You can't use paypal as a payment of a phone/tablet/accessory in the Google Store, only apps on your phone

Don't understand why they set it up that way. So silly.

Because if you pay via paypal then google has to stick to paypal's rules, meaning everybody can open a case 6 months from now and ask to return the device for full refund. While Google has 14 days return policy if you want full refund.

I think you'd have to transfer your money to google wallet in order to purchase this. Good luck.

Well for me, i just linked my debit card to google wallet. So I'm guessing in your case, withdraw money from Paypal and put it into your bank, connect your debit card to google wallet and pay for it.

I am looking for places that accept paypal also. Staples and Gamestop unfortunately, do not accept it. I'm hoping within a few days of release other online retailers will carry the nexus 7.
A lot of sellers on eBay are taking pre-orders.
In the UK ebuyer.com accepts payments by PayPal and have the Nexus7 for pre-order
I just use PayPal's Debit Mastercard, but I'm not entirely sure if that's available outside of the US
paypal
i just used paypal @ www adorama com to purchase the 16G model.

$10 credit in Google Wallet?

Just curious if the 7 gets the $10 wallet credit other devices get as well.
The N7 gets $25 in credit upon activation.
Yes. I got it although it took a while to activate the prepaid card through Google. Eventually it worked though.

Actually...I signed into google wallet on my N7 (with the same Google credentials) and have a balance of $10 whereas my gnex has the balance from the 50 that I added of 32.XX. It appears to be two independent google wallet prepaid cards.

It's device specific, your Google account is only there for account protection. I have gotten the $10 credit on a Nexus S, VZW GNex, and a GSM Gnex

Yeah, that's kind of what I noticed too. Already had Wallet on my GS3 and the $10 prepaid card on that. Activated Wallet on my Nexus 7 just now and it appears to have it's own $10 prepaid card too. One odd thing did happen to me though: activating Wallet on my Nexus 7 appears to have deactivated my Citi card from my Wallet account on my GS3. Anyone else with similar experience?
i just have a quick question does the google wallet work even if you are not connected to wifi?
Yeah it does! Or it wouldn't be very useful would it

The google wallet app... it should be in your app drawer. When I launched it, it told me I could get the credit by signing up.

If Best Buy or Fry's accept Google Wallet, go there and buy Amazon Gift card. Then at least you can spend it in Amazon AppStore.

Will signing in on a new Nexus 7 give me more credit?

Just wondering if I bought a new Nexus 7 and signed in with the Google account I have done on my current one, will I got more credit? Or should I just use my secondary Google account?

Yep. Credit is 1 per gmail account
So, on a related note, here's what I'm trying to figure out... Let's say you bought a Nexus 7 from Google Play, received and used some of the credit, and then return the tablet. Presumably, the credit is rescinded. But, suppose you've subsequently purchased a replacement Nexus 7. Is the credit reissued?
I'm in precisely this situation, and I'm looking forward to seeing what Google does. I have a feeling I'll end up losing the credit...
The credit is not rescinded as far as I know. I think I remember reading about this somewhere else.

I'm pretty sure you can.
Why not just go and try to add it as a payment option.
If not, get the PayPal Master Debit and use that. That's how I use PayPal on Google stores.

You can't - I tried. I have a PayPal master debit card for my PayPal account that I use for eBay and what not, and a separate account for PayPal credit. There's no option to be sent a credit card for PayPal credit, but there is for the regular debit account.
I quite enjoy the financing options with Paypal credit, but it wasn't an option. You can only check out with a credit/debit card.
I have a PayPal Extras MasterCard and I have it in my Google Wallet.
