2.7A the phone does not even hint on trying to connect to 4G. Pre-upgrade it atleast connected to 4G for about 5 seconds and then went down to 3G.
Kind regards,
Martin

I am not 100% sure on how this works but according to the information I am given, the phone and my provider share at least one frequency for the 4G network and therefore I do not understand why it is not working.
I am sure that it is software related and thus I won't send my phone back to China (4-8 weeks delivery time and all expenses has to be paid by me) for them to troubleshoot.
Anyone here who has knowledge which could give me an answer?
Kind regards,
Martin

Let me try to come up with something that might be your problem. If you are using 3 as your mobile provider then they use FDD-LTE band 7 & 20 none of which are supported by the MX5 and 3 are also using TDD-LTE band 38 which is supported by the MX5, but might not be available in your area.
If you are on Net4Mobility then they use FDD-LTE 3,7,8 & 20 of which only 3 is supported, so it could that in your area there is no coverage with band 3.
If you are on Telia, the story is pretty much the same as Net4Mobility as they use FDD-LTE 3,7 & 20.
In order to get more from your phone. You can open up google and search for 'meizifan eu' and go to the website. They have a pretty good description of how you install the international version of FlyMe on your MX5, the international version is called 4.5.2.7i. I believe it activates some other FDD-LTE and TDD-LTE bands.
1800Mhz band is a short range, higher bandwidth frequency which usually is less common and given that it has a short range it most likely isn't available in your area.

Thank you for the reply nasty_suicide!
I am using Comviq Tele2 as provider, which should use the Telia net.
This is what I believe as well, but I really thought there was no way to flash the international version onto the phone and was about to abandon ship by buying a new phone yet again.
I will try to install the International version as soon as I have time to follow through the steps. I have found the guide on Meizufans.
Once I have installed the international version I'll let everyone know the outcome.
Kind regards,
Martin
Hi Hawdes,
I've exactly the same problem as you do, please post back once you instal I version. I was planning to do so but since I already have everything installed I didn't want to go through trouble for nothing.
What were the results of this? Is it true that firmware can affect the signal received?
upgraded to the latest firmware yet?
