I've read a couple threads on this already but couldn't get concise answers to the questions I have specifically through it, so I'll list them to follow if anybody could help out. I'm new to all this business but relatively tech savvy so quick answers or references are just fine by me! Thanks guys!
1) Bought my HD2 in Singapore, as I understand the radio doesn't work on US 3G due to a difference in bands (which I didn't know when I bought it) - is it possible to flash ..for instance.. the Telstra Radio ROM to the phone and open up the capability? As I understand it theirs works on the US 3G network.
2) If I can't flash 3G radios for the US onto my phone, are their any good ways to increase data performance outside of that? Right now it's pretty awful - can't even search youtube let alone watch anything.
3) Custom ROMS.. I've seen quite a few of them, trying to open up the best performance phone and data wise for my cell, any recommendations? I understand it may be biased based on location/use/etc. But a general consensus on which work best will give me a good place to start. Don't need a ton of fancy options, just performance boosting with the standard HTC Sense works for me.
Thanks for the help everyone, sorry if I'm reposting but I've delved through several posts already and couldn't find precisely what I'm asking for answered in a direct manner.

1) No
2) If you have AT&T try setting up the proxy server for the connection
3) Try before you buy. Hey wait their free, you can of course donate to the cook, in most cases.
Awesome, thanks for the quick answers, I appreciate it!
Aren't the HD2 Quad band phones?
US uses 1900 GSM right? I'm not from the US so i don't know....
BUt if it is Quad band, shouldn't it work in the US as well? Unless 3G is a different thing altogether. As far as I know, Singapore Phones are all unlocked and it's against the law to have it locked to any telco to begin with

3G is a different thing all together, he will get EDGE but no 3G, ATT uses 850/1900 UMTS I believe, while T-Mobile uses 1700/2100
hello!
this is my first time posting here. im planning to buy a galaxy tab wifi only model. the only problem i have right now is that im unsure if i could use the developments in the CDMA or GSM parts of the forum about the tab. Or am i right in thinking that i cannot use either?
thanks!
Its a fairly new device. With different firmware. So I say wait till its in circulation and devs start working on its ROMs.
Thanx for the quick reply sir. I am also concerned with the considerably lower chance of the WiFi only model being updated to 3.0, whether by Samsung or someone here in the forum. If that's my concern, would you advice me to get the gsm version instead?
Sent from my HTC Vision using XDA App
Heyo!
Before buying the Note 10.1 i have a few questions.
Here we go:
1. Can I somehow flash an samsung original firmware which is able to receive OTA updates from Samsung? I only need root and the original samsung firmware, since the software features are my main reason for buying (i will study physic, and this will help!)
2. Whats the difference between gt 8010 and 8013?
3. do you think we will get an 4.2 Update? I think 4.1.1 is released, isn´t it?
thanks in advance!
There many post which will answer your question.
The difference between all version is country specific changes like some are with 3G and voice calling, only 3G, Wif. Then there are some country specific version and 8013 is USA specific version apart from that nothing really.
Only Germany has recieved the JB update around three weeks back others are waiting. As for 4.2 we should eventually get it but I think now Samsung is busy rolling out 4.1.1 for all its devices.
Ok since i live in Germany that should be no problem
Only one question.. as far as i can see only the 3G version got the JB update....
Will the Wifi version get it as well?
Eventually all version will get JB updates and since new Note devices are being launched with JB i think it will happen pretty soon.
Also one strange thing is the Germany update is to carrier based device and not the stock Samsung device there does not look any difference between the two but its a strange thing.
Also there are some issues being reported if you use the rom on the wifi version which is logical since its not made for it
Then i think i will buy that Tab
Enormous power inside, JB update soon, cheap at the moment (in germany..) and has best functionality as student.... nothing more to wish!
I am thinking to buy this phone and I will get disappointinted if samsung stops updating it.I know it's too soon to talk about another big update, but I think that the S3 neo can handle the lollipop because it has 1,5 gb ram and better cpu gpu than the older S3.
What do you think?

:crying::crying::crying: I sent an email to Samsung DEV team and surprisingly they called me and said there were no plans to develop Lollipop for S3/S3 Neo, but they said if enough requests are made they will think of development. I said register my name. :fingers-crossed::fingers-crossed::fingers-crossed:

If you read my previous post on my experiences with Kitkat on the S3 Neo then you should not base your purchase decision on whether lollipop update will come to the neo. Price wise I got an excellent dual sim phone which I use extensively as my daily device. Quad core, 1.5gb ram, 16gb memory, excellent battery life are enough reason for an average user like me to like a phone like this one
Anyway if you have the money it would be better for you to get the latest models if updates worries you.
If you want you can install CM12. Look for it in this forum

The link that I used: http://www.samsung.com/in/info/contactus.html - This is Samsung India site. You can use your country specific Samsung site. :good:
Don't forget to mention that the phone falls under the standard 18 months upgrade program.
Are there news?

Yes I agree. But for two sims doesn't work properly for calls on second sim, NFC doesn't work and also another bugs. So the development team must considered that there are a lot o clients that uses this cellphone. But in fact, it is my opinion.
No lollipop

I now don't say you that samsung don't develop lollipop for we.... but i'm here for say you... NO LOLLIPOP, it have a known bug: BATTERY, will survive a bit... and the sdk are not sopported from the best root service (Xposed for example...) soon or later developer will relase some <root> mod for lollipop design. Now you can try A3 Rom for our s3 neo from @t-shock !
I don't think there will be an official release.
Lollipop is coming on s3 Neo (Hopefully)

could you provide a pic of the mail? The grammar looks suspicous. And this is your first post.
Forgive me if this has been beaten to death so if there's already an open thread please redirect me. I just need to know officially whether or not this model can be rooted as I'm having next to no luck google searching about it. Most threads are either 3 years old or pertain only to China s8 G955 etc models, but my understanding so far is the Snapdragon US model is unrootable. Just need to confirm this, and if so why is Samsung so frickin lame preventing this and getting rid of all the exploits? Any why is it ONLY this Galaxy model? I checked a list of rootable models and it just skips from the S7 to S9. I'm a bit salty about it. It's a great phone and would love to do more with it. Please advise, and if anyone knows of any cool alternatives/workarounds I'd very much like to know.
Thanks,

There is no root for Oreo and if the bootloader is revision 3 or higher no chance of.
