So far I've noticed a marked improvement in GPS satellite detection, it's almost instant (I'm on official RR and it had been mentioned so folks on RR might want to try it for that reason).

You must have made a mistake while unlocking your bootloader then, I'm not getting any issue and I'm on the same platform as you (3.0.3-1 and RR), no one else has made any similar comment either (It's been downloaded and presumably installed 72 times). Did you follow the guide in the TWRP thread? (Wipe data partition, etc)
Does this latest firmware still trip the DM-Verity error on boot?

It should be 4.0.2 cos it's the files from that release, did you get any errors when flashing? Remember, it's not the full 4.0.2 rom so if you're running the OOS 4.0.1 you should really just run the official update, to be honest these files were just for when it first came out, any more recent custom roms should now include this new firmware in them, if you're running a custom rom.

i rooted it to get access to some apps and ive been told that you cant update the phone(with the original update) if its rooted.
can i update through the phone although it is rooted ?
if so, did the update release yet ?
in addition, does it contain all the languages incl. hebrew ?
thank you so much
edit: plz move it if it doesnt belong here.ty.
if you are rooted , you cannot receive OTA updates . So far there's no ETA from lg for our lg g2 ,and at the moment only korean version got official lollipop . We are waiting too ,on european version ,hope by the end of january.

For model f320L (I'm not sure about another model), even my phone are rooted I can still receive OTA updates (if i keep the stock recovery). But for model f180 (Optimus G), it is impossible

Lollipop...not yet
Right now, when I check "Software update", a toast notification appears >> "Communication in progress..."
Root =custom recovery = no OTA. Simply as that. So if Lollipop appears, and you prefer OTA way of update- the only one solution is to use pure stock.

Correct. I mean in general. Usually root goes in pair with custom recovery. So if you have root and want OTA remember not to touch recovery and of course don't delete any system app.

If there is an OTA 5.0 update on the G2 devices, then I am very disappointed.
Normally, on any other subroom, soon as Sammy or Sony or HTC releases their "update" (or source code), xda dev. instantly jump on it right away, and rooted/custom recovery users will have a chance to run the latest update BEFORE ones that waiting for phone providers such AT&T/Verizon to push OTA update.

Hi mate.
I have the Redmi Note 2 Prime. I am on official stable 6.7.4.0. I have flashed GAPPS with TWRP and then reflashed the stock recovery back.
However when I download the OTA update for 6.7.5.0, it ends up failing and coming up with an error when trying to install it through Mi Recovery.
I have tried the same OTA update but this time without GAPPS being flashed on the device and the update worked fine.
Do you know of a GAPPS package that works fine without breaking the OTA update functionality.

Hi.
Yeah I'm familiar with the different MIUI ROM's including the ones from Xiaomi.eu.
The problem is the China DEV ROM which is on MIUI7 and the Xiaomi.eu ROM's which are based on it come pre rooted which causes a problem with some of my apps. That's why I prefer to stay on the Stable build.
The problem is, all the GAPPS packages including the ones you linked are breaking the OTA update functionality.
Thanks for sharing this one! Hopefully there will be a German translation soon but first I need to get used to MIUI. Still discovering new features on day three with this phone
For some reason root doesn't work on 5.9.11. Attached the screenshot.
Had the same issue, and needed to flash SuperSu through twrp recovery
I had already flashed supersu zip in recovery, but apparently the version I tried was too old. I flashed v2.49 and now it's working!
However, there are certain issues with the latest dev version of miui 7. Screen flickering in videos and on the launcher when switching pages, the brightness slightly changes.
Can confirm flickering it is annoying.

I just go to official Magisk topic and download Latest Magisk (version 12.0), flash it through TWRP (i'm using 3.1.0-0) and when the phone is on go too Magisk Manager at Play Store and install it.
After going through that, it just works... :silly:

I have read recently that CTC verification now fails due to unlocked bootloader, as well as it's other detections like root.
I read on the Netflix/root thread on XDA (sorry don't have link. It was on main page this past weekend) where several people mentioned that.
I'm trying to find out if relocking bootloader , can I keep twrp and root (magiask) ?

On stock rom root cannot be hide.
I tried magisk and supersu+suhide.
You can flash the newest Resurrection Remix.
Su hide and cts are OK.
I was playing with Mi 9T custom ROMs (LineageOS, Xiaomi.eu; Russian TWRP) and kept getting a notification saying my persist parition is corrupted.
I flashed persist.img from the official EEA 10.3.12 fastboot ROM And everything seemed to be OK. But even after flashing to stock and relocking the bootloader, the Widevine certification is only at L3.
As I understand it, the persist partition included some keys used to decrypt L1 DRM content. Is there really no way to get L1 back? Even with Magisk?

Tried downloading xiaomi flash tool, but I get an error message when trying to install drivers. Can I just flash the fastboot image of MIUI 10 global stable? Or will there be any rollback problems? Can I flash the .zip in the chinese TWRP?
Hoping for some answers. thanks

I can't tell you if it will work without issue... I think the best solution is using "Fastboot" method.
Be careful not to trigger Anti RollBack protection (ARB) when downgrading, this could brick your smartphone.

Ah yes it seems that if you flash through xiaomi tool or fastboot there is a check before flashing the ROM that can be rejected if the RollBack index is incompatible. Just avoid flashing an older miui version from TWRP, or check the RollBack index before. https://www.xda-developers.com/xiaomi-anti-rollback-protection-brick-phone/

I didn't know they had the same ARB version, but I just wanted to warn, you have to be very careful when performing a downgrade. If I had to downgrade, I would check the ARB index just to be safe. There have been devices bricked before because of ARB on Xiaomi devices according to this article https://www.xda-developers.com/xiaomi-anti-rollback-protection-brick-phone/ and others. Better safe than sorry.
