Is there a full firmware for retde with the stagefright fixes included? i want to relock my bootloader but it doesn't work while downgrading..

Still no sign in GB of the patch, I wonder if they've stopped it as more patches have come through since this one, and of course Marshmallow.

GB update is out, just updated mine.

Yes, this has just come through on mine. This puts the GB update about 3 or 4 weeks behind the generic EU one. Is that the norm? I've only had my handset a couple of months...

what are the main fixes ??

Hey calm down, there wouldn't be a ftf if I hadn't created it. If it doesn't work with Tapatalk, use something normal like Firefox. No-one is asking you to use the file I have created.

Cheers TheCraig, I really am just trying to help and get involved more. I have used the files here previously, just wanted to give something back. Wanted to try and get the EE branded 257 firmware too but I couldn't get it to download on it's own, only OTA and as far as I know you cannot create a FTF from an OTA download.
Don't worry. Some of us understand you are just trying to help.

I'm in the UK and I have an Unbranded Xperia Z1 C6903 which was bought separately (bought it sim free, not from EE), but my mobile plan provider is EE.
Would this be the correct FTF to flash to my phone or do I need to wait for an unbranded one?
Thanks!
Try it and see

You can use any UK C6903 FTF. For instance, I have an unbranded Z1 running on the O2 network, but have installed the vodafone FTF and it's running fine.
There is some vodafone bloatware included which are uninstallable without root, but heyho, everything is running smooth and dandy.
If you don't like it, you can always reflash.
Has anyone tried to disable exchange PIN requirements on the new 4.3 ?

Hey mate,
just wanted to let you know that I did it.
Used SEUS to flash to latest stock FW.
Then unlocked bootloader, and flashed CWM using this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2588331
Then flashed the latest SuperSU via CWM, and successfully obtained root.
Then I used the v3.4 of the exchange patch here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1117452
voila. 4.3, rooted, CWM, and with exchange security overridden.

[Q] Upgrading to 5.0

Hello guys,
i got a d802 , the european version from germany,
i rooted it to get access to some apps and ive been told that you cant update the phone(with the original update) if its rooted.
can i update through the phone although it is rooted ?
if so, did the update release yet ?
in addition, does it contain all the languages incl. hebrew ?
thank you so much
edit: plz move it if it doesnt belong here.ty.
if you are rooted , you cannot receive OTA updates . So far there's no ETA from lg for our lg g2 ,and at the moment only korean version got official lollipop . We are waiting too ,on european version ,hope by the end of january.

You're right and you're wrong, because:
For model f320L (I'm not sure about another model), even my phone are rooted I can still receive OTA updates (if i keep the stock recovery). But for model f180 (Optimus G), it is impossible

Right now, when I check "Software update", a toast notification appears >> "Communication in progress..."
Root =custom recovery = no OTA. Simply as that. So if Lollipop appears, and you prefer OTA way of update- the only one solution is to use pure stock.

Rooted device doesn't mean it has custom recovery.
So if you don't have custom recovery you would be fine to upgrade.

Correct. I mean in general. Usually root goes in pair with custom recovery. So if you have root and want OTA remember not to touch recovery and of course don't delete any system app.

If there is an OTA 5.0 update on the G2 devices, then I am very disappointed.
Normally, on any other subroom, soon as Sammy or Sony or HTC releases their "update" (or source code), xda dev. instantly jump on it right away, and rooted/custom recovery users will have a chance to run the latest update BEFORE ones that waiting for phone providers such AT&T/Verizon to push OTA update.

I dont have custom recovery, can i upgrade with the ota with no problem ?
So i have a custom recovery and i was wondering if it would brick my phone if i flash 5.0 with KDZ when it comes out. I had an lg phone before it worked no problems but i just want to know if its the same with lg g2.

On my d802 all updates I can't do on OTA only in download mode, yes I have root and stock recovery and every time I apply an update root is gone I don't know why but is fine for me. I hope on 5.0 I can update on download mode ?

Maybe a update to close the latest found stagefright.
Probably for the second Stagefright vulnerability and some other bugfixes. Considering it changes the second last number to "1" instead of just upping the last number suggest it is a bigger update.

You will receive, why not. If you are on a branded firmware you probably have to wait a little longer till you get you ota update notification.
What can give you probably more problems is the rooted phone and custom recovery which could prevent a successful update.

[Firmware] 4.0.2 Firmware flashable update zip

Just grabbed the firmware files from the latest 4.0.2 release (same pack as someone else uploaded for 4.0.1, I just replaced the files with the newer versions.
Here is the 4.0.2 :

So far I've noticed a marked improvement in GPS satellite detection, it's almost instant (I'm on official RR and it had been mentioned so folks on RR might want to try it for that reason).
Wow this is great. Cause gps is kinda bad....

You must have made a mistake while unlocking your bootloader then, I'm not getting any issue and I'm on the same platform as you (3.0.3-1 and RR), no one else has made any similar comment either (It's been downloaded and presumably installed 72 times). Did you follow the guide in the TWRP thread? (Wipe data partition, etc)

It should be 4.0.2 cos it's the files from that release, did you get any errors when flashing? Remember, it's not the full 4.0.2 rom so if you're running the OOS 4.0.1 you should really just run the official update, to be honest these files were just for when it first came out, any more recent custom roms should now include this new firmware in them, if you're running a custom rom.
