Nope...but not using it as such...n on nova launcher prime
Hi,
after upgred to 4.4 i was using TeslaUnread plugin (with Nova laun) to show unread mail for stock email client.
Now in 4.4 it's not working anymore. (gmail/sms/call work great).
I also tried:
Notifyer
MissedIt!
ApexNotifier (with dashclock)
... but non of them working with google stock mail app.
Anyone know if there is problem with stock email app
(which but have huge problems with excahnge sync http://www.androidpolice.com/2013/1...oid-4-4-users-no-single-cause-yet-determined/)
or maybe something else?
Anyone with working solution on 4.4.?
Unread Gmail count does not display in Touch-Wiz launcher. Just to make sure that this was not a configuration issue, I have installed several market launchers, (Nova etc.) and the unread counts for Gmail do show there. Missed calls, unread Email (Exchange account), Unread SMS all work in the stock launcher, but somehow I need to get the Gmail unread to work.
Any ideas? And yes....to answer the obvious I would like to use the stock launcher, kind of like the "My magazine" payne.
All ideas/help is appreciated.
I have owned a few Samsung phones and Gmail never shows a count. Only with aftermarket launchers.
So it won't work.

How about dropping the 3x3 Gmail 'inbox viewer' widget on one of your screens?
Interesting....I have had a S3 and S4 (Verizon both) and the unread Gmail count worked on both of those stock launchers. I have not had your experience
Reasonable alternative, but I am a clean home screen kind of guy...Not a fan of big widgets that show content, just like the simplicity of taking a quick look at the home screen to see if there is anything new in the inbox. No unread count, no more click through.
I think this is some kind of bug......somewhere with the Touch-Wiz launcher. Why would an Android phone not show one of the baseline functions that has been around since Froyo?

Apex launcher + Apex notifier does this, but not sure you're looking to use a third party launcher.
Hello!
I need help to fix WhatsApp & gmail. I don't get notifications until when I open the app.
Viber & GoSMS Pro work fine (I think).
I disinstalled & reinstalled already 10 times, both WhatsApp and gmail.
I disinstalled also greenify and clean master.
Nothing! Still not getting notifications!
WhatsApp tech support are real morons, they refuse to help because my device is rooted!
Anyway, I did EVERYTHING listed in the WhatsApp debug faq including installing PNF.
When I open PNF, and I open play services monitor, if I click connect all delayed notifications are notified.
I do NOT have gtalk installed.

Hello. Please, when i double click in gmail notification in aod, i read email but if i reopen app, the email is yet unreaded. When i delete a email from gmail app, random sync with gmail web page... Is this a known bug??? I repaet, random, not always and i din't understand why... Can anyome help me? Thanks
Nobody uses Gmail???
This is not a problem with the S8 but with Android Nougat. Its also not only Gmail related its all notifications on nougat are broken The best way to get SOME notifications back is to go to settings/apps/hamburger menu/special access/optimize battery usage/ and uncheck EVERYTHING. Next step is to (with root) use the app "Root- Push Notification Fixer" and set intervals to lowest possible settings. You will still not get all of them but at least you will get some of them..
Another fix is to install nova launcher and teslaunread to show bubbles on your icons when you have new notifications for that app. I have mine setup for about 7 apps and I ALWAYS get the bubble hours or days before a notification ever comes in (if they ever do).
In order to fix the issue specifically with gmail I use a different email app. I use aquamail, but there are a few good ones out there. I don't have notification or synching issues. I don't use the email on the phone a lot, a few times a day. I found a great improvement over using gmail.
