ok, so sometimes i change my simcard to get LTE connection when i really need it cuz the provider I use for txting doesnt provide decent LTE here in my country and i have it on a plan so thats what i mainly use, today i needed to use LTE, I was using my phone with mediaserver on a normal % like 3% or something, when i changed sim it shot up to 40% and dont know what to do, i think it might also be because i removed SD card while removing sim because it proved abit troublesome without removing the SD card.
solutions i have tried :
deleted .thumbnail
disabled media storage
downloaded and used media killer
removed SD card and rebooted
i had this problem 2-3weeks back and decided to format my phone, wouldnt want to resort to this again
any help appreciated thanks!

Last night, before I went to bed, I noticed my phone lost reception. I didn't think anything of it and went to bed. Today at work, I still have no reception. Of course I checked to make sure the actual phone on comm manager was on, but it just keeps searching. I did have my phone overclocked to 273, but I dropped it to stock speed with the same results. I even did a hard reset and it does the same thing. I tried to go in an manually select a network, but it just says searching. I'm running Open Touch 3.0 Biggy. Any ideas or suggestions? I've heard that sim cards can go bad and cause this, but mine seems to be working. I can still access all my sim contacts.
Thanks,
Nevermind....
Okay, so I found someone who had a tmobile sim card, and swapped with their phone, and their sim card works in my phone, but mine won't in theirs....therefore, bad sim card. It's weird though, because I can still access my contacts though. ....off to buy a new sim card. Man, I'm glad its the card and not the phone. Waaaaaay cheaper to fix.
Hi, I am really not sure what my device problem is but if anyone has any suggestions please let me know. Since I bought my Verizon Touch I have lost my storage card data around 5-6 times. After going through the process of setting my device up 5 times I contacted sandisk for a replacement micro SD card. After recieving the new card it happend again. I woke up this morning and noticed the programs i installed to my SC were aka missing. I generaly only store mp3, email attachments, programs that don't load at startup onto the storage card. Does anyone have any ideas for a fix? The time it takes to resetup my device is killing me. I look forward to your help. Thanks!!
Have you though of getting a replacement device?
Yah that was my next step. I just wanted to check the wealth of knowledge in the forum to see if there was an application or setting that could be causing the problem.
Typically, with hardware like a SD card, if you have reformatted and tried a new card, you've pretty much narrowed it down to the device.
Mine did it just this morning about around 2am...guess i'll be calling verizon for a new one, this is my 4th time.
Recently I have been having this problem where my phone will have connection to the network for about 3 hours max then it will loose service completly. Then if i try and switch to 2g only it doesnt do anything but stay without connection then i will restart the phone and it will give me the no SIM card notification and even if i try and select the network manually it will say SIM card not registered on network anyone having these same issues.
I am running JF1.5ADP with lucids apps to sd
PS I have switched sim cards 5 times and a number change and even a ban number change any suggestions before i junk this thing and get an iphone.

After that, nope. Go.
I had this happen to me once. I rebooted a few times, and Reseated the SIM card and that seemed to fix it( Although, i don't think that is what actually remedied the problem). That happened about a week ago, and i haven't had any problems since.
Running JF1.5ADP Also.
Oh, And c_low: Don't come into an Android Forum and start talking about getting an *phone. I don't think it'll get you any non flame replies.

thats real helpful im sure your a valued member of this forum lmao(tool)
As much as I love this phone, it has gone to complete ****.
First the loss of cellular data. Blamed that on the SD card, so whatever. Was able to get it to work for the last month or 2.
Then I could only get my text messages 10 at a time after a soft reset. Was fine with that for now. I was just hoping the update coming out in a couple weeks would fix that issue. Figured this was caused by the SD card too.
Then my WiFi decided to stop connecting to any wireless network. Again, thought this was caused by the SD card. I couldn't take it anymore so I took the battery out, the SD card out and the SIM card out. Put it all back in, started the phone back up, and nothing. All my info was still there, but couldn't connect to any cellular network (on AT&T), and couldn't connect to WiFi. So I thought, okay can't live with this, and I did a full restore.
Booted up after the restore and went through the initial setup, and son of a b-word...won't recognize the SIM card. So I removed the SD card and did another restore. Same thing, SIM card error. Took battery, SIM, etc out, put it all back in, did another restore, blah blah blah...nothing.
So I put my SIM card in my old iPhone 3G and it will connect to AT&T with 3G, but says I don't have a data connection (I'm guessing because I don't have the iPhone specific plan). So why the hell did my focus all of a sudden decide to not recognize any SIM card? I think I've had it with this phone. This is my 2nd one and it's been nothing but problems. I understand it's probably because of the SD card, but now with no SD card installed I am still having problems. I'm tired of it.
Might not be related, but since last week, I've also been experimenting SIM Card Errors. Usually after a soft reset it will fix it. But it's been happening a lot every day. Put the card in another phone and no problem. I dropped the phone 2" two weeks ago, but didn't get the issue right away. Strangely started happening too as Samsung came out with an update to their Network Profile app. Will try a hard reset, but not looking forward to it.
I'm new to this whole world of GSM. I've been CDMA for 10 years+. So forgive me if this is common knowledge.
I have a N4 using a Straight Talk Tmobile Sim Card that was cut. This is the 3rd time this has happened in about 3 months. When suddenly my phone says no sim card.
Ths 1st time I flashed the louder add on app. Then to get it back working a restore didn't do it. I needed to flash a new kernel.
The 2nd time My phone was install tons of apps and then it rebooted, came up with no sim card. I flashed the update for my rom PA3 since I downloaded it anyways, and that fixed it.
This 3rd time my phone did not reboot, but I was in church had phone i silent, pulled it out pocket no sim installed. Before I do anything else just wondering is this something to expect? or do I have a bad phone, rom, sim or whatever else? And what's the best way of fixing it? Feels like im throwing jello and something is sticking.
Thanks!
EDIT
I've used a non activated sim card, and it does not even see that I just installed it.

Use a real micro sim, not a cut sim.
There is no option for Tmobile and straight talk.
I dont think its the SIM anyways.
Because I installed a micro sim (not cut) into the phone and the phone does not see it neither.
