ok, i started to get a bit pis**d off by this bug...
i've tried several roms (cloudy3.3, somboons stock, somboons thai food ones) and i still can't trace what is causing this...
here is the situation:
device is in screen off/sleep mode, wi-fi is turned off in sleep (no data is turned on - and that is ok)
when i turn the screen on - wifi turns on after few seconds - that is ok
after a minute or so - wifi turns off by itself, and reconnects again - and it stays on until i turn the screen off...
at first - it didn't bother me much, but it just started to get annoying and it pis**s me off because i can't find the culprit of that bug...
i've tried several things:
- reflashing the roms (clean flash)
- removing xposed mods one by one (i use 3 of them - g3tweaksbox, flat style indicators and xtoast)
- stock and dorimanx kernel
- changing wifi router channel (i'm running dual band router - 5ghz/2.4ghz, it makes no difference on which band i'm connected)
did anyone else notice this bug?
i googled like a MF and the closest thing i've found was connected to nexus devices on lollipop (similar reconnection issues, but worse)
thanks in advance...
I can confirm - having the same situation after switching to Lollipop. At first I thought that switching to 5G wifi solved it, but still the issue remains. Have you tried different kernels?

i've tried stock kernels that came with the roms i flashed and dorimanx on all...
i didn't try xceed (or whatsitcalled) kernel...
i somehow doubt kernel is the culprit of this...
i'm pointing my finger to either xposed framework or some router setting...
only thing i didn't try so far is using the pure stock rom for a few hours without installing xposed or any additional apps i use regulary...

Hi there.
I'd like to ask for some help from somebody who has already gone through all this.
My problem is the following: I'm trying to use SIP with WIFI on my N1 (froyo, enom's theofficial 2.11.3).
At the moment my screen turns off the connection greatly deteriorates (I still hear about 1/3 parts of some spoken words) than drops.
I've actually harvested a lot on this forum about WIFI issues. Found out about driver bug, asked Enom to include a fix from Broadcom in his wonderful rom and he did in 11.2.3. After installing it, my connection drop when listening to online radio and screen goes off were fixed immediately. Now I can listen for hours without problem.
However, the SIP problem is still there. I've tried to put sleep policy to always on, tried to use both C3X (with proximity sensor support) and SIPDROID, tried 2 different wifi fixers apps I've found (with all possible settings combination) - nothing helps. The fixer apps, btw, didn't have ANY influence whatever mode / fixes I enabled / disabled.
What's this? Is it another driver issue? Is there a rom that works as supposed to in same circumstances?
Thanks.
BTW: If it does work for you please tell, that's important too...
Re: [ROM][NIGHTLY] CyanogenMod 9 for Motorola Milestone 2 (Android 4.0.4)
This is kinda sad, that I can't reply directly to the ROM thread, but here it is, I just hope someone will tell them, or see it to adress these problems correctly:
There's a couple of problems with this ROM. First of all it loses the data connection after sometime of inactivity. Browser won't load anything, asking to check the connection. Going to settings -> data usage -> mobile data switch -> turning it off and then on solves the problem, but it's kind of annoying to do that five to six times a day.
Secondly - just after flashing this ROM keyboard backlight was working fine. But after installing the gapps it stopped. Just won't work. ((
Third(ly))) - Apollo app crashes at random when trying to listen to podcast/music from sdcard. Also annoying. Disabling data connection seem to solve the issue tho as it stopped crashing yesterday.
Fourth - some sensor shanannigans when you're trying to use chrome (games are fine with it) while charging. Random zoom-ins and stuff.
Fifth - and most terrifying. Sometimes it loops, as if I was repeatedly taping the screen at the center or somewhere near it. Can't even reboot when it happens. Power button to lockscreen seem to solve the issue.
Otherwise this ROM is smooth and good and I like it a lot. Using it for a few months now.
Big thanks.

