First off sorry for the newbish question but I'm a little burnt out after couple of hours of reviews and comparisions, tables, videos and what not.
I'm looking for an android tablet, 10'' IPS, FHD resolution and possibly with a decent battery. All in all, the yoga tablet 2 looks like fitting all the requisites, and I also like it aesthetically. But it's not for me, it's for my mom so I don't need any pro features or the latest fancy piece of hardware. I was looking at he 1050 but I didn't get if there's any difference between the 1050 and the 1050F or if it's just a typo on amazon that says 1050 while it should say 1050F. I'm pretty sure the 1050L has the LTE module which I'm not interested in but I think I've seen a 1050LC too somewhere..... now things start to get blurry
Since I'm here, I'd also like to know how's the rom/kernel/mod support in general. I always unlocled, rooted and flashed new roms in my android devices but I can't lose too much time on this one in particular for the above reasons.
Anyways, thanks in advance.
1050F = Wifi only (should be the cheapest, i for one have 1380F the 13" model)
1050L = 1050F + LTE
1050LC = 1050L + phone calls (yes a 10" phone hope your mother has big hands)
Noice, so what amazon sells as 1050 with wifi is the 1050F. That's a good start.
What about roms and the likes? Is there a cyanogen dev or any other "main dev branch" for the 1050? I had a quick look at the android dev subforum and it looks like it's kinda mixed up, the different models I mean.

only stock roms available for now for the yoga 2 tab android models (830, 1050, 1380), so no custom ones (cyanogen etc)
these models have a locked (and as of yet no news on unlocking possible) bootloader so no way to load a modded rom, you're stuck to stock
rooting is possible tho

Ironic, we don't yet have a proper leak yet...

Tbh, that's not bad! It's just a shame there's no mention of other details, like how much storage there is and if it does support SDHC-cards. One can also see what looks like S-Pen, but I do not know if it's just for the looks or if it is actually functional.
I know several people who could actually use this phone just fine.
I can't even imagine how much of a headache it would be going phone shopping in China. We should all have that problem.
the samesung fauxlaxy clnotned?
Samesung, Nukia, and Motorolo.
Salute China.

Edit: Upon closer inspection, the first picture in the link does NOT have an S-Pen. The third seems to show one. Either way... no thanks.
Also, the flash is different between the first picture and the third... If it's more like the third then I want that back-piece!
yes, but there are two different versions, one is 5.3 the other is 5.0

i heard it is the best phone, with pen and leather case, help can help you.
Hey guys, I just need some help checking if this method is sound. I came up with it in the car just about an hour ago. The basic jist is just a uniform standardised way of comparing processors. Let me know what you think. Link Below
http://coldfustion.blogspot.com.au/2012/11/idea-for-universal-way-of-processor.html
It'll make more sense if you read the explanation first.

Well, it still does not solve the problem of weighing both between the tests and possible within each test run.
So the question still would be "11% better for what?".
Interesting..

Sorry, I’m not sure if I follow the first half of the question but in response to the second half.
It doesn't really work that. Each processor would naturally have their pros and cons so one processer would be “better” at some things than the other, but this is a final overall average-comparative method.
The method strictly compares 2 phones while reducing the sensitivity of processor bias within tests on a standardised scale. Maybe it would be best to Imagine if each percent was a unit on this comparative scale.
It that would finally state something like: “The Nexus 4 scores 11.9 Units against the galaxy note II”
Which is not major where as something line “The galaxy note II scores 55 Units against the galaxy note 1” is massive and you’d know that the note II is a lot better than the original.
I hope this all makes sense. Haha it’s just an idea let me know if you still think it’s rubbish
All it means that out of 100 things, the Nexus can handle 11 things better than the Note 2. The other 89 things performed par to par on both phones

They are giving us the new Touchwiz icons that look like they are the result of Touchwiz being raped and getting a back alley abortion. Nooooooooooo. I hope they at least include themes so that we can hide that mess. Then again, by the time this is actually released by Verizon, I assume a lot of us will have already moved on to non Samsung phones.
I think the biggest UI upgrade I can recall occuring on a Samsung device was maybe when the OG Note got Jellybean and looked fairly similar to the Note II and picked up some new features. Otherwise, Samsung has traditionally let as little as possible trickle down from their latest flagships to "last year's" model when doing updates---look at the Note 4 or the Note 3 Lollipop situation , for example. Neither phone was as smooth or as refined under Lollipop as it was under KitKat (I do not recall if the Note 3 was better under JB or KK). I certainly do not expect things like theme support or manual camera modes to ever trickle down to the Note 4. I'll just be glad to get its RF and battery performance back to where it was with KitKat.
I highly, highly doubt we ever see this.

His demo phone seems to be very laggy as hell with MM 6.0. Hopefully by the time we getting this it should be better.
It looks like it has a few things I might like. But the icons, dear lord are they bad. Way to iPhoneish for my liking.
The settings menu looks decent to me though.

Exactly why I hope they throw in themes. I hope somebody asks on the youtube page. He's been answering questions. (I tried to ask, but youtube won't let me sign in since I deleted G+ and my YT channel.)
We all Motorola User Wants Full Power of Our Devices that we have.
With 64 Bit OS We Can Use App & Mods Like Google Camera HDR+ Mode wich is Best Camera mode available to Android devices.
I have bought Moto G5 Plus this Year but Still have 32bit OS and in other place Redmi Note 3 has 64bit OS and it is Released 2 Years Ago.

Have we done it before? I joined this month so I have no clue that it has been tried already
That is not going to happen, it's not that easy and remember, it's not Motorola anymore, it's lenovo.
If they decide to do it, that would be a mess at the time to get the update. I am pretty sure we needed to make a full wipe. It wouldn't be just an update, it would be installing a new system from scratch and that's not something a lot of people would like to do, including myself.
I haven't had any problem with the device running a 32bit system and I am pretty sure I won't.
I would like to get Google Cam just for HDR+ but it's not a big deal and I can live without it.
We have an amazing dev team for the device so there is nothing we are missing for having a 32bit system.

Yes... There have been several threads here since this device first released whining about it being 32-bit, wanting to pressure Lenovo about making a 64-bit version, comparing the difference between the 32/64 bit world's, etc.
Simple answer, it's 32-bit... It's going to stay to that way, live with it.

Right!? If you're so unhappy then return or sell the damn thing lol.
Hey people!
Since the S6 has quite a limited amount of RAM (for this decade!), would be it more useful to have an Android Go port instead of full-fat AOSP, or even Pixel ports?
I'm no developer and I don't even know much about Android Go so please explain/tell me why this hasn't been done. I'm sure a lot of people have thought of this before but there must be reasons that it's not come into existence, yet.
Thank you sooo much!

I don't really see a point as to why would anyone make an Android Go ROM for the Galaxy S6 Edge. The 7420 is still really capable enough to run modern versions of Android like A12 or A13 given the right optimisation and patches.
In addition to that, Android Go is just NikGapps Go on top of an AOSP build

I'm sorry but I didn't say anything about processing power though.
They should introduce a similar feature like RAM Plus on One UI for LineageOS Devices. With that, even the S6 would have no RAM issues in the upcoming years
Exynos 7420 in general is too strong, still going great these days. It just missing the right optimizations for AOSP roms, I bet it could handle A11 or A12 good. The current LOS 19.1 (A12) is currently in development, it still run ok, but because the HWC is broken so yeah.