The Data connexion loss is a recuring bug for some, mostly people who have a Carrier that use roaming (ie : use another's carrier's network). No known fix for know, but some people seems to have it working "better" by disabling data roaming/national data roaming in options, but it's not for everyone, since some carriers require that to be toggled for data to work.
For the Backlight on the keyboard, be sure to check if the automatic gestion of automatic backlight is activated, it's required for it to work. There is too a "fix" for the problem in the last 5/6 pages of the main topic from memory, but don't recall it exactly, so you'll have to dig to try it.
No idea about Apollo, but it seems to have quite some quirks, and most people use other players so not sure about it, maybe start by checking the Apollo dev's page and market comments to be sure it's not related to Apollo but to the ROM.
The "random sensor shennanigans" while charging is something that happens to a lot of people, i think it's a multi touch bug from the kernel, but not sure (ie : not really solvable by the dev, unless he finds a way to remake tezet's fix (i think it was tezet) or we all use CH kernel since it seems the bug isn't there in this kernel [ wtb a way to use custom kernels :/]).
Your last problem is a weird bug, probably linked to the ROM, but i must admit it'll be hard to pinpoint, since i don't have it but my brother do, while both phones are the exact same model, and flashed the same, in the same order, with the same sbf/rom versions and so on.
I guess you can try to make a full wipe/factory reset (only backuping data you REALLY need to keep like contacts/sms/call log and so on) and redo your phone config, because as far as i know, the only difference between my phone and my brother's is that i had to did that again after i screwed up a couple times, installing an app that was bricking the phone (took me a few wipes to identify it), it might be the reason why i don't have it and he does, or not.
Anyone else having wifi issues with 4.3? I am 100% stock unrooted, installed the official google factory image with fastboot doing a full wipe including user data. I have been running AOKP and have gotten sick of the issues this tablet has and though that going 100% stock to see if it solved any of the problems. I have only been installed since last nigh but I am already having wifi issues. The wifi seems to loose connection and has to be toggled on and off to get it going again. Anyone else seeing this?
I can confirm this.
I actually think my Wi-Fi is even better now.

I had the issue you described on 4.2.2 but not so far with 4.3, only time will tell. I'm getting random YouTube app freezing but these do not appear to be WiFi related. I flashed the 4.3 update over my existing 4.2.2. Stock image so have a different base then yours.
No problem with WiFi, it also seems more stable now.

No WiFi issues here.

As others have said, I've found my wifi reception/stability has improved with the 4.3 image. My older 802.11b hotspot didn't work with the N10 reliably before the upgrade to 4.3, regularly dropping the connection. Now it works fine, and always at full "bars" reception.
My 5Ghz 802.11n AP worked fine before, and still works fine now.
Hi, I too have had poor wifi on my wife's nexus 10 since 4.3.
Every night for last couple months my wife and I have played ticket to ride in in bed. From the moment she reset it to apply the 4.3 update (between games) she has suffered from dropouts and the game continually disconnects. Was running perfectly for months until this update was applied.
Given that she updated between games and we noticed the issue immediately after the update I am sure there is a change for the worse in the wifi configuration under android 4.3.
I am also experiencing wifi issues with the stock 4.3 update. No SoD so far like with 4.2.2 but since 4.3, wifi quality will degrade when I am using it heavily. I will still have 2-3 bars but the connection will slow to a crawl until I toggle wifi off/on. (I feel I should add: quality router, multiple devices without issues) The only thing I have done to this ROM is chainfire root. It seems some have the issue and some don't. I'll prob try and install again tonight to see if it helps.
I have been experiencing a loss in internet connectivity after 1-2 hours of inactivity now that I am on 4.3. The WiFi icon turns gray but stays connected to the router. I rebooted the router, but no help. I have advanced settings set to WiFi always on. I had WiFi optimization on, and am now testing to see if things change with it off. I never had any connectivity problem with 4.2.2 and nothing else has changed. If this keeps up, I may flash back to 4.2.2 till things get better.

That is a very simple fix if you just asked around, or searched and you would see the three primary causes.

I ended up using an app called safe charge that seemed to do the trick. What were the other causes or fixes for this? I just wanted to go stock for a bit while AOKP and CM get the 4.3 builds up and running so i would have a reference to compare the performance and stability to.
I have filed a bug report for this here https://code.google.com/p/android/issues/detail?id=58206&thanks=58206&ts=1375129699

The leading causes of sleep of death issues are:
The CPU governor uses hotplugging, the majority of the users on this tablet get SoD with hotplugging on
Voltage was tweaked a bit lower and is not enough to run your CPU properly
You are running Franco's R12 kernel which has a very widely known SoD issue.
It is also possible that the version of the AOKP kernel you may have been running had the same tweak that Franco did and was also causing a SoD. 90% of the time when someone has a sleep of death issue on this tablet it is because of something from the kernel that is causing the issue, you can try out KTManta or Trinity kernel (also both of them have beta kernels available for 4.3).

FWIW, after turning the WiFi optimization off, the WiFi status icon has remained blue and I have not lost the internet connection when sitting idle for hours.
[Q] Wifi Issue with LG-D802
Hi all
Few days ago i receive my G2 and quickly updated to android Kitkat (Never experiencing Jellybean on this phone before),
I started to have some issues with the wifi. The wifi appears to be connected but sometimes there is no data transfer and wifi automatically disconnect even in the strongest signal area (the router is just below my desk of my phone) and the wifi settings was still turned on.
This occurs with every router from normal to the strongest connection.
Besides the connection drops also occurs on this phone which there is no internet connection even when the wifi is connected
So is this the wireless hardware issue or anyone experienced this before? Would like some suggestion please, Thanks!
So... just to make sure, you are running the default/stock ROM with OTA update to Android KitKat right? I am currently running CM11 nightly, and sometimes it has issues with connectivity (wifi/LTE). Let me know.

Yes it is running stock LG rom at 4.4.2
Here is what i would try:
1. Try resetting the phone to see if the errors go away. Maybe something went wrong while upgrading
2. If the problem still persists, and you are expert at ROMing - try installing a different ROM to see if this is related to LG's ROM.
3. Get a replacement if under warranty.
Just to let you know, KitKat does have some wifi issues. Some people are reporting issues with 4.4.2 and not with 4.2.2.
Hope that helps.

I have reset the phone after i face the problem after the first day of use. However it does still appear but not in a very frequent like minute or hour basis. The connection drop and wifi disconnects occurs randomly during normal browsing/playstore/ social apps activities. I guess it was very hard to get for replacement under warranty if the problem was not really significant (occurs 2-4 times per day) although it is still under warranty coverage.
Thanks for your advice, i am currently looking towards in accessing device debug log to try to proof them there is something wrong with the wifi on the phone.
For me the same problem happened and i found out the solution by lowering the band of rounter to 54mbps only

Hello ,
I am on DeoXPer Pure MM 3.0 (Touchwiz) Rom what is an really great one.
But now after some weeks (installing this and that) I noticed whenever i disable wifi the wifi-icon starts to blink. It is alternating within ca. 1.5 seconds. Its not only a visual effect - in the wifi section the slidebutton ist alternating too. When I touch the button i can reactivate wifi and the near wlan is connected. The problem is that i would like to deaktivate wifi sometimes to safe battery. This strange behavior is very batterydraining. I wiped memory reinstalled apps (with data via titanium) but at some point the missbehavior reoccours. Do you have any hints for me to identify the misbehaving app or config?
Thanks in advance

Google is up to something me thinks as when I turned the gps on today the wirless scanning re activated.
I have used alot of roms but I always go back to stock as I have had less bugs that way. If I was to flash another rom I would choose Omega rom or just stick with stock and a custom kernel. Cheers.
